😠 Receptionists are rude and you feel as if you're bothering them. I had to wait 4 weeks for an appointment for a semi-urgent matter and when the appointment finally came around I was given a prescription for a medicine that is no longer in circulation. I called the doctors to ask to see someone asap... People often mention appointment,

Receptionists are rude and you feel as if you're bothering them. I had to wait 4 weeks for an appointment for a semi-urgent matter and when the appointment finally came around I was given a prescription for a medicine that is no longer in circulation. I called the doctors to ask to see someone asap as I am in need of the medication and they couldn't give me a face to face appointment for 2 weeks and only offered a phone appointment which I cant even receive a prescription from. Honestly a terrible service, find another Oxford GP.

What a shame. Lovely GP’s being represented by such awful receptionists. For some reason, they tend to operate under the belief that it is them that will be treating patients instead of the doctors and therefore every phone call and interaction is some sort of painful and strenuous task. I fear that perhaps one or two of the receptionists may have chosen the wrong career pathway and would be better suited to a career that does not involve providing assistance and communicating with those needing medical care - maybe a job in the prison system would be better suited. Obviously not all of the receptionists are like this and we’ve had experience with some lovely people that work here. In fact, I feel bad for them, knowing that they must interact with such miserable colleagues on a daily basis. Something needs to be done :)

The absolute worst GP I have ever been to. Reception staff are rude and act like everything is too much effort for them. I only had one appointment there, they didn’t give me a real appointment time just asked me to come in at midday, didn’t get seen until 1pm. Also, I’ve now registered with a new GP (three weeks ago!!!) and my files STILL haven’t been sent to them so I can’t get my medication! This place is awful, I can’t believe the uni isn’t addressing how terrible it’s own service is.

The most useless medical care service I have ever experienced. I am an Oxford Brookes student who has been denied medical consultation of any kind, both phone and by appointment, just because I do not possess a UK telephone number. You wonder why hospitals are experiencing such great stress? Think again..

After attending the practice due to a cough lasting 5 weeks I was told that I had simply caught 2 back to back coughs and was sent away with nothing, after the cough lasting another 2 weeks and getting considerably worse with a fever now accompanying it I called 111 and got an emergency appointment at an nhs clinic for them to say I have tonsillitis and a high fever and was given a 10 day course of antibiotics. Brookes medical centre were useless and now I cannot attend my lectures/presentations and have had to get mitigating because of their incompetence.

A total disgrace. After waiting an hour and a half, barely able to move I was told I was absolutely fine and to take some paracatomal. After going back to my flat and almost blacking out due to how high my fever was my dad had to drive up from London to pic me up just to take me to our doctor. He told me I had a viral infection. My fever was 40c and my throat was badly infected. I’ve now been advised to get tested for glandular fever. If I was to trust the doctor who saw me at Brookes medical center I could have been in real trouble.

I generally have had very little problem with this GP. It took a little while for my files to be updated in the NHS app but I get the help I need pretty easily with an e-consult form and get a call back the next day. I have never had to walk into the practice to get the medication I need.

Never took me seriously about my back pain. Was told to take pain killers until it went away. It didn’t go away for 2 months after going elsewhere to see a doctor. Explained I hadn’t been to a doctor for anything for 7 years and had a few things I wanted seen to but instead said we have time for only 2 things. One regarding my acne/Dermatillomania where she said it wasn’t bad (mind you I was wearing a lot of makeup) and it’s simply normal. She made me feel really stupid. Honestly, the worse experience with a gp I’ve ever had. Never went back after that.

Reception staff are rude, to patients and other professionals. Useless, no help, or empathy. Anything is too much trouble. Scandal it's still open.

😠 Useless practice. You phone up to book an appointment and they ONLY allow phonecall appointments as a first option. So you call the desk just to book a slot to call a doctor, who then tells you that a face to face is needed and instead of booking me in herself, she tells me to wait for reception to...

😠 Never in my entire life came across less interested GPs. As a future healthcare professional, it is extremely sad and shocking to see such lack of holistic approach and carelessness. On the other hand, nurses seemed professional and great at their job. Therefore, after being registered with them fo...
