Price gouging. The one star is a high rating simply because they engage in price gouging. I went there yesterday afternoon and ordered two beers that were priced as beers of the month. The sign clearly stated 5.50 per beer. When I got the check a little later it was marked up almost 50%. The server was embarrassed and said she has no choice because the owners raised the prices that weekend for an event. A warning in advance would have been nice. That is very shady. I am not even sure that it is legal. I want to make sure anybody asking for suggestions for places to go are aware that the owners engage in this sort of business practice. This will assure that all of my guests at my properties, as well as friends and family, do not make the same Mistake I made by going there. As an aside, after I left I went down the block to another place. When I sat down I asked if they changed their prices? The bartender said, absolutely not, and we know what’s going on down at Mad Beach. Apparently a lot of people came in there and made comments. As well as the quality, great selection but the beer is a bit tepid. You have to be able to tolerate a lot of smoke. You also have to understand that they allow, and participate in, gambling in there. I don’t care about that, but I know some people would.

Let me say this... My wife and I came here after purchasing many cigars next door. As I understand they are the same owners. I was excited to be able to have a cigar and a cocktail. Our "Bartender" Tonia seemed nice enough until I spilled my cocktail. Honest accident, definitely not intoxicated, especially on the pour of bourbon I received. I apologized and she said , No problem. Tossed a rag on the spill and walked away. I waited, and waited, and then cleaned up the spill myself. She never acknowledged me again, no offer to get another cocktail. Hmmm... I'm not one to complain so I asked for the tab and left. My wife and I have been vacationing here for years and this is our first negative experience. Most places are bending over backwards to impress their customers. We will not be returning.

The atmosphere is fun and service friendly. I enjoyed the drinks but what I didn't enjoy was the smoke filled air and higher then average drink prices. Ordered 1 cider 1 small mixed drink over $16 @ these prices won't be back soon. It is more of a tourist attraction so maybe that's how they get away with pricing.

We have been coming here for a few years and the bartenders are super friendly. Especially Kayla, Virginia and Evan! Great brews and have every sports game available to watch, we come here every year during our vacation and it never disappoints!

When I went to cash out, the tall, younger blondish bartender with a beard, wearing a backwards baseball hat, put on a big show about how he accidentally charged a woman's drink to my tab. After a 10 minute dramatic, academy award winning act on the phone, he told me it was taken care of and my account would be reimbursed "in a day or two." Never happened. We thought this was going to be our new hangout for our several trips to Florida each year. Not any more.

Good tap beer selection, beer menu board color coded by style. Sports and drama on TVs. Accessible rest area. They also own the Cigar shop next door and allow smoking inside, ugh.

Fun beach style bar with loud music and sports games. As a fan of craft beer this place has a few good ones.

Behind the bar, Kyle made me the best blueberry mojito I’ve ever had. And Nicole was so sweet and fun. Great spot. Wish I was local so I could frequent this great spot!

The Mad pub is located right on the walking strip in John's Pass in Madeira Beach. I Visited it on a Wednesday Night and it clearly catered to a local crowd. The bar is cool with the walls lined with aluminum signs (also for sale) and a very large draft selection. The prices were a tad high but to be expected on the strip. Our server was friendly but not very engaging and seemed to rather stand alone then to chat up her customers. Overall we didnt come on a great night to truly feel the bars full atmosphere but you can clearly feel that this place has great bones for it. Karaoke Tuesdays would probably be a blast.

Terrible place. Just for presenting my completely legal identification from Colombia, they denied me the service in a very disrespectful way. They asked me for my legal identification and not having my passport at that exact moment, I presented my Colombian identification, which was not accepted and they even asked me to leave this establishment. The United States seems like a charming country to me, but this place left me with a terrible taste, lacking in all manners and respect. No lo recomiendo en absoluto !!!!!!!!

This is a great spot to enjoy a cigar and they have some nice bourbon to boot. Kyle was great and attentive, with good recommendations for the 50+ beers on tap. Allie is very cheerful and kept everyone smiling. Tyler is very impressive making mixed drinks, he makes a killer mojito. Don’t hesitate to visit, it’s a great bar. Just make sure you pay the meter!!!

Best Mad Beach bar! AJ and Kyle were awesome bartenders. My boyfriend and I came here every night on our trip and both of them made us awesome drinks and had great attitudes. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

They have over 60 beers and they let you sample before you order! I chose the local beer Beach Blonde Ale. Very pleasant to the taste. Cool atmosphere of a real American pub. And they also have a cocktail "White Ukrainian" with Ukrainian vodka on the menu! It's so nice and cool. My husband and I will come here again.

We really enjoy the Mad Pub particularly this time of year when it slows down for a minute. I don’t really pay attention to what a beer costs at the beach but I’ve never been upset by my tab either. Sit, watch the palms move, have a beer and smoke a great cigar. Life is good! Our youngest daughter works down the way and we have literally spent time at almost every spot in the pass, this is a favorite. I wish I was there right now.

Very nice place to get a drink and some top notch bar foods. Play some games...enjoy the shaded outdoor area...that you can smoke in. We have been a few times and it never dissappoints.

My wife and I go to Madera Beach often. This was our first time to stop at Mad Pub. Great place, met the manager. Randle J. Lavigne was fast to suggest a beer. The man can read a crowd, nailed it! Thanks for running such a nice place.

We had the best time at the Mad Pub with Kyle and Zane. Very attentive and accommodating for any requests we had! We will definitely be back.

Great pub!! Super friendly staff. Bartenders make you feel welcome (props to Josh). Tiffany gave me a tip about universal that saved me $800 and I got a free night stay (thank you!) Ton of beers on tap. Lots of craft beers. Reasonable prices. Cool in there with great AC You can get a cigar from next door. Open to the sidewalk so isn’t smokey at all Overall great bar!

I didn’t eat anything so I could not rate the food….but the service was super! I was out and about shopping for a few last minute Christmas gifts and stopped in for a couple cocktails!!! Our bartender was Jacob and he was delightful, just a well rounded nice young man that made our visit so enjoyable! So nice to share a positive review today to give credit to the younger generation! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. This is a great place to sit back, relax, and smoke a cigar from the shop next door while you enjoy 1 of their 128 beer selections. Honestly they had a massive tap list and all in all the vibes were great. They had metal area you can buy as well with all sorts of cool sayings. I took one home myself. Dad and I were only planning on stopping by but ended up spending hours here enjoying the vibes, smoking our cigars and drinking a beer. I will for sure be coming back to this place either by myself or with people because it was a great time!
