Scorpion

Tourist attraction Roller coaster

👍👍 This coaster was built in 1980. Overall this coaster is smooth for its age. Right after the loop you will experience a tight jerk as the train moves at a high-speed through a rough transition, the break run is a rough stop, and the final stop in the station is abrupt as well. Considering its history... People often mention ride, coaster, loop, good, Scorpion, wait, worth, great, short, rough,

This coaster was built in 1980. Overall this coaster is smooth for its age. Right after the loop you will experience a tight jerk as the train moves at a high-speed through a rough transition, the break run is a rough stop, and the final stop in the station is abrupt as well. Considering its history, and knowledge of a Schwarzkopf coaster, this one is still really good. The loop is smooth and forceful and the downward helix before the break run is super fun. I try to always get a ride on this one. I hope this coaster becomes an ACE historical landmark and it continues to live on. Being from 1980, the first coaster in Busch Gardens that had a vertical loop, it has significant historical value to the park. Python is gone, but I hope Scorpion sticks around. Wish I had a better picture to share, but not much going on here anyhow.

The shortest and seemed to be the oldest ride still running. But this was a good amount of track for the tiny space they squeezed it into. It feels very old school. Tight turns, a single loop, and it bangs you around a bit. Sometimes you can't beat a classic. Short wait too, so absolutely worth checking out.

If your kid is afraid of going upside down, Scorpion is the perfect ride to get them started. The ride has only one loop, and it's right after the first drop. There are no large drops. However, Scorpion is a forceful ride with forces similar to those on Kumba and Montu. It is also an older ride, so if you don't hang on tightly you will get jostled around. In my opinion, Scorpion is a great ride for anyone to enjoy and might spark a love for coasters in your kid in the same way it did for me, and I find this ride hard to skip due to my nostalgia.

30 years ago this became the first roller coaster I ever rode with a loop. I'm so glad that I can still go back and experience this ride today. Generally ranked in the top 5 in the world by fans of Schwarzkopf Loopers, the Scorpion provides not only a fun little ride, but the perfect ride for kids to use as a graduation from the kiddie coasters. It also provides a glimpse into the past, as when you are riding all the latest and greatest coasters, it's worthwhile to look back at how far the roller coaster industry has come in the past 3 decades. Hopefully this will get the ACE Landmark tag and kept around for good.

The ride is great and all but it made me a bit dizzy when i got off because of the ending but other than that it was pretty solid. It was a little shaky but it wasn’t that bad because it used a lap bar, which is not that great but that can’t change the fact that it is a very solid ride especially considering how small it is.

Not bad, but certainly not worth an hour wait. I would only recommend riding it if you have a quick que pass.

The ride itself was good, but the first loop was very rough and it kind of hurt.

Fun coaster that’s good for those who want to have a good but not too crazy transition to coasters that go upside down.

This Schwarzkopf steel coaster was built in 1980 and is the oldest coaster still working in the park. This is definitely a one and done for me but a cool experience for sure. You sit down in the train in the station and see you only have a measly lap bar and then you look over at the loop and wonder if you are going to fall out. Of course physics take over and you are perfectly fine. You do get tossed around a bit on the turns to hold on. Such a unique experience and I appreciate Busch Gardens taking care of this piece of history.

Ride is very rough. Some people love it, I personally don’t. I don’t think it is worth a ride especially if you are prone to motion sickness.

6/6/23. An old school short but very fun coaster.

Not worth the wait. Line looks short but the staff allow many seats to ride empty so it takes way longer to ride than it should. Ride is underwhelming.

Pretty cool for a kiddy looking ride, it had a lot of G force and a great loop. But the biggest problem I had with this ride is that it was too bumpy and I had a headache after I got off. I’d say it’s ok

Its a fun short little coaster and definitely a must ride for someone who is trying to get into rollercoasters, but I cant say its the best ride in the park. The wait times are usually always short making it a good quick coaster to get on and off of if you find yourself approaching it, but you are unlikely to try to get on it again on the same day, as it is very simple Overall, its a short, fun, simple classic that is great for newer visitors or returning enthusiasts

Short and simple. One single loop and some sharp turns. Was built in 1980 so it’s awesome to see this antique still moving ! I always ride it when I come to the park, it’s a good time.

I been on this ride twice now and I won't get back on it after my last experience. This ride is short and simple, but very rough. Honestly if it had more back restraint like the other rollercoasters have then this ride would get a 5 star despite the roughness. It doesn't tho. With me leaning back, head forward and prepared for the forces it still ended up too much. Knocked me to the side then the ride took a turn as it dropped which bent my neck to side and back. Needless to say I had mild whiplash afterwards by the end of the ride my vision was far from clear. Very very blurry ( Vertigo). My fiance helped me to table just outside the exit and sat for 30+ minutes to regain myself. I wouldn't recommend.

Classic Schwarzkopf looper and only permanent ride of it's type. I recommend sitting in the back; you get more hangtime on the loop and the helicis are more intense.

Ahhhh Scorpion... the old Schwarzkopf... This ride should honestly never be removed as it truly is historic. While it is just a classic looping coaster, there are only 3-4 left in operation in the world, with this being one of them. I am truly glad that Busch finally decided to show scorpion the love it deserves and give it a paint job! it looks 100000 times better! 'Feel the sting of Scorpion!"

Really nice cool for kids would totally recommend not the scariest ride and not the worst

Short, rough, and not worth waiting more than five minutes to ride. And have some aspirin handy. 😫

This is a really fun ride I really love the fact that its really violent and aggressive to people that have head problems I dont recommend though because everytime it goes upside my head gets pushed down out of nowhere its quiet violent if your having other issues you shouldn't ride this. (Btw I'm back making reviews in 2022)

Looking back at when i went it was a little unsmooth but it's great because that 360 degree loop is just the perfect loop. Its a little intense at the helix which is awesome

This ride is very old, but its still a pretty fun ride. its not really worth a 30 min wait though. (its only busy on weekends and mondays)

  • 5/5 Nate W. 1 year ago on Google
Scorpion is a perfect ride as a warmup. Not too intense and really fun.

  • 4/5 Zatoka 1 year ago on Google
Intense for sure, and the loop is great. That said, as it's old, it's definitely janky. Make sure you stiffen up before you go down the drop. Other than the jank, super fun coaster.

About an hour wait for a fairly old and lame ride. Employees could do a better job of filling the train. In one case, the entire back car was empty. Employees should be running two trains today due to the higher than normal attendance.

Its pretty good but this is something to do if you have time compared to other ones at this place. It's quick and goes upside down for a bit.

If you are looking for a short family coaster, go on this one. Although this is loud, it is really fun.

  • 3/5 Adam L. 1 year ago on Google
This is a very basic (and old) looping coaster that you don't want to bother with unless there is no queue.

  • 3/5 Inverted T. 1 year ago on Google
This is a pretty good classic Schwarzkopf looper with an intense loop and some nice forceful low to the ground turns
