To say I was surprised how far downhill this restaurant has gone is an understatement. All of the food tasted oldlike it had been in the restaurant for over a week. The Caesar salad dressing tasted like it had gone sour, the cocktail shrimp were the consistency of play dough, and the lobster tail came out raw beneath the surface. The only saving grace of this entire meal was Debbie, our waitress, who was amazing and super pleasant. Otherwise this was a misplaced $200 on a less than mediocre meal.

We came for brunch & enjoyed our visit. There’s a great outdoor area as well as a covered patio with table service. It’s located directly on the water as a part of the Hyatt hotel, which we weren’t guests at. This would be an amazing place to watch sunset over drinks or dinner. The food was very tasty.

We had a reservation at 5:30 on a Monday and were sat right by a window, which gave us a wonderful view of the sunset. Matt, our server, was extremely attentive and professional, and was an absolute joy to be around. The food was exceptional - we had the charred octopus, oysters, berry salad, salmon, and snapper - every bite of everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Tampa, especially if they can arrive just before sunset. Thank you Oystercatchers for the wonderful experience!

We arrived at 5:30 on a Tuesday , we were basically the only ones there so it was nice and quiet for our whole meal (ideal for us). Sat right by a window which gave nice warm lighting. The atmosphere and ambiance were very bright and nice. Our servers were professional, friendly and attentative. Food was delicious , best scallops I've had and the Sapphire Margarita was to die for. Would definitely eat here again !

Made reservations for a 1 year wedding anniversary in Jan 2022. I recall oystercatchers brunch being a very outstanding upscale buffet with endless mimosas in 2000’s. Years later I heard the place was still open and operational so I took a chance and book a brunch date. Upon arrival I was informed that it’s no longer a buffet :( we ordered from a menu that included 2 complementary mimosas or Bloody Mary’s and a plated dessert. We ordered fresh oysters and shrimp, they were good but the crackers were stale. The main course (grits and shrimp) was fantastic but crab benedict was just ok, not worth the cost. The dessert was not good at all, waste of ingredients. (dry and overly sweet) it was a plate of 5 pieces that looked like mini cupcakes and muffins mixed together. Weird combination. I would recommend the location to someone who wants to enjoy the beautiful view and some fresh oysters, otherwise I would say try another place.

Seafood quality and location are 5 stars! The views are beautiful on the water especially at sunset. It's a quaint restaurant located away from the highway so it provides a pretty nice romantic and peaceful atmosphere. The service is where there is an issue, but it's not the workers lack of effort. They are severely understaffed. We had a 1:30pm reservation for two people on a Saturday and got there at 1:00pm. We were told we could not be seated till our time because they didn't have enough servers in yet. The restaurant was pretty empty and the bar was slammed. We waited 20 minutes to just place a drink order with the 1 bartender who was hustling as fast as she could. We still didn't get seated till 1:40pm. Once we were at our table the view was really nice and we received our food pretty fast with the help of what looked like a manager. I couldn't even imagine what it would have been like on a Saturday night here if this is how this place is managed. I want to hope that this was not the norm but as a first impression, we had to have a lot of patience to wait to eat lunch and it would not have been as pleasant if the food quality didn't save the experience for the amount of money you pay. There is a lot of competition for waterfront restaurants in the area, so hopefully they can avoid this issue in the future so other patrons don't have this same experience.

This seafood restaurant is tucked away with beautiful bay views just outside the Grand Hyatt. The ambiance really stands out as the most exciting thing I can say about Oystercatcher. The food and service disappointed. Where to begin: I sat fifteen minutes with my menus closed and ready to order, from the looks of it my section wasn’t that busy. Another table nearby struggled to find a waiter who spoke Spanish—in Florida??!?—so it sounded like she ended up just having a miserable time. Overall, my server could care less about my dining experience or others. I heard one person say they’ve been here “five years” to another table in correcting them about something—well, maybe some fresh talent is in order! Wine selections by the glass are unremarkable, but it takes about ten minutes for it to arrive to your table. I ordered crab cakes, the presentation was exemplary, but the taste was so bland that I thought it may have come from a senior center kitchen. Ordered the Salmon special, it too was bland and way too undercooked for being “medium” (as ordered). What a disappointment of boring flavors, no passion from the kitchen. This is the problem with hotel restaurants that are not competing with anything nearby, they rely on scenery and the captive hotel guests to fill the seats. They also have too many options on the menu, which just says they lack focus. My recommendation is to skip it until the chef can find their voice again (or find one that can bring more flavors and passion to their food.)

If your looking for a upscale, on the water with great views, this is the place. The service and the food was good, I had a lobster omelette, my wife and son had the short ribs. They both were good. If your looking for the classic brunch, chicken, eggs , bacon, greens, and whole bunch of other options this is not the place. It’s a light brunch that won’t leave you to full that you will need a nap afterwards. Also, you get 2 free mimosas or bloody Mary’s with your meal. Plus free dessert. It’s worth a visit if your in the area.

Another phenomenal spot in Tampa Bay. The oysters were amazing. It was cool trying oysters grown in two different locations. One being Connecticut and the other the gulf, I believe. That was a first for me. A must try are the golden calamari fries, THE best calamari I've ever had , and completely different than the traditional rings. It's definitely a location restaurant, you don't see it from a street, and its way in the back of the hotel. I found it looking for amazing oysters and I was not disappointed.

We went here for my mother’s birthday dinner. And even though it was a bit of a journey for her to find the place she found it and we had an amazing time! We sat outside on the deck and watched the sunset! It was absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious and those drinks!!! The weather was perfect and we had amazing wait staff the entire time! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is celebrating something special or just a romantic dinner near the water!

We got there at 5:30pm that’s when we had a reservation. We started on patio but it started getting to warm outside so we came inside.Beautiful Views ,Staff was polite and very tentative.Prices was reasonable Only thing I would change is the amount of food was really small for the price. But the octopus was succulent and everything plate was picture perfect.I read the reviews how hard it was to find but it was easy we just followed google map instructions. Definitely would return ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect date night!! Loved the food, drinks, ambience and service at the Oystercatchers!! My husband and I had a great time! Being on the water, the restaurant has great views, bring your bug spray if you wish to sit out and enjoy the view/sunset. We opted to sit inside an enjoyed the view. The restaurant has great energy, great groups of people and lot of happy loud noises. We were celebrating each other, so we did not mind the noise. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a cocktail as much as the Hot & sunny margarita!! Slurp!! I might go back just for the drink!! 😜 Our appetizers were great too! The calamari was fresh and delicious. The crab cakes were good too. For the main course, I had the snapper in guazzetto & my husband had the blackened verlasso salmon. Both the dishes were delectable!! We skipped the dessert but we've definitely put Oystercatchers on our revisit and date night lists. I also plan to take my girlfriends there for those yummy cocktails!!

Beautiful view. Inside and outside. For sunset this place is the best. We had a reservation but come little early and was no issue. We sit outside first and when the food was ready we moved inside. Oysters were the best. Hubby had a whole fried snapper (sorry no pics) and I ordered 4 pieces of grilled shrimp with Kung Pao Brussels sprouts. All was so delicious 😋 we enjoy it so much. Our server was a Zak - who works here for last 13 years. That’s something. He was so lovely and always so attentive. Save the best for last - we sure have to give a compliment to the Chef 🧑🏼‍🍳Alessandro Silvestro Chef from Italy 🇮🇹. The execution was extraordinary and the deserts were fabulous. Will be back. Love it love it love it. 🥰😊 Fyi: if you looking for some great cocktail 🍹 this is the place to have it - we got 2 each and been very very happy. 😆😉🥰❤️

I’ve been here 3 times they are consistent in their food which is always good. I always like going up to the bar and grabbing a drink because the bar staff are great and always have good recommendations. There are some Great views But I will say the food is pricey for what you get.

Sunset Dinner at the window is as beautiful as it gets without the heat. The waitstaff is always great, longtime people who know how to please guest and understand the pace of dining. Friendly, lovely place always a stop for us when in town. Old Florida charm.

We arrived at the time between lunch hours and dinner hours. So we can only try the appetizers. But it's delicious appetizers and small plates. And the server is so friendly and nice. Definitely will come back to try dinner here.

The service was excellent. Didn't have a reservation so we sat in the bar area which was fine. We both had the specials, pork shank and mashed potatoes were good and yellow snapper. Both dinners were very tasty. I had the OJ special drink but I did not care for it. The Mac and cheese were very creamy.

Great food one of the best seafood restaurants in Tampa. Was there for mother's day and it was great! My family's favorite restaurants to go to for sure! Don't miss out on this gem. Doc says go here for sure.

I've been to Oystercatchers many times over last 10 years. The last time we had a family dinner there, I couldn't have enough of their fried calamari. It is soooo good. The service was impeccable.

The place is pricey probably close to $100pp assuming drinks, appetizer and an entree, HOWEVER, worth it. The views are absolutely spectacular, the service is impeccable with attention to detail, food was flavorful and fresh, and the ambiance was clean, tasteful, and enjoyable. It's a bit tucked away, but worth the visit. They do have a chef's table available as well, for parties over 13 people there is a smaller menu and minimum spend per person fyi.

Holy cow the food is so good! We had the calamari fries, grilled octopus, seared ahi, and filet with lobster tail. To drink we tried the lemonade something. Everything about this place is top notch from the atmosphere on the water to the service and food.

Brunch is fantastic- the lobster roll was fresh and had large chunks of lobster. The coffee is great and the complimentary bread basket includes sumptuous pastries. Great friendly service and the Al fresco dining is shaded and breezy. This is a really nice way to start a Sunday!

My wife and friends took me to dinner for my birthday. All I have to say is wow! It turned out to be a perfect night. The food was amazing and the service was just as good. I got the whole yellowtail and my wife got the lobster gnocchi. Both dishes were to die for. We followed dinner with dessert. Creme brulee with fruit mmm. I definitely would recommend Oystercatchers for any special occasions.

Close to a 5 star rating. My main dish was just a bit bland, but the service was good and the view of the bay is amazing. Bit tucked away and you have to drive around a bit to get here, but worth a visit.

The seafood tower--the best I've ever had. The flounder was lovely. Sat in a private dining room with an incredible view. Enjoyed it all. Worth it!
