Really amazing sushi and drink menu! They offer a wide variety of local beers as well as some solid chicken, steak and fish options! Definitely make a reservation and get the bread pudding for dessert! The service was fantastic and quick. The only downside is parking at prime weekend times as there are 4 major restaurants here. Happy hour specials are fantastic if you can make it during the week!

Our server Logan was absolutely amazing. He was so attentive and knowledgeable. The food, drinks and atmosphere were wonderful but Logan truly made the experience here one we wont soon forget. He was overall a fantastic server with a great personality. The sushi is always so good and unique from other places we have been. We tried the steak this time around and we're blown away. Definitely recommend Kona Grill! Make sure to ask for Logan as your server, you won't be disappointed.

I’d avoid visiting on Christmas at all costs. Togo orders ended up lost or 40 minutes later than the time told to pick up. There were dozens of people standing in the front, it was a madhouse. Then, a redhaired lady finally came out with Togo bags and sits them at the host stand. I had been waiting already 30 minutes past my pick up time, so I ask if one of them were for my name. This lovely woman proceeds to ignore me and walk away, so I proceed to continue to stand there. Finally, guests started checking the sitting bags themselves, to which I see one of them is mine and I’m literally standing there for no reason. You try to have grace, but it was an extremely unorganized and unpleasant experience. The cherry on top is that the food was horrible. Steak was tough and cold, even when taking directly to the car to eat it. All of the food was cold.

Tonight’s dinner went very badly although I was here once before a few years ago and it was very good. It was a rough start, as there was no table ready for us when we arrived despite having a reservation at that time. We were seated outside and both inside and outside were extremely loud with loud music, making conversation difficult. About half our party got their dinners (sushi) about 45 minutes after we arrived, but the rest of the food didn’t come until around an hour and a half after we arrived. A 7:15 reservation shouldn’t mean you eat dinner at 9. The sushi was good, the kitchen dinners were not. Despite the long wait, the entrees were cold but they were also not good. The Pad Thai, for instance, was nothing but undercooked rice noodles (some still crunchy) in sweet chili sauce for $25. Tofu was an additional $8 for just a few pieces. Overall, everything was extremely overpriced for mediocre food. The waiter then assured us he’d give us a discount on the bill for the wait, then didn’t. We finally spoke with a manager who ultimately gave us a $30 discount on the bill of around $350 — I can’t complain about any discount, but that seems insufficient to me. I won’t be in a hurry to return.

We had some amazing food and overall a great experience dining at Kona this evening. Michelle was a very attentive server and made sure all of our questions were answered. She recommended the Sunset sushi roll which was fantastic!! The kids meals are a great portion and come out fast. Also highly recommend the watermelon margarita and the surf and turf option with steak and sushi. Great vibes and food!! Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Edited to add: I forgot to post about the carrot cake!! Literally the best/biggest carrot cake I’ve ever had. A must try!!!

Food was terrible 😢 so oily! I don’t think the chef ever changes the oil that they fry in. All 4 orders had something wrong. We should have know when walking in the place smelled like a wet rag terrible!! Chain restaurants have dropped the ball. The server was great tho he took care of the issue as best as he could, but unfortunately the kitchen is just lacking in quality for the price they charge. Hope they learn and people leave true reviews about their experience, so companies this big can check their work before serving it.

Nice vibe, big place, great outdoor spaces on a small lake. I would recommend going Monday through Thursday for happy hour, otherwise it gets pricey for drinks and meals, both of which were on the small side. They didn't skimp on the alcohol though and the food was good. Quite spicy🔥 🥵

Visited on Mothers Day for the 1st time. Limited menu, which was slightly disappointing but understandable. Service was fine, food arrived rather quickly; probably due to a set menu. Fresh, delicious flavor in the Stir Fry; unfortunately, they lost a ☆ because of the drink wait. Server forgot to bring adult beverages when ordered. Service bar was packed and the 2 bartenders did NOT assist. Pricey but good.

Excellent food, excellent service. I truly enjoyed my 1st visit. They have out door dining too so thats a plus. My first shrimp poke bowl and it was good. The pot stickers were perfect too. Nothing bad to say about my experience and I would definitely go back if I was a local.

I was so excited to eat here but ended up very unimpressed and disappointed. Ordered calamari as for an appetizer and sent it back because it tasted like it came out the frozen food section. Margarita wasn’t good tasting as at all. My sushi was okay, probably the best thing i ate. Also had salmon which had no seasoning in it at all. My date didn’t enjoy his dinner either he said his chicken was over cooked. Ordered rum cake for dessert and looked so good but tasted horrible. Absolutely no rum flavor and no flavor at all. Tasted blend. Probably won’t be back to eat here. I hope your experience is better than mine was.

My burger and cheesecake. Picture speaks for itself. Check out the size. Also bun was hard as a rock sorry. They had issues with credit card machine and other customer service details. Only the fries was decent.

Great experience! I had a margarita soooo good, love the kids menu with 2 side choices, delicious food, waitress, clean bathrooms, my daughter forgot her toy and the server run after us...so sweet of him.

Not very good experience at all. Our appetizer the ribeye meatballs were cold. We sent them back. The new order came out and they might’ve been a couple degrees warmer so they were warm, but still not hot… At this point we were hungry, so we ate them. My wife’s entree came out hot and my entrée came out with the chicken being hot but the mashed potatoes and asparagus were cold. So I sent them back. They delivered me a second mashed potatoes and asparagus. This time the Asparagus was freshly cooked and hot but the mashed potatoes were cold again. The third time the potatoes were finally Hot. No Follow Up by a manager or nothing. Even our server did not come back by after that. We figured out that we had to pay the bill by the device on the table. So we did and then we left.. I guess we should’ve trusted our intuition when we showed up on a Friday night at 5 PM in the dining room was 7/8 empty. It appears that they are not doing well and so therefore the attention to detail is not there at all. Which is very sad because this could be a great restaurant.

This is a great place to have lunch. The food is excellent, the service on point, and the atmosphere is modern and swanky. I tried the chicken stir fry and it is delicious and filled with plenty of vegetables! Equally delicious and big enough to share is the carrot cake! It is homemade and filled with sweet icing and crumbly goodness! Love it!

Tampa Bay Restaurant Week. Kona Grill. On Boy Scout Rd. close to International Mall, an Asian Fusion and Sushi place in a part of town where good, great and amazing food reside. Prix-Fixe menu $35 for 3 courses. We had starters, Ribeye Meatball and a Picasso Roll which were both good. Followed by Salmon w/ Fried Rice that was great. Succulent and crispy, love that combo. I had the Prime Rib. It was very fatty, cooked just right and accented nicely by the prepared horseradish. To finish she had the Cheesecake and I had the Brownie w/ Ice Cream. Both were spot on. The place is large, an exposed kitchen, full bar, tables indoor and out. It's a casual ambiance and worth a visit.

Ray was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing!!! Everything that he recommended was delicious. The drinks were mixed to perfection with the right amount of spirit. Not to mention, there was a live DJ and she had the music selection on point. 🙌🏾

For Friday date night dinner I made a reservation at the Kona Grill - Tampa. When we reached at the restaurant we were seated by our server Jordann with menus and water. On Friday night it was a busy restaurant and whole restaurant was almost full. By browsing through the menu we ordered Moscow Mule for the drink, for the food we ordered Potstickers, Picasso Roll, Bama Roll and for desert we ordered Carrot Cake. We had to wait for 10 minutes before we got our potstickers. The potstickers were delicious and tasty. Loved them. After we got our rolls both Picasso Roll and Bama Roll. The rolls were delicious. We loved the Bama Roll. It was delicious and one of the best we had. After dinner we got the carrot cake. The cake was big and delicious. After the food it was difficult to eat the carrot cake. We togo the carrot cake to our home. The restaurant, service, decor and food was amazing. Loved the restaurant.

Kona Grill Tampa was an amazing experience. The environment was energetic and upbeat, the steakburger was the best ever, but the service provided by Carla was some of the best in the city. She was attentive, spot on with her suggestions, and made the dinner much more enjoyable. Oh, and the carrot cake was to die for.

This place probably should get four stars instead of three, but there is a few things that were very irritating being there. One the food was mediocre at best and the service was definitely lacking. It took forever to get drinks. Now I'm not saying we won't come back because there's definitely a chance we would. It was busy but management should be smart enough to know that when there's a football game you should staff up after the game. And there was some positives the drinks we did get were pretty decent all except for one which I believe they took off the bill.

I went to Kona for a birthday lunch, and I was treated like a queen. From the amazing drinks to the delicious food, right down to that decadent warm butter cake, it will be a birthday to remember. Thank you, Kona Staff. I gotta get better at writing names down. 😩

We were seated fairly quickly despiste changing our mind about where to sit. We reserved for inside but it was nice enough to sit outdoors and they accommodated that for us. The service was a bit slow but they seemed to be overwhelmed with the Buc fans. Hubby got a beer and warm sake for his drink and I ordered the Sunday morning cocktail which was pretty good. For appetizers, we ordered the jalapeño yellowtail sashimi and calamari. No complaints about the sashimi but the calamari was so salty that we couldn’t eat it. Then for our entree, my hubby got the surf and turf - crunchy spicy tuna roll with the NY strip, potatoes and green beans. The tuna roll was salted way too much so he couldn’t eat it, and his steak was over cooked. I got the sunset roll and it was delicious. We ordered more drinks (same ones from the start) and I couldn’t drink mine. It was made completely different than the first time. We got the brownie dessert and that was divine. We won’t be back unfortunately.

First time visit. Great atmosphere, the flavor of the food was great but the temperature was not. Everything was cold. Meatballs, chicken, miso soup, dumplings... everything was cold. Really unfortunate 😕

What can I say about Kona Grill? Highly recommended!! My waitress was outstanding. Elisa was attentive, friendly, funny, all around great! She was the best part about the entire experience! The atmosphere was very nice, subtle music, dim lighting, I could also glance over and watch the football game 😉! The food was delicious, not over or under cooked, great presentation, overall excellent experience.🤌🏿👌🏿.. Definitely my new go to spot. Ask for Elisa if you go, she'll treat you right!

We loved Kona Grill and Ray our server was amazing. He is also a bartender and made the most amazing Mexican Mule and Watermelon Margarita. It didn't even taste like there was any alcohol. The Swedish meatballs were our favorite!

This place is amazing. Our server DOT was amazing as well she always checked on our table. It was my sister birthday and she made sure that my sister enjoyed herself at the restaurant for her birthday. I’m so glad that I picked this spot for my sister to enjoy her birthday dinner at. We went to have brunch after dropping someone off at the airport. We had never been so we figured we give it a try. My husband had the steak and eggs and my daughter had the French toast. Both of their food was really good. I had the eggs Benedict, eggs didn't come out pouched...not once but twice. I had the endless mimosas, they were good when I was able to get one. The bar seemed like the hang out place for the servers. The restaurant wasn't very busy, maybe 25 ish people when we were there. Maybe lunch should be the better choice?

Tuna Tartare is a must to try!! But ask for extra chips. Delicious!! Carrot cake is the best I’ve ever had !!! I do not recommend the avocado egg rolls, they are an acquired taste for sure. But atmosphere great and all the servers are always pleasant!!

Jason was the best server! We were pleasantly surprised that they stayed open late and then getting the greeting from the staff that we got was awesome! Deshaun (the manager) was present several times and very nice. Will definitely be back!

Stopped by Kona Grill for lunch and had a great time! The staff went out of their way to find a gluten-free option for me. The Philadelphia roll turned out great. My guest and I will be returning and recommending this place! Sn: if you sit outside, there are beautiful turtles that might swim by to say hello!

I took my gf here for date night and we loved it. Walked into a very subtle dull lighted ambiance. The staff were friendly and the spacing was great, didn't have people right on top of us, plus the waitress was exceptional and i cant remember her name. We started out with drinks, I got the new old fashioned which had vanilla bourbon. Honestly just get a regular old fashioned as they are part of happy hour and there wasn't anything stand out ish for the new. The girlfriend got the sake sangria and that was really good. She could barely taste the raspberry (she doesn't like raspberry anyways) but it was full of flavor. Then we were split on appetizers so we got two. The tuna tartar and the salmon crudo, this is where we both fell over at how delicious it was. The tuna was some of the best I've ever had with the perfect amount of spice from the Chili Oil. Entrees we has the Chilean Sea Bass and the Surf and Turf. Mine was okay, really good steak with shrimp but a lot of fingerling potatoes. I'd recommend asparagus over those. The sea bass though was juicy, flavorful, light, decadent, just melts in your mouth. Desert we split (and make sure to split) the carrot cake. This was the star of the show. Jeez, what a cake. Perfect amount of sweet and salty with the salty glaze to the side. Just mind bogling how good. I will be back to try more of the menu.

This place is literally THE SPOT! Amazing sushi, tasty drinks, fabulous atmosphere, and great music! This will definitely be my new spot. Definitely worth the experience and you will not regret it! Best sushi and drinks I’ve had in a long time. My husband and I will now be here regularly. Best bartenders in Tampa, hands down.
