Very upscale vibe with fantastic service and even better food selections! The old fashioned I ordered was perfectly crafted as well as the short ribs appetizer! The bar area is full of TVs to watch the game or there are many more intimate table settings for a really nice date night now. Plenty of parking and wait times are pretty typical on the weekends. Definitely a place you want to check out in the Carrollwood/Tampa area!

First time! Multiple friends recommended this place for a good date night. Food was so delicious and we absolutely loved cooking our steak on a lava rock. What a fun concept but it was frustrating because they were extremely short staffed. The staff that was there were definitely very new to their jobs. The bartender was very overwhelmed with no help. Customers were yelling over each other to get attention, get drinks and tab out. We felt so bad for her. 20 minutes after getting our table we had to go back up to the hostesses to ask if we had a server. Our drinks ended up coming out after our appetizer that we couldn't eat because we didn't have silverware or plates. We ordered 1 of each steak sauce offered on the menu but they never came. When dinner arrived it was just dropped off and nobody explained the concept or what we do. When we finally got our overwhelmed server instead of grabbing fresh silverware they took my silverware and demonstrated then handed my silverware back to me. Not very sanitary. I ordered another beer but my glass sat empty at the end of the table during my dinner. After multiple visits the server finally noticed and blamed it on someone else. This place would be amazing if staffed right.

Friend took me here and I loved it. I like my steak extra well done and that’s how I cooked it without hearing any complaints from anyone. Sweet potato fries and that dip were the best I ever had. Waiter Patrick was a charm. Will definitely come back!

AMAZING experience. We dined there almost 2 weeks ago, forgot to review…. We ordered the pretzel fondue for our appetizer. It was the best pretzel appetizer we’ve ever had (2 warm cheeses for dipping, delicious). We both ordered the filet of ribeye for our entrees. We had seen the commercials 100x about cooking your own steak…so we finally decided to give it a try. It was even better than the commercials. They bring the raw steak on a plate with a 755 degree black rock to cook it on along with garlic butter to spread on each piece you cut. It was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had at any steakhouse. It was pretty cool. You cook it to your liking, so it comes out perfect. You get a lot of food for your money here. The sides were awesome too. $100 for 2 steaks, appetizer & 2 beers. So worth every penny. I highly recommend!!! Oh, the service was great too!

The food was great. If you haven't tried cooking your steak on the black stone, TRY IT. I was skeptical at first, but the steak actually tasted better, and you get to dip it and cook it in the sauces. Waitress was very nice and attentive. For a little bit more upscale place, I didn't expect to hear the hostesses talking bad about the customers. I get there are stresses with the job, but that should be done where customers can't hear you, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Will definitely recommend to others.

Filet & prime rib with mac & cheese and green bean sides. A fun place to eat! Food was delicious! Prices fair but slightly on high end. Wait staff friendly & accommodating. A little smokey inside at end of our dining experience and would not recommend if you have serious lung issues.

A family lunch on a cold and dreary day. The food was very good overall with a couple of crowd pleasers. The lobster dip was awesome and the fried mozzarella moons the same. The place was clean, our server was very pleasant and we were given the choice of cooking our own steak or having the kitchen cook them. I opted to cook my ribeye, which is cut to resemble a filet, on the hot black rock at my table. While a fun option, someone is getting a face full of smoke, which I did not mind. The steak however was just ok. A good cut of beef and tender but not that flavorful. A fun place to visit but they are not knocking it out of the park. No plans to return as food not worth the price.

Amazing experience! The food was delicious. We did not wait long for seating or the food. Inside was smokey but worth it. My husband loved cooking his sirloin steak at the table. I enjoyed the stir fry shrimp. My vegetables were nice and crispy. I will eat here again.

It was our first time there, suggested by a friend. Best thing ever! Amazing experience and service. The server Edwin was amazing and helpful with our first time using the stone. The busboy was amazing as well didn't catch his name but he was the afro Latino with curly-ish hair that spoke Spanish he was hilarious. Overall the experience was above and beyond for our first time. Next time I will definitely try some desserts.

My family went on a Thursday evening and was seated immediately. I ordered the $30 Ribeye, Mac and cheese with asparagus. Steak was excellent, the Mac and Cheese was delicious but the asparagus was quite pitiful. I received four small, thin asparagus stalks. My wife had the salmon and it was also delicious. Our waitress did not tell me it was Happy Hour and she couldnt explain to me the specials so I asked the bartender. My son ordered the steak and ribs, the portion size was excellent. We will be back to try the desserts and Happy Hour.

Well the food was amazing. Though if you’re going to drop $$$ here I would be seriously cautious! I’m not sure whether managerial or hosts are responsible but considering I dropped a rather large amount on my date night to celebrate my engagement. It was sad to be sat in the wine cellar area and to have another rather loud and obnoxious couple sat directly across from our booth to hear each and every single word they spoke… upon craning my neck to see… whoever decided to seat this table skipped tables but was not contentious of other individuals dining in. Our sever was phenomenal but the atmosphere was sub par 😞 Edit*** we were thankfully moved. Hope this serves as a learning experience ❤️photos to show the place was not packed for this to even occur…. Black Rock please do better. Your servers deserve better 💯 there’s boomers out here that spite a server when it isn’t even their fault 💯 Sincerely a millennial 🙃 Also please note not once did management come to speak to us on the matter. I walked directly to the host stand to correct this.

This place is so awesome! Good value for what you get too. Service was great, food was great. Didn't realize you actually cook your own steak on the hot plate they give you. The sauces are so good. Highly recommend the Mac n cheese, and the baked potatoes, and the chili. There was a bit of a wait, but not long. Really have nothing but good things to say about this place and will definitely be back!

The salads were great, fresh, the pasta dish was also very good, someone else in our party ordered the hamburger and he enjoyed that. I ordered the Maui Maui and that was way too spicy for me. I like spicy food but that wasn’t enjoyable for me. The fries were amazing.

Black Rock was a new experience for us. We never cooked on a 750° rock before, and the food came out delicious! (Hint from the server- put your meat on the side and cook a bite or two at a time). Server was great, the food (both what we cooked and what came from the kitchen) was perfect, and it was pretty reasonable for 5 people. The only downside is living too far away. I'd be there more often.

Awesome place for a celebration! We went on a Friday night and it was busy up until 9-10pm. So I would definitely make reservations. The food was good! I got the steak served on a black rock and cooked it to my liking. The appetizer was amazing! Got the pretzel app. That also came with the sauces on the black rock in a bowl. Overall had a great time!

Food itself was fantastic! Flavor wise, the butter, the sides and sauces, all really good. The salad had lettuce that was not fresh though (3 out of 4 of us), and there were a few other flaws, like cheap silverware that couldn't handle the food and ventilation for the greasy smoke/fog.

The Summer Rocking Hours specials were wonderful! A variety of menu choices including a beautiful 8 oz Ahi tuna cooked on the rock at the table. Hubby loved his bacon cheeseburger. Hot, fluffy baked potatoes were a nice addition, not to mention a $4 Dirty Martini. If you dont mind eating before 6pm, this menu rocks! I'm ready to return!

I wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars but couldn't. I was there to celebrate my birthday, and the service was okay. I got soup and it was cold. I ordered my main dish and asked for no mushrooms, what'd I get, mushrooms, so I sent it back. Then I got a side salad, which was decent, so I ate it. I also ordered a pretzel and got cold cheese. The breading of the pretzel was good, but the cheese was cold. This was a bad experience for me. I was in and out the restaurant within an hour and have plans on returning to that location.

Everything was really good! Lobster was good, but on the small side for the price. The pasta was good too, but needed a little salt. Other than that, everything was amazing

Girls night out. I love the concept of grilling your steak/shrimp to your liking. If you have smoke sensitivities I caution you on dining here. With all the table side cooking, it can get a bit smoky. They do their best to keep the air moving. There can be a bit of splatter on clothing from the yummy butter sauce. Delicious steaks. The brownie/ice cream cone dessert was enough for 5 to share.

I had the Thursday special which was 6oz sirloin with shrimp scampi, side salad and mash potatoes for $20. Steak is served on a 755° hot rock which allows one to sear each bite of steak to your liking and consume right away while still hot. The herb butter is great on the steak. A unique experience well worth trying! Good quality and price. I was satisfied and will be back.

My wife and I sat at the bar and had a great date night. Drinks were great, food was absolutely phenomenal, and the service was perfect! The only thing I wish is that I had more room in my stomach to eat more of this delicious food haha! 😅 We will definitely be coming back soon.

The restaurant was smokey and dim upon arrival. The host and server were attentive and well mannered. Ordered the chicken carbonara with mashed potatoes and asparagus, it was all salty. I suggested cooking your own meat on the hot stone or ordering your food without salt on everything. The lemonade drink were very light on alcohol for the price but the presentation was pretty.

We were celebrating our friend’s 90th birthday. We had about 20 people and a few of them had never been there before. Black Rock Grill did not disappoint. The food was excellent as always ( I’m a regular) and our server, Luke, went far beyond what we could have expected to ensure the celebration was a success.

Went for our anniversary last night and it was PHENOMENAL! SO MUCH FOOD for the price. It's good quality at a good price. Our server was Tineecia and she was amazing! She was engaging and helpful and on top of our table anytime we needed anything. One hell of a server, give that girl a raise! She deserves it! We will definitely be back 💜

Second time visiting this place, don’t disappoint. If you want to impress someone bring them here they gone love it. You cook your own stake at your table, sou nice. I order this burger with mozzarella against bread and was my favorite

This was a really cool experience! They bring a steak to the table on a scorching hot black slab. You cook the steak to your preference with seasoning and buttery garlic sauce. The brussel sprouts were amazing as well and my baked potato was cooked perfectly. The server was super friendly and the atmosphere was laid back and family friendly.
