In
our
sleepy
little
burg
of
South
Brevard,
way
back
in
the
'70s,
there
needed
to
be
more
diversity
in
food
options.
It
was
when
Lebanese
gourmet,
now
Skewers,
opened
in
the
early
80s
that
we
finally
had
the
opportunity
to
try
Middle
Eastern
food.
Now?
Middle
Eastern
places
have
become
so
prolific
that
people
who
need
to
learn
the
difference
between
Arabic
and
Greek
food
can
get
easily
confused,
not
unlike
a
newborn
in
a
topless
bar
overcome
with
the
multitude
of
embonpoint
about.
This
is
why
I
am
here.
Some
may
think
it's
to
push
the
envelope
of
structurally
sound
seating
apparatus,
yet
others
to
stir
the
pot.
While
both
of
those
may
have
a
modicum
of
truth
about
them,
the
main
reason
I
am
here
is
to
provide
you
with
unbiased
food
reviews
and
to
help,
if
I
can,
distinguish
between
cultural
offerings
in
the
edible
arena.
After
a
few
debacles
of
Greek
food
in
places
like
this,
I
went
with
their
Arabic
offerings
today.
Hey,
if
you
want
a
Gyro,
head
to
the
Olympia
Cafe.
I
put
in
an
order
for
their
Mixed
Grill
Platter
of
Chicken
and
Lamb
and
relaxed
while
awaiting
my
dish.
The
aromas
wafting
from
the
kitchen
told
me
I
was
in
for
a
treat,
as
they
were
to
die
for.
I
love
the
smell
of
a
Middle
Eastern
kitchen!
It
was
only
a
short
time
before
my
order
was
up.
Snapping
the
obligatory
pics,
I
quickly
succumbed
to
the
smells
and,
salivating
just
a
bit,
dug
in.
If
I
didn't
do
this
regularly,
words
might
escape
me
at
this
juncture.
More
often
than
not,
when
you
order
kabobs,
one
is
presented
with
dry
meat
due
to
over-grilling
or
sitting
under
warming
lights
for
too
long.
That
was
not
the
case
here.
These
kabobs
were
made
to
order,
grilled
to
perfection
and
superlative
on
the
palate.
The
rice
was
wonderfully
steamed
and
seasoned
with
just
the
right
amount
of
turmeric,
cardamom,
cloves
and
cinnamon
to
give
you
that
delectable
concoction
of
Middle
Eastern
flavors.
I
also
found
my
side
salad
to
be
of
high
quality,
with
all
the
ingredients
being
exceptionally
fresh
and
tasty.
The
feta
was
moist
without
being
wet
and
dry
in
the
mouth.
In
modern
Brevard
County,
it
is
easy
to
become
overwhelmed
with
food
choices,
especially
among
the
burgeoning
Middle
Eastern
scene.
The
Big
Boy
says,
"I
strongly
recommend
you
try
Al
Baik.
Just
stick
with
the
Arabic
food
and
you
can't
go
wrong.
It's
great
food
and
it
won't
break
your
piggy
bank."
