I came in here after flying into Tampa a few years ago. I had a really good experience with this place. Not one complaint at all. The wings were good but the Cuban sandwich was absolutely phenomenal. That was my first time ever having a Cuban sandwich and since then, I've tried others at different restaurants from time to time and nothing has topped this one. The place had a fun atmosphere too. Overall, this place gets 5 stars!!

Stumbled across this place because the pirate theme looked really cool… had their brew, it was good and the Cuban sandwich was perfect.. my husband had the Havana roasted pork and we have both visited Cuba and I AM CUBAN!! I was very impressed and I highly recommend

Sunday brunch has come a long way. Our dishes were made fresh and had plenty of flavor. Combine that with outdoor seating and good entertainment, and it was a great Sunday brunch experience. The food has improved and hopefully will remain consistent.

I went here on a Friday night and sat in the outside seating area. It was definitely a nice and lively atmosphere; it was really loud in there and they had karaoke going on. We ordered our food at the bar and had to check there for when it was ready. The drinks we ordered were good. My friends got the Cuban bread and butter which was good but a bit dry. My sister got the wings which she really liked. I got the tater tots which was nice because there was a lot of them the only thing Is I felt like a lot of them didn’t have any toppings and some even seemed a bit under heated. Other than that, however, this is definitely an upbeat place to go hang out and it wasn’t too expensive, also their Cuban sandwich looked really good. They also have pb&j wings which sounds super interesting but I was too scared to try it

Really good! I love the place!! Great location, super nice decorated. The service amazing and the food spectacular and the Sangria from the house own recipe: AMAZING!!!!! 5 stars and I recommended 100% to everyone.

It took them forever to take our order and deliver. We felt a little discriminated as others around us were getting their orders pretty quickly. And it's not that our orders were something complex, a few beers, lemonade and French fries. Plus it wasn't very crowded at that time. The ambience is pretty good and they've a good selection of beer and other drinks.

Nice vibes (live music available, outside bar, hens and roosters roaming around) and good staff. The decrease in stars were receiving our appetizer (just fries) 30min after we ordered it, receiving salads with almost cold chicken and stale croutons. I didn’t complain because it was so hot - just wanted to leave.

The restaurant is very beautifully decorated, a different atmosphere from other Cuban restaurants. The pork was good but as you can see in the photo the beans arrived at the table dry, I don't know if it was because of the slow service that left the dish waiting for a long time or if it was the kitchen's fault 🤷🏻‍♂️, actually being Cuban I have eaten better at home

Hands down one of the best places to get a Cuban sandwich! Plus the price you can't beat compared to other places. My boyfriend loved his Bloody Mary, and my Sangria was refreshing for a Sunday luncheon.

Nice outdoor seating area with a bar there is lots of space inside and outside. We tried the $35 bucket of margarita and Long Island. Definitely enough for 6 people to get buzzed. We got the Garlic Parmesan Wings and the Kickin Korean BBQ Wings. Great wings best I’ve had in awhile definitely recommend trying the wings we also got a basket of fries that came out hot and fresh. The server was friendly we did come out a Monday and there was no wait the food was fast and fresh. Great place to have drinks and wing’s definitely will be back!

This place saved our date night. After walking into a bar that didn't serve alcohol🤔, the wife and I found this place; it is awesome! 3 bars. Great food. Great service. Great music. The live music by a young man named juanes really did it for us; we stayed and drank until he finished singing. The bartender was awesome and made drinks that weren't on the menu for us! Totally recommend this place. Everyone was friendly and just rocking out. We will definitely be back; the place is awesome!

Not the true essence of Gasper anymore. They cut down their menu significantly and of the only items they offer now, I would only consider the Cuban Sandwich and Shrimp Crab Quesadilla to be worthy. I miss the BBQ Shrimp Dinners, Salmon, and other seafood items that had real Cuban vibes. I hope they get back.

An amazing place full of memorabilia. The bar has a fish tank with live fish and the largest tip 🔔! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful in choosing the right menu. The food was very good but not exceptional.

I always enjoy every moment I get to experience here when I visit Tampa! The wings are a must-have here. And the nighttime activities are even more fun here! The music and atmosphere are awesome! I like to visit at least (4) times a year when visiting from Michigan.

Fun atmosphere, lots of cool decorations, great service! I got their Buccaneer Burger, which was just okay, but still not bad. Worth checking out in Ybor!

I came here to watch the NBA Finals the other night since this spot was a bit more toned down compared to all the other bars and restaurants. I ordered the 10 piece smokehouse flavored jumbo wings and they were really good. The Long Island drink was kind of light (I prefer them strong). My friend said his beans and chicken lacked some flavor. I would’ve liked to hear the sound of the TV during the game but I didn’t mind what the DJ was playing. I would definitely come back when I’m down in Ybor again.

We got the crab cake and a couple cocktails and it was phenomenal. There are random roosters running around outside and it was quote busy, so an interesting atmosphere for sure but most definitely entertaining! ☺️

I’ve worked a lot of Bacardi events here and mostly only been here for work but definitely one of the best of the Bay highly recommended to anyone new in town

Pirate themed bar and restaurant. Staff here friendly and food was delicious! Great lunch deals, especially coffee and beignets *chef kiss* Customer service top notch. My friend is vegan and half jokingly was asking the server to take out all of the beans in the soup for her if she could (my friend loves beans). With a smile on her face and no hesitation, she actually did that for my friend and we could enjoy a meal together. We just so happened to stop by and found a gem of a place, will be back!

Normally a great joint but They allowed construction to go on there on the premise on Sunday at noon and it was unbearably loud... we had to close out after 2 drinks. BUT it's normally a great place to eat & drink. However, this past Sunday, they were not busy (at noon) and our server was VERY slow (for 2 simple beers). It was an off day for them...they are normally solid operators.

60+ years of serving the community can't be wrong! I had excellent naked wings and some cold Jai Alai IPA and both were excellent. Friendly staff and while I enjoyed the patio, the main bar is a classic. I'll be back for sure!

To be honest, I stopped here because of the pirate theme. I stayed for the drink specials and the great food and atmosphere. The service was good as was the food. Plus, there was a parrot

Went here through a recommendation from a state park ranger. Best Cuban sandwich I've had to date. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it. Big sandwich! Bread was fantastic. Highly recommend.

I had so much fun at the Grotto for lunch on a weekday! The inside is the coolest decor, I would have loved to explore it more. The weather was perfect so I sat outside, a beautiful patio with plenty of umbrellas, and honestly I was so entertained by the chickens walking around! My server so very kind and pleasant. Their sangria is phenomenal, and I had the shrimp & crab quesadilla. I don't know what sauce was on the side but it was the perfect combo! I would go back for that anyway. I saw a few reviews about the service, which is annoying, but I had a great experience and I think you should come to this bar for the ambiance and atmosphere. It's such a cool bar, and at the end of the day, bars are about fun, not necessarily above & beyond service. Just a thought! I very much hope to return.

We were just finished doing a group thing for my husbands workplace. We'd walked to this bar to cool down with drinks and a quick bite. We were a group of eight (all couples). The waitress asked if we were splitting the bill. We said yes, we were all couples. When she finally came to take our order (they had very little patrons) she asked again about splitting the check (we told her again, no big deal). She said she said she needed to get her pad and pen to take our orders. She returned about ten minutes later and asked as she was taking orders which of us were couples to separate the bill. We told her as she took our order. We noticed she was drawing a line between each couples order. She mentioned it was her birthday. We all said "happy birthday!". Another 20 minutes went by and we finally got our drinks, which we quickly drank and ordered another round (we were pretty parched at this point and didn't know how long it'd take to bring the next round of drinks). About 30 minutes later the food arrived. I'd ordered beans and rice (because I'm a vegetarian). The waitress put a basket of fries in front of me and said verbatim "We're all out of beans and rice, so I ordered you fries.". I said "oh, okay thanks.". She asked again who was on who's tab. We all started looking at one another like hmmmm, but we told her again. Once we finished she brought the bill and asked again about who was together. At this point we were wondering if she was celebrating while working?🥴😵‍💫🍹🍸🚬 LOL I'm unsure if she forgot what the lines meant between each order or what happened. She proceeded to go through each thing we ordered and asked us who had what to eat and drink. Once again everyone looked very puzzled. Even after that she missed 3 items ringing us up and we each ended up paying again. P.S....Gratuity was already added to the bill. I understand it was her birthday and everyone has bad days but, don't think we'll be returning. 😒

Excellent food and service and atmosphere. We had the Cuban Sandwich and Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. Both tasted great and even had enough to take home.

Awesome bartender, awesome bouncer who my partner and I had awesome conversation with! check out William Schiller's display case!!! His son owns the place, and if you are interested in the Manhattan project at all this place is worth it just to check that out!! Also the house beer, Peg Leg, is one of the most interesting beers I've ever had!

From Tampa but now live in NJ. Was just in for lunch. Awesome food. Fish spread was super good. Cuban sandwich came with side of black beans and rice. Gotta order it people.

Love here. Crispy Cuban sandwich, surprisingly delicious singaporean styled wings which are only 10 times better than buffalos. And our waitress Christy is super friendly and accommodating. Great beers and home whisky, delicious food, very reasonable price, cozy sitting outside settings made it a best place to go at Ybor city, Florida.

Ordered a crab and shrimp quesadilla and a Cuban sandwich. Yum!!!!! The quesadilla came with salsa and some kind of dipping sauce that was fabulous. It was chock full of crab, shrimp, cheese, spinach, bell peppers and some other veg worth eating. The pressed Cuban was devoid of veg. (Some places make them that way by default, so be sure to ask if like your tomato and lettuce tucked in there.) Have some napkins handy, because it will drip. Lots of cheese and condiments, which is a plus in our book. It was jam packed with meat, so be ready for a meal size sandwich. Enjoy your grub in this festive, quaint, piratey atmosphere.

Bar with off the hook food. My only suggestion would please take the effort to make housemade salad dressings! Love the love chickens roaming around.
