This place is usually one of the places to go to for vibe and food experience in Hyde park. Don’t normally leave negative reviews but our visit was just subpar this time.. let’s start with the QR code thing, it’s great for covid but then it cuts out the whole server one on one experience, you are placing the order yourself on the page and expect your food to arrive. Any time we asked anyone for help or something it seemed like a bother and we’re diverted to doing it on the web page. Felt like it’s not fair to leave a 20% tip when there was no server really to assist us personally. Not sure if we went on an off day but just the food was bland, not up to the standards they’ve set in the past. A $1 dollar up charge for 1 slice of avocado seems a bit high to me. The mojito seemed like it has no alcohol at all. Their tacos are just a kids size tortilla meat of choice and cilantro. Where’s the salsa, the topping options, the essence of the taco. No sides come with your order unless you add it and even then it’s very limited.the staff was very plain almost as if spaced out. I’m not sure, again maybe we went on ah off day but it was Friday at 1:30, I brought a guest from out of town to eat there and hyped her up about it, left unimpressed, again at every just an off day

One of my favorite places on South Tampa. I have been here several times. You may need to wait in line so be prepared.indoor and outdoor seating available. Clean bathrooms. Medium noise level. They serve food at the bar too. I like the tacos. They are small. For me to be full I need 4-6 of them 😂 reasonable prices. Multilevel indoor parking is close by. I highly suggest 👍🏼👍🏼 I suggest it

Bartaco is a very nice hidden gem in the Hyde Park area. The vibe and ambiance was very lively for an afternoon lunch. The place can get pretty packed, but the food is worth the wait. My wife and I had the mushroom 🍄 rice bowl made vegan and wow! It was do delicious. We sat at the bar and our bartender was friendly and ready to help us out with the menu- thank you Christian. We'll definitely be returning to this restaurant.

I've been to bartaco quite a few times, but this is my first visit after the pandemic. Some things have changed. I didn't see the lunch special that they used to serve on weekdays. It was the 3 taco meal that was served with a choice of soup or salad for $10. I guess that's gone. They've also started using a QR code system that utilizes the OneDine app. But, you can still order from the paper menu and use the dragonfly card at the table to alert a staff member. The QR scan got us to where we needed to be. Ordering was easy, and you don't have to wait to pay when you're done. Service wasn't affected by it one bit. It was still great as always. As usual, you just pick whatever tacos you want. I was so happy to see that the fried oyster taco is back on the menu. It had been gone for the longest time. I also got the sesame ribeye, glazed pork belly (another favorite), and the crispy taco. The crispy taco is on their secret menu this month. I also had to get the duck birria with broth. It's actually a quesadilla. It can be found under the "Not Tacos" part of the menu. Everything was amazing! I think the only taco that fell a little short this time was the sesame ribeye. It didn't taste the same as what I remembered it to be. The ribeye was more like steakums. That was the only negative for me. The duck birria was so tasty. It had lots of duck and melted cheese. The tortilla part added lots of flavor and provided a little kick of cumin. The broth was tasty. I'd totally get it again. The rest of the tacos were just as great as the first time I had them. The glazed pork belly tacos are the bomb. I love them! The fried avocado was yummy. I also love that you can swap out the tortilla with bibb lettuce even if it is for an extra charge. I was also thrilled with the nojito mocktail. It's rare to find a mock drink that tastes like the real thing. This one had fresh squeezed lime with mint and sugar. No artificial flavors and no rum. It was so refreshing! The atmosphere is so beautiful and relaxing. It's open and bright. Lots of natural sunlight during the day. The booth seating is actually quite spacious. They have outdoor seating as well. It's a great place to meet up with friends and family. Oh, and it's located in Hyde Park Village where you can walk around and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather, or do some shopping on a rainy day. It was a very enjoyable visit!

This is an interesting restaurant indeed. I think I might be getting old as I didn’t quite understand the concept. The tacos were delicious and served well. We were seated at these tables that were knee high which I didn’t quite get. Definitely seems like a trendy place to have drinks with friends. My girl loves this place so we’ll probably be back. It probably would of been better if I actually drank alcohol but whatever, still a neat restaurant.

Roughly a 40 min wait, but you can walk around as they text when your table is ready(time flew). Appetizers were delicious. Spicy Cucumber salad with platanos and the side cream pair nicely. The guac, Roja(fav), verde and chips appetizer didn't disappoint. We were so excited, we ordered a variety of tacos (Baja fish, spice chicken Verde, chili lime shrimp, glazed pork belly, sesame rib eye, roasted duck). Sadly disappointing, though. Not much flavor, very little proteins and tacos were tiny. We also tried the kids steak quesadilla, which surprisingly was really good. Overall, it was a bit of a letdown but might return and try the peruvian style chicken. Staff was very welcoming.

We were craving for Mexican food and decided to try tacos at Bartaco. We went to the restaurant and the restaurant was very busy and waiting time was one hour and thirty minutes. So we decided to do a takeout of the order. We ordered Baja Fish, spiced chicken verde, mushroom, cauliflower, falafel tacos, corn wheels with cheese, chips, salsa and guacamole. We got our order in 30 minutes. We first started with tacos. The tacos were amazing and one of the delicious tacos we ever had. Our favorite one were Mushroom Taco, Cauliflower taco and Baja fish taco. Then we had our corns. The corns were juicy and freshly done. All in all an amazing restaurant with the beautiful decor and delicious food. But if you are going make sure to call them so that you can get the seating for the food.

Bartaco is one of our happy places in Hyde Park! I always, without fail start off with their freshly made Bartaco margaritas and fresh guacamole. When Covid hit and it was closed I missed them so much I found out their recipe to make at home LOL. Only 4 ingredients all fresh!! Another delicious one that has been my new favorite is their Mezcal margarita, YUM! The vibe reminds me of a more coastal than Mexican restaurant which I dig and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I also love that the food prices are very reasonable. Most dishes are more tapas style (tacos are about two bites). Which allows you to be able to try multiple items cheaply. I do recommend reservations depending on the time and day that you are going. They do get very busy. So when in Hyde Park on a date or just chilling with your friends stop in relax and have a margarita! Livinthefoodielife and Livinthefoodielife4u Salute... Pura Vida ... I had a good experience.The food and drinks are a bit pricey for the portion sizes. I like the concept of ordering your food via app. The food was ready in less than 10min of me ordering. All of the food tasted fresh. Let me you tell you, if you eat pork.....get the pork belly taco. It's amazing!! I'm definitely going back for more pork belly tacos. I had the key lime pie for dessert. It was very satisfying.

I had a fantastic experience at this bartaco location. Mario and Dan were the best bartenders I ever encountered, Their professionalism and expertise in crafting cocktails were truly impressive. They had an extensive knowledge of different spirits and ingredients, and their creativity in mixing unique and delicious drinks were remarkable. Not only were their cocktails exceptional, but their friendly and attentive demeanor made me feel welcome and taken care of throughout my visit. I highly recommend Mario and Dan to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable bar experience.

Anthony is hands down the best bartender you’ll find in the Tampa area. His customer service is fabulous and the drinks are always spot on. My personal favorite is the spicy mango margarita! You can’t go wrong. Also Derek, the GM, and Nathan, one of the other managers, know how to bring the party every single time you visit!!

What a great, fun spot with a cool vibe and concept. The greeter was so happy and really seemed to enjoy his job. Make reservations if you can, though we only waited about 30 minutes on a Saturday around noon. Shops are close by if you want to spend a few minutes until they call you. There are two ways to order... On your phone or via a paper menu. We used the phone and drinks and food were delivered directly to you. My favorites were the ceviche (appetizer) and pork belly tacos!

Overall really enjoyed the surrounding and atmosphere. The service was quick because you pull up the menu on the phone and order/pay on your phone then someone brings the food over. However, none of the tacos gave me a “wow” factor. Just average. Their line was super dry and some of the meat tasted dry/old. Their tres leches tasted like oatmeal and their churros tasted old/sandy. I would recommend coming with friends to hang out but don’t expect too much from the tacos.

My mom & I came here to celebrate National daughters day and bartaco did not disappoint! I love how convenient the QR ordering was and the staff that did approach us answered all of my moms questions about navigating the menu as someone with celiacs. I will definitely be back!

Best Pork belly tacos every!!! First time coming here with the family and it was AMAZING! The vibe has great energy and the tacos & spicy margaritas were fantastic. Customer service was spot on, Ive never used the phone app to order so it took a minute. You can basically order non stop and they bring it right out! Chef Mark came out to greet our table and you can tell he was passionate about his craft! Enjoy

BAR! taco!! So yum oh my gosh. First off, the vibes? Yes I felt like I was in cali eating near the beach. We sat inside which was a little noisy but also we were right next to the bar so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ could sit outside if you mind. The waitress and staff were so nice! They gave recommendations and actually cared what we thought of the food. They also asked about dietary restrictions which the menu talks about. All tacos are on corn tortillas so gluten girlies were good to go. The food itself was SO yum. Although don’t waste your money on the avocado/Guac appetizer it was literally mashed up avocado? Not guac? Highly recommend trying 3 or 4 tacos tho to get all the flavors. They’re small like they say which I love because I usually get stuffed by the two tortilla thing. I got the Ribeye, Lobster ($7 not $4 like the other fyi, and the Baja fish. Baja was my fav of that round but then I got the pork belly thank GOD. So yum melting in my mouth the sauce was immaculate. The Chile lime shrimp (my friend got) is VERY spicy so watch out. Overall, loved our experience. Would be back if I’m in town again.

Fantastic ambiance with creative flavorful and colorful food. Staff are knowledgeable and quick to answer questions. Clean and neat with a menu that caters to a number of allergies. A must if your in the area!

Spent $78 for 11 tacos and two drinks for two people. The most I have spent on taco dinner.. Tacos are very small..

I had the pleasure of dining at Bartaco which is a usual spot for me and the manager Chance along with Serena and Evan were amazing. I had family in town and I must say, they left a lasting impression. From the moment I walked in, their warm welcome and attentive service made me feel right at home. The manager's professionalism and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire dining experience, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. The waiters were courteous, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready to accommodate. The food, the drinks and the service made the night-out well worth it!

So this was a wonderful experience. The staff was great and our waitress (Amanda)was totally awesome. This was the first time here and she took the time to explain everything. I wish she worked at every place we went. The food was good and there were plenty of options.

The food was amazing!! The ability to order individually on your smart phone was very convenient when having separate checks at one table. Additionally, when ordering on your phone, you can customize your order privately vs announcing it to the whole table when speaking to a waiter. I would highly recommend this place!!

We have been to bartaco many times but today was our first time at this location. The food was excellent. Our first round came out very quickly - the second round took longer but it was also much busier by then. They are so kid friendly which we really appreciate. Great kids food options that you can order right away plus a coloring book. Our favorite tacos are the pork belly, fried oyster, and lobster (seasonal). The cocktails are delicious too. Highly recommend!

Good food but shoddy service. We sat at the bar. Bartender took our food and drink order. Got drinks about 10 mins later. After a long while another bartender asked us if we wanted food. We informed him that we already did. He found our order sheet on the bar in front of us. Said the other bartender never put in the order. He went into the kitchen and then expedited our order. Food was good. Hopefully management can use this as an opportunity to improve their service (which my friend who eats here often said it’s always slow).

Ordered a cauliflower bowl to go, said would take 20 minutes but took 37 minutes with the restaurant being pretty dead. Asked for no rice and extra cauliflower. To my surprise when I got to eat it that I got a lot of rice. $18 with tip was a little much for the little bit of avocado, cauliflower, and chicken I ate. The food itself was decent and the restaurant has a good atmosphere.

First time trying this place. Love the decor and how it’s opened up inside. Staff was really friendly. All the food was delicious and the Margaritas taste perfect! Definitely will eat here again.

Hands down for the food! We had chorizo, ribeye, pork belly and fish tacos and ALL of them were unbelievable!! Service wasn’t good. Was our first time and me and my husband had to figure out how the restaurant works because you don’t have a server taking care of your table. Manager came by and she was the one who helped us (really nice young girl) we’ll be back for food!

Great location, clean and a wonderful experience overall. I loved the way you order from your phone as you want more. No more waiting for staff! Drinks were amazing as was the food. We had several types of Tacos and Guac and chips. The staff was wonderful. The only issue we had was the guy sitting next to us was a Bro guy. You know every third word is Bro and every sentence the F-bomb was used and of course he is loud. The atmosphere was a 4 star only because I would like to see more restaurants ask these guys to clean up their language or leave. We had a Bro at every restaurant this week in Tampa. Anywho, this is a wonderful restaurant and definitely a destination spot! If in Tampa do not miss it!

Took my husband here for a birthday lunch yesterday. Was told the wait was 45 min to an hour which was surprising because there were open tables but we thought it was maybe a staffing issue as there is everywhere. Came back an hour later and they had clearly forgotten us. We were seated and then realized the QR code on the table was not only the menu but how we would order as well. The menu was simple- tacos, bowls, etc. The chips and salsa and guacamole came quickly- before a server even said hello. We were given our drinks, but had to ask for water. The taco portions were tiny. The fish in the fish taco was the size of a quarter. And one tortilla shell came EMPTY!! It was just terrible. No one came to check on us or if we were happy with our order. I felt like I paid for overpriced fast food. Not worth it at all.

Anthony is one of the managers here and he is absolutely amazing. He has so much patience and is so kind! He is one of the only reasons I keep coming back, besides the incredible cocktails of course. He really deserves a raise for his attentiveness, work ethic, and attention to detail. Any minor issue our table had he was was prompt, understanding, and quick to resolve. Amazing Amazing Amazing !!!

Although the atmosphere is nice. Service is always lacking. They only serve wine in a can and this is how the tacos were served. They were tiny servings, which is understood for their menu offerings, but messy presentation. Clearly they sat in the expo window for quite sometime because they were cold and the shells started getting that gummy texture to them. My entire meal did not come out at the same time, it was like 15 minutes apart and the other portion of the meal was raw so not sure how that wasnt first. It was a highly disappointing taco experience at $4+ a taco they could serve them warm and present them better or put them in metal taco holders. As someone in the restaurant business I would be embarrassed to serve this.

Went here yesterday with a friend! We tried the “secret menu” and it was an amazing experience! The drinks had fresh fruit. I had a mojito and it was PERFECT! Then I had a ginger drink that was non alcoholic and it was extremely refreshing. We ordered a chicken bowl and a pork belly bowl. You can tell the meat had been marinated! There was so much flavor. The peppers had a crunch to them when I bit into them. It’s the freshness for me! The lamb tacos had a little kick to them. Whoever is cooking KNOWS what they’re doing. The staff was very friendly. We never had to call a waiter over. They always came and made sure we were straight. Bartaco is located in a prime area. Hyde Park is a beautiful place surrounded by unique shops and restaurants.

Really loved the food here and wow, what a beautiful atmosphere! I agree, however, with the reviews about their ordering system completely eliminating that personal touch and sense of feeling like you're actually going to get your order. It's a bit odd, unfortunately. Will definitely be back, but hoping this component can be addressed in the future for a better dining experience.

I have heard about this place, and wanted to try it out. Dog friendly and amazing tacos, I will definitely be back! The pork belly taco was delicious I wish I ordered more. It had the best pickled red onions that I would have not ordered on my own but I’m so glad I tried them. Five stars and the vibe was great. Put this place on your go-to list.

It is an amazing place. Tacos are delicious, I especially loved the one with oyster! The atmosphere is also cosy, definitely will come back.
