We used this hotel for our family and out of town guests for our daughters wedding. We had 50 rooms for 2 nights, used their catering service for a large brunch and utilized their suites for the bridal party. Overall we would give this hotel a C- and would not recommend it. The management team was unresponsive and difficult to work with throughout the process. The rooms are dark and while we understand the history, not very accommodating or comfortable. Many of our guests complained of old mattresses and heating and air issues. Even though we spent a substantial amount of money with the property, they continued to nickel and dime additional billings after our stay ended (for example, any liquor consumed that was not purchased directly from them resulting in a $1000 charge). The brunch, which cost over $50 a head, was closed one hour early due to lack of food and servers, leaving our guests to fend for themselves. Front desk staff were ambivalent and showed no interest in helping address issues or make our visit noteworthy. The only redeeming quality was the proximity to the church next-door and hardworking valet staff. As a Marriott worldwide frequent traveler, I was very disappointed in this property. I hope this helps others assess and plan accordingly.

A unique and interesting hotel in downtown Tampa. Located in the former courthouse, a building with 100+ years of history. The public spaces retain that large, formal and even imposing feel…lots of marble, old wood, tall imposing walls and ceilings. They have worked to make those spaces inviting. The front lobby is comfortable with low couches and areas to read and gather. The restaurant is small but serves quality breakfast and coffee. The bar is easy to find and seat and nice for a nightcap.

Outstanding hidden treasure! Impeccable service by Chaz, who crafted flawless drinks. The food was exceptionally delicious and expertly prepared. We'll definitely be returning for both the delectable cuisine and top-notch service at Sal Rosa, the new restaurant in the hotel. Keep up the great work—we look forward to coming back!

Be very careful when you book this place. My wife and I booked here a month in advance for a trip to see the Eagles concert. They cancelled our reservation 3 days before the event siting “we oversold our property”! When I told them this put us in a bad position because this close to the event the available rooms and rates are not favorable they said “good luck”. Needless to say I will never book here again, nor would I advise anyone else to.

I have a twin sister of 17, and two parents to travel with. My parents had booked a room for my sister and I, and a room for themselves, MONTHS ahead of time. When we arrived, the front desk said corporate office had given up one of the rooms — a king side bed, the room meant for my parents — in about September (it’s February and we’ve arrived today) with NO CONFIRMATION WHATSOEVER (we even went back and looked). Service was kind at first when we were unaware there had been a “mix up,” but soon became unhelpful, blatantly unapologetic, and most unpleasant. The only room we have now is the one meant for only me and my sister — it’s small, not nearly big enough for a family of 4, and has 2 slightly smaller beds. I can’t share a bed with my twin sister, being a male, and both at the age of 17. Naturally, we asked for (and had to pay for) a cot, which service gave away to another room at first. So much for a “high class” 4 star hotel. Got a really nice waitress at the restaurant though.. shout-out to Heather, who doesn’t even work in customer service.

The Courthouse was for sure an interesting stay. The layout was much different then other hotels, including the rooms. The room was nice and clean. Sadly, there is no free breakfast ane overnight parking is a whooping 33 dollars I believe. There are no sheets on the bed so your body heat may get uneven during the night. Fortunatly, the hotel is very cold, so the no sheets thing wasn’t much of an issue. The gym is very fun, you can even play solitaire on the machines. Overall a good one night stay.

We had the pleasure of staying here for one night while we waited for our home goods to be delivered after we closed on our house. The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable. There's a restaurant conveniently located inside the hotel, which is quite good. The hotel is also pet friendly.

Had fun, ran out of time to use all of the perks, so we have to come back. Great sized clean rooms, Bike rides, drinks, ice cream for kiddies, heated pool, microwave at front just in case, valley that are so sweet, all staff are super nice not stuck up. Cleaning staff are always working and very helpful if you have a question or need anything. Just a 6 star experience for entire family.

Such cool building to convert to an hotel. I love their original marble staircase. Unfortunately lots of floor are under renovation, our experience here is compromised. We had a room in the back with small window, it feels like back alley. The rooms with large old window facing front is much nicer. The AC unit is not on a good location, blow right to our head. I had such headache in the morning. Most of the staff are very friendly, but I do see why other reviewers said some of them have this attitude that’s politely indifferent. You feel that is deep down they don’t really care what you think. Although I love the court house, this stay is pretty disappointed.

Central location in downtown Tampa, close to everything. Their staff is also the most helpful and cheerful among the few hotels we've stayed around here. We had a great time here. Only thing to note is that kids under 6 should be careful in the pool. Down the four stairs my daughter couldn't already stand so it was a bit dangerous once she stepped out of a stair. Parents should always keep an eye out.

This hotel is AMAZING!!! If you are staying in downtown Tampa don't miss out on this gem of a place in a former courthouse. Upon arrival the staff was warm, welcoming and so nice. Patrick and Kennie those kudos go to you! The valet guys were just as kind. We were taken aback by the beauty and history of this hotel along with all of the decor and details. When we walked into our room it was CLEAN, modern, sleek and super comfortable. We enjoyed the lovely pool which was perfect on a sunny Florida day. Housekeeping came without being asked which was nice to return to a clean and refreshed room. Location is great with restaurants nearby and walking distance to the convention center and arena. Thank you Le Meridian for making our mini summer vacay one to remember. We will be back to stay again once hockey season starts back!

The Hotel is very centrally located in downtown Tampa. The Hotel's vibe is unique as it is a remodel from a Federal Courthouse Building. The strong point of staying at this hotel is the attentive, customer focused staff. Our room had several problems. Fortunately, Evelyn, quickly rectified the situation and moved us to another room that provided us a good nights rest. Michelle, who works in the restaurant, exceeded our expectations when my wife had a chocolate cake craving and there was none to be found either in the hotel or in nearby establishments. She found a slice of chocolate cake for her and left it in a bag for her after work hours! Additionally, if you are looking for a good hotel restaurant meal with a trendy decor, The Bizou Brasserie was great.

Nice! Great concept for a hotel. A former courthouse that has renovated into a hotel. The staff especially Lalithia was so friendly. She told me about the features of hotel and Marriott privileges. I recommend this hotel to anyone that needs to be near downtown Tampa. And the room was large and comfortable.

For a popular wedding venue/hotel for wedding parties I'm appalled at how they accommodated our parties this weekend. The front desk staff was generally unhelpful in accommodating the size of our party, denying any requests for roll away beds or any alternatives so everyone could be comfortable. They refused to let bridesmaids purchase alcohol for the bride because a groomsman (staying in another room and nowhere near involved in the transaction) didn't have his ID, and we weren't assisted at all with our luggage or luggage cart by a bellhop but scolded by one for trying to return the carts. Hopefully they take better care of just the bride post wedding because they made it a very difficult and stressful evening for her before the celebrations could begin.

Very unique hotel with lots of charm. Great location and very good service. Rooms are small and beds are very low. Meeting space is good, but acoustics are poor in the main meeting room which is the original courtroom. Great bar and with good drinks but a poor wine list. Get a room with an outside view on a high floor.

This hotel was fantastic! I was blown away by the service of not only the front desk staff but also the valet, bartender and servers. The rooms were clean and its not your typical hotel, its full of history and just overall fun. Highly recommend. Whoever manages this hotel is doing a fantastic job and should be recognized.

A hotel that was a former courthouse - definitely interesting and unique. If that intrigues you it's worth your time to stay. I visited in early December 2022. I found my room to be too quirky for my liking - it was all the way down the hall with a weird step, and the windows were set high enough up the wall that I was unable to see out of them with any ease. The pool was lovely and under-utilized - went to it twice during my stay and I was the only person present for a good long while. Staff were efficient and friendly.

Great location, rooms are very nostalgic and were recently remodeled, very clean. Front desk staff was highly professional and made us welcome at arrival and during our stay.

I stayed here after a very delayed flight into Tampa from London. Arrived late and had to check out early, but the service was great, beds comfortable, nice showers and overall a good hotel. Free tea and nice coffee in the lobby in the morning. Great location- walking distance to shops/ restaurants

writing a review and sending complaints to corporate, BE CAREFUL when staying at this hotel, take pictures of your room before and after. we were charged 390 for "wine stains" ( we don't drink wine ) we opened a case and asked for proof - they closed the case and lied about the pictures. they ask us to wait 3-5 business days AFTER they closed our case so the charges would process. sneaky liars. we called again to reopen the case and filed a dispute another complaint the GM Patrick Fletcher is rude and unprofessional - may every email i send to corporate highlights this guys name as having him represent the hotel is a huge mistake

  • 1/5 Jules S. 7 months ago on Google
As soon as I walked in, I got a snarky response from the general manager. Be careful staying here, I was charged a "housekeeping bill" of 390 USD plus my deposit because of wine stains. This was a mother and daughter trip and neither one of us drinks alcohol. After receiving the bill I called in and mr. Patrick Fletcher, the manager, said that the charge will stay but he would provide pictures along with the housekeeping bill but did not receive it. I called Marriott and they told me to wait until Saturday sep 2nd which was the weekend after the trip for more information on the bill. They never sent anything so I ended up calling Marriott today after work since there was no response. Marriott claimed the the case was closed 2 days after. So they lied and never sent proof. Be careful of the manager and staff there. Take photos before and after

Went to this place for the first time yesterday for an afternoon event. Beautiful renovation, super cool vibe to the entire place. I entered through the main doors on the 2nd floor, but left through the first floor, which has an awesome shared workspace/coffee shop area.

It's currently under some construction, the only reason for the 4 stars. Got a corner suite which was plenty big. Nice bathrooms. It's a cool hotel but a bit odd getting around. Used the pool which was for some reason pretty empty. Great service.

We had a nice weekend stay. The location is great, the history of the building is cool, the room was nice and the Marriott people are solid hospitality professionals. My concerns are some of the choices Management has made. The bar and restaurant used to have a chic aura consistent with the building. Now it's been redone in a spartan beach theme that falls short of any vibe. The choice to consistently under staff the bar was also concerning. I saw many people come and go without any greeting or service. Not enough staff. The pool was squeezed in on the north side (no sun), but they chose to not provide any service at the pool which was disappointing. They have also chosen to price the experience at The Meridien at a premium. I personally think this property will ultimately have another interesting choice - price at as a nice Hampton Inn or step it up.

Nice hotel, nicely renovated from a courthouse. Lots of character. A bit pricey. We found out AFTER our stay that the hotel is considered the most haunted location in Tampa lol. No ghosts interrupted our stay.

I spent a quick one night here and really like the vibe overall! The interior design is definitely a big factor for me to put 5 stars here. The furniture and deco are carefully selected, love it! Ryan at reception nicely welcomed us and explained every amenity in details and arranged a quite room by the pool for us. If you get time, go ahead try to dining there. Latte and breakfast is great!

I live out of hotels due to work travel, exclusively with Marriott. This hotel ranks top 10. Very comfortable and the staff is great. Great view and centrally located. Valet parking is reasonable at $35 a night. There is a destination fee at $25/day which will buy you a good breakfast.

This used to be one of our favorite downtown Tampa hotels. We loved the location and charming history of the former courthouse. The room was nice and the staff that was present was kind and professional. My concerns with our recent stay include: the sterilization of the bar and restaurant, the lack of staff (barely can get service at the bar, no service at the pool and more), and the overall value. For a premium price, I did not feel like it was a premium experience. Too many other places to stay downtown to feel like it was not a fair deal.

Had our wedding guests stay here. Very cool location. Each room is unique. Aileen, one of the hospitality managers for larger events, was incredibly accommodating and welcomed us with open arms. Will definitely stay here again.

Really cool building in the heart of downtown Tampa, used to be a federal court house turned into a hotel. The architecture and design of the building is unique and beautiful and the rooms were clean. The only downside was our room felt very small. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and found it to be good value, we were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit downtown.

Beware of nickel and dime business practices. We came for a quick 3 night getaway for an anniversary celebration. The concept is very cool. However, we had a leaking toilet, malfunctioning in-room safe, malfunctioning refrigerator and our original remote control didn't work. The staff worked to address these issues, but the toilet still leaked and the delay on the TV/remote interchange was still considerable. There was also audible dripping from the a/c unit that was concerning and woke us up several times at night. While the location is excellent, I'm not sure that it made up for the disappointing amenities and malfunctioning basic items. The room had a stale smell and was underwhelming. The real kicker was the mandatory $25/day fee that was charged. We purchased drinks from the bar and had to get management involved to honor the $25 we were told could be used towards their goods in the restaurant/bar. Both the $25/day "amenity fee" and the $35/day valet fee incurred taxes as well. The staff at the check-in desk were quite friendly and seemed eager to help, although the help fell short from successful. There were more frustrations and grievances than high-points for us. I wouldn't stay here again based on the shady "amenity fee" along without the other inconveniences.

Wonderful hotel that was built on or in a old Courthouse. It has amazing inside architecture, high walls and rooms and old style fashioned furniture. Only bad thing was that the service stuff wasn't much friendly and motivated. For such an expensive and renowned hotel not what we as customers expected.

I just had to take a moment to praise the staff during Hurricane Ian. Luckily, I was able to rebook my stay, due to the hurricane, without hassle. Anita was responsive and helpful. Sunil, the front office supervisor was amazing!!! Easy to communicate with, friendly, and understanding. Again, a very smooth and efficient process. My dates were changed effortlessly and during a natural disaster, competence and simplicity matter A LOT! I will be staying there this weekend and if the rest of the staff is as great as these two, I can’t wait!! Thanks again Anita and Sunil!

The concept was wonderful-former court house; now a hotel-Wonderful! The common areas were lovely; the staff were competent and friendly. However, the room was not clean! The grating of the air conditioner was covered in dust and dirt; there were red stains on the white headboards; there was some mildew in the bathroom; the bathroom floor was filthy; the wallpaper, particularly over the beds, had been sprayed with with something and never wiped clean. It was such a disappointment-any time, but particularly during the age of COVID. Unfortunately- these aspects of the appearance of the room could not be overlooked. What an unfortunate experience, in an otherwise lovely weekend.

This is one really cool hotel. Marble and old school architecture everywhere. Not many places where you can literally walk up the Courthouse steps, pull the door open and step into a really nice bar/restaurant. Just one suggestion - remove the stop on the roll shades in the guest rooms so one can fully open them to totally enjoy the light coming through the huge floor to ceiling courthouse-style windows.

Thoroughly enjoyed this unique structure (former federal court building). The staff were friendly and kind, room was great (could’ve used a coffeemaker), pool was picturesquely situated with a nice cityscape view, and the bar was a treat too. Great downtown location close to the wharf and other things.

I did not stay as a guest, but was there servicing a system. The hotel rooms are striking, with tall ceilings on many floors and luxury linens. Some rooms have beautiful views. The building is an impressive piece of architectural history. Service staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even to a contractor that was not a guest.

Only a quick stop transiting thought from the airport to Miami, hotel was amazing old historical build, great location to the airport and downtown. Staff on arrival where very helpful and friendly for such a late check in, breakfast was prefect for super early check out. All the room are different dew to the building being a old court building, your room was massive for a standard room.

The good: Great location, very clean hotel in an officially registered historic building built in 1902. Friendly, attentive staff. Walk to a lot of downtown Tampa attractions. Very central location if downtown Tampa is your destination. Swimming pool and fitness center on-site. Restaurant and cafe too. Next-door to historic Catholic Church, oldest on west coast of Florida, built in 1905. The bad: No coffee maker or microwave in room. No ceiling fan either. You have to go down to floor 2 to get morning coffee. Maybe some of this is due to historic building status, I don’t know, but still, super annoying. Despite the bad I would definitely stay again. Cool place that doesn’t feel like a generic, common hotel.

Cool historic building. Here for a company staff meeting and the service and food have been perfect. Rooms are small as to bex expected in an old building but only sleeping in it makes it no big deal. Very nice furnishings and no old building smell. Great to have an espresso bar available on the second floor. Highly recommended for a corporate meeting location.

The staff were excellent!! The hotel was very cool. I recommend reading the information on the website about which pieces from the original courthouse are still used. It was super cool to see. Beautiful rooms. Latisha was very nice.

It's definitely a clean place you can stay and be comfortable. The bed was okay, the TV a bit small for the room size and parking is an issue unless you valet park for $35 but no major complaints.

Very disappointed with the customer service here. I flew here for a conference and needed to borrow a steamer/iron before my event but wasn’t able to get into my room yet. I had already checked in and applied my credit card for incidentals, but needed to leave for my conference quickly so I was hoping that they would be able to help me out. I asked Kenny at the front desk twice & he said no immediately both times in a very rude manner. Your one job is having empathy and compassion/customer service skills. Definitely won’t return or recommend to anyone.

Worst experience I’ve EVER had at a hotel. Used this hotel for my wedding room block. Everyone was either over charged, lied too about the room block not being available, or the rooms had issues. Secondly, I tried to pay multiple times for my photographers room and was told they would run my card info when she arrived and they didn’t so on my wedding day I had to deal with that. Then the front stairs of the hotel was taken by another wedding party for pictures so I had to take my wedding pictures across the street… literally the ONLY reason I went with this hotel and I spoke with someone who asked me weeks in advance what time I will be taking pictures in front of the hotel so they knew to reserve that space. After my wedding my top portion of my cake was given to the front desk to hold over night since my Suite Room that was $700 a night had a broken fridge. They took it and held it for me. I go to check out and ask for my cake and they lost it… literally tell me they don’t have it. I left super upset. Hours later I get a call saying the hotel found my cake and because I live out of state I couldn’t go back to get it I asked if they could same day send it to me and I would pay for it. I was told no EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR FAULT. Honestly Trash hotel. Only person who did their job right was Steve who helped us with our bags. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone especially people who have events.

Le Meridien is a beautiful and unique hotel in downtown Tampa! The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and large windows to bring in the light. The second floor has a great bar for grabbing a drink and even a illy coffee bar for a pick me up! I would recommend staying here if you come to the area as it is in prime location.

Our family had a great time at the your property, it couldn’t have been better. We were attending our daughter wedding at the Vault, another beautiful establishment in your area. We did have a bit of a crisis the night of the rehearsal dinner, it fell through, long story. We were in a difficult situation with need to provide a rehearsal dinner for almost 50 people. The made of honor was relaying the story to people in the bar and your Chef somehow received the story. She arrived, with a smiling face and sincere compassion to save the day. Her words were “ we can make this happen “ and she returned shortly thereafter with a menu that fulfilled all our needs. The staff were great, not easy to respond to a 50 person crowd. The service was excellent and the food was top shelf, we can’t say enough about you entire staff. Our family was truly blessed that evening, it could’ve been a terrible had it not been for the extraordinary efforts or your Chef.

Great location in Downtown Tampa. Cool hotel in an old federal government building. The room was nice but seemed noisy at night due to the AC system. The coffee shop was convenient with a decent selection. The restaurant on site is so so a steak I ordered was way overcooked. I tried to mention it to the front desk but they were indifferent and said talk to the restaurant. Ended up taking a 65 dollar loss on a room service steak that wasn't edible. The location provides for many other lunch and dinner choices that are within walking distance.

Pros:Overall this is a nice hotel. I stayed here for 4 nights. Great location, restaurant was great, most staffs are very friendly. Cons: There is a lady in the front desk was very mean. I simply ask her to arrange a housekeeping to my room, and I told her I forgot to take off the sign of privacy. She insists that I need to go back to the room to take the sign off or the housekeeper won’t clean the room. So is this a hard request for a 4 star hotel?? Another staff helped me to solve the problem at last. I just feel very uncomfortable with the customer service.

Ramona and Patrick at the front desk were so welcoming and made check in effortless. They offered local recommendations and explained all of the amenities of the property. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar where Rus kept our drinking flowing and the conversation fun! We had a great stay! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet!
