If you enjoy good food, drinks and being on the water this is the place. Raw Oysters were fantastic (no grit) and the Famous fish sandwich was perfect (our choice - grilled with Cajun seasoning and substituted slaw for fries, delicious) Great service too. Looking forward to our next visit

Our first visit and we'll be back. It's a fun place right on the Hillsborough River with downtown Tampa in the background. Live music every day. Full bar, wine & beer. The food is priced right and very good. I had the fried oysters and they were the best I've had in years.

Fish and shrimps were very fresh. I like the coconut shrimp the most. The fish wrap were smaller than I expected. Sitting outside was very nice on a perfect weather day!

Docked the boat, came in for some grub. Inside and outside dining. Lots to choose from. The food was great. Place was clean. Service was excellent! Sweet old time Pac Man machine. Coin machine. T-shirts. A little bit of everything. They even had a cigarette machine! Blast from the past! Jukebox. Definitely going again!

Chill place. Sat without service, a drink or even a hello for 20 minutes. Was not busy at all inside or out so unsure why it took so long. Once approached by the server she was friendly and attentive. The oysters were fresh and the Catfish was amazing! Just wish there was a little more catfish for the price.

Ricks is a fun waterfront tavern with a fairly vast menu. Lots of seafood options, burgers, salads and outdoor bar. The staff is friendly and attentive especially Pam the bartender. She was super friendly and never let us go without a drink or help. I had the 1/2 Burger is was pretty darn good and not a pre-made frozen one either. Lots of tables and places to sit outside to watch the boats go bye.

Good little restaurant on the river. You can drive here, take the water taxi, or even bring your own boat and dock it for free while you eat. Try the deviled crab if you’ve never had it or of course their oysters. Live music in the evenings with a great outside area. Not fancy but well worth the stop.

Great local place for cheap but sweet raw oysters. The Rick's Famous fish sandwich (blackened) is great, so much so I had it twice now. The laid back environment of a beach bar is nice - walk to an open table, flip the service sign and you're on your way. The view is nice and there's a decent amount of covered seating outside. Service is always friendly and the prices are decent. Looking forward to more visits.

At first glance, a nice place, but you need to remember that this is a bar and you may like it only if you drink a lot of alcohol and you don’t care what to eat. It was morning and we didn't try alcohol. Very mediocre oysters and not a fresh salad, a lot of lettuce were rotten...

It’s local! If you really want to feel like a local and you are visiting Tampa, check out Rick’s. You can get there by car, boat or water taxi. Huge outdoor dining space. Live music some nights. Great food. It’s like a picnic with plastic cups, plastic forks and spoons and paper plates. And food is fantastic!

If you could separate the venue from the food this would be a better review in all honesty. We took the water taxi, and presently I require handicap-able access which required going around to the back of the building through the boat docking station and a grassy area to go up a ramp and back down a step. Then the bathroom is super tight where two people could not fit let alone me and my Scooter. Now to the food, Deviled crab - great flavor seasoned well Oysters - EXTREMELY FRESH, fantastic Castfish - no seasoning but fresh and fried well. Two people $58

Favorite place to meet with friends before a boat day! Easy parking lot, staff is friendly and quick. I love the fried shrimp basket for a quick meal, also the fish sandwiches (all of them) are AMAZING! Look for live music on weekends as well!

We ordered beers, Oysters, Clams and Chef Salad, Philly Chicken Cheese steak, you oysters were fresh and clams were delicious. The salad had shredded sandwich lettuce, which was strange but still fresh. The Philly came out hot and well seasoned. The service was good. The waitress was tentative and helpful. We sat outside, they have restrooms outside and inside and a lot of tables

I've wanted to come for years and finally got to it. My experience is limited but what I had was very good. No frills fish sandwich was right on point, ate half slathered with tartar and the other half with a horseradish based sauce, both very good. Oysters Rick-efeller were very tasty, I could have eaten dozens. Coconut shrimp were good. The place is huge, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor bars and dining, even a free dock to dock your boat while you eat on Hillsborough River. Great view while you eat and/or drink. Very reasonable pricing. Hidden away right off Colombus and Rome near the bridge on the west side. Great place to chillax with family or friends.

Not likely to return. We’ve lunch there yesterday - Saturday. The location is great, on the Hillsborough River, with plenty boat slips at 1:30pm. It has indoor and covered outdoor areas. We sat out. All tables are for max 8 people, benches with no back support. The service is slow, both drinks and food - got our food exactly an hour later. Our girl is gracious and lovely. The few waiting staff I saw, are young girls who wear tight outfit (not unifform). I would expect them to be sporty but instead, I feel lifeless. I yielded to a tall girl after bathroom. She opened the door and just left. Ok, maybe she was juggling two drinks on the tray ... I would use my body to hold the door for the next person IF my hands are occupied ... The foods: average bar food. I've Little Neck clams, the two pieces of toast are delicious. Chicken wrap is good. As we were leaving, a band came to set it up. One member wore a Brookly NY leather jacket honoring the fallen heroes on Veterans Dat. I asked him if he was from Bly and he replied a big YES -:). Then asked me if I'm from Thailand or Philippine. I replied, Africa. "Really?" Really sir. Thanks for these who have served.

We haven't been to Rick's On The River in a couple years because of prior poor experiences. It's too bad as we live just on the other side of the river not far from the restaurant. Had the day off and the weather was amazing and wanted to dine outside and stay close to home. Once we finally were approached for service we ordered our drinks. Appetizer came out and we had to go get our own utensils. Food came out and was quite good. Had server came back to us we would have ordered more drinks. At that point we decided to leave. So the reason we hadn't been back was because of service, so it may be another two years before we return.

Food was very good. Would definitely go back. Best waterfront restaurant I been to. The jacked up oysters were delicious.

Wings are a bit pricey…almost $2 a wing and very small, we order the Rick a feller oyster and they were good. We ordered the coconut shrimp and it was good. They had live music and the service was good, even though it was pretty busy. When I first come in, I was a little bit lost…there’s no hostess so you have to seat yourself, the table has 2 signs. A blue sign that says: no service needed and a red sign, that says: service needed. You will need to turn it to request a server and you need to get your own menu (this is if you seat outside) menu it’s in the middle. Food was good

Had some hiccups in my order but it was her second day so letting it slide... Anywho, the white sangria was delicious with my super cheesy jacked up oysters and flavor packed hot breaded wings! Tried the Deviled Crab, wasn’t my steelo but if your into ripped crab meat in the center of a breaded potato ball and cocktail sauce this may be a hit for you. Only negative was the massive flies that were super aggressive when the food landed on my table. Would recommend eating inside but then you’d miss the live music out by the river vibe.

Great place for a relaxed atmosphere and cheap drinks. Staff is friendly and helpful. Love the view of the water! And you can just bring up and dock your boat!

Everything we ate was bland: chicken, fish sandwiches (tried 2 different flavors), fish fingers, and french fries. The chicken and fish fingers were over cooked. The chicken fingers looked a little wierd. The fish on the sandwiches were sawgy and the texture made us question it a bit. The Broccoli was really sawgy too. I am not sure if it was because it was "carry out", but they gave us a really small cup of the fish spread, which was tastey. The ranch is super yummy. The place itself is really cool looking.

OMG what an amazing place. The food was so good. The oysters were great. When you go in it says seat yourself. Find a great spot overlooking the water and turn the sign to need help. Not the bathroom is not inside it is on the side but it is hot so be prepared. They can help with bigger parties and it is an amazing ambience. We will be going back there again. The staff was so friendly and attentive.

I hadn't been here in years but it was basically the same. The view is of the Hillsborough River and it was a beautiful day. I had chicken fingers and fries. My friend had a salad. Both were acceptable. It is definitely about the atmosphere.

My review is only for the oysters. The biggest and best oysters I can find in the Tampa Bay Area. Fairly priced. Otherwise, the menu is most bar food. This is a chill spot to grab a bite and a beer on a Saturday if you don’t have the patience to deal with the snobs/kids on the other side of the river.

Great food and awesome service. Free docks too! This is an excellent dock & dine location, with a bait shop and Freedom Boat Club all at the same spot! It was a little cold when we stopped in, but everyone was very friendly.

Hard to go wrong with a seafood restaurant on the water. I've been many times and the food and service are always great. This was no exception. The view of the river is great. Most of the seats are outside but covered. Sometimes they have live music. Definitely try it

Love Rick’s on the river! The location is tucked behind a quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking. There is boat parking access as well. You can choose to sit indoor, outdoor or at the bar. The scenery is beautiful, right on the river! They have an awesome food menu with options for everyone. We had the jalapeño poppers, chicken tenders and a fish sandwich. Everything came out piping hot and cooked perfectly. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We came for lunch on a Friday and it wasn’t busy. They do have a very cool sign to indicate the wait times for food from the kitchen, as well they have signs at each table if you are okay, or need assistance from your server. They had a lot of booster seats and high chairs available for families. I could also see this place being a go to spot on a Friday or Saturday evening. We can’t wait to go back!

Looking for a place to unwind and bird watch? How about just getting off the boat and craving a beer? Do you like seafood? Alright well what do you like??? Rick's has it all. Good service, great seafood, good beer selection, live music. If you can't find something you like at rick's you're probably a monster
