What a nice surprise in this adorable little town. Lots of local wildlife to see. In our short walk (30 minutes), we’ve seen snakes, gators, turtles and dozens of birds

We loved this boardwalk! It's quite lengthy and very well kept. The trees and views are spectacular. We saw some ducks, various birds, turtles, and even a snake basking underneath (be careful on the trails). The trails did have lots of dead ends but it's still a very nice walk through the shaded paths. Don't miss out on this boardwalk especially since it's close to the lighthouse and other park.

This boardwalk and trail is such a fun nature walk. I recommend it if you're in the area.

What a beautiful family walk. Gorgeous wood walkway that feels safe and fun. Around a mile out you can walk. There are spots that are covered with benches that you can enjoy watching the birds dive for fish and potentially see other wildlife like turtles, otters and alligators.

Beautiful view of the lake and surrounding trees, flowers and plants. Occasionally see an alligator.

What a nice place to go and relax. A wonderful place to fish too! Caught my very first fish ever in my whole life. It was a 3lb largemouth bass and it’s 17.5 inches in length. Today was my 2nd day learning how to fish and man, it was all worth it. I casted my fancy Telescopic fishing rod for 4 hours straight and only got a few bites. The last one snagged my clip, hook and lure. I had another fishing rod that I just got from Walmart and it was an Ozark Trail fishing rod combo. I don’t know the size of the line but it came with it. It was just my back up on set up for bobber fishing. I gave it a few cast because I was about to go home and sure enough I finally got one! I posted the photos so please check it out. This event made me even more motivated to fish as much as I can. I am so glad I gave fishing a try and I am so happy that I got my first catch ever in Palm Island Boardwalk. Thanks to the City of Mount Dora and the amazing people behind this beautiful sanctuary.

Love how relaxing it is with the wooded paths. The boardwalk over the water is pleasant to catch wildlife. Great place to fish, catch some peace, visit with friends or have a picnic.
