We had the pleasure of visiting Tampa Marriott Water Street with friends and family and had a pleasant experience. Upon our arrival, we attempted to check in, and we had reserved two rooms. One room was ready, which was for our friends and our room was not ready. We were offered an upgrade of a room which cost almost $300 more per night. If we accepted the upgrade, the room would have been immediately ready. This was a poor attempt to get us to pay more for a room. We received a message a short time later that our room was ready, and we stopped at the front desk to ensure our ekey was set up on our phone. The employees said we would receive a notification in approximately 20 minutes. Six hours later, we had to go back to the desk and found out the employee provided inaccurate information. After the check-in fiasco, the rest of our stay was pretty smooth. There are a lot of conference rooms for you to have corporate events or dinners. You could visit the giftshop which has most items you need at a reasonable price. You could also stop at Starbucks inside the hotel or even visit a few different restaurants. Very comfortable, clean. Restaurants (3) are very nice and food is awesome. You have Starbucks in the very early morning, breakfast and dinner all in different places by at the same Hotel. The river walk is very nice to wake up and do exercise. View was great. There it was a nice lady every morning, she was very happy and pleasant to help with questions. I stay for 4 night’s. Rental car place is on the 3 floor. Convention center was a walking distance from Hotel and other nice restaurants. Very very please!!

I recently revisited a hotel that I had fond memories of, both for its accommodation and the numerous remarkable events I've attended there. My experiences at the lobby bar had always been a highlight, which led me to arrive late one evening, around 11:30 PM. Despite the imminent closing time and the $35 valet charge, I was looking forward to unwinding there with my wife. Upon seating at the bar, we experienced a wait of about 5-10 minutes before being attended to, which was understandable given the busy atmosphere. However, when I tried to engage the bartender, my attempt to order was disregarded. He proceeded to assist other customers, visibly overlooking our presence. Having managed a bustling bar myself for two years, I was astounded by this oversight in service. Additionally, the staff's attire did not reflect the establishment's otherwise elegant setting. The casual, almost utilitarian dress code seemed more suited to a warehouse or retail environment, rather than a sophisticated hotel bar. In summary, while the hotel continues to impress with its stunning lobby and overall ambiance, there's a noticeable disconnect in the level of service and staff presentation. Aligning these elements with the hotel's high standards would greatly enhance the guest experience.

First impression was great. Enjoyed the stay. My last impression of this hotel will be waiting on the curb for over 45 minutes for our car after calling and using the text system for the valet only to find out that when it is busy and people are waiting in line at the valet ticket window, the call in and texts are ignored. The people at the window are helped first. So after then waiting in line for another 15 minutes i was told it would be another 45 minutes until the car would be brought around. Very poor system. Total time for our car to be retrieved was almost 2 hours. Why have a text or call in system at all.The poor valets are working there butts off so kudos to them. I will not come back until they fix the system. Lots of other options downtown.

Great place to stay. Great location in Tampa. Very trendy. Valet service is exceptional. Very nice and caring crew. Bar and restaurant was good. Service at the front bar was a little slow but the atmosphere made up for it.

Stayed one night for a Duran Duran concert at the Amalie Arena. This location is perfect. You can access the JW Marriott across the street via the bridge that connects the two hotels. This comes in handy if it's raining and you're trying to get to your room from the restaurants across the street. Three things we frowned about, but it didn't ruin our overall experience. First, they gave us a room closest to the elevator. It wasn't horrible, but would have preferred a room further away. We did not request a room near the elevator, so not sure why we were assigned one. Second, make a reservation at the Anchor and Brine. We didn't have reservations and the wait time for two people was about an hour. The bar was packed and it didn't look like anyone was in a hurry to leave. I asked an employee at the restaurant if the hotel does room service. She said she didn't know, but believed they didn't. Well, they do! So we ordered room service and got our food in about 30 minutes. Lastly, they valet your car. We read other reviews that it takes about an hour for them to retrieve your car and yes, we waited about an hour. So we requested our car while we packed up. 30 minutes later, we went to Starbucks, got breakfast, ate, then went outside to wait for our car. The timing worked out well. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you're going to an event at the Amalie. Walk down about half a mile to other restaurants and bars and to the aquarium. We would stay here again.

Super location. Good, clean room. 3 stars service for the following 2 reasons: 1. I called ahead asking if hotel could charge Electric cars and reception told me that yes, valet is able to take care of that, any make/model. Once arrived, valet said they only recharge tesla. 2. Check out was fast but I felt like really bothering the lady.

Great hotel in a prime location for visiting the convention center. The rooms are the nicest in the area (though I haven't yet stayed at the new JW next to it so can't compare them), and the in-hotel restaurants just keep getting better. Many rooms have a balcony, but the water view side is of course the nicer view.

A beautiful hotel with several bars, restaurants, friendly staff, outdoor pool and great views of the city. Our company held an event in the meeting spaces and ballroom, which were very spacious. The room was very nice and had a balcony on one of the upper floors. Great place to stay in downtown Tampa!

Tampa Marriott Water Street is in a great location with easy walking to some area attractions. Our room was modern and clean and we always love a Marriott bed! The view from our room was great and the staff was friendly on check in and check out. Wish we had more than a day there because the pool looked amazing. Great fitness area too. Hope to be back one day!

Excellent experience. Stayed here for a convention in January. Room was super clean and everything was functioning. Amenities for my room were nice (the mini fridge was a lifesaver), although I wish they included a microwave. Housekeeping did an amazing job on all three times. Every member of the staff I interacted with was helpful and friendly. Location is in close proximity to restaurants and more. I had a great stay and I recommend this hotel to others who stop by.

My overall stay was great, my review is based on the service that I received from the bar on the first floor. I ordered drinks from Brook and she was not welcoming at all, I thought she was having a bad day so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't until I noticed how cheerful and jolly she was to the couple next to where I was sitting, her attitude towards me was so bad I had to call over another server to wait on me. Andreas is awesome, he has a great attitude and definitely a people person, if I go there tonight I will avoid Brook at all cost, Andreas I hope you enjoyed the generous tip that you so well deserved. The hotel is luxurious with great views and if it wasn't for Brook I would've given five stars.

I attended a (2) day Business Owners Meeting & was extremely impressed. From the Front Desk CS to the gift shop & Starbucks, everyone I came in contact with was friendly & helpful. The rooms are spacious & very well kept; no "yucky stuff" in the corners or under the beds! Travelers, you know EXACTLY what I mean! The water pressure in the shower was great, another BIG business traveler pet peeve. The Meeting Rooms were set up with everything necessary; food was great & the banquet staff did an awesome job. Highly Recommend

Really great experience. You can't beat the location. The room was clean and had a great view considering we weren't expecting water views. The pool was great, it can be challenging to find a chair. They didn't care if we brought our own cans. The sign said no outside beverages but they meant glass only. I've never received room service so quickly we're talking like 10 minutes. We had chicken tenders and fries and it was just about enough for the 3 of us as a snack. There is a hotel store that of course is marked up but will get you what you need in a pinch. I have to mention the elevators, these things fly! The doors open immediately after stopping. 10/10

Shawn and zack Title: Exceptional Service by Shawn and Zack at Marriott Review: I want to express my deepest gratitude to Shawn and Zack at the Marriott for their exceptional service. When our car died, they went above and beyond to jump-start it, trying various methods until they succeeded. Their friendly and professional approach, along with their extensive knowledge, made a stressful situation much easier to handle. Their dedication and problem-solving skills were remarkable. We are immensely grateful for their timely assistance and outstanding customer service. Marriott is lucky to have employees like Shawn and Zack. Thank you!

Top notch service! Great staff and accommodating grounds. Visited all the restaurants/bars on site before our Cruise departure. Enjoyed our stay so much, we came back AFTER the cruise also! Connection to the JW via covered gangway was so convenient - went over for their pool and bars also. 10/10 would return when I’m back in Tampa.

This is hands down the worst Marriott property we’ve stayed at, including courtyards off the highway while traveling. This place takes the cake for a negative amount of stars on quality of service (especially the front desk staff), worn down rooms, poorly ran restaurants, and at a ridiculous price. The water in our sink and shower barely worked and even cut off completely several times, the cheap wallpaper was peeling off the walls, rust and mold were present in our room and common areas, the food came out cold and covered in grease, the front office superiors (in the suits) were unapproachable and discourteous, everything was outdated and I really tried hard but could not come up with one single element of this place beside the location to justify what they’re charging. This stay and property actually encouraged us to reconsider our travel accommodations for the rest of the year as we’ve grown to have a more consistent experience with Hilton or Hyatt. The pretentious and judgmental overtone of the staff here is ironic, as the nicest word I can find to describe this place is mediocre. Save your money or Bonvoy points and find another hotel, there are way too many great places in Tampa to settle for this.

Stayed for a work event for 2 nights. Service was amazing from check in to valet parking everyone was super nice. Breakfast was great. Lunches were amazing. Beautiful scenery. Very close to a lot of fun things to do.. I gave it a 4 star because my room had little sugar ants crawling by the desk area and by the bed.. I’m assuming its the rain and humidity as the ants looking for shelter but besides the ants everything else was great.

Came for a conference and arrived late at night. I did contactless checkin. Upon arriving in my room, I noticed a distinct odor of sewage. I was so tired I just laid down. By 4am it was overwhelming. I went to the front desk and the response that I got was that it was because the hotel is on the waterfront and during some hours it just smells like that. I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world to include waterfront. Sewer gas has never been a concern before. This severely impacted my experience. Not getting good rest at night means I’m not as effective during the day. To think that I paid money for that, is frustrating to say the least. This kind of experience is why I have a preferred brand that is not Marriott.

This was one of the best hotel experiences we have had in a while. Marriott did not disappoint here. - Rooms... Clean, big, nice view from our balcony. - Service... Everyone was beyond friendly around the facility. 1st class service. - Location... Great location. Close to UT. Close to downtown. Close to entertainment. We also loved the pool and the lounge. Amazing perks for loyal Marriott members. Overall, this may be our go to spot when we visit tampa.

One of the better Marriotts, two problems, they didn't make up my room 2 days and after six days I still don't have a copy of the bill. Not a deal breaker in either case. Room and hotel were great.

Staff was great. Room was nice with a great view. I found the hotel restaurants menus to be somewhat limited, but what I had was well prpared. Valet parking only, which meant a long wait for my vehicle. Staff said thay had over 500 checkouts that Sunday.

Krissy, Johnathan, and Kiana at the front desk were incredibly friendly and welcoming! They made our experience so pleasant, for this stay our fur baby tagged along and they provided treats for him and were accommodating every time we came to the front desk. Overall they made our stay at the Marriott ten times better!

Seamlessly stay in a modern space accompany of heart service and impeccable experiences. Located in the heart of TAMPA, the hotel is home to some of the best views in town. Their rooms with balcony overlooking the Hillsborough River will leave you speechless. Perfect spot to watch the sun set

I visited the hotel for an evening even, and this review will be limited to my interactions with the valet team. I must say, as busy as this hotel was on the night of the event, the valet team was absolutely amazing! Zach, Bernard, Marvin, and the gentleman that pulled my car (I forgot his name πŸ˜”) took really great care of me. It did take longer than expected for my car to arrive (darn Lightning fans!😊), but they were very accommodating. The driver that pulled my car was so kind and apologetic when he finally made his way to me, even though there was nothing he could've done to get my car to me faster. Traffic was terrible! I celebrate the valet team for their commitment to an excellent customer experience!

This stay was beyond and above what I experienced in service at other hotels throughout the US and Europe. It was on the tail end of a more extensive business trip, and I was surely tired and a more picky guest than average. All my requests were met promptly, with professionalism, hospitality, and competence. I'm leaving now after 5 nights, impressed!

Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Can't wait to go back. It is close to everything that you need. Loved being able to sit on the balcony and people watch and listen to the water at night. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and other social activities.

I have stayed at the Marriott Tampa several times before the JW Marriott opened and have always been impressed with the cleanliness, comfort, and service. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The hotel is also in a great location, close to the airport and many of the city's attractions.

The signature hotel in this area. Great views from any side of the hotel. Very gentle and professional services. Some aspects of the room could be improved, such as a leaking shower door and too loud door closing noises (every hotel room). Will come back.

Fantastic new hotel with a lovely view. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. There 1,000 attendees during the day but so spacious you wouldn't know. The Gala had 750 and the banquet was great. The food was delicious except for the chicken. It was dry but tasty. The room was luxurious!

I stayed here for a conference and was very pleased with how clean and comfortable my room was. I was even upgraded to a balcony room for no extra charge. The staff were very helpful when I reached out about the shower not draining properly. They planned on coming that night but I just asked them to stop by in the morning when I was out, and when I returned to my room later they left a note saying everything was fixed. I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is perfectly located in downtown Tampa. This is a great Base of operations if you are visiting downtown and especially if you want to go to the convention center. I stay here when we go to Tampa Bay Comic-Con and the convention center is right across the street. The hotel is very good very clean and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very easy check in and check out with courteous and helpful staff. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs, and pool access on the 3rd floor. Walking distance to a lot of great bars, restaurants, and entertainment.

Best hotel gym I've ever had. Wonderful pool. Poolside games. Beautiful huge lobby. Of course, the rooms are clean and well maintained. Glad I chose this for our trip!

I see a lot of stuff on here about it being clean but we have 2 rooms and both of them have small ants crawling on the table what TV is at. And there was a pretty decent sized blood spot on my bottom fitted sheet of the bed. The front desk staff was very nice and it is a very nice view. But there's definitely things to improve. And only a few of their employees know about the rooms and hotel. Like I said we had 2 rooms and things in my room didn't work and things in the other room did and I would ask the front desk and they would not know anything.

Came here for New Year's of 2022. It was a little packed in the valet, but other than that, the hotel was just beautiful. When we got inside, check-in was quick. The front desk workers were very professional and nice. They even let us check our a little later, and we also were behind on check-in, but they were understanding about it. The views from the rooms were amazing. Rooms were clean. There is a rooftop area on the 3rd floor where the view was so amazing also. I am definitely coming back here for New Year's of 2023.

First off staff is very accommodating and just plain nice. From check in to the pool or bar area we encountered only excellent service. Facility from the beautiful foyer area to the pool, outside bar or the restaurants are all top notch. Workout room is stocked like a professional gym. Room was new, clean and comfortable. Just a win-win stay. My only gripe would be at the bar seating area out back by the water there are no large ceiling fans or to that no fans at all. It got a bit hot out there at times. Id suggest nice fans to make more use of that beautiful patio area.

This is a beautiful hotel. My room was very comfortable and spacious. I was near a Water way, so I got to see a lot of beautiful yachts and boats. There were wonderful restaurants alongside the water way as well. Having a Starbucks inside the hotel was very outstanding and convenient. I would stay at this hotel again if I came back to Tampa.

Everything was very nice but you've got to know exactly where you're heading because the addressing down there is confusing. We had to circle the block several times to get in the proper lane, to avoid Railroad Street cars, to avoid crazy traffic. But once we got there everything was delicious and comfortable and clean. The GPS for that area with all the tall buildings was spotty.

Our room was very nice. We had what they call a Wellness Room, which included a HEPA filtration system, mood lighting, and a few other amenities that I can't remember. We had a balcony room with a great view of the Bay. Liana, the front desk clerk was very personable and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located near the Convention Center and restaurants along the water.

This hotel is so pretty and neat. The service was great from start to finish. A couple of the elevators were broken, and we had a large group, but that did not stop the staff from providing exemplary service. The lobby was gorgeous. The room was great and kept nice and clean. The fitness center was superb! It had cardio, weights, and even a section where you could stream fitness videos. The whole experience was fantastic.

Staff was helpful and informative. The pool was sparkling and the rooms were spacious. The staff were very nice and attentive, they always kept a close eye on children to make sure they were OK. The only two things was that we requested a car and we came down 10 minutes later. The car wasn't there and we were told it got pulled back into the parking lot. We then waited 30 minutes. This dinner was with a important person and it was very embarrassing showing up late. The automatic door also will say in a robotic voice "Please do not tough the door." Even if you aren't,it was a little frightening to the children. The Starbucks there was delicious and the hours and prices were very reasonable,so,nevertheless this hotel was amazing and it was countless accomodations!

We were here for a conference and the location is wonderful. It's right on the bay and the lobby is spacious. There is a bar/restaurant in the lobby and the bartender was very friendly. Check in was simple. I had checked in on the app but had to visit the desk for actual keys. The room was clean. Some cons: I requested via the app foam pillows, which we never got. Our door "broke" during our stay and engineers had to come to fix it. This required trips to the front desk, waiting for them to finish (they were very nice) and then going again to the desk for new keys. Because of this, housekeeping was not able to get into our room. We called down four times and chatted in the app twice trying to get towels and toilet paper. The shampoo/conditioner were both empty on arrival and never refilled, despite calls to the desk. We finally got them to leave us three towels. It was a nice stay in general.

Loved the rooms! You can sleep 6 in one room. Great for families with kids. The rooms have kitchenettes that include dishwashers, mid-sized fridges, sinks, and dishes. The soaps, lotions, and body wash were amazing. There was only one issue, the housekeeping is only by request, which I have no problem with, but because the housekeeper did not speak English I never got what I asked for even after calling the front desk to ask again. Other than that, this was a great hotel.

This hotel was perfectly located for the convention I attended all week as it was just across the street from the convention center. The room was very comfortable and the Keurig coffee maker in the room kept me caffeinated all week long. Nice perk. I also enjoyed the views of the bay from the hotel, though my room itself was facing the city. The lobby was spacious and a great place to talk with people from the convention. I would definitely go back and stay here again.

I am writing this review to thank the staff for helping me today as a traveling editor. I came into the hotel to do some work in the lobby on short notice. I was treated with kindness and found it very comfortable to do my work in the spacious lobby. I also went over to their restaurant just outside the lobby for a bite to eat; nothing but praise for the food and staff. They had a live acoustic guitarist playing original music, he sounded good, not too loud. If I find myself in the area again needing to do some work or a taste for seafood, I will definitely return to this Marriott.
