I am a business owner, a real estate investor, a lover of Tampa, and a BLACK MAN. On September 2, 2022, between the time of 7 pm-9 pm I was enjoying my time at the Barns and Noble book store looking at different books. Long story short, the store manager and a young lady trailed me through the store like a criminal, then they stood from a distance and steared me down. It was very uncomfortable, and I was nervous. I have never been made to feel this way before( A thief). I always respectfully spend money at this store(11802 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, Fl 33618) 100% of the time. As Black People, we spend our hard-earned money at this location. We can shop at your store, or go to amazon! Wow, I am hurt. Recommendations, the store should use their video cameras to help fight shoplifting.

Wonderful spot for browsing and studying. There are large tables in the back for people to read or study at. Lovely touch that so few Barnes and Nobles have. Staff is friendly, and the gal who checked us out was very kind and sweet. Wonderful place. Definitely will be back!

Unlike a library this place sells you books and movies that you don't have to return. You can also get a coffee. I come back here every few months to pick up a couple magazines I like and walk around and take in all the beautiful books. A great place to read or study, grab a coffee and or snack. Always clean, organized and the people are helpful.

It’s a vast range of abundance of books about anything & everything ! The music is helpful and helps to chill, there’s a separate area for study and work desks.. also another round table with comfy couches and chairs to relax and enjoy a book all day! I was new here , was a bit lonely and I was looking forward to my days in Barnes & Nobles.. there’s a separate kids area with play area and beautiful colorful books too! The Starbucks cafe is a bonus 😍💛

I love Barnes and Noble. This location is just as good as any other. They have a great selection of books, toys, and music. The prices aren't bad and the customer service is very helpful. Book stores are slowly disappearing and it's a shame. Enjoy them while they last! This location has a cafe and a very large children's section.

The last of a dying breed of unique retailers. Remember Borders Books and Music? I spent hours in there as a teenager and I hope and pray Barnes and Noble doesn't turn into another fossil. Barnes and Noble is a wonderful retailer, all my gift giving comes from Barnes and Noble with unique items, especially with science and educational toys, boxed gift sets, table top games, models, science experiments, everything and anything to nurture creativity in it's many forms, merchandise from all of pop culture and of course books. Books galore. Whenever I step into a Barnes and Noble, I can feel my creative juices flowing!

It's lost some of its charm and appeal since they did a remodel and a certain person who works in the food court takes their job WAY too seriously but it's really the last good book store left in Tampa imo.

My son and I had a good time. He was able to play with toys and read the children’s books. While I read some of the magazines in the study area. Cool place.

we enjoyed going there once in a while. it's always clean, has great selection of books and if they would be more space to sit down and rest or study, it would be better. but we still love going there.

This store is a staple in Carrollwood. I’ve been going here since I was in 6th grade and I’m in my 30’s now. It’s so much fun taking my 6 year old into the store to pick out a book. The store is clean and the staff have always been nice. I have spent the afternoon studying for finals in the cafe as well. Just an all around wonderful place to kill some time or pick out a new book.

There’s a man who works at the Starbucks and I’m pretty sure he has worked there for years. When I was 14 my Christmas gift was always to go here and get coffee and buy a bunch of books. He told me what a grinch frappe was and it sounds so gross but it became my favorite thing. It was a green tea match frappe with mint and chocolate chips and sometimes I still order it. Whenever I come here it feels like how it did when I was a teen. Now I’m 24 and I’m getting back into books and it makes me so happy like this feels like a safe space. Always nice service though I wish the romance section was more expansive and modern.

I've been shopping in this place for almost 30 years. It's one of my favorite places in Tampa. I'm pretty sure if you're into books you already know about how great Barnes and Noble is. They also have a Starbucks inside so you can get your coffee buzz while you read.

I really appreciated the selection of different genres. They had a fantasy and YA fantasy selection. I’m not into Manga but there was a huge selection. There were also several books on sale. A great place to get inspired on your next read!

This B&N seems to be on a mission to limit their seating to an ever greater extent, and for the life of me I can’t figure out why. I used to come here often and purchase multiple beverages over the course of a few hours while getting work done, then often talk myself into buying a book as a reward for my productivity… I really can’t do this anymore, as the management has slowly removed tables to the point where it’s extremely difficult to find somewhere to sit (and near-impossible to sit somewhere near an outlet to plug my laptop into). The staff is friendly and helpful, and the book selection is great, but I come here maybe a tenth as often as I once did, and it’s because the seating in the cafe has been (pointlessly?) limited.

This was my 3rd barnes location today, and I've noticed a bad trend. All three locations claimed to have the book I was looking for on their website and none of them actually had it. That was disappointing but not the whole problem. This is the 2nd time an employee blew me off and said "well that's what happens when you folks steal, we can't control that.".....now she's partially true if someone steals a book then of course they no longer have it - but I don't understand why multiple locations are accusing "folks like me" of stealing. Seems like they're just out of books and claiming they have them, and that's their go to excuse when customers ask for it, to accuse them of already stealing it. Super disappointing and the entire reason I'm no longer shopping at any Barnes and Nobles locations ever again, Amazon works just fine.

Cozy bookstore. The smell when I walked in made me want to just sit down and read something. Then I realized there was a Starbucks. They didn’t disappoint either.

It is a great place for those that love reading, I wish there were more space with tables and chairs, it is usually too crowded and the coffee experience can be improve.

I don't normally write reviews, but I had a very nice interaction on Friday 9/22 with Alyssa N. I have been wanting to read A Court of Thorns and Roses for a few weeks but it has been sold out at the stores I normally go to. When she saw that I was buying this book, she expressed how excited she was for me and told me I would be going on a journey. Another cashier agreed and it made me feel like I needed to start reading it as soon as I got to the car. It was just a nice interaction and I read the whole book that same night. She also signed me up for the rewards card, which was great because I am already halfway to getting my first $5 back. I have spent so much money at barnes and noble and never knew of the rewards program. I will be back soon for the next book!

I hope that Barnes & Nobles doesn't close this location. They have great reading in every category. I have always written in a Journal since my teens! I finished my current journal & needed a new one to continue to journal my feelings & life. I love their selection of journals. Many of the covers are really works of art, so beautiful. The store is so clean, always a great atmosphere & you can get your favorite Starbucks drink as well! They have great customer service too.

The store was clean and easy to find what I was looking for. A little bummed that they no longer offer seating like they use to. I really enjoyed coming in to study to school and browse books at the same time

Clean, well maintained, great selection of books and helpful staff. The Starbucks is run well, gets a little busy at times but it's a great place. if you need to catch some peace and quiet to read or get some work done. We bring the kids here to hang out in the kids section to read and they have a really good selection of kids toys and books for purchase as well.

I ordered a book months ago that was released on July 25th. Now it is being shipped internationally despite the fact that the order originated in CA and I live in FL. Speaking to an online associate was useless as they stated, "I don't know why, you ordered it." They stated there is nothing they can do until the book isn't received by Aug 14th. The tracking number states its going to Israel for some reason. When I asked to be transferred to a supervisor I was told there were none currently working and I would have to call the following day. I asked if I could be compensated in some way as I am meeting the author July 3rs and this book was supposed to be signed by him at that point and I was hoping to have finished it. I was told, "sorry, we don't have any coupons right now." I will never preorder another book from Barnes & Noble and will do my best to no longer shop there after this unless someone is able to own this error and fix it.

Love this location. Quiet and clean and cozy, just like the Barnes & Noble’s I remember fondly from childhood. Management is running this location excellently, unfortunately cannot say the same about other locations nearby (such as Wiregrass).

Have been coming here for years and it has always been the best B&N in Tampa. Good to study, shop, get a snack, or simply discover new books.

It is always nice to visit this store. Beware on the weekends. There are a lot of college students that comes to the Cafe to study. So it will be a little difficult to find a table and enjoy a nice cup of coffee.

Nice place to browse, hang at the coffee shop, busy on Sunday as well. Great spot just a few blocks from home when you just want to get out of the house. Not to mention a good selection of books & supplies.

Didn't have many cat related books. Nothing to ID cat breeds which is needed for correct adoptions. A local coffee shop would have been a better touch with our hugh Hispanic population. We have several Tampa Bay area coffee roasters and manufacturers. Three stars because they did have a couple of horse books.
