Purchased a £80 fifa points voucher at this store for my child’s birthday. Upon my son inputting the voucher on the Microsoft store , no points were added . After a lot of phone calls and hassle to Microsoft and ea sports we later discovered that the points were added to a game called fifa 20 and not fifa 21 , my son doesn’t even own fifa 20. This turns out because I supposedly picked up a fifa 20 voucher card instead of a fifa 21 card. The frustrating part is that I didn’t even pick this card up , I advised the shop assistant that I needed a fifa 21 voucher as I’ve never played a x box or console in my life ! and she mistakenly gave me a fifa 20 voucher instead, Or like me she must of just presumed all fifa vouchers were the same . So no advise was given detailing that the card wouldn’t work for FIFA 21 at the counter at all. Both Microsoft and ea sports have told me they are just selling old stock at a inflated price , as if I was to buy this on Microsoft then the exact same voucher would of cost me only £40 ( half the price then Smyths) as it’s an old game that nobody plays any more. In fact I later discovered that this store didn’t even have any fifa 21 vouchers on the shelf , only fifa 18,19 and 20. Sounds to me like there catching people out with old stock ( what a con) Both Microsoft and ea sports told me it is the retailer (Smyths ) that I need to get a refund from as this is where I purchased! Low and behold this store did not issue me a refund and the manager said there is nothing I can do about it , so now I am £80 down and my son has no points . So the voucher was not fit for purpose! So just to make people aware to NOT purchase any digital vouchers from here as if any thing goes wrong with them you are not protected in any way what so ever , if I would of just purchased this directly on Microsoft then they said they would of given me a full refund and I would of payed half the price in the first place . Lesson learned. Will never shop here again !

When went into this store and my Pokémon crazy autistic kid was after pokemon stuff. He saw a sign saying free pikachu card when you spend over £20 on Pokémon GO, so he made sure he spent over £20. Got to the till the woman said nothing so he asked for it, let me tell you this woman was so half arsed! She made zero effort to locate them and just told us " erm can't find them" no effort to ask another member of staff or anything. Why work in a toy store where kids are your main customers if you can't be bothered with them, bizarre Aside from the staff, the store is a good size with a good selection of toys, they usually have pretty good deals on. The store is easily accessible for wheelchairs and prams. Plenty of free parking outside including disabled bays. Only a short walk from Bury town center

Had a good shopping experience at smyths bury. The skater dude with the beard was very helpful I also like he was concerned about safety and advised me to buy a helmet. I think you should look at revising your checkout screens as the staff are struggling to scan items. Overall a very good experience. Thanks skater dude. And merry Christmas

Very friendly and helpful staff. Adhering to all covid 19 guidelines. Lots of choice of toys for both girls and boys and for all ages. From babies to teenagers. A click and collect service. A good selection of video games and consoles, just as good as Game.

AVOID or park elsewhere - Caution regarding this store. Located on the Mill Retail park this store operates on the basis of 2 hours free parking on the adjoined car park. The size of the store easily permits you to exceed two hours when shopping especially with little one's. All signage in the car park advises an extra hour for £2 and you must pay before leaving the car park. Smyths utilise Civil Enforcement Ltd and cameras to enforce parking reg's on site - they ALSO employ POPLA to manage appeals - this appeal company is part of the parking enforcement company and receives a substantial income from the private enforcement agencies - there is NO independence in the appeal process. Seen in the images - paid for the extra hour and left with 50 minutes of paid parking remaining. £100 fine produce - CEL, POPLA and SMYTHS all say must pay for parking at the start of your visit hence the appeal is refused. The signs as shown in the images clearly say pay before leaving - unless you have crystal balls how do you know you'll exceed the 2 hours? £800 spent in the store - evidence of parking being paid for, SMYTHS response - couldn't care less. The parking for the store is a catchment for punishing you - shop elsewhere with a retailer who cares about their customers is my advice. Daylight robbery. FOI request submitted - dozens, literally dozens of customers have been issued with fines in exactly the same way for the same reasons over a period of time. Something wrong somewhere? Not so say CEL and POPLA - no need to provide a receipt from the machine, otherwise you'd be able to provide evidence of payment. Store - it's large, well stocked and clean with plenty of choice - just no time allowed to look!

Shopped here yesterday, needed a pram for a new grandchild, we really weren't sure what we wanted, that is the mum to be and me. We were asked if we were OK and I asked for help, the young lady was very good, knowledgeable, pleasant and exceptionally patient. We ended up buying a travel system and cot bed. Would just like to say thank you to Justice for her help, great customer service

I was in the Bury store with my toddler today. He had a little upset and the manager Claire was absolutely fantastic. Such a professional and lovely lady. Thank you for everything you did today.

We were very disappointed with the Bury store at how many people were allowed to walk around the store without a mask. Plus we did not see any staff members wearing masks apart from the security man standing near the exit door. Most people in store including staff were in the age range that we are being told are most likely to spread the virus. We could not wait to get out of the store.

Disappointed that the website isn’t kept up to date. I turned up at 4.35 on a Sunday to Bury when it said closed at 7 to pick up a pre-ordered item. I had tried to call in advance at 3.30 as I thought this was strange for a Sunday, but no answer, wasted 50 min driving and a lot of petrol. It says it shuts at 9pm tonight so once again tried to phone to check but again no answer. I am going to have to risk it as I need the item. Don’t hold out much hope. Will not order again from them.

The staff are great in the store. Shop lifter came in and was quite violent. The scene scared my child and the staff made great efforts in reassuring her.

It's OK. But has bad roads to get to it. And there's not many toys at all. Please upgrade
