(Translated by Google) Kanayama Castle, an immortal castle. Kanayama Castle (Kanayama Castle) is one of the seven famous castles in the Kanto region, with the largest territory. That famous Kenshin Uesugi also attacked this castle about five times, but he could not drop it, and it is touted as an impregnable famous castle. If you walk, you will be far from the castle area, and once you enter the castle area, you will be hiking all the time, which is a good exercise. But ... I'm tired ... Tour of the seven famous castles in Kanto.

(Translated by Google) The stone wall with the correct crease is impressive. Built in the middle of the Muromachi period as the residence of Mr. Iwamatsu. This is the descendant of Yoshisada Nitta, the hero of Ota who defeated the Kamakura Shogunate, which had been dysfunctional due to the tyranny of Mr. Iwamatsu and Mr. Hojo. In place of Mr. Nitta, who was defeated by Mr. Takauji Ashikaga and was destroyed, his relative, Mr. Iwamatsu, dominated Nitta-so in this area, and during the Muromachi period, he became a guardian, although it was limited to some areas. However, the era entered the Warring States period due to the Onin War, and Mr. Iwamatsu was robbed of Ueno Nitta-gun and Kanayama Castle by Mr. Yokoze (later Yura), a senior vassal. I would like to introduce Mr. Iwamatsu's [good story] and [a little disappointing story] one by one. [Good story] The descendant of Mr. Iwamatsu, who was deprived of his real power by his vassal, Mr. Yokose, had an audience with Ieyasu Tokugawa, who became a shogun in the Edo period. At that time, Ieyasu asked me for a venerable Nitta family tree. Ieyasu claimed to be of Nitta's blood for foiling (actually, it was quite a textbook), so he might have wanted to falsify Matsudaira's family tree by looking at Nitta's family tree. It is said that. Mr. Iwamatsu, who is full of masculineness, seems to have repelled it. How cool it is not to let the most powerful person of the time push the yoko guruma. However, Mr. Iwamatsu became the flagship of the shogunate, but Ieyasu was disappointed in this matter, so he said that he had only 20 stones. It is exactly the story of going on the ground with "Samurai do not eat but Takayoe". [Slightly disappointing story] I mentioned Mr. Iwamatsu as a descendant of Yoshisada Nitta, but that is a matrilineal story. The patriline is a relative of Mr. Takauji Ashikaga, and he seems to have used it properly depending on the partner and the situation. Somehow, it feels good.

I wasn’t having plan to visit there. It was just a random visit coz there was nowhere left to visit 😂 But the best part is you can trek to top tho they have a way for car as well but if you an enthusiast you must take the trek path. It was quite peaceful at top and the view is worth watching. Maybe night view from here will be super cool.

(Translated by Google) Kanayama Castle is a relatively easy-to-understand castle. It was recorded in Shoin's private language and was built as a castle for Iwamatsu. The monk designed the castle, and after Iwamatsu, it became Yokose and renamed Yura. The stone wall near the restored castle is spectacular, and is a special case in the Kanto region, where there are many earthen castles. Since the top is a shrine, it is difficult to see clear relics, but a new discovery can be expected if a survey is conducted. It is a strong castle that has prevented survivors of Kenshin Uesugi and Hojo and has surrendered, but never fell in a siege. The ancient stone wall remains on the north side of the summit, so it is a must see.

(Translated by Google) Although it was known to be impregnable during the Warring States period, it was the remains of Kanayama Castle, which was abandoned as it was, and was dropped by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's conquest of Odawara. The area around Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, is considered to be the hometown of Mr. Nitta, and there is also Nitta Shrine in the ruins of the castle, whose deity is Nitta Yoshisada. However, it seems that it is not clear when Kanayama Castle has been around. The current remains were built by Mr. Iwamatsu, who is considered to be the family of Mr. Nitta, at the beginning of the Warring States period, and changed the castle owner while repeating expansion and renovation, and finally were maintained by Mr. Gohojo. The old building has been lost for a long time, and the former castle is only left behind in the stone wall, but it looks better than expected due to careful excavation and preservation. I visited on a sunny day, but the view from the observatory was good, and if it was sunny, I would be more satisfied. There were quite a few people dressed as climbers, but I think that easy-to-move + sneakers are sufficient because there are no difficult roads. Of the several mountain trails, the one from the guidance facility at the foot of the mountain seems to be convenient and has plenty of attractions.

(Translated by Google) First of all, stop by the Ota City Historic Site Kanayama Castle Ruins Gusuku Gusuku Facility, get the castle stamp (300 yen) and a pamphlet, and then climb after observing the model of the castle 🤗 It is useful for attacking the castle 😁 The scale of the castle is small However, the stone wall is wonderful 😊 You can see that it was an impregnable castle everywhere 🤗 Nitta Shrine is built on the site of the mountaintop Honmaru, and you can also get a written red stamp (300 yen) 🤭 It was a trip of two birds with one stone 😋 (Original)

There were quite a few people who came by road bike about 2 km to the parking lot near the summit. Many people were equipped with hiking equipment at the ruins of the castle. I wonder if sandals are NG.

(Translated by Google) The main remains are Saijo, Minami Kuruwa, Baba Kuruwa, Horikiri, Ishigaki, Earthworks, and Hinoike. A large-scale restoration work was carried out, and even when I visited there three years ago, it was under construction. It is a solid mountain castle that utilizes the terrain of Yamate. Stones are also piled up on the earthworks to make cobblestones, and the appearance is similar to Machu Picchu, the ancient city of Peru. I personally call it "Machu Picchu in Gunma" (^^) If you take a bird's-eye view of the restored major Koguchi, you can see that it has a complicated and solid structure. Although there is no building, it is a castle ruin that tickles the romance.

(Translated by Google) 2021.1.24 Siege on foot from Ota Station on the Tobu Line. If you walk along Prefectural Road 321 for about 30 minutes, you will find a guidance facility, and if you go a little further, the mountain trail will branch off. There was no particular guidance, and when I proceeded along the mountain road that was barely open, thinking that it really fits here, the torii gate of Nitta Shrine appeared and reached the top. It took about 50 minutes from the station. There were many fine stone walls, and it was built to be called "Ishigaki Castle". There was a 100 famous castle stamp and a vending machine in the rest area of Minami Kuruwa, and the coffee I drank while looking down on the city in the clear air of winter was delicious. It seems that you can see the Sky Tree if it is sunny, but the visibility is poor because it is cloudy. By the way, the time required to reach the summit of Niragawa Station, which is next to Ota Station, is almost the same. However, Ota Station is a key point on the line where limited express trains also stop, so this is a little disadvantageous in terms of convenience.
