Happy with the food! Good queso and I ordered a rice bowl. Delicious! The margarita was on the small side but packed a punch. I will say our server wasn’t terribly attentive. It’s nice not to be bothered, but took just a few minutes too long for drinks and chip refill in my opinion. Also bathroom cleanliness wasn’t the best. I feel like this place is on the edge of being 5 star. But if you want good food and a solid margarita, not a bad place!

I enjoyed my visit to Margaritas, but I wasn't overwhelmed by the food. The service was good. We had a new waitress that seemed a little overwhelmed, but her attentiveness made a huge difference in my dining experience. I love Mexican food, but I'm not a huge fan of corn tortillas. She was aware enough about the menu and options to ask what I preferred so I was very grateful for that. The salsa was very underwhelming. It was so watery that I feel like tomato juice has more consistency. Very few if any fresh cilantro or onion remnants. The chips were ok, but a little stale. The "house" margaritas were very disappointing. I'm glad I got them on happy hour as 2 for 1 otherwise I would have felt really ripped off. They seem to be made with a mix as opposed to using fresh lime and natural sweeteners. During happy hour you get the deal I mentioned, but you have to get them at the same time which causes your second mediocre margarita to get watered down. The waitress asked if I wanted them staggered, but the manager vetoed that. The food lacked seasoning. Salt, cumin, pepper, etc..... very lacking traditional Mexican flavors I experienced in Baja and California. My food looked great and the portion sizes were appropriate. The exception was the kids chicken tenders. It was like they took 4 ounces of chicken and cut it very thin to make the basket look full. I would have rather my daughter had 2 nice portions instead of mainly eating flour. The thing that kept me from giving 2 stars was portion size and service. The decor is nice. The location is amazing, but the food and beverage are lackluster.

Haven’t been to Margaritas in a long time. It was exactly how we remembered it. Everything was delicious. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and wonderful view of Davis Island. Such a hidden gem and wonderful food. The spicy margarita made skinny will be your new favorite cocktail. #sunshinereviews

So check it out, I used to live in Tampa and this place used to be a different Mexican restaurant and it was my absolute favorite. So I have to tell you I was a little disappointed because my favorite restaurant was gone. I was told it didn’t make it through the pandemic and that breaks my heart. This place is good but it’s not great however I think everyone should make that decision on their own. I personally would not come back here however it wasn’t a bad meal it just wasn’t my favorite meal like before.

We were a large birthday party of 11 people. We had a reservation and they were thoughtful enough to not allow one table very close to us to not be seated so as not to infringe on our space! Everyone enjoyed their meals and didn't fuss over our several separate checks. A reasonable automatic gratuity was added which made paying much simpler. The menu is authentic and delicious. Parking was even okay with not much hassle. Our waiter was very patient and prompt. Other staff members pitched in to help clear our table which made gift opening easy for our birthday girl. A great experience. We brought our own cake and our waiter provided plates for us. Thank you for a hassle free family event. Will be back.

I’ve been to so many Mexican restaurants, but so far this was the best one. All food was very very tasty. The cocktail size is bigger than other restaurants.

I have eaten at this restaurant once a week for the past four weeks and in my experience any review complaining about the poor service does not adequately explain exactly how atrocious the service actually is. The good: The food is fantastic. Evenings, in particular when cooler weather is here, are a wonderful time to sit outside and enjoy the live music when it is available. I presume he is the Owner but the older gentleman who appears to do a little bit of everything is great. The bad: The service is atrocious. Of the four dining experiences so far only once did I have a server who appeared to have a basic understanding of what even an average level of service is and in all honesty he was above average. The other three dining experiences, and two of these occasions there were ten tables seated or less with at least four servers that I counted, were terrible. In each of the three referenced poor experiences each server apparently believes that once they drop off your chips, take your order and bring your food that they should never check on you again until you desperately flag them down or ask the manager or another server to find them for you after waiting twenty minutes for your check. No checking to see if you require a refill of drinks or chips or if your meal is good. You no longer exist once you receive your food. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is nice but absolutely not worth dining in until they either find or train a waitstaff that understands the bare minimum of service that should be part of a dining experience.

Margaritas has been a go-to for my family for almost a decade. My mom, a Davis Islands resident of 9 years, adores this place - it is her favorite. The food is fabulous- I’ve had half the menu over the years and have never been disappointed. I particularly love the chicken fajitas, the shrimp diablo and the shrimp fundido, and the ceviche. Of course, we also love the drinks here- a frozen margarita pitcher is the best kind of Davis Islands afternoon. The service is always fabulous- everyone is efficient and kind. The ambiance is great, especially outside. It’s dog friendly outside as well. It’s a great spot to spend some time with drinks and friends and good food. I highly recommend Margaritas. It’s also excellent takeout!

i would like to thank Margaritas and all the staff for the amazing service I received for my daughters birthday party. All the food and drinks were delivered perfectly and in a timely manner for all 14 of us. I totally recommend this place for any type of occasion. One more time thank you for your service!

The drinks were great and we were enjoying everything. It closes at 11. We were almost done with our drinks and about to leave and at 11:05 the bartender said we are ready to close and asked us to leave. We were actually about to leave but it is very rude to see someone is trying to finish up a drink and force us to leave. I will never recommend this spot to anyone and will never return. Very unprofessional and my husband and I were just talking about coming back but definitely won't. Horrible!

Actually, our favorite restaurant. Last Friday, my son’s birthday we celebrated a family dinner there, Next day, Saturday, family stopped in Tampa, on way home to Washington State, we took them to afternoon lunch there. They raved about the food and drinks. Don’t change anything. We love it as it is. Thank you.

Everything about this place is great! The staff is friendly and their service is top notch. Their atmosphere is also fantastic, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The food and cocktails are absolutely on point. I only wish I had room for more!

Got a Togo order. Coconut shrimp with dip are obviously frozen from a food distributor. The chicken quesadillas barely had any cheese, zero veggies, no sour cream l, lettuce or anything to moisten the dry awful food. Rice was unseasoned and dry. This was beyond half a$$ed made. Worst part was I was excited to find a local Mexican place for Togo since I’ve been in the hospital down the road and by the time I unpacked the food to eat it was too far to go get back in the car to take it back and complain with parking garages and everything. So disappointed.

Food pretty good, server kind, but the shining superstar was the spicy margarita. It absolutely kicked my butt in the best way with strength paired with a bit of spice. It perhaps might be the best spicy marg I've ever had in my life. Still thinking about it.

The portions for the Mexican egg rolls have changed and gotten much smaller but the flavor is still spot on. Love their shredded chicken like no other. But we did get a pitcher of light margaritas and it basically tasted like water and cost $48.

I called last night around 10pm asking if they can accommodate a party of 11 and the manager said he’ll start working on the tables for us. First of all, Margaritas’ manager is one of a kind, I thought he’s the owner from how fast he’s working and the absolute FANTASTIC customer service. we arrived around 10:20 and the manager took our orders without any rush, keep in mind the kitchen is suppose to close at 10:30pm. I ordered a steak fajita and it was absolutely the best steak fajita I’ve had. The entire table loved the food and service. I’m happy we decided to try Margaritas and we will be back!

This was the second time I have frequented this establishment. The first was 5 years ago when we forst moved to Davis Islands, the second, yesterday. The food was good. The lady serving us seemed like she'd rather be anywhere but at work. The atmosphere was lacking cleanliness. There were spider webs or what looked like piled up dust on lights and on wall decor.

Got charged $11 for these 2 sad tacos. They will certainly never get my money again. The cheese tasted gross, and it's one of 3 ingredients.
