This is the grouper platter, that is worth 27 dollars. We ordered a large order for my family who were staying nearby. We ordered for 4 grouper platters expecting a large dish for our order. We did not get anything of the sort, we got 3. We called immediately, but I got put on hold. The second time I called, I had to wait a few minutes until I was told that they (the waitress and the owner who was also the chef) had counted 4. We counted 3, we were staying closeby and had to drive back to their resturant. The waitresses went back and forth between myself the 'owner' and for the next half hour I had to stand waiting. Until they then decided to give us our 'platter'. As per takeout I would not recommend their restaurant.

Fabulous food!!! Between all of us we had grouper, scallops, shrimp, crab legs, and apps. Their food is soooo good!!! They also have a very nice small patio that's right in front of the water. Our food was superb and came out hot. Our server was very busy but made sure to stay attentive to our table. This may be a small place but, make sure you don't pass it up. Parking is tight but I'm sure you can park on the street if need be.

I would say it was 3.5 star dinner. We heard great reviews and bad reviews so wanted to see for ourselves. It was okay. We sat in the back yard and it was not enough lighting to see our food, ate a large chunk of Wasabi thinking it was something else. No cocktails, just beer and wine. Red shrimp was large but not much flavor. Seared tuna appetizer was actually very tasty. Asked for French fries with our grouper, they didn't have it and brought tater tots without checking with us. We had much better grouper before, seemed a little dry. Not bad but also wasn't impressed. We live just a block away so wanted it to be better. Still better than Burrito Social.

The Grouper Sandwich!!! The very best I've ever had and I was born here! You can't go wrong stopping in for a scrumptious meal. It's the first place we want to go when hankerin' for fresh delicious seafood. Order from the blackboard for Fresh Catch! Our group enjoyed fresh Tile fish-fish fingers, Onion Rings, Roasted Asparagus and...of course....the Grouper!!! It's always dag gum delicious. Thank you John! See you soon 🔪

Small hole in the wall, blink and you'll miss it. View is outstanding. Food very good, beer is cold. Highly recommend the smoked fish spread and royal reds. Update...back again and was just as good as previous. Today had black and blue shrimp tacos, husband a Buffalo burger. Another good outing.

First time experience at Wahoo’s. Ordered the “famous “ grouper sandwich which was very good but the server Denise other than drop the food at our table couldn’t care less. Not even to come by and check on us. Even when we left the restaurant we walked right by Denise. We Didn’t expect anything but most importantly a simple “Thankyou for coming” would have been nice. MANAGEMENT. Pay attention!! The guest experience is just as important when you leave as it is when a customer arrives.

So incredibly delicious, we ate here twice in two days!  We have been here several times in the past, so it has been on our "to do" list each time we go to the beach.  However, this time, we went and tried the burger that so many people have told us we should try, and sat at the bar instead of a table or outside. Every other time, we have stuck with seafood dishes.  However, when we sat at the bar and watched the magic of the chefs on the grill, we were amazed and intrigued to try a few of their other mouth watering creations.  While sitting at the bar on Saturday, Sierra (fabulous and personable bartender) made a little extra time to explain some of their other dishes; like deep fried ribs (fresh smoked prior to being deep fried) and different ways to order the burgers.  On Sunday we sat at the bar again (my husband wanted to watch the magic on the grill AGAIN) and met the new owners, Kenny and Jeanette.  Both were super nice and Kenny took the time to discuss other dining choices and the various seasonings.  Since my hubby had been dreaming of the surf & turf since the day before, he ordered that and I ordered the Mahi Etouffee.  Even though we knew we would not be able to eat it all, we added a pound of peel and eat royal red shrimp and even got a few of the Mojo (Mo-Ho) wings.  Needless to say, we had a few to go boxes.... but ZERO regrets. I can not say enough about how fabulous each dish was and the melody of flavors.  We did take pix, since a picture is "worth a thousand words".  To sum it up, we used to consider two of the other restaurants on this stretch of beach to be our favorites and we would go to each of them at least one time each trip.  Not anymore!  Since this trip and tasting the variety of mouth watering delicacies available all in one place..... Wahoo's just knocked the other places off the map as far as we are concerned.

If you’re looking for the BEST seafood in St Petersburg look. no. further. All their seafood is caught fresh locally and it tastes amazing. Ray our server was the absolute best and made us feel right at home despite this being our first visit. 10/10 we will definitely be returning.

This Ol’ Florida joint is one of the few still in business in the area. We love the outdoor area overlooking the inter coastal waterways. The menu has plenty of seafood and some pub choices for carnivores. Now, under new owners but with the same crew in the kitchen. Plenty of deep fried options along with the much simpler blackened or grilled alternatives. Excellent timely service . We got the Fresh Tuna Appetizer lightly seared to perfection and the catch of the day platter - the grouper was excellent, the fries (one of the sides) crispy and light but the rice and been could have been more flavorful and with the beans fully cooked. You don’t go to this place for the sophisticated ambiance, you go for the authentic South Florida food experience with Cajun flair and casual environment.

Not only was the grouper excellent. The coleslaw was outstanding. Fresh. The fries and tots were cooked perfectly and hot. Waiter was prompt and friendly. Tentative. Visited 1/29/24 for the first time and highly recommend. All around perfect experience.

We always love coming to Wahoos they have the best food and great service. Tonight they were sold out of everything we normally get to eat, so we had to get something different. I must say that they really know what they are doing at Wahoos!!

1st time in Wahoos and now we r lifetime customers. We sat at the bar and Jake took care of us. Super nice guy! Knows the menu and history of this place which we really appreciate. The food was stellar. Jake recommended their fried ribs and the royal red shrimp those did not disappoint. The shrimp was so flavorful, tender and delicious! The ribs were just as amazing. The sweet chili sauce was spot on as well. The outside patio has a nice view of the water as well. This is a great gem.

We were recommended by locals to come here, and it does not disappoint. Stacey was our server, and she was absolutely the best. So friendly and informative. Seafood chowder was great! Mahi Mahi fingers were cooked to perfection. Blackened fish tacos were also great. The chef cooked everything perfect. Every employee came up to us to check in things. I would recommend this spot to everyone.

Awesome dining experience at Wahoo's! We love visiting the local "dive" bars while traveling and this was on the list and recommended by others. It didn't disappoint! We sat out on patio behind the bar and had amazing service from a very knowledgeable, caring, and fun server! She was very helpful with our food choices and loved it all. As many others have said, TRY THE GROUPER!! :) It was so good -- flaky and cooked perfectly. Their sauces -- wow! I hated to cover up the taste of the grouper but they are worth a try too. We will be going back before we leave the area -- loved everything about the place!

Scallops very good, coconut shrimp good but little over cooked. Grouper good but very small portion for price. Didn't get onion rings with grouper dinner. Told waiter Didn't get onion rings but still had to pay for them. Will not be back. Not very clean. Back doors to patio haven't been cleaned for weeks. Disappointed.

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch. Personally, I love dive bar/hole in the wall places with excellent food. If you are looking for a more upscale atmosphere then may not be your thing (unless sitting outside on patio). Man, the food was outstanding!! We loved the grouper nuggets, crab legs and of all things, the grilled zucchini was out of this world good. We will be back next time we’re in the area. This was our kind of vibe.

Favorite of locals. Known for their fresh seafood, Hearty chowders and bisques. There’s a daily specials board featuring seafood fresh off the boat. If you’re lucky enough to see smoked ribs or wings in the menu, don’t hesitate. Order quickly before they are sold out. There’s bar seating, A few tables inside and a few tables outside on the Inter-coastal waterway. It’s fun to see a couple of beautiful resident shore birds around the outdoor seating area.

Good local restaurant. Wife had grilled shrimp and I had grilled grouper. Solidly good but not great. However their coleslaw is made with a sweet and sour recipe that was just outstanding.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved Wahoos! Our waitress, Dianna, was great! She walked us through the menu and we loved all of her recommendations - especially the deep red shrimp. Dianna was so amazing that she even told us (vacationers) about many local restaurants and places to go. We will be coming back to Wahoo’s next visit!

Food and service were great. I ordered the grouper and it was cooked perfectly, which I cannot say for some of the fancier/pricier establishments in the Indian Shores area. Special shout out to our server Casey! She was so attentive, quick with any request, and was super sweet and smiley. Will definitely come back!

This will be the freshest fish you have on this peninsula. I live here I eat out every night. I come back here when I want good fresh fish. Currently I'm in love with the big reds which are massive shrimp. Seafood bisque is definitely not worth fasting up. The fish spread +top of the line. Fish fingers fish of the day whatever you order you can't go wrong. Great service good people!

Talk about a hidden gem! This place has phenomenal fresh fish that they bring in daily. They have their own homemade sauces. They have homemade tea. Everything they do is in-house and you can definitely taste the difference. I just went here for the first time last week and had easily the best grouper sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. They give you a thick, cut piece of fish, and it taste so fresh. Can’t wait to come back and see what other fish they bring in. This will from now on be my number one recommended spot for fish.

Fantastic spot that should not be missed. Lunch consisted of the blackened grouper platter served fresh alongside an incredible rice & bean medley that cemented this spot as a mainstay any time we are in the area. Service was exceptional, friendly folk everywhere and all-around welcoming restaurant.

Good food, might be the original as this is a chain restaurant but this place feels like the original. It was way too hot to sit outside but it was decent view of the bay. I ordered the blackened grouper plate and my friend got tile fish fingers. The potatoe salad was good and If I were to go back I would get the big shrimp (deep water Royal reds).

This place came recommended by the folks at Redington Beach Liquors and it did not disappoint! It’s like a typical Florida fish camp with tasty, well-priced seafood and picturesque seating in the back that overlooks the water. The food is spot on and the portions are generous. I ordered a Caesar salad with lightly blacked shrimp. Lightly blackened was really flavorful but not spicy. The staff is phenomenal. Each and every one of them checked in on me at some point but it never felt invasive. They made me feel like family, like a beloved regular. I will definitely be returning!

I've been coming to wahoos for years and the food has always been fantastic even though the service was not great all the time I would usually just order take out to avoid that issue. However just this week I visited with a good friend and everything was perfect. They are under new management and the service has made a huge turn while keeping the food quality intact. Can't go wrong with any fish you order from here, it's always fresh and well prepared. I like mine bronzed or lightly blackened the shrimp they had on the menu that day was delicious and a nice portion. I would continue to visit again and happy to see the place turn around! Their soups and gumbos are also delicious!

Heard so much about how this place had the best seafood in the area. Definitely was a dive, only about eight tables outside and the rest inside the bar. The menu was small, but my grouper sandwich was delicious. We got the coconut shrimp for an appetizer and it was very crispy and not overly sweet. So if you're in the mood for good fresh seafood and don't care about the atmosphere, this place is for you.
