Wow, where do I start? This is a fantastic experience all around. We loved warm banana chips (starters), cuban bread (tastes similar to garlic bread but without garlic) and Italian salad with cranberry and walnuts, absolutely mint. Do ask for a lemon slice and squeeze it onto the dip provided with banana chips as that elevates the taste certainly. Chloe who served us has been fantastic. A good way to end our US trip.

The food was very good! Everything was flavorful. The server was friendly. I wish they had outside seatings so that we can enjoy the food in a nice weather.

Great food, the Cuban sandwich was tasty, the Spanish Bean soup delicious and the service was good. We indulged in the stuffed crab which was good but not fresh in the sense of homemade. Overall great food and always good company.

I am so disappointed. First time ordered and I was excited for my salad. I have to say this was not worth the money. The chicken taste like it was cooked in crab juice and the salad was dull and soggy. I thought there would be more too it. Tasteless croutons and the dressing was odd. Will not be back.

I was very disappointed by Carmine's. First they didn't have enough servers for a Saturday lunch shift. So that meant that even though there were open seats we had to stand around for about 15 minutes before being seated. That was understandable from the position of not overwhelming the servers and kitchen. The menu was less than informative because pretty much everything we ordered was different from what we were anticipating. We got some appetizers : fried green tomatoes and the seared Ahi tuna. The tomatoes came breaded and the ahí was covered in sauce which overpowered the flavor of the tuna. And the bed of greens that came with the tuna was little more than a few pieces of baby lettuce. The baked chicken came with black beans and rice, but no vegetables. The chicken was good but nothing special. The drinks were also nothing special. The waitress didn't bother to write our order and had to send someone to ask us what appetizers we had ordered. The ambulance was OK nice with the exception that the sports team flags didn't really mesh with the rest of the decor. All in all it seemed more like a diner than a restaurant/bar. Won't be going back.

The staff was extremely friendly and very service minded. Our bartender, waitress and even Conselua who cleared tables were all AWESOME! The deviled crab is so delicious! We tried two different types of drinks.. the My Sherona and the Cigar City Old Fashion. You won’t regret trying them. The Cuban and Spanish bean soup were also yummy. Love the history and the old building were you can sit and watch people walking along the Ybor streets. Don’t forget to have the flan for dessert.. it is made in house and the best I’ve had!

Ordered the spiced steak and it was the worst I have ever tasted. It says steak on the menu but we were served a patty. It tasted dry and bland. Who serves a patty with rice and beans? Just makes no sense to me. Gave them the one star for the Spanish rice.

This beautiful restaurant in the Ybor district of Tampa Bay is a must. I bought two of their famous "Deviled Crab Cakes" to go. They were fantastic. A unique shape and flavor. It's a must for any seafood lover! Highly recommended!

Family restaurant central in Tampa, on a nice historical avenue. Carmine has a wide selection of pasta, sandwiches, soups and meat or fish dishes. We ate here with a group of 8, service was friendly, efficient and fast. We had eggplant parmesan pasta, clams pasta, steak and tried the fried crab specialty. All dishes were tasty and not too salty. They have a very nice beer selection which is worth exploring!

This is the first time we have been to Carmine's in years. The food was good but didn't seem to be quite as good as it was years ago. That could just be that the Cuban sandwich I had, although good, did not compare to the Cuban sandwiches I've had at Cafe Mazaryktown. Same with the black beans and rice. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was good.

It was a great dining experience. One I've been looking forward to for a while since I am now living out of state. If you are visiting Tampa you must visit Caine's in Ybor City. Devil Crab, authentic Tampa Cuban sandwich and Spanish bean soup. Excellent!

Service was very good and it was quick to get our dishes. The rice and black beans were very good. The key lime pie was a tiny piece, not worthy the price. The Cuban sandwich had no pulled pork, they substituted a thin slice of pork lunch meat, 2x3 piece. I could not even find it at first , thought it was a thin piece of chicken lunch meat. Was basically a thin ham and cheese lunch meat sandwich. The entire reason for stopping in Ybor city and here. I could have liked the place if they could have made the Cuban. I need to find a good Cuban sandwich. Only reason for the 3 stars and not 2 was the great waitress. She had nothing to do with the food.

My husband and I stopped in while visiting the area for a quick lunch and were pleased. We split the crab appetizer and cuban sandwich and the sandwich was amazing! It is large enough for the two of us to split and was plenty and very flavorful! Our server was good and the prices are fair for what you get. We will be back if in the area.

One of our favorite spots in Ybor to grab a Cuban or have a nice meal. Staff is friendly and food is always delicious. They were all out of their grouper when we came but the Tampa Cuban and their Crab cake were phenomenal. You really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Come check it out!

Location is great but not sure about the food and drink. The server should maintain her hygiene. Residue in the glass of my beer. Wouldn't recommend for food.

We had been to the Fair and wanted some real food! Our choice was to visit Ybor and grab a Cuban to go. Carmines fit the bill! Friendly servers, great atmosphere is great. We enjoyed nice ice cold beers and brushetta before taking Spanish soup, Cuban and Flan home to enjoy. Everything was delicious, the soup was so good I can't wait for more. I recommend Carmine's to anyone yearning for some authentic Cuban fare.

Food took several times back and forth to get right despite lack of customers. Hidden fees like they charge 8 dollars for bread and don’t tell you, 3 dollars for butter on your steak so your steak is 27 even though the menu says 24. They pad the tip recommended amount calculating tax included. Manager is out to lunch. Server was nice and did the best he could do with the challenges.

7th Avenue is the heart of the Ybor City historical district, from the Columbia restaurant on the corner of N. 21st Street in the east to N. 13th Street in the west. There are Restaurants, Café’s, Bars, Cigar Shops, Tattoo Parlors, Hookah Lounges, Night Clubs, a Wine Bar and a Cinema. I’m guessing that this Historic District designation is a problem for property owners who want to upgrade or modernize their premises, so I’m willing to give Carmine’s the benefit of the doubt. The restaurant is undoubtedly run down, so it loses a star, but the food is still good. We started with Loaded Cheese Fries and Plantain Chips cut longitudinally along the plantain making them light, crispy and delicious, then I had an excellent Meatball Sandwich, and my wife had a lovely Tampa Cuban Sandwich and a Spanish House Salad. We washed it all down with a reasonably priced pint of Peroni. Sebastian was a happy, efficient server. The cost before tip was $34.37 each.

This is a great restaurant in Ybor City, with one of the best Cuban sandwiches in all of Tampa! I love the location and the atmosphere and think they have a pretty solid menu. My two complaints are: 1. That they serve non-alcoholic drinks in short glasses, so you end up needing a refill pretty quickly and your server may or may not be that quick about it. 2. They won't allow substitutions on side items for their sandwiches. I ordered a sandwich that comes with the side of soup or rice and beans, and they wouldn't let me substitute any other side from the sides menu. The server was very apologetic about it, but said that he gets yelled at if he does. So for that reason I can't give this restaurant five stars.

For 2 decades I was an occasional patron when visiting our company warehouse in Ybor. Co-workers and I made this place one of our top 5 places to put on the feed bag. With a nice variety of italian and latino food to choose from, Carmines is an Ybor institution since before I was born, 1948. The food was good, the prices were right and the place was percect for groups. They had my favorite beer on tap. I got the Devil Crab and Carmine's Special, half a cuban with black beans and rice. It pretty much remains the same. The food is good, a nearly perfect cuban and the best item on the menu if the recipe has not changed, the Crab Enchilado. Available Friday thru Sunday. While not the best food, it brings back many fond memories. Also a good place to take the kids for a meal.

Carmines is a great spot for group dinners, with a nice list of options for everyone to like: from italian food, to Cuban sandwiches. I got The blackened Grouper sandwich and had trouble putting it down it was that good. For appetizers i recommend the mozzarella sticks and the plantain chips. Prices here were surprisingly high, but my main complaint was the painfully slow service. Drinks took forever to get to us while the restaurant wasn’t in peak busyness.

What an awesome place ! We were able to buy a few items from the Italian grocery store after our dinner and it was closed. But the manager at Carmines made it happen we were able to purchase our vodka sauce (which it’s delicious) and wine ! Our food was Delicious my spouse ordered the chicken Marsala and he enjoyed his dish. I had the penne al la vodka and that was awesome too ! The our waiter recommended our dishes and he stayed on top of our table. For the appetizer we had the breaded eggplant, mozzarella and tomato and we both enjoyed it! We will most definitely be back great experience I give them a 10 x2 ! Keep up with the wonderful service going above and beyond your customers appreciate it. Beautiful romantic restaurant.

Had lunch at Carmine’s. Glad we stopped in. Atmosphere is just right and the bartender was very nice and efficient. Bloody Mary was very good and so was the Spanish House salad and 1/2 baked chicken entree.

Carmine’s is a restaurant in Ybor City known for its comfort food. The decor inside is basic, and has a few brick walls. The service was a bit slow; but gave us recommendations and was friendly with us. The food here is very good. The deviled crab had a good flavor combined with the hot sauce; and the fries are very fresh; as we doubt anything was frozen here. The chicken tenders were great, and the sandwiches are good. Overall, I recommend eating at this place.

Three of us went to eat at Carmine’s for lunch. When entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted and seated. The inside had a nice rustic feel and the lighting was perfect. Our waiter brought us our water and then we ordered our drinks. The drinks came out quick and when I was out, it was refilled quickly. We ordered the sausage appetizer and it was delicious. For my meal I ordered the Italian house salad and the Ybor Burger. The salad and burger were very good. The other two people in my party ordered the Florida Fresh Grouper and said it was delicious as well. I would give this a 4.5 stars. I didn’t give it a full 5 because my water never got refilled and my salad came out with my meal. Other than that, everything was perfect.

I loved loved loved the Jumbo Devil Crab! It definitely took the show. We started with drinks, whiskey is my go to. We had the Old Fashioned which was very strong but it is a high proof of whiskey. Of course I had the Jumbo Devil Crab for my appetizer and enjoyed every bit of it. I tried the Crab Enchilado aka Crab Pasta and the meat sauce was very thick. It was good but the texture of the meat sauce was too heavy. Overall I enjoy the experience I would return but would not order the Crab Enchilado.

A little pricey for lunch but after seeing the portion it was well worth it. Best grouper sandwich so far I have eaten in Ybor.

The decor is perfect for the historic part of Tampa. Food was good, service a little off. We were planned party of 20, and the restaurant was.packed. The servers were doing all they could to keep up and kept a positive attitude.

A spur of the moment stop in for dinner. Got right in with no wait. Server Josh was running around helping everyone and was very good. Ordered the grilled sausage appetizer, it had a lemon and olive oil tipping which was good, the sausage was average. For dinner, I ordered the baked ziti. It was baked really well, cheese was good. The sauce was again average had a decent sweet taste to it.
