If you're dealing with the staff that is there at night time then you have good customer service but if it's the owner or manager horrible customer service he very rude. The room had poop on the toilet and on the floors so they moved me to the second room and it didn't have a TV that worked and there were several things broken and for a 2 1/2 star I'm saying that nice stuff about it the third room when I laid back to go to sleep I saw a crack pipe or some kind of glass thing under their for attics. I wrapped it up in a washcloth and picked it up and took it to the office because I didn't need my dog getting any of that in her mouth so I had to clean the floors myself and the toilet and I didn't even mess with the shower. These places say that they are animal friendly but they're not really animal friendly!

I was staying at the hotel and I got 2 non smoking rooms and both of them smelt like cigarettes and very far from what I wanted. Also, THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE SMOKING THERE AND IS VERY UNSAFE. This hotel gave me no blankets and the shower is so dirty. This is by far the worst hotel in Tampa

The was the absolute worst experience I’ve had in a hotel! There were MANY roaches in the room and and the top lock on our door was broken (which would allow unwanted people to come in). The area is absolutely horrendous! My party could not even walk out of our room without creepy men catcalling or calling us in to their rooms! While there is a security guard on the premises, it felt extremely unsafe! We ended up checking out early due to this! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! In fact I believe it should be deeply investigated by law enforcement!

I came here with my family and the rooms were dirty. The beds had stains on them. There is a lot of garbage everywhere you go it's so unsafe to stay here. It didn't feel like a hotel as there are a lot of residents that live here. There was a couple smoking weed and drinking in the pool. Homeless people living in the streets it's best to stay at a different location specially if you are alone or with children.

Genuinely the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. Room was dirty. There was dirt all over the floor, in the shower and on the sheets. When we asked for clean sheets non were provided. A very thin blanket was the only blanket over the sheet and it didn’t fit the bed size. There were bugs crawling on the floor. Only one lamp by the bed worked. People who were doped out roamed the property all night screaming, and fighting. You could hear people arguing outside at all hours. I mean literally non stop you could hear everything. It was a non smoking room but it reeked of stale smoke. I understand that you get what you pay for however it’s not like this was the cheapest hotel in the area. I don’t mean to be a Karen but this experience was awful.

Experience was horrible all the way around from other visitors on site yelling loudly (even though there are signs posted stating you will be trespassed for this) to the room not being cleaned well before hand. Something sticky on the floors & there so-called blanket on the bed looked more like a table runner. We ended up not staying the night even though we paid for overnight because we were too weirded out by everything & everyone hanging outside the rooms. We definitely felt sorry if a family with kids booked there & didn't read the reviews or knew the area.

This is my worst experience in my life at this place I went to go check in got my key went to my room there's somebody else is already in there so now I have to go back to the office and let them know so they try again we got another room the toilet was clogged the heat wasn't coming on this is the worst experience in my life I won't recommend anybody here bad location. I really have nothing to say about this hotel he did change my room that's the only thing but I do not recommend anybody to this place bad experience

Think twice before staying here! The room is disguising! Furniture is old and worn. Coverings on beds look like wrinkled drapes. Paint on the walls is marked up and dirty. Room smells musty and like smoke although it is smoke free room.The floors are so dirty I had a wet wash cloth next to my bed to wash the bottom of my feet before getting in bed. Half of the outlets in the room don’t work. No hairdryer in rooms. No coffee pot or drinking glasses in room. Primary language of hotel staff is not English, hard to communicate. We walked to a nearby gas station/Subway and passed several homeless people in the area. The elevator was dirty and had dirty socks in it. Observed men with women checking in, no baggage. Made me question hotel activities.

Disappointed, I guess I would still be waiting on the remote to replace the one that didn't work. Ask housekeeping to clean broken glass in my room they never came back. Was surprised about the cleanliness of the room. Don't get room near the pool, the traffic all night of people sitting on the stairs, multiple argument, yes security walks around. This hotel is more of an apartment complex . Unfortunate, the elements have taken over. I guess it was a good motel at one point. I know the owners have to make their money. Business.... I'm a person who can handle himself but that a little too much for me, looking to relax. The price was right when I made the reservations. If I stay again, I would stay on the outer part of the hotel definitely not near the pool.... Sorry

Came down here to visit family and I’m highly disappointed. As soon as I check inn before I can go to the room a security guard approached me and asked did I have a room there which I said I did. Then he asked me what room was I in after I showed him my room key and when I refused to do so he threatened to kick me out. The hotel room was nasty so I had them move me down stairs, The tv didn’t work and roaches was everywhere!!! There was drug deals going on from within the hotel by the employees. The maintenance man tried to kick everybody out that was outside looking at him, and he sell and do drugs. Security guards harass the customers to them either you are a drug dealer or buyer… the house letting was offal.. I will never go back to that hotel… the area isn’t safe and this is not a safe hotel for kids… I wouldn’t recommend coming to this hotel

RUN. I wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me. In the stress of a last minute family visit to Tampa, I booked what looked like a reasonable option for almost $100/night. I have no one to blame but myself for not doing my usual vetting. We knew from the moment we pulled in that this wasn’t it, friends. Seems like people live here long term, chairs parked outside their doors, smoking, chatting, cars pulling up blasting music, stalling for a few minutes before racing off. Seems like all sorts of transactions are going on here any hour of the day or night. The main lobby is closed at all times so you have to use the midnight window. The lady at the desk was nice. -Room reeked of urine, cigarette smoke, and weed. -Floors were dirty and sticky. Looks like it’s never been mopped. -Barely any bed linens, just a flat sheet and “quilt” that was the size of a table runner. -Door was battered from inside and outside. I put a chair up against it, not that it would do anything if someone tried to bust their way in. -Music blasting and people shouting all night long. Felt like we had a window open, that’s how bad it was. They had running water, Bar soap, and shampoo. Frankly surprised they had anything at all. I didn’t even bother inspecting the beds bc I was afraid of what I would find. Just stay away. Worst “hotel” experience of my entire life.

The most disgusting hotel room I have ever stayed in. I think people live here, loud music until 1am, people yelling and running around, broken down trucks, homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk, no coffee in the room or the office, the heater didn't work and the manager said none of the heaters work. Would not give us extra blankets, said only 2 blankets per room. Felt like they put a mattress cover over a box spring. And the bathroom was disgusting 🫣 I do NOT recommend this hotel. We paid $100 to stay here 1 night with our dog. She didn't even like it. 😕 we never felt safe.

Our room #220 upstairs was pretty updated & modern; very nice decor. Beds were VERY comfortable & I enjoyed my showers & personal grooming-time in their clean bathroom area. The staff were all absolutely quite gracious & wonderful; very helpful & gave us no problems throughout our entire biweekly stay. Would come again for sure (if ever again in the area). P.S. To future guests: Stay to yourselves & beware sketchy/seedy individuals hanging around certain corner stores nearby (the hotel). Don't entertain them @ all whatsoever; just keep moving. Keep your heads on a swivel & you'll be just fine.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT stay here if you value cleanliness and electricity. Our room didn’t have working electricity, it reeked of cigarettes (even though we asked for non-smoking), there were tents with homeless people set up infront of it, what seemed to be sex workers everywhere, as well as groups of individuals loitering in the area. Do not stay here. Please. Pay the extra $150 and stay down the road at Holiday Inn Express.

Made a guaranteed reservation for an after midnight check following a flt from MN 3 weeks ago. My home and Vacation Rentals were just coming our tent fumigation and would not be cleared to enter for another ten hours. Arrived to be told they had no reseration. Pulled out my app and then they found it. The room was clean, but offered littoe charm or warmth. This place needs a total redo.

The shower was clogged. The room looked ok, then I lifted the bead and the mattress was stained. I tried to ask for another room and was denied. Asked for new sheets and towels, and was told they did not have any. The front desk service is horrible. Tried to get a soda out of the vending machine and nothing came out. Called the front desk and was told that, although they have cameras there was nothing they can do. There are a lot of homeless people in the area, which hang out on the train tracks. I did see a security guard once in the afternoon, but I only saw the guard once. I asked the Uber driver about the area, and was told that that area is notorious for robberies and theft. The location is ok, but the people that run the hotel don't care about the clients who stay there.

Room was very disgusting… smelled like urine and cigarettes when they claim the rooms are smoke free rooms ! Crack heads knoxking at the door all night would not recommend at all … check your room before paying that’s all imma say !

Basic motel. Pillows were terrible. Bed was OK but not comfy. Room was cleanish but could definitely have been cleaner. Definitely could see how it could be a sketchy place but didn't have any incidences.

In all of the years I have traveled and stayed in various hotels....I HAVE NEVER EVER BEEN IN A PLACE OF SUCH INCOMPETENCE. Entered Room lights did not work, bathtub dirty, TV did not work. Approached office said would move me to the second floor even after told the man..rather boy bad hip cannot do. Would like to give a negative rating. Garbage on ground in front of several rooms. DISGUSTING...MANAGEMENT AND THE WHOLE PROPERTY

Do not stay here! Drug deals and party in the parking lot right outside our room. Rooms are okay at best. There was a big rip and tons of animal food under the bed. Though the tub was clean the toilet was not. I was threatened by the party folks outside anytime I took my dog out. Scary situation. Can't believe it's part of Choice hotels.

Home of dope dealers, dope fiends, tricks, and wanderers. People are hanging in parking lot and on stair case. Sitting along side and outside of their rooms in crowds. Couldn't enter room because of young guys "hanging out". Worst experience ever. Not as described on website or as seen in pictures. BE AWARE!!! DON'T BE FOOLED!!!

Great place to stay ! I’ve never had any issues with anyone (guests or staff) kind friendly people. They will go above and beyond . It does have its nights where it’s loud or you hear people screaming but other than that I actually enjoyed my stay here. Been here a little over a month

THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE FOR SOLO FEMALE TRAVELERS Do not stay here alone ladies, the attendant tried to enter my room while i was in the bath. He had kept my iD and was trying to return it allegedly, but if that was the case he definitely should have just called my room not unlocked my door. Fortunately i had the top lock in place so he was unable to get in. When i came to the door I was in a towel and he asked to see me naked. Please beware ladies.

I really want to put ZERO on all of the above. RUN FROM HERE IF you accidentally book this place like I did. Nasty place I WOULD NOT call this a "Hotel". I should have read ALLLLLL the reviews before booking here. Guest messages on reception windows all seem negative- Dont play loud music, No cussing, if you see the room/stay in the room for more than 15mins then you can not cancel the room.- WHAT hotel other hotel does this? This is the FIRST time I have ever seen this before. Check in lady not friendly. I drove round the back of the hotel on the way there, there was a man fixing his car on the property aka "hotel" I HAVE never seen that before either. Stairs to the room dirty, filthy, wireless speaker left on the stairs & nuts. So someones been sitting & chilling on the stairs listening to music looked like more trouble already. Anyway went to my room the door DID look unstable and that someone had kicked in or tampered with it- didnt look safe to me. Room was dark & horrible!! And had an ajoining room door that I didnt trust. So I left really quick & checked out and got a refund from Priceline. I did NOT feel safe. I did NOT feel comfortable there. SO I HAD!! TO GO & I did just that.

Staff is very helpful, always good about any concerns. When I got here there was a lot of people Loud all throughout the night, I went Manger and Manager took care of it. I am very pleased with the comfortablilty as well as safety. The staff every morning clean property and they do a great job with house keeping. From my experience I am well pleased during my stay. Please STAY AWAY from this place. For $170 a night you get a room that is falling apart, the floor looked like they just moved the dirt from side to side with murky water and is sticky, holes and hair( not from us) in the sheets and towels, there’s dirt crusted literally everywhere. Everything metal inside the room is rusted and the walls have smeared dirt all over them. Upon walking into our room it had a very strong smell of bleach we went out for dinner and when we came back the room smelled like cigarettes, now we know why they drench it with bleach right before you walk in. They charge an extra $50 a day for non smoking rooms , what a joke. The front lobby was closed so we had to walk around the building to a "window” to check in. The surrounding area is not very welcoming and definitely didn’t feel safe. Uncomfortable bed and the curtains and shower curtain smelled horrible and had clearly not been washed in a long while. I could go on and on but I think I’ve made my point. If I could give this place negative starts I would. Please do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else.

To add further to my review below... It's now the middle of the night and it has gotten down right scary outside around the room. I would like to just leave and cut our losses but the way people are yelling and fighting and driving through slow... I'm not wanting to walk to my car! How does hotel management allow this to go on?? What is wrong with these people??!?!?! You can charge people to stay here and expect them to put up with this???

So let me say this Rodeway has the potential to be at least a 4 star room it’s the cleaning of the property that needs improvement. Next thing their willingness to work with their guests and cater to them is what makes them 5 star ⭐️ Norris at the front desk goes Over & Beyond to cater and make sure guests are taken care. He is attentive, caring and accommodating. For that reason alone I will ALWAYS come back to Rodeway.

The service is great ! They work with everyone ! The workers are very respectful and very generous and kind. They make you feel like family. They have been very special and kind with my kids. They have help me no matter what and I have done your best at work with me. I’m very grateful.

They are extremely respectful nice and very patient and understanding with the guest. they will provide your every need and are always available to help assist the guest. The rooms are super clean. I would rather stay here before I go to any other hotel.

Great place to stay if you need to stop somewhere. Me and my siblings were in room 222 and the room looked nice and was cozy. Also, the staff here are friendly and helpful. Just beware of other people staying at the hotel and you'll be fine. Would come again.

My family was placed her for 6 nights. The staff are great! This hotel is coming up very well. They’re definitely under new management. I saw new beds being put in rooms. They were cleaning the parking lot really nice. They’ve hired security to walk the place. There are still some guests that just are ignorant and ignore staff and signs to not be loud. But honestly 98% of the time I was there it was quiet. The beds are standard beds. My only issue with my room was the latch on the door, maintenance could do a better fix. But the room and bathroom was clean. The pool was clean. The entire staff was great. We enjoyed our stay. They just gotta keep the bums out and they’ll come all the way up but unfortunately they’re located in the heart of them. No one walked up to me offering drugs or anything though. And I was able to stand out my door alone and not feel threatened. I was advised by another resident that anyone that pays should always get a receipt.

Please do not go there. This is the must awful hotel I have been. The door lock was broken. There were wired people all round the room. You can hear everything in another room,tge room were not clean and the environment was horrible. This looks more like a motel than a hotel. I do not recoment stay in this hotel at all.

If I'm completely Honest, the rooms could use work and maybe also a face lift ..the elevator is quite possibly used as a urinal (sorry folks that's true) for this level of a room, id expect to pay half as much as they charge...one thing I can say is they totally didn't have bedbugs! The room was full of cockroaches. The bathroom was completely dirty, hair from previous guests and it sucked. The sheets are dirty, stained and unwashed. The dirty reception, you could see the cockroaches walking on the floor. Many homeless and what seemed to be drug dealers in the area. We couldn't spend the night. We had to go somewhere else. We were walking as a family with my son, we didn't feel safe in the place. I tried to contact Agoda for a complaint but they didn't help me either. I lost the money for the stay. Definitely 0% recommended.

I came back to write another review so he told me in the office that I’ve been coming here for at least eight years that he knows about and I’m always complaining that should tell you something there’s always something wrong with the rooms there’s always something wrong so is that fair that I can’t stay in a good location at this hotel because you always have something wrong no you would think in eight years and really 12 years I’ve been coming to this hotel that they were finally fix everything and have everything upgraded in that long length of time. So don’t go and try to make me feel like I’m a bad customer it’s not my hotel and certainly customers should get what they pay for that’s all I have to say about that. Oh mad honey I’m not mad I’m more disappointed.

Do not rent a room from this hotel. Unless you are looking for a black mold covered room. I booked through Priceline when on a business trip which they advertised as a 3 star clean hotel. That was by far incorrect. Then both the hotel and Priceline want to deny the refund. Talk about bad business, I checked in, went to the room and checked immediately out. Even the guy at the desk asked why I’m checking out so quickly and after I showed him pictures he said oh alright.

It's good for the price great location the staff is friendly. The owner has been fixing it up getting rid of all the trouble makers. I see they have security on the weekends.

Maybe it's because we stayed there on the weekend Taylor Swift was in Tampa, but I wouldn't pay what we paid to stay there again. It is close to the Hard Rock and Ybor, but it's not the best hotel. It needs to be remodeled badly, and cleaned a bit better. Staff was nice though!

Super dodgy. There were what looked like blood stains on the sheets. Lots of drugs going on and someone in a room near us got attacked by a dog. We ended up leaving early because we were uncomfortable there

If I had a choice, I would choose 0 stars. This place is thee mostly filthy, unsanitary place to stay. There are people that hang around outside that watches you walk to your room. The pool was green, and the elevator surprisingly worked but had a stench that you could bare to breathe in. Do NOT stay here

This hotel was terrible. Do not stay there if you want to feel safe. It seems like people are actually living there and not like a real hotel. There were people talking and laughing loudly at 4:00 am. It felt like there was a party at 4:00 am. Rooms were dirty, the bed headboard was broken, and the beds were super squeaky evetime we moved. Overall, we felt very uncomfortable and couldn't wait to leave.

This was a sketchy area for sure. Hotel room wasn't horrible but we had no hot water and there were some stains on the comforter just. Looked like paint though. Really the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1 is because the staff was friendly.

This place may seem sketchy from the outside, or because of the neighborhood BUT it exceeded my expectations! Friendly customer service. Always very attentive making sure we are comfortable and satisfied with our stay! The rooms are spacious and clean. TV is a good size, mini fridge is perfect and also has a microwave. There is security which also Makes me feel safer. You will def enjoy your stay I know I did and will definitely stay here again! Thank you guys for making us feel great throughout our stay 😁

It’s not the most modern but honestly the staff made the stay enjoyable. They were super understanding and very kind. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something affordable and simple and close to attractions
