Beautiful shrine! I recommend to go during fall because the foliage makes the shrine even more beautiful!

To be honest, I can't really distinguish between a shrine and a temple, but it's a very eye-catching and beautiful architecture.

Cool temple. If you have time there’s a 2hour hike up a mountain to another temple.

Awesome temple though for new years get there early as the lines to park get crazy long.

Well worth a visit to this place. Many things to do but a great Shrine and Temple to visit for whatever reason you chose. Good parking facilities and a couple of market stalls available near the car park. There appears to be some walks in the local area also but we didn't venture beyond the temple.

This place is freakin awesome! So many cool aspects of traditional Japanese culture here. And tons of beautiful nature, including a mountain hike behind the temples and shrine that go through a very serene forest. A word to the wise, though: If you are going to ride a bike up there, you can do it but it's definitely a challenge. About 6 km up often steep hills.
