I came to this establishment based on the good reviews but was very disappointed. The French toast was barely cooked and the eggs and potatoes were incredibly bland, tho crispy. I asked for extra crispy bacon but instead got extra fatty. Also, the server was friendly but forgot our order 3 times. Very overrated on google. Trips is a better bet.

This place is delicious. The chicken gyro and Greek salad were tasty. The Philly Cheesesteak was rich and meaty. The fries were hot and crispy. The pancakes were buttery and silky smooth. The Boston Cream Pie was creamy and chocolatey. They accept only cash for payment, so be ready for that.

As we enjoy finding new places to eat we were speaking with a local who highly recommended this establishment. Regrettably, this one just failed to make the list of definite return to spots for breakfast. Besides the fact that it out of our normal travel route and we went out of our way to give them a try the seriously cold and lumpy oatmeal was a major indicator that we were in trouble. Then came the burnt sausage links and blueberry pancakes that were over cooked and gritty. The pancakes actually had a cornmeal like texture and flavor to them. Our server indicated that they came with an abundance of blueberries cooked in and fresh blueberries on top. Well ours arrived with very few berries cooked in and we had to request a side dish for the ones that didn’t come with the dish as described. One plus about the place is that they now accept credit and debit cards for payment which is new from previous posts.

Great breakfast spot! Reminds me of old style roadside restaurants from 40 years ago.... Great food, decent prices, good service. The eggs were great this morning and the star of the play were the hash browns... Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Overheard a waitress tell some gentlemen at a corner table that she was going to bring over a new person in training to take their order and they had better be nice to her.. Loved that conversation!

Talk about a home cooked breakfast! This place is amazing! Great food and friendly service. It can get crowded but it’s worth the wait!! I had the hog omelet with hash browns and it was awesome. Coffee is good and the service is excellent! Highly recommend you check this place out!!

Another early start, I came to Mom's at about 6:15 am and there were a couple of folks there already. It was well past the beginning of the 21st century (about 2 decades) before they finally started taking credit cards, use to be cash only, which can be infuriating when no one tells you. Consumer friendly prices, foods pretty good and the service is quick, efficient and friendly. Soon after I arrived a large table of regulars congregated, talked, ate and laughed to begin their day. Good place to stop when your on the run. They serve breakfast and lunch only. Hours seem to be 6am to 3pm. Tradional mom and pop diner. Apparently mom outlasted pop.

First time here. Staff was very warm and welcoming. Loved the atmosphere. Food was amazing! Got some pan fried beef liver topped with gravy and onions. A side of hash browns, sunny side eggs, and the MOST soft biscuit I've ever had in my life. Was amazing and filling!

Classic no frills diner with an amazing breakfast selection! I had eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links and pancakes. Pancakes were nice & fluffy and tasted delicious! The service was spot on (I was sat immediately) and my waitress was very kind. Can’t wait to come back with my family!

BEST breakfast place in tampa, they were so busy but it was totally worth the wait for the food. Highly recommend and will be going back MULTIPLE times.

I want to start by saying I have very high breakfast standards and love breakfast. We were running an errand in Tampa so we decided to stop here and try it. The service was wonderful, but it was just in there and the food was okay. It was very greasy and I wanted to like it-I really did! It seems family-owned and I don’t want to bring anything negative toward the restaurant, but I had to scrape off a hunk of butter from my English muffin. And the prices were a tad high for breakfast and the coffee was really bitter. But our server was wonderful!

The first time we ate here (about four months ago), we thought it was a cute little diner. As time passes, they're just getting worse!!! They changed management and can't keep kitchen staff. Every time we go, its different cooks. We used to go two or three times a week, but after today, we won't be back ever!!! Today, our waitress was double seated and had a table of 13, she was busy!!! The inept hostess walked us by three empty tables to a table they hadn't even finished cleaning!! Like I mentioned, she double seated the waitress. After 30 minutes we got to order and then sat in the arctic cold blowing air. Meanwhile, people who came in after us already have food!! That's just insane!!! We paid for the chocolate milk we drank and left. You can't run a restaurant like that!! We even told the lady at the cash register and she didn't seem to care, didn't call a manager over, nothing. Sad they didn't try to keep two regular customers. The time before today, I ordered fish and it wasn't completely cooked in the center. I discovered this about two bites in and flagged the hostess. She took my fish, dropped it in the deep fryer for a few more minutes and brought it back to me. Most restaurants would have tossed it and fried a new piece. Pretty sure that's a health department rule. The food is getting blander, the coffee sucks, they're too worried about turning tables and not worrying about customer service. The customers are how you make money...no customers =no business.

If you like liver and onions, this is definitely the place to go! They have the best in Tampa Bay! So tender bursting of flavor! Smothered with homemade gravy and onions! Lip smacking taste! Just like Grand Ma makes. Served with fresh homemade mashed potatoes or fries, bread and the vegetable of the day. Topped it off with a large glass of sweet tea. Our waitress Deana was very attentive to our needs. So polite with a beautiful smile. To the Restroom. Very very clean and quaint. Well stocked with tp, soap and a hand drying apparatus. Well decorated with a touch of country appeal. This is a great little Restaurant that has been here on Dale Mabry for years. The employee's are always egar to make your experience at Moms Place a good one. 5 stars to the cook and this wonderful Restaurant with clean Restroom. I highly recommend you stop in.

This place is run with love and powered by family and compassion. Walked in not realizing cash only, and the owner's told me I could eat free and pay next time. What are these the nicest people of all time? I'm in and very happy to have decided to try this place. Mom's Place. My excellent meal tasted home-cooked and came out in THREE minutes. Coffee was hot didn't taste like gas station garbage. Mom's Place more than cost effective and tasted twice as great. Please stop by have some of this delicious food made by staff who cares, served by staff who cares, and ran by owners with love.

Delicious! Best pancakes and burgers we've had in a long time!!! Cash only (ATM on site) LONG VERSION: Found this little gem when I was craving breakfast-for-lunch, after running Gasparilla this year. At first, I was truly skeptical... Outside looked a little "ho-hum" and there were signs everywhere that they only take cash. When we walked in, it was warm (like the heater was still on but not needed kind of warm). We got a well-worn booth, that has the menus under glass at each table (great idea!) The waitress was cheerful, but not overly cheerful, which I prefer. Our drinks were brought out quickly, and or full orders taken quickly after that. It was fun to watch the interplay between all of the staff, be it the lady behind the register, or the lovely older gentleman who held the door for so many, or the guys in the back whipping up delicious food! My pancakes were so hot when they got to my table that the butter SIZZLED when I put it on! It was amazing to watch... I've never gotten an order that quickly before. And they were... HEAVENLY! The perfect pancake flavor. No extra malty or funky flavors. Just delicious pancake perfection. The bacon was about +1 too crispy for my liking, but still great. I added on a single scrambled egg for extra protein, and the best I can say (and this is a compliment, though it sounds weird) is that it was the best plain ol' scrambled egg I've had in a long time. It was scrambled nicely (no whites sticking out anywhere), not too firm, not too runny. I ate all my egg and bacon, but sadly ran out of steam about 2/3 of the way through the pancakes... My partner got a Ham & Cheese Burger, which we thought was going to be a Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich, but it was an actual burger with ham and cheese on it... SO GOOD! Who knew?! The burger was cooked to perfection. The fries were spot on. He enjoyed every single bite of his lunch, too! This is a GEM of a restaurant that I can't wait to revisit next time I'm in Tampa! (For transparency purposes, I dinged it one star for the heat, the funky smell, and the Cash Only policy... none of them are horrible, and all can be dealt with, but just so you know).

Early morning flight from ATL to TPA. Looking for someplace for breakfast. This place was rated 4.6, so we gave it a try. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. I had an egg white omelette, grits, pancakes & coffee. The omelette was really good. The grits were cold and barely seasoned, pancakes were thick and the coffee was extremely weak. Sorry, but I cannot say that I’ll return. It’s definitely a hot spot because lots of people were coming in and seemed to be enjoying their food. Just not for me.

Grabbed a late breakfast before heading to the airport for our flight home. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Very good, reasonably priced food - the hotcakes were delicious!

Delicious food at great price! This definitely gives the feeling of a classic diner- I love the cozy atmosphere. All staff were so friendly and helpful and the service was quick, even though it was quite busy.

If there was a place that should be named Mom’s Place then Mom’s Place qualifies. I wondered if my mom was in that kitchen making breakfast. If you are looking for home cooking that taste like your mother’s southern breakfast then this is your place. The steak and eggs were delicious and the Oreo pancakes were per dessert. We also had the bacon egg and cheese omelette with hashbrowns. These portions are huge and service is amazing.

The service was great! Coffee was always kept topped off. The food was okay. Hubby said his country fried streak was good. My bacon was SUPER salty. The biscuits and "sausage" gravy weren't anything to write home about. The eggs, on the other hand, were perfect. The restroom was very clean.

Great food in a mom and pop diner. Good prices as well. I had the bacon cheeseburger deluxe, maybe the best I ever had

This is a small, 50's diner feel. The food was great and huge portions. The biscuits and gravy were definitely a winner! My son always asks for his bacon very well done and crispy and they got it perfect! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only issue I have is that they do not accept American Express. That's typically the only card I pay with. It was very busy when we went. Apparently there was a spring training game happening later. I'm not into baseball, but for those who are, I hear a lot of the pro players visit this place!

My niece had a club sandwich, my wife had Nutella French toast and I had eggs with biscuits and gravy. Everyone left full and happy. The price was reasonable and our server was excellent. Perfect diner experience.

Absolutely great diner! Coffee was delicious, note I drink it black. I ordered the western omelette with home fries and white toast. Everything was so good. This is a place many Yankee players visit before spring training practice and/or games. Staff is friendly, dress is casual, prices are fair.

This place had really great food. I had a cheeseburger that was awesome. My husband had the waffle with strawberries. Everything was awesome until it came time to pay. They only take cash people they do have a ATM machine but that cost money. So just know that before you go and bring cash because it is great!! Great service too. Like to mention this is a diner not fancy but with great food and great service u won't be disappointed

Had a nice breakfast at Mom’s place last weekend. We’re locals and never knew about this gem. Food was great! You must go early because they get very crowded. Service was also good! Prices are great too. Full breakfast for 2 adults was under $20. You can’t get that at most places. Don’t miss out on Mom’s place!
