Most of the staff was friendly and the sheets seemed to be clean. That's the best I can say. Paid a little over $100 for a dirty, rundown room. I don't care that it was outdated, this is more an issue of moldy walls, thick cobwebs everywhere, cracks and holes, loose plumbing, etc. Mirrors looked like they were wiped with a dirty rag, floor wasn't vacuumed, bedspreads were stained, the only drawer in the room was missing, no safe, thick dust everywhere, bathroom still splattered with the last person's soap and toothpaste, and some of the complimentary toiletries were half used and put back on display. The TV didn't work. We got two bath towels, one hand towel, and one wash rag for both of us. Room smelled strongly of roach spray, but the good news is that all the roaches we found were dead at least. Wish we'd known this before bringing lunch in to eat before heading out, because eating there was awful. I think multiple rooms share hot water because the neighbor took a shower (FYI water running from next room was really loud, if that kind of thing bothers you) and we only had lukewarm water for a while. A lot of people are living there, and I hope they're getting a deeply discounted rate for staying in a place that dirty and sketchy. We'll never be back though.

Very ghetto staff, very unprofessional front desk lady asked me if my credit card was in my name, I told her all my cards are. She then proceeded to harass me and say" we'll see if they'll even work " if she hates her life she needs to kill herself already don't ruin everyone elses experience. She hates her life and it's obvious, She also denied me my room and still charged my card but she so stupid I seen it coming with her nastiness and my card is locked so not go here very unprofessional very ghetto staff lazy dirty filthy front desk with no desire to even live they should just leave.

This place should be ashamed to even charge for the room we stayed in. The bathroom filthy broken shower curtain, toilet barley flushes, half a roll of toilet paper. Come to the hallway, doors are drawn all over. Come into the resting area. A huge glass sliding door leads to some alley or parking lot. The remote left for us to use for the ac and TV both broken. And the filth continues. They claim to have a sauna that area was covered with brown bags and the pool is usually a welcoming spot for travelers not here filth followed there. Must be ran by a Patel and no offense all Patel ran and operated hotels are death traps.

This one on Bush Blvd in Tampa,FL No stars for this place is a big dump and false advertising they had no breakfast. the sheets dirty and holes shower curtains nasty w holes. Practically had to do my own house keeping to be able to sleep. It should be shut down walls dirty cracks on Cieling look like it was going to all fall down. Plugs were coming out of the walls lots of homeless people. Not worth the price at all the towels were dirty I don't think they changed anything just put the blankets back on making it look like it was done. Inspection needs to be done and shut it down. Someone really need to look into it and shut it down. πŸ˜‘πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž

WARNING - DO NOT STAY HERE. DISGUSTING AND A TOTAL SCAM. The front desk clerk was chain smoking inside the lobby when we arrived. The first room they gave us hadn't been cleaned-- bedding and trash strewn all over the floor like as if it had been ransacked. Asked for a different room, but it was just as horrifying. The toilet didn't work, the bath tub didn't work, the AC didn't work. Stains on the floor, the walls, the lampshades, yellow stains, blood stains, cigarette burns. Mold in the bathroom, mold in the bedroom. The security deadbolt had been ripped off the door, and the doors didn't lock properly. Don't even try to get your money back- they will lie to your face, and it will never happen. This place is an overpriced, disgusting, health hazard, and should be shut down immediately. Just don't stay here. Please.

You can tell the hotel was at one time a beautiful hotel the room is spacious however the dust was just horrible I don't know what deep cleaning they were doing or have done the dust in the room over the sliding glass door was atrocious there was dust on the nightstand in the bathroom there was dust on the floor by the safe housekeeping did come every day trying to get in to clean and that's surprising knowing that most hotels don't provide that but every 3 days if you stay longer and the location that they placed us I appreciate it it was just right but fix the sign outside, the sign was half broken too missing signs but it was conveniently located on the bus line the staff was nice and friendly and professional except for whomever was cutting the grass left debris all over on the patio part it was a downstairs room but most of all the dust was just horrible I don't know what kind of cleaning they did in that room prior to us getting in there but they need to do better especially in covid other than that great location professional staff but clean the rooms better. There are people with severe allergies and it really worked up my allergies and I don't like people coming in my room once I check in I expect the room to be properly cleaned because once you coming to do room service cleaning dust off of the blinds curtains and all over the room it's just spreading more debris and dust all over the place so just do better with cleaning the rooms after check out other than that , that's the only thing I have to say about it the location or the hotel it was nice the space especially in the room, the hallways were very clean and it was very quiet I will say that.

Reading the reviews, I didn't expect much for an $80 hotel. Stayed in room 103. For the most part the room was clean. Sheets and towels were clean. The comforter did have some old cigarette burns, but the bed was comfortable and there was no smoke smell. The room smelled like cleaning products from a recent cleaning, and there was no hair, crumbs or bugs that I saw. The shower did have a constant low stream of water coming out off the faucet though. The sliding door to the patio operated easily and had a secure lock. The fridge and microwave were clean and operating fine. The AC kept it cold and dry in the room. The lamp USB ports didn't work, but the plugs did. We did not explore the rest of the hotel (pool, fitness, etc.) as we were only there to sleep after going to Busch Gardens (walking distance) and a concert at the Yuingling Center (nearby at USF campus). Occasional traffic noise from the busy road, but overall not the WORST place I've ever stayed (that was a Super 8 in San Angelo, Texas)!

The rooms are dirty. German cockroaches infested mine. The outside of the hotel room is littered with garbage. Online says they provide free breakfast, They DO NOT. It was a comfortable bed and the showers was nice and hot, but for the price they request, it isn't worth it. Try another place to stay. Honestly, the only really good thing about Econo Lodge is the front desk attendant. She was really nice

The pictures of the rooms on the website and Google are very very old and does not show the terrible condition this motel is currently in. Upon pulling up, you could see security cameras, but on some, you can see the wire is cut. I booked a ground floor room and when checking in, I was only given the option of the second floor. There is no elevator. The hallway is gross and there is stains in the carpet. When I enter the room, there is a smell. All of the walls have stains on them and markings. The balcony sliding door frame was separated from the glass and the door was left open about 3 inches, the curtains were white with brown stains on them. There was still crumbs and food and whatever else on the carpet, it is very clear they did not vacuum or clean the floor. I went to heat some food up in the microwave to find fairy old, moldy pizza with bugs in the microwave . The bed only had a sheet and a top comforter which had cigarette hole burns through it. The bottom of the bed has a wood board that was sticking out and I cut my ankle. The air conditioning would not change the temperature. The bathroom was gross as well. I’m pretty sure that they just re-made the beds instead of changing the sheets based on the rest of the room, so I slept in my clothes to be safe from bedbugs, or whatever else would be on the bed. If there wasn’t a hurricane outside and this was the last motel available, I would have never stayed here worst motel ever!!! Do not stay here

The lady at the front desk was extremely rude to my boyfriend when he was trying to check in. The walls are disgusting. There are stains on the curtain the literally look like blood. We don’t have a fire detector in our room. The bed feels like cardboard and springs. The floors in the hallway are EXTREMELY unleveled which makes all of the doors Unleveled. One kick to the door and someone could easily be in our room. There is no TV remote. The back of the AC controller is missing. Even when I push the batteries back in, it barely wants to connect to the ac unit. The floor isn’t vacuumed. Overall this place is disgusting and not safe. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The staff will get you checked in and give u a key to your room and direct you to the best area to park and enter the hotel in relation to your room. Perhaps answer a few of your questions how ever the services and customer service is limited. The place shows some signs of aging although rooms have received some updates and the place is in much better shape then my last stay there about 3 years ago. Beds were ok comparable to other budget type hotels. Floors were laminate which is much cleaner then carpet. The hotel was quite for the most part could hear the people next door when ever they open or closed there door for the most part that was it. On this stay my room was on the first floor and it had a sliding glass door which gave me access direct access outside the hotel and the grassy areas around. This is very convenient for those that smoke to be able to go out side and still be near the room and be able to see into it as well. If your looking for a less expensive place to stay that is clean this is not a bad choice for a budget type hotel. They have definitely clear out the questionable characters that use to be found at this hotal, which is a marked improvement from prior stats.

This place was quite terrible. The lobby smells of smoke even though it is "100% smoke-free." The building is very deteriorated. The room door has to be slammed to close. The shower curtain was moldy. The shower rod was barely hanging because the tiles it was attached to were cracked. The bathroom vent looked like it had never been cleaned. The cabinets had water damage and didn't even close. The air conditioning remote was not working with the A/C. The remote was missing the battery cap. One of the bed frames was completely unalligned with the bed and the metals parts were sticking out. A maintenance person was able to come fix it but when it was moved you could see how rusted it was and the residue on the floor. The only good thing about this place was the very nice front desk lady.

We stayed here as my oldest attended Bush Gardens Camp, and I could walk from the hotel to Camp drop off. We had 2 rooms 107, and 108. Both rooms had clearly and freshly been smoked in. Some burns in the comforter were the size of a quarter. The floors are also lenorium but had not been cleaned in a long time. We swiffered it ourselves, and went through 1 case in each room. Yes it was that nasty. The hair dryers also didn't work. 107: The hot and cold water were reverse, the fire alarm was missing but exposed wires were left. 108: Is supposed to be handicapped. The tub only had the bar as a support, and the faucet was too short for the sink. So, instead of the water running into the sink it ran on the counter. The mattress has weak spots and the base was too small, while the extention supports extended past the bed, which was really hard on my shin. There is no breakfast, even though it still shows as an amenity, and the pool I getting filled with cement. If I had know what it was before our stay I wouldn't have stayed. They did give me a partial refund, and the staff was super sweet.

I had a mandatory evacuation order due to Hurricane Ian. Econo Lodge was one of the few offerings one the Internet with thousands of people looking for a hotel/motel room to ride out the horrendous storm. Price was not a consideration. As so many others have mentioned, the Econo Lodge on East Busch Blvd. in Tampa has seen better days. Anything that could be mentioned about the hotel would attract a one-star. No power, no TV, no lights, no anything. Our stay in this place was horrible. Only a wrecking-ball could turn this place around.

Room was very big. The hotel is old and smells old. I guess the price was ok but next time I'll be staying somewhere else.

About 15 minute walk or so from Busch Gardens. The rooms are somewhat roach-free, but hey, that's Florida for ya xD I would definitely sleep here

  • 3/5 Adam G. 8 months ago on Google
Other reviews and pictures are factual. Rooms were about as bad as they can be. Pretty sure there was blood on the drapes, as well as cigarette holes in the blankets, dirty floors all the baseboards, and small roaches here and there. With that, it's the only hotel within walking distance to Bush Gardens, less than 5 minutes until you are in the preferred parking lot, and then staff are extremely friendly!

This is not a pet friendly hotel after I booked on line took an Uber to the motel they refused to let me stay. I jumped back on my phone trying to recover a ride and new motel she told me to get out before she called the law. Thankfully I found a la Quinta and another Uber before the law arrived, if your stick don’t waste your time here.

It sucks that this is the only hotel option for convenient walking distance to Busch Gardens. This place is a dump. Yeah I think the beds and towels were clean but nothing else seems to be. I'll never stay here again.

It is what it is honestly. Its a cheap hotel that doesn't really need to update things because people keep renting rooms. Dead roach in our room, live roaches scattering in the hall next to the vending machines. Didn't see them till towards the end of our stay and they're somewhat inevitable in Florida so I get it. The part that gets me was the plastic bedspread and lack of actual blanket. Not the most comfortable. The floor made me question my weight a bit as a couple places sagged when I stepped on them. The fridge was hard to open because it was sagging forward. Noticed before we left that the dresser and tv had a lean forward as well. Now for the good. Our room was clean, no smell of mold and the in room airconditioning kept the humidity low. The shower was great, obviously more recently remodeled and also clean. That hot water too, kept going hot for a while.

Disgusting hotel. Filthy room. Bed had only two small pillows and no blanket. Asked front desk for extra pillows and a blanket, we were told no more pillows and no blanket but we can turn the ac up. AC stuck on 20Β°C. Only one clean bath towel, I dried off with a washcloth so my spouse could use the one clean bath towel. Floor not swept or mopped. Bathroom sink fixture had dried toothpaste spit and hair on it. Shower curtain rod falling off wall, curtain would not stay closed due to this and water soaked the floor. Other people’s hair in bathtub. Just gross! We paid a premium price $200 for the night as they raised prices because of a high profile concert in town. All other hotels were booked. And we need to room because we had work in town. Choice Hotels should hold their constituents accountable for lack of standards. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

********DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL******** THE WORST HOTEL EVER!!!! YOU WILL NOT FEEL SAFE OR CLEAN. Dirty bed sheets (bugs, stains, bodily fluids, hair, dirt skids) No toilet paper. Broken upper lock. The whole hotel smelled like weed. We saw roaches by the ice machine. The doors that went outside were not locked, you didn't need a card to unlock the door! Not secure at all. Very sketch and the same car was driving around in circles around the hotel all night. We left. THIS IS NOT A GOOD DEAL, SPEND MORE MONEY IN THIS AREA OR BOOK A HOTEL SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!! THE WORKER WASNT EVEN SUPRISED WHEN WE TOLD HER. NO REFUND AND WE STAYED FOR LESS THAN A HOUR!!!!! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!! IF YOU STAY, MAKE SURE YOU CARRY.

This place is horrible, I booked this hotel for our last night on vacation, we were only in the room 5 mins and we found bugs on the bed, stains on the comforter, room was dark, shade was broke, no smoke detectors. We went to the office and told them we weren't staying in this dump. Anyone considering staying at this hotel, you might be safer sleeping under a bridge. Choice hotels should be ashamed to have this hotel listed under their name.

$250 for a Friday night to Sunday morning, - Lobby has an old dingy odor to it. - Keys to the 1st room didn’t work. Had to move us to another room - Room was dirty - No cleaning service Saturday morning, but they were working. - Checked for bugs. There were none but the mattress were dirty. - Continental breakfast was hot coffee. Only, hot coffee. I wouldn’t stay here again for that price.

I would not recommend this hotel. I was to stay six nights, I lasted one. It was awful. I don't think they cleaned the room before I checked in. It was dirty, blood splatter on the walls, cigarette ashes on the floor, one of the beds the sheets hadn't been changed, the other was questionable. I think the hotel is filled with locals. They don't bother the guests, but no one takes care of this hotel.

  • 2/5 Vicki B. 1 year ago on Google
This was a rather disappointing stay. Hotel was run down, not the best location and seemed to have a lot of permanent type residents. For the most part the hotel was fairly quiet and guests and staff were polite.

Good experience, front desk gentleman help by not charging me for an extra room I didn't need. Appreciate it. Didn't get a chance to experience the pool. Maybe next time. Room was spacious, clean most important mo loud noises at night

Do not stay here. There was garbage everywhere when we came in, the beds were dirty, there was mold in the bathroom, half the outlets don’t work, there was drug deals happening the whole night, and the locks didn’t work. We asked to be comped a little because we kept discovering new things that were wrong and we were turned down. When we asked to be changed to a different room they said that there were no more (which was a lie because our friend came a few hours later and got another room). Stains everywhere, the room smelled, and the pool is disgusting. This should be a $70 room not a $115-$130 room. Not worth it, don’t even bother.

Do not stay here! This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! I visited Tampa on personal business and just needed an affordable place near the airport to catch an early flight. I arrived late and just needed some sleep. It was too late to find another place; otherwise I would have. I am ok with basic amenities, but I'm not ok with filth. The entire place is in disrepair and not clean. Hallway carpets were dirty. In the room, the tub faucet ran constantly and could not be turned off. The sink drain was very slow. All surfaces were dirty. Sheets were stained. The blow dryer did not work. The TV remote did not work properly. There was a slider out to a small 'patio' that had a cheap make-shift lock. There was a coffee maker and no coffee. I could go on and on. Choice Hotels should dump this place!

Worst hotel ever, don’t go there. Stains in the curtains, sheets with cigarette burns, bad smell. Room completely dirty, bathroom with apparently used and dirty towels. We were going because it’s close to bush gardens and we had to leave and find where to stay in the middle of the night. When we told the person in the front desk that the room was awful he just said ok. It doesn’t worth 5 dollars.

Only one star because can't give anything less. Horrible customer service had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up at the counter just to check in. Place reeks of cigarettes and other unmentionables. The place is not kept clean and the walls are paper thin. If you're looking for a cheap place this is it. Don't expect much! You get what you pay for...

I would not recommend this hotel. The pictures online does not represent what I actually received. The hotel had an awful smell, I was so disgusted with how bad it smelled. The room smelled and looked very old. There was a hole in the door, the sliding glass door did not lock, there was no running water, so I was unable to shower. There were roaches in the room, The lamp shades were filthy, the curtains were stained with brown smudges that look like dried up blood. I have reached out to the property manager, who never responded back to my calls or emails. I had to go through booking.com and choice hotel to file a formal complaint. And the property manager only wanted to give me back $44 and I paid $90 for one night. I am highly disappointed with the general manager Sam Patel and and how he manages and maintains the property. I will be filing a complaint with BBB. I only gave 1 star, because you have to rate it. Because, I wouldn't give a star at all for this mess.
