I travel frequently for work and booked a room for a week. I’ve never been so disappointed in my life. The outside appearance is deceiving. The carpets in my room stuck to my feet. There was a hard dried up ball of animal fecal matter in the bathroom. The smell was horrible. While I realize they are under remodeling, this was absolutely disgusting. Nothing is properly cleaned. They have people living behind the dumpster as well, that come out to the parking lot to beg for money and beer. This hotel was the biggest mistake I’ve made in my many travels.

Stayed here with a friend. Have never been so utterly underwhelmed with the quality of the rooms, level of cleanliness, and overall lack of standard. Right off the bat, on the way to our room, in the hallway, the carpets were filthy. Covered in dirt and who knows what else. They were very stained. On the door, entering the room, it looked like someone tried to break in to the room. There were also many bugs coming out of the carpet. Possibly cocaroches? Very unsanitary. We got a standard room with 2 queen beds. One of them had stained sheets and the other bed, was placed over a platform that was smaller than the mattress wich caused the mattress to tip over when sitting on the edge. In the bathroom, there was a lot of mold and smelled like it.The toilet paper holder did no have a toilet paper roll. The bathroom fan did not work and caused a short in the light. Overall, the bathroom was very dirty. The window did not have blinds and the curtains that were hung, were much smaller than the window. The room was ground level so there was no privacy as the curtains did not cover the window. Had to book another hotel room for my stay in Tampa. The first night we opted to sleep in the car we rented. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The pictures online did not reflect the reality of the appearance of the room. That was money thrown directly to the trash. We were unable to get a refund nor any other form of compensation for the inconvenience. I understand thay the price was pretty low compared to other hotels near here but that does not justify the underwhelming quality of the room.

I can not believe this place is opening for lodging. One would think it is a good place when they are located across the street from high-end car dealerships, but that is not the case. The place looks like it is falling apart. When you walk in the lobby, the smell of old building, old carpet smacks you right in the face. The carpeting all through your the place is FILTHY and SMELLY (like urine). The bedroom we reserved had urines smell, the king size bed was sunk in the middle, and the headboard was falling off the wall. The bathroom was atrocious, the toilet looked it has never been upgraded. The edges of the room were grimy and the counters were sticky. Luckily I was able to cancel my reservation. I much rather sleep in my car that lay my head in any of those beds.

Stayed here two weeks ago and it was the worst experience of my life! I paid for a deluxe king room which was nothing like the pictures. Walked in the hotel it smelled like wet dog. The bedroom smelled even worse! Took pictures and posted them of the floors in my room having stains all over them. Was afraid to even take off my shoes and walk on the floor not knowing what kind of stains were on the floor. The pillows were paper thin so you could not even fluff them to get enough head support. They show a picture of a end chair with fabric in the corner of the room which I never had. All I had was a hard dining room seat. There was no garbage pail in my room I had to use a bag that I had from Walmart. The light had no lampshade over it just the light bulb sitting out on the lamp. For the price they charge they really know how to rip you off! Ended up staying 2 hours and then leaving. They talk about always having a good first impression when you walk in a room. This was having a bad first impression soon as I walked into the room!

The lobby was unairconditioned, all the carpets were stained with mystery stains. The 'kitchen' in our room had a hole where things were supposed to be. Light fixtures were just ripped off their mounts. Our air-conditioner was just plastered into the wall where there were just holes to the outside. The king size bed was on a queen size frame. My partner and I stayed just long enough to get changed for a show we were going to then left. I skipped sleeping and drove all night instead of staying there

THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!! Honestly think the health department needs to review this place. It’s not a safe environment for no one! The pictures and reviews on Expedia are nothing like the place all! The walls were falling apart same with cabinets, ceiling, and floor. We transferred to another room and mold was found in both room. First room had used razors and garbage everywhere, second room had used tissues and cigarette butts on the bed! I wouldn’t even recommend to someone I hate. I can’t even put into words how awful this place truly is.

I stayed there with my fiancé from August 24th 2022-August 30th 2022. The carpets were heavily stained and smelled of (dog?) urine. The room was musty even after I personally had to clean the A/C vents. The walls appeared as if they weren't even finished renovating the room. She became ill after staying here, nauseous and having nosebleeds from the overall filth of the room. I would not even recommend this place to a homeless person.

If you have stayed here continuously for longer than 6 months, they illegally charged you taxes after 6 months. If you tell them this, with the utmost politeness, they will call the police. The police will recognize you as a non transient tenant. You will be covered under landlord/tenant laws. Get your over payment. And when they illegally change the terms of your tenancy, file an attorney general complaint and sue them in small claims. I was there for 10 months. It was easier than an apartment. Never complained, never had an issue. Until I brought the over payment to their attention. That's when they called the cops. That's when they cancelled weekly rentals. That's when they screwed all the long term tenants. Had they just corrected my over payment, they wouldn't be heading to court and turning $867 into thousands.

The good: The front desk person was very nice and efficient, it was very quiet, ac unit was new and worked great, we didn’t see a single bug and there was an amazing diner at the end of the block! The bad: Absolutely filthy, huge cigarette burn on the toilet seat, stains on the comforter, chewed gum on the top of the headboard (seriously gross) furniture was so old and dirty, hallway carpet was beyond disgusting and the mattress was so old that it was sinking in the middle. Yes it was a king size bed but in reality it was a twin because we kept rolling to the middle. And no microwave or fridge, let alone a ice bucket for ice!! This place needs a complete overhaul!!

how did this place skip demolition ? its dirty it smells , bed are uncomfortable and its a maze , doors leading to rooms are un marked and appear as they are locked and off limits . i couldnt find a room number as you have to go down a hall and up stairs, through a door down another corridor to find myself in the next set of room numbers completly skipping the room i was looking for . came out on the other side of the reception desk thought i was in the twilight zone went through it all again before a security guard took me bavk through the same way again and opened a door i thought wasnt for public to find the room number i was looking for completely disconnected from the sequence i was following hidden behind an unmarked door. they should really put out a map , mark the doors correctly or offer a psychis reading to inform you this place might be full of evil spirits and how to find your room. stephen king myst have stayed here once , it might be the inspiration behind the shinning. at least i got out alive after i walked out a door and found myself locked in the pool area with no escape accept an open door back inside the building

The room I booked wasn't available when I arrived. Paid for 7 nights. They shouldn't have accepted my money for a room they don't have. Wanted 10 days to refund money, I needed for another hotel. Also the rooms are NOT as pictured as on the website. They have 1 microwave, you share with all the guest. Kitchenette has counter and tiny fridge. Horrible experience. They should have notified me the room I reserved was not available. It took 2hours 40 minutes to cancel my room to have to wait 10 days for my money. Will be sleeping in my truck for 4 nights until my next paycheck, they have 7 nights of NY money

Very bad. Rent is $67.00 a night. Very dirty, roaches in the room, dead and alive. Cigarette burns on everything from the sheets, bathroom, (toilet wasn't connected to the floor). Ice machine was nasty as hell, you'll catch something bad from that thing. Tables dirty and burned, room moldy. Air conditioner was great though. Front desk is great, very accommodating, and friendly. The cleaning crew needs a ton more training in what is clean and what isn't. They were renovating another part of the hotel, so there is that. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Would I stay again in the condition the rooms are in that they're renting out now? Nope! Not even if it was $20.00 💜 L'

Id give a 0. No hot water. Smelt as if the septic backed up and they tried covering it with bleach. Dirty marks all over the walls, possible feces or blood? On walls. the hallways are DISGUSTING. Trash everywhere. I would not recommend.

They were in the middle of repainting the place when we arrived. It looks like they just painted over everything as is. There was a smell when you first walk into the front lobby. The front desk attendant was nice and courteous at the very least. We get to our room and I get hit with a strong foul smell. I luckily had some spray that I happened to bring with me and sprayed it everywhere to try and mask the smell. The room was extremely dirty and run down. The bathroom floor was so dirty. The carpet was really dirty too. I could not walk without socks on since I was so disgusted. In the bathroom, the shower curtains were riddled with stains and dare I say blood stains!?!? That is extremely unsanitary and who knows what could've happened in here! The bed frame was broken or something since the mattress drooped at the end of the frame which made it feel like the mattress was falling off of the bed frame. The air conditioning was full of dust which I'm sure is pretty bad to be breathing in. So much dust and pieces of the wall falling off. Spider webs in the corner of the walls. Extreme amount of rusting on the lamps and drawers. Mold, mildew stains on the bathroom ceilings. Save yourselves the stress/well-being and look for something better!

The front desk staff save this place. Also, they allow my dog. I didn't see any bugs, and I felt like the room was clean enough. Just very basic. Price attracts a rough crowd. But security responds quick if you call the front desk. Hot showers and the diner next door is 24 hours and Amazing!

Please do not stay here! This was the worst hostel/hotel/ inn I have ever seen. It smelled horrible and moist, the floor was disgusting and dirty, there was garbage laying around and large piles of garbage all over the place. Holes in the walls, water was not working, the sheets were not clean, everything was just so dirty. The security guard seemed to have a fake-uniform and people were lingering in the coridors, we heared dogs barking in other rooms. Everthing seemed shady. We had to change the hotel because we felt very unsafe and were afraid of robbery. AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.

This was the worst hotel I ever stayed at. They canceled my reservation. The room Was absolutely nasty. I mean they had dirty sheets and trash under the bed. It's mold that's been painted over. People walking around barefoot. I ended up sleeping in my car. I kept the room to take a shower that morning, which I had to purchase flip flops to stand in the shower. Plus the water didn't even get hot. I had to buy everything from new towels to blankets. The staff was nasty on the phone, but didn't have that same energy in person.

Value Lodge should definitely invest in a name change given there is nothing of actual value at the location. Get a smoking room and you might as well be paying to stay in an abandoned room. I've stayed there twice and not once was I given the kind of room i booked but do you think any accommodations or discounts were applied ?? NO!!. We can discuss the sea green pool the fact if you get a first floor room you have to share a microwave. Dirty Linen In the Rooms. Can't even get shampoo and conditioner either one or the other. Everytime I check in always see housekeeping but get to my room and it's filthy. They advertise that they sell out everyday so what is is it to clean or repaint walls fill in holes and bomb the Rooms simple fixes. Limeaway would solve all your bathroom issues besides not having fixtures to even be able to turn on the showers. I only suggest value Lodge for the Homeless like myself and even then only if you need it. Because while you may get a four walls "MAYBE" You might be able to find somewhere more comfortable on the side of a building. Oh and P.S If there's more roaches in the room than me they should be splitting the fees.

I can’t believe this is called a “Hotel” it’s the worst place I’ve ever seen in my live. Cannot describe how bad it smells. Please don’t waste your money going there. At the first step i put into the lobby, the host guy had a terrible attitude which I can understand if you’re working at a place like this, bad face bad smell bad way to talk with us, everything looks like a cheap horror movie. The toilet, shower, the walls, the hall, the lobby, the doubtful sticky floor. Nothing good I can say about this, I’m probably forgetting more bad details but I guess this is enough to you to don’t even think in this as an option. And of course if I could give them -20 stars I would

I stayed here on a last minute decision because of a family emergency. I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa, Amy, Jonelle & Walt and this thoughtful staff went out of their way to make that night a smooth stay. Two days later I’m staying here for the week, the price of course helps but it’s their exceptional staff that made coming back an easy decision. Thank you for the clean room, extra towels and friendly service.

Made reservations and the first room was nasty. The headboard was coming off the wall. Paint peeling in the tub. The second room not any better. Cigarettes burns on the furniture, beds looked like bed bugs were there, box springs falling apart. Carpet was nasty. Mildew painted over. No carpet in the hallways on the second floor, elevator doesn’t work.

Halls were very dirty.Smelled like pot in the hall. Asked for a non smoking room . All they had left was a smoking room. He said you already payed for it. So I took it bad decision. Smelled smoke all night. Got a sore throat. DON’T STAY HERE!!!!!!!

Let me start by saying as we were driving to the side parking lot I felt sick to my stomach. Then we got into the hall way and I was Nauseated. We opened the door to the room and I almost through up on my husband. I didn't even go in the room. I ran out and demanded a refund. It is so nasty, the owner should be a shame to claim that place as theirs. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT go there. The lady at the front desk was great and I feel really bad for her working in that place.

There was a hole in the wall and the light didn’t work in the bathroom. But the workers were friendly and the security team is cool, not a bad spot for the price, also nice vending machine and a pool, so it’s a good place. And Joe’s Diner next door is fire

I’m from NewYork and went to Tampa Florida for a business matter. I was discriminated against by this hotel on January 15th 2023. I’m looking to hired a lawyer I can trust to take the case. My husband and I are two young entrepreneurs. We made a reservation 7 days ago, the reservation included: tickets, car rental and hotel. We have paid for everything. Our flight was : 10:00am from NewYork to Charlotte and Charlotte to Tampa on Sunday January 15th, 2023. . It was a long flight, we reached there at the hotel around 2:53pm. We got our rental car and headed to the hotel. We went to the checking desk so we can rest and wait for our business meeting tomorrow. As soon as we got to the hotel desk, the check asked for my husband’s driver license. The clerk took the driver license and said to us, we can accommodate you because we full. We never received any emails stated the hotel reservation was canceled. , The reservation was already been paid, it was a package ; tickets, car and hotel. When we called priceline the website we’ve made the reservation from, they said they never received any conversations from the hotel stated that they’ve canceled our hotel reservation. They said they were sorry we need to find a place to stay and they will refund us our money. We weren’t able to find another hotel, we slept in our rental car. Priceline have stated that they will file a complaint because it was clearly a discrimination. I recorded all their conversations with us and want to file a law suit against them. It’s unfair to people who want to make America a better place for all to victimized by nonsense. I went on to make a reservation on the website to see if they didn’t have any rooms available. It was shocked to see they allowed me to make a reservation. They had rooms and we were told they couldn’t accommodated us.

I do not know how this place is able to still operate. Should be condemned. Doing renovations? Lol. Sure and good luck. It would cost less money to tear down and start over its that bad. Paid for a week. Left after 1 night. Scary situation here like a trap house and crack den on steriods. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had. So bad in every conceivable way I couldn't take it anymore. Just left and let them keep the money I paid. Run away as fast as you can seriously I Literally ran out the door twords my Uber. I wasn't even gonna waste the time to fight for my money back. Taking a loss was worth the quick exit. No kidding. 1st room bed was on floor and room not even attended to by staff before I walked inn. 2nd had so many cigarette and Crack burns on every surface of every single piece of furniture. Lights in both flickered and barely worked. If you ever seen the movie Coming to America when they get the apartment. That's basically it mixed with any horror house movie. Lol. Surprised that there was not a dead body. Human that is cause there were plenty of dead bug bodies.

Fantastic front desk service! Morgan was awesome, I had to make some last minute booking changes and Morgan fixed it all up for me in under 5 minutes. Good service can be hit or miss with value hotels but Morgan hit a home run! I forgot to get the name of the person who helped with my initial booking but they were also fast friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a value stay in Tampa.

We waited 1 hour for check in and when we walked into the room it smelled like disease. The toilet was outdated to say the least and basically unusable. The ceiling fell apart as we walked threw the door. There was nothing ok whatsoever about this hotel. The floors, the bed the bathroom everything looked unusable. I would rather stay on a bench then sleep in this hotel. DO NoT come here and wait your money. We could only get half refund. At least 3-4 people had requested a refund. Disappointing even for the price.

They are remodeling and they put me in a room that was half remodeled mirrors weren't hung headboards off the wall with holes the whole place was a real dive. I would recommend staying away from this place at least until they finish the construction. I didn't pay much for the room but paying a dollar was too much

Didn't know cash no longer accepted. Front desk super helpful, patient and respectful. Seems to have made a big turn around. I no longer view it as the "hood" hotel. Quiet hallway, Noone hanging around. Much better atmosphere. Has been a great place for me to find solitude and privacy. The price is worth it, no doubt. I am impressed! Go VALUELODGE!

Rhis place has changed a lot since they got new management. A lot of the issues it used to have are no longer a problem. For the price you really can't beat it. The staff is super friendly and helpful and everyone works really hard to make your stay enjoyable. The guy who runs it now seems to have chased off most of the riff raff and id say it's very family friendly now. Thank you to all of the staff you guys are doing a great job💜

My wife and I have been here over a month. They are renovating, adding carpet and doing up grades so people just need to have patience and understanding. The Amazing Staff are what make this place great! Amy (front desk) always goes above and beyond to make us and others comfortable while staying here! If you're looking for a quiet safe place to go and relax or have an extended stay then I'd definitely choose here. Just know ahead of time you will have some inconvenience with the remodeling, but Amy and the Staff here will more then compensate for that mild inconvenience with their overly eager to please attitudes!

Rooms are absolutely disgusting and infested with roaches. Set my son on the floor and he turned black from where nothing has been cleaned. Had to scrub the room myself. Service from one of the people at the front desk was good (a guy). The other staff up front were not as nice. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone

This place is deplorable. No elevator!! parked on side entry to access 2nd floor and glass door boarded up with cardboard with no security entry. Finally, open door to room and gasped. curtain not connected to rod. paint on walls peeling away as well as ceiling. Bullet holes or peepholes throughout room. Food under beds. Shower head not working and spider webs in corners. For our SAFETY we went to another hotel. Pictures on website are not anywhere accurate. Request for refund is depending on hotel giving an ok. Yeah, their word against mine. Read the reviews!!!! Reporting to Better Business Bureau. Had to give a 1 star in order to post but the number should be a negative 100
