First time visit to Metro Diner! Average prices. $10-15 a person roughly. Food was good, nothing spectacular but large portions. Good place to go with family or a group of friends. Everyone in our party ordered breakfast food and enjoyed it. The huevos rancheros was a little different and almost like breakfast nachos, still good tho. Service was good and the food came out pretty quickly! Not necessarily recommending it to my friends as a new breakfast spot, but we definitely would return in the future.

1st visit. I really wanted to like it but the omelette was underwhelming. All the meat pieces inside the omelette were chopped way too big. Eggs seemed powered. Hubbies sandwich was just ok. Fries were good and seasoned well.

Food is good, but I felt like it could've been great if it wasn't so crowded. I guess a Quality/Quantity type of thing. Our waitress Dallas was amazing and very Attentive! Though the food was overcooked, it came out pretty fast. I'd been waiting to go here a while, first impression not that great (food wise). **Edit** : Not to be rude at all. But most people wouldn't have sent it that way. So it's not necessarily on me to tell a "chef" the toast or bacon is overcooked. When by observation of others, theirs hasn't been prepared that way. As I stated, I feel like it was because of the morning rush and I'm understanding of that. I hope that when I come at another time you do prepare something that I will love. Thank you for your reply 😊

I have been to a lot of restaurants all over America and this is by far one of my new top favorites! We stumbled upon this place after going to another establishment and deciding we didn’t want to wait to eat. This place let us seat ourselves with no wait. Rosie our server came right over and gave us great suggestions on what to order. We wound up getting chicken and waffles, beef tips, and the shrimp and grits. The fried chicken was some of the best I’ve ever eaten and it comes with a spicy syrup that’s delish! The shrimp and grits was a whole new twist on the classic dish and I honestly don’t think I ever want to eat regular shrimp and grits again. The beef was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. They also make all of their own salad dressings and sauces! The ranch was killer! We will absolutely be coming here ALL of the time from now on! Absolutely must try this place!!!!

Benedict was perfect. Eggs 🍳 were amazing with the white being done and yolk runny....a hard balance for most restaurants to achieve, from my experience. I added on one pumpkin pancake 🥞 with all the toppings on the side so I could taste the pancake first. I dipped my fork in toppings occasionally. The pumpkin pancakes were phenomenal....soooo good! I highly recommend this location on Kennedy Blvd in Tampa. Staff is on point and were amazing during my visit.

From the outside it looks ordinary but come inside and let the friendly upbeat servers help you select an Extraordinary meal. The food is seasoned beautifully, the portions are ample and don't be afraid to try one of fantastic daily specials. Hint hint....the raspberry tea is refreshing. Their chicken-n-waffles deserves a trophy 🏆, served with a side of their special honey & hot sauce to dip your chicken is sure to delight every taste bud you possess. The Metro is always my first & last stop on my monthly trips to Tampa!!

Must check out this place if your in Tampa! Small dining area; however, the food and service are terrific! Tenisha was very nice and made good suggestions. Good portions for what you pay and cheap Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas!

This was the first time for us. We arrived around 1:30 and it was still quite busy. We were seated promptly and our orders taken. We tried the Shrimp and Grits, with loose grits, not the standard fried grit patties, and the Chicken Tenders. The shrimp and grits was delicious with a hearty serving. It had peppers, sausage, 6 shrimp, cheese and onions. It was quite tasty and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The chicken tenders were huge and the breading was good, but a little thick for our liking. The fries were average and the mashed potatoes and gravy were on the edge of being too salty. The place started to thin out about 2:30 so that would be a good time if you wanted to try it without the wait. We will definitely return. We did notice their sandwiches were huge and looked delicious as did the chicken and waffles. Give it a go...you will not be disappointed!!

Came here on a Saturday morning around 9. Service, food and atmosphere were all outstanding. There were only two of us and we didn’t have a wait. Our server was extremely nice and attentive. Food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. Got the chicken and waffles with strawberry cream. Very good portions for the price and get to choose if you want chicken boneless or bone-in. Also got the San Francisco eggs Benedict that were also great although the egg could have been more runny. Overall great experience and will be coming back!

For Saturday Brunch we were looking for a place and based on the reviews and ratings we decided to have brunch at Metro Diner. Regarding Diner Metro Diner is a diner which is filled with people enjoying the food. They have seating options inside as well as outside. Accessibility There is a great parking lot in the area where metro diner and there is also parking at the backside of metro diner. So there is lot of parking spaces available. One can park in the parking area and directly go into the diner. Wait Time When we went to the diner it was full with people and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes before we were seated on the booth. Service & Food When we were seated on the booth we were greeted by our server Chenin with menus and water. After checking out the menu and discussing with the server we decided to start our brunch with coffee and tea. For food we ordered Cheesy Grits, Chicken Pot Pie, Pumpkin Pancake and coleslaw. First we got our drinks which were coffee and tea. Both drinks were grounded and freshly made. The service was good and we got our food in 5-10 minutes. The food was delicious and we loved each and every food that we ordered. It was cooked pretty well and there are no complaints regarding the food. Amazing and beautiful diner with delicious food.

I came here for the first time as I was recommended their chicken and waffles. Their food did not disappoint and the customer service was top notch! Outdoor seating was available but we chose to sit inside, place is plenty spacious and well kept. This is a local gem. I will return and highly recommend.

I can definitely see why they have posted on the wall...."This is where the locals eat." This place is probably the best breakfast place you're going to find anywhere around. And the service was very fast and very friendly. I got the biscuits and gravy and it was absolutely loaded with sausage and tasted like it was made from scratch.

I didn't care for the breakfast here at all. The orange juice was nasty. The pancakes had no taste to them at all and had black stuff from the grill all over them. The pancakes should taste like something before I add syrup all over them. Received pieces of bread instead of toast. Only thing worth eating was the bacon.

Best diner in Tampa. I highly recommend it. The host, Brian, is amazing. We were a party of 7 and we were seated within 15 minutes. The waitress was attentive and the food came out quickly and it was good.

Went to Metro dinner Friday morning for a long overdue brunch date with my Boo. My first impression was it was busy a not TOO crowded but a steady flow busy. Which is always a good sign that the positive reviews were accurate. We were seated within minutes of walking in another plus, however please keep in mind there were only the two of us. The staff was friendly and attentive despite being busy which to goes a long way with me. I ordered The Brissel Breakfast which included two eggs over easy, bacon, whole wheat toast, hash browns, and a short stack of pancakes. There was nothing memorable about my dish. The word that comes to mind is average. I wasn't a fan of the pancakes...I love pancakes so I was a bit disappointed that they were more chewy then fluffy. However my boyfriend ordered the Friday special Fish and Chips. Which was amazing, the batter has just the right amount of salt and spice. It caused me to have a bit of food envy. I highly recommend this dish. Overall it was a good dining experience with a friendly and hospitable staff. We do plan on coming back soon to try their much-raved about chicken and waffles.

I have been wanting to visit for quite a while now but had not made the time... I was missing out and now regret how long I took to visit! The food was fantastic and the servings ample. Just look at that club sandwich! 🤯 The service was equally as great. I literally cannot wait to visit again and bask in the goodness that Metro Diner has to offer! 10/10 recommend!

We really wanted to like this place more than we did. The food was generally under seasoned, the waffle came with hard, not soft butter…and our waitress had a hard time finding hot syrup (they broke one of their syrup dispensers the day before). While the food was unimpressive, our waitress was very good—attentive and friendly.

We got seated after a wait of 5 minutes, our coffees and water arrived quickly, the coffee was fresh. We ordered the vegi omelet and the western omelet, and both were cooked perfectly and were big and very good, we got our breakfast very quick although the diner was very busy. My daughter could only eat half of hers, and I could barely finish mine. A great breakfast and recommend highly.

Came here around 9:30am on a Saturday. It wasn't busy when my friend and I went. There was plenty of parking. The staff was really nice and gave good recommendations. I ordered huevos rancheros. It was different but it was really good. There was a lot of food so I had the left overs. The ambience was good, we were able to hear each other speak.

Okay, so I don't have any pictures of their food but trust me this place is excellent as you can see by both of our plates being completely empty. Check the other reviews out and look at their photos of food. You won't be disappointed this is a chain but it is a small chain and in my opinion their food is spectacular. I recommend using their online check-in ahead of time because it's definitely busy on the weekends or prime time. We will definitely be back. Great service and great food.

Absolutely enjoyed my dish of fried grits. Sauce was creamy and seasoned without being too rich. Large portion sizes (2 size options, large pictured), could be shared. Shrimp were tender. They also serve Strawberry or apple butter. Well known for chicken and waffles.

Very nice atmosphere, clean and friendly service... We had a meatloaf and fish and chips dish and they were really delicious as if they were homemade. Definitely going back.

Love the Blueberry waffle with strawberry and banana on top! San Fran Benny is also super good! Casey was the best server and very sweet. Don’t forget to try the mimosas!

Very good! From walking in to walking out was less than an hour on Sunday right before Memorial Day. The place was packed but was seated in ten minutes. Food tasted great. Had our food 10 minutes after ordering. I had the Southwest bowl. Reasonably priced. This place is a well oiled machine.

The fried chicken was really really good! The waffles were delicious too! Who would have thought hot sauce and maple syrup was a thing! Yet it is and its soooo good!! Great fast service, clean and seating indoor and out. It was packed and we got there at 9am.

Our waiter was super nice and very helpful with any questions we had on the menu and special requests on our food. These chicken and waffles were the best I ever had. The chicken was friend to perfection, chicken was nice and juicy while the outside was super crisp with good flavor. The waffles were actually pretty good and better than most I’ve had. The strawberry butter took it to another level. The syrup they made for us with the hot sauce gave it the that extra spark. The coffee is advertised, very smooth with a great flavor. Next time I come to Tampa I’ll be sure to stop by!

Great food, awesome atmosphere! Chicken pot pie is incredible! Fish and chips is excellent with a little hint of pepper in the batter with fresh made Tatar sauce. Kari is phenomenal! Give her a few naps though… just kidding she has way too much energy but is a good ambassador for Metro Diner.

Wow just wow. We arrived close to closing and the staff was very accommodating. The food was absolutely fabulous at a decent price. The best shrimp and grits ever. Even my grandson raved about his meal.

I enjoy a good biscuits and gravy, and this place has it. Comes with a couple sides…I tried the hashbrowns and eggs with cheese. Portions are very generous. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating was available, and they got us in and out quickly.

Really good food and fast service, lots of options with breakfast for dinner. More importantly my party of 8 had all their food out at the same time and piping hot. Something for everyones taste buds.

I had made a previous Google review about this place based on a waiter that tipped himself with my card. Recently, the situation was resolved so I deleted my “bad” but informative review. I just recently ordered there ( For pick up ) and had a good experience with one of their waitresses ( Tenisha ). Overall, I’ve never had anything against this place besides one bad experience. I couldn’t stay away long and it’s because of these dang cheese fries! 😅 I love a lot of their food but this is it for me!
