So I get it: “You get what you pay for,” but no. You can have cheap and clean at the same time. This was neither. Frequent traveler here and I booked this place because I missed a flight and needed a bed. I’m easy going and usually don’t bother to complain if I can see that a place tried. The effort was not here. The room smelled awful (possibly mildew), the floor, ceiling, corners, tubs, etc. were all very dirty. The windows seemed to have not been cleaned in months. The sheets were stained and the bathroom “fart fan” was hanging from the ceiling by a wire. Granted, I never expected the Ritz, but I do expect clean. This place wasn’t clean and it seems to be nothing more than lack of detail and care in whoever cleaned my room before I stayed in it. You don’t have to spend loads of money to have a sanitary environment.

Girl at front desk is only employee that is nice and belongs in hospitality. Everybody else is horrible and on a major power Trip exercising their power every chance they get. Rooms are discussing there's stuff dripping down the Walls cockroaches everywhere everything is sticky everything smells it's absolutely deplorable. They decide who gets to pay a good rate and who gets to get overcharged they had me paying almost double the normal rate of other guests just because. With the nastiness of the rooms if they were cheap it would almost compensate but the fact that they charge so much for discussing rooms it's an all in all horrible experience.

Blankets and bedsheets frequently have holes in them and feel very worn out/used. Roaches everywhere imaginable, such as the drawers, bathroom, toilet, bathtub etc. (have experienced this in at least three different rooms at this hotel - the entire premises no doubt has a massive roach infestation throughout yet the terrible owner and staff here are too lazy to do anything about it). The owner of this place is very rude, condescending, crooked and greedy. The staff here will put you down and not seem to have any shred of humanity. Sure the price may be appealing, but in comparison to everything else, such as the dirty furniture, roach infestation in practically every room, constant arguing going on outside all hours of the day and rude and crooked staff here, do not come here. It’s not worth it.

I’m not one of those people that complain to much about hotels or motels but this was by far the worst experience of my life I will never never go back here 1. Where my room was there was drug deal going on 2. There was eyes on me the whole time if my boyfriend wasn’t with me I feel that something would have happen to me and I don’t appreciate that. 3 the room was disgusting we were missing a lamp shade, the couch was pushed up against the split room door, the room was completely out of date. The bathroom was re modeled the floor wasn’t even with the wooden floor so I kept stubbing my toe. The floor was so dirty it turned my new socks black the shower curtain had mold on it with burn holes in it. The pillow cases were nasty there was other people stuff in the drawers it just wasn’t a place for us to stay at and I will never again be here . Does not deserve any ratings

Don’t waste your money going to this hotel. When we came in it was very dirty. No one has done maintenance in that place for who knows how many years. Hair in the bed and pillows, stains all over the sheets. Very disgusting place. I don’t know how they can make money with such a poor service and maintenance. 1 star is too much to put on this place. No stars

What a s__t show here... door dead bolt won't lock... bath tub won't drain.. Crack heads smoking meth on 2nd floor above us on balcony walkway.sheets and pillow cases are yellow, not white. This is just the stat of issues here. Do not waste your $80 Pay another $30 and get a corporate run hotel with clean modern rooms

Lord. Starting with the front desk…..rude. The room….outdated like 1950s outdated. Stains on the sheets broken furniture holes on the walls. We didn't even wanna take our clothes off to sleep or anything. This is below a 1 star. We only needed a bed to take a cruise in the morning but if i would have known i would have booked the holiday inn express next door. Do not book this place unless it is a MUST. Save ur $100 or add a little more at least for cleanliness.

All of the reviews are accurate. Room is dirty and has bugs. Broken drawers. I only had to stay one night (luckily) but it felt very disgusting. For the price, not worth it. I don't know how this motel is still in business... feels like they don't care about hygiene.

Very unprofessional service was given towards my friends and I. The rooms we were given had (stained) dirty sheets, stained pillows unfortunately, and disturbing fragrance in that atmosphere. The way to open the room doors are very inconvenient as well. It takes a couple of tries to unlock the doors and the area is filled with homeless walking by your front doorsteps. Unfortunately I must say this has been an uncomfortable stay. I would not recommend to stay here under any circumstances. I’m sorry for the poor manager working there. I say they take this down immediately.

This place was absolutely horrible. The mini fridge didn't even work. The shower, I can't even describe. You can have a decent place to stay and affordable. This isn't even safe in my opinion. You have gates locked, leaving one entrance and the one entrance isn't even safe. Back to my room issue. My bed sheets were stained, and had burn holes in them. The light in the bath room didn't work. I just don't understand how someone could allow guest's to live so unsanitary.

As many reviews say STAY AWAY. We arrived around 2am booked two nights and went to the room. We found multiple roaches on the floor, it did not look like it was cleaned well, but we stayed the night due to the time and how tired we were. In the morning upon asking to cancel the following night they ofcourse refused, even though we were fine with paying for the one night, and didn't even give us a receipt or anything. Let this scam of a business fail, do not let them take your money.

This place has gone COMPLETELY DOWN HILL!! I've been staying here in and off for YEARS, Im a regular there to the point where they know my name even, you would THINK that would mean I would at least get fair treatment!!?? Well not here at the Tampa Inn!! I asked for a coffee machine when I found out that other rooms have them only to be told, well we do not have any more. Not only did I not get a coffee pot but I am DISABLED!! IN A WHEELCHAIR!!! The people in the room next door have one. Do you know how hard it is to carry a hot cup of coffee from the hotel office to my room in a WHEELCHAIR?? Not to mention my room is a LAUGHABLE EXCUSE FOR A HANDICAP ROOM!! I can't even get to the bathroom in my wheelchair cause there is not enough room between the bed and the dresser!!!! And they have made NO ATTEMPT TO HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE!!! WARNING TO ALL!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!

My room was just randomly barged into and sprayed with pesticides without warning. If I find out you legally have to give me a warning to vacate or accomodate me for a new room while you RANDOMLY said you HAD to go in to spray with ZERO VENTILATION, I'm suing. Ridiculous. Staying here for 1 more day and then on a flight back home. Goodness.

We were here maybe 10min. Moldy and dusty smell. Terrible service. Blood on the sheets. Seedy neighbors and area. Sink was full the bodies of dead bugs and would not drain. No towels. Broken furniture. And refused to issue a refund. Better check reviews before booking.

This was the dirtiest place I ever seen. The customer service was just as cruddy as the rooms, they just refused to smile. The room was mad smelly and dusty as hell you could taste the particulars in the air felt like I had slept under a bridge😡 A partially dead cockroach🪲 greeted me at the door, the floor was sandy, there was crumbs on the counter, and hairs in the tub. And they had the audacity to charge a nonrefundable 120 PLUS $50 more for a non-smoking room Plus 20$ more pet fee (for a hamster) 😶 I will never, capital N E V E R, ever capital E V E R stay there again. You better off in your car. They need to change the name from Tampa Inn to the Bums Hotel (where we leave the dirty on) 🤢

If you don't mind staying at "the spot" then this place is OK. Right across the street from Busch Gardens. Plenty of sit down and fast food restaurants in area. For the price the rooms could have been a little more inviting, needed more of a deep clean. So if your just passing through and need a place to stop and rest for one night, it'll work.

Rooms were nasty, maid services were a joke. No towels and everything from.flppr to tub to beds to counters and toilet were absolutely disgusting I put sheets om the floor to walk around and still kept my socks on. Lots of drug activity and police involvement the whole time I didn't feel like Mt things were safe in the room or I was safe stepping outside. This place should be shut down I'm not sure how or why it's still aloud to rent rooms of such poor conditions to guests. I'll never be returning and I'll be calling to see who runs this place and how to get an inspection and or shut the place down.

Negative star. Yolanda the manager did nothing to help. We paid hundreds of dollars coming from Michigan and they had roaches and moldy shower curtains. Holes in the wall and nasty floors. A hole in the floor in our second room. You would think as many times as we called and complained every single day that they were going to give us somewhat of a discount or a refund when we talk to the manager this morning she was at no help and rude. I would not suggest coming here, unless you want roaches in your home.

HATED IT! Rooms are outdated and need to be cleaned. Beds are too uncomfortable and hard; I literally did not sleep. And there are holes in the walls. For 100 I could of sleep in atleast a better motel where I would had a good bed atleast!

0/5 stars for this place. The room smells, had sunflower seeds on the bed, burn holes in the sheets, and some bugs to keep you company. You're better off sleeping in your car for real. Ofcourse i didn't expect luxury, but this place was def not cleaned after the last guest. 99.9% sure COVID lives in every single one of these rooms. Don't book unless this is legit your last option on Earth

At check in I was told that we would only have to pay the early check inn fee of $30 since we were only trying to check in for a few hours. We were told by the front desk clerk that if we checked out before 11am that we would not be charged for the full day which was an additional $90. When trying to check out I arrived at the front desk at 9:45am which was only 4 hrs from my initial check in at 5:30am that same morning. The assistant manager Yolanda , who has no customer service skills , told me that the lady who checked me in was incorrect and I would be charged for a full day, she also tried to add time to my check out to make it appear that I had stayed past the initial agreed upon check out and checked me out for 11. when I noticed this on my receipt I went back in and had the lady correct the time which was 10am. Not only was the stay terrible as my AC did not work, the remote for the tv did not work, there was a roach in the room and the fridge was leaking water, but the service from the manager and assistant manager was non existent. I suggest anyone thinking of staying here look to another hotel in the area. Being charged $120 to stay 4 hours in a trash can is not something most people would appreciate. Scamming people is definitely how they make money here because it can’t be from guests staying and being satisfied. Check the other reviews as well. The staff here is trash like the hotel

This place is trash and it’s a shame because the whole strip of rooms except two are harassing and unfair . First of all mold and gunk and roaches coming out of the creases of the shower we bombed the room and even cleaned the base boards staffing is pushy , disrespectful and rude and needy for people that were charging me and my family 135.00 a night as I sat there watched the supervisor me show off he called my partner a B%#^* because he’s constantly over stepping his bounties like the place isn’t a dump both wife and husband in house keep are drunk every night fist fighting . The maid in charge say no elnglueh but the day we left she knew it they put my family out at late evening after excepting my payment . I think his whole place needs all new people unless you live there for years they will kick you out for any reason the supervision has been seen with a known call girl for over a year now his is a place for prison release and weirdos . Our lock on our door wasn’t working the whole time as a little Spanish maintance man come to my room drunk trying to put us out I got videos and pictures for days . I do not recommend

Hotel is rundown badly, checked in had to pay an extra $30 for being 7 hours early even though the front desk person knew we’d be coming around 8am, the bed had some type of hair/little spots (might have been bedbugs), bathroom had mold ,and the inside of door had writhing all over it. It was just horrible experience even though we’d been in the room for 10 minutes. NO REFUND EVEN IF WE TRIED TO GET IT ROOM FOR ONE NIGHT (was definitely not going to stay in it) TRYING TALKING TO LADY AT FRONT DEST ALL SHE SAID NO REFUNDS AND SHE’D PUT US IN A DIFFERENT ROOM. WASTE $300 ON SOMETHING WE WILL BE STAYING IN.

I will now and forevermore check the google ratings before I book. At this Slumtel there is a sign at the front desk that advises 20 minutes to cancel after checkin, as I drove to the room I could already see it was bad. I drove around the place and it was worst than bad. After entering the room I was greeted be a horrible stench, I immediately left the room and went back to the office to cancel. The front desk guy in short and dirty adidas had the audacity to ask “ would you tell us why you want to cancel” I smirked and shooked my head. This property should be deemed unsafe by the Fire Marshal.

I mean, you can't expect too much but it scrapes the bare bottom of exceptional. Great location, if you're not racist. Great service, if you're considerate. And the rooms are acceptable for the price you're paying. You want a 3.5 star hotel? Go to the Baymont. Were fun here.

Keep looking...This hotel has made #2 on our list of All Time Dives. The only reason it isn't #1 is the hotel in that spot offered rooms by the hour. Not saying this one doesn't, but we couldn't say for sure. Free entertainment - drug deals, gunshots, and sirens galore. Plus, you can learn how to yell at your kids and pets until midnight in several different languages. If you've lost your sense of smell due to COVID, this is the perfect place for you. Otherwise, be prepared to experience what its like to sleep in a dirty ashtray. To give the management some credit, the bedding, drapes and paint were recently updated, and no bugs that we saw, but until they get better clientele and housekeeping staff that cares at all, its never going to be anything but a dive.

Absolutely disgusting. Stained sheets. Crumbs on the blankets. Trash in the drawers. Baggies stuffed behind the headboard. The TV was hanging from the wall mount. There was a literal HOLE in the window. Sleeping in your car would be cleaner and safer.

Booked online for 5 days the night before we arrived. Policy is no refunds! Beware, a couch was sitting in the grass outside our door! Entered the room and our fridge was missing that was on our room description. All the lamp shades were missing and a large pull out drawer was missing. Tile flooring was coming up on the bathroom floor. You can't expect paint to stick on moldy rotting wood on the bathroom door frames! Forced to sleep here and left in the morning. Yes we had to forfeit 4 days here. Thank you Sheraton Tampa- Brandon. I do not recommend this place!

Well. It's basically just a cheap room to stay in. The sheets and pillow cases did look stained the dresser was pretty much half broken not to mention the toilet wasn't very well connected to the floor it always moved on you as you sat down. The ac worked great though lol.

Roach infested! I told them that I dont think the comforter was washed and she (Yolanda) said they only wash comforters maybe once a week or if there was a dog in the room. Thats Sooo gross. Roaches crawling everywhere and on the beds.

The manager keeps threatening and harassing me. I didn't have my DL on me but I had a copy of my State ID which they allowed to email the hotel. They charged me $20 to be a guest. He asked me to come to the front.. he wouldn't speak to me he Spoke to my male friend whose name was on the reservation. He insisted that if I didn't go he would make the room checkout because I didn't have identification on me... But they accepted my email. Every time I go to this location I'm harassed and threatened to be trespassed.. unfortunately this area is where most of my family is at. And the weekend of Taylor Swift's concert the cost of this room was over $300.. what! My room was in the back where most of the building was burned down.. the rooms had bugs and insects. I was so scared to stay in the building I was afraid it would collapse. The only staff member I could slightly deal with was the one the manager was having relations with. She was the only one who smiled.. dressed professionally and was friendly.

No phone in room no remote for tv. No locks on door. Also very visible bedbugs on sheets. Took pictures. Room not clean pee on toilet. Do not book through third party apps free cancellations are not legit. Guy at front desk said to contact third party which we did and told us to talk to manager in morning. But stressed no refunds! Bad business all the way around.

Couldn't watch the game... the wash towels had public hair stuck in them. For 100 dollars, the room should be more like 20. Hardly any channels on the TV. Couldn't even watch the bucs play.

The Tampa Inn could be a hell of a hotel. If they would use their imagination and spend $50.00 on each room, it would pay for itself in 2 months. They could be competitive with the surrounding hotels.

  • 5/5 Jerri S. 2 years ago on Google
We loved our room. . . Staff was great! For some reason pool was locked and no one could get in. No phone in room to call front desk. Our room had hole in the wall. Our bathroom door handle/lock frame was damaged. Inside dresser drawers people had written in them. We found debris/garbage from previous guests on the floor between nightstand and the bed. I get it we are all human and they are a busy hotel. We still enjoyed our stay and our room.

  • 1/5 Tyler S. 2 years ago on Google
This place smells, you can tell right when you walk in. Also, there were blood stains on the sheets. When we just now went to get replacement sheets, the front desk was incredibly rude about it as if we were trying to steal sheets or something. The fact that there was blood in the first place means they don’t wash things well; blood comes out easy.

Front desk was terrible. I made my reservation for the wrong day (yes I know that is my fault) my booking company called and tried to get it changed or a refund and they would not!! They denied to transfer my room and I offered to pay the difference said my room was not available.I have called and so has my booking company for over 20 hrs and no response!! All kinds of drugs and sketchy people hanging out. Not a safe place!! Place was very run down. However the restaurant next door was amazing!

Truckers beware, a truck stop ,trash can was cleaner than this place! The owners were nice but not honest! They never mentioned water was off on the phone or in person. After checking in ,water was not on until 8:30 pm. that night, too late to get another room.Place was durty, and a lot of foot traffic not staying there. So this place gets a -1star. Not a lot of redeeming qualities. It was clean (to the eye; not the nose) but the old furnishings and finish were not very presentable in person. The non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes. There were a steady flow noisy people going by the door. Our room was on the front corner nearest the intersection behind the Taco Bell.

Would give -1 star if I could. Had to stay here after a cancelled flight. Literally the last hotel room in Tampa. $300 bucks for this gem. (Think crack hotel.) Frankly, I'm just glad I survived the night. Hopefully this place catches fire and burns to the ground in the near future. (No one gets hurt)

This was your basic room but it did have refrigerator small with freezer that came in handy because my kids bought more ice cream than they could finish. Could be just me but the bed wasn't very comfortable and I slept terribly. The ac and heat both worked great and we used both. The coffee pot with the pod left alot to be desired both in flavor and needing more condiments. I also thought it weird they came to add towels but didn't add more coffee supplies. My sons enjoyed the shower while I was too lazy to indulge lol they had a paper available and additional coffee in the lobby but I didn't have any. They have smoking and nonsmoker rooms and a lovely pool that I also didn't get a chance to Try out. Many restaurants in walking distance and a Chinese restaurant on premises and taco bell next door. We went to red lobster also nearby. Easy check in and check out .
