Extremely disappointed. I always enjoyed being greeted by hostess and having a waitperson take my order. I liked the real plates and silverware, having condiments on the table. Now you are not greeted, you order at a kiosk, limited menu and everything is self service and you get your food in a plastic basket, paper cups and plastic silverware if you can call that 4 inch knife a knife. You have to ask for condiments because they don’t ask. If I want that type of service, I’ll go to McDonald’s or Burger King instead. There was no one in there at 8 pm which was highly unusual. We always had to wait for a table at this location. The way it was before made it a special place, we went at least once a week. The wait staff was pleasant and made you feel welcome.

My order was not correct. I had to remind them I had paid for a drink. The quality is not what it had been in the past. This was my last visit. Should not have gone this week because at my prior visit, a young man was standing near the pay/order window burping repeatedly. I asked to speak to a manager. The girl replied "well I guess I could be a manager."

This was my first time going inside a Steak and Shake in quite a while and I have to say I was very disappointed. There are no more waitresses at Steak and Shake nobody that works behind the counter at all. You order your food from a kiosk and then sit down and they call your name and you walk up to the counter and get your food. You also make your own drinks, everything is self-service now. There are no paper placemats on the tables no caddies full of Steak and Shake sauces and spices. It has completely taken away from the old time nostalgic feeling of going inside and being served at a diner. I don't even think I spoke to one employee when I went inside because everything is do it yourself . Even though the food was really good I do not think I will be going inside anymore as it is just very sad to see this change. It also seems this change was just to save the company money. I can't even imagine how many people lost their jobs to a kiosk. In this day and age does everything really have to be self-service. Can we leave a few things untouched.

Absolutely horrid. The drive thru took an extremely long time. The manager said it was because everything is prepared when ordered. Yet my food was cold. There's no care given in presentation and they fill your shakes with whip cream. I won't go back.

This restaurant is all computer kiosk driven. You order before being seated and food is prepared for pickup by name on order. There's no server at all. I enjoyed my usual budget $4 combo with the famous vanilla shake. The cost fit my retirement budget. I love the new dinning room process. It took me a while to navigate the kiosk but a figured it out without assistance. The manager and staff offered assistance but I'm an independent woman.

As I passed by Steak n Shake, I couldn't resist ordering their famous Chicken Fingers. I opted for a quick to-go order and was pleased with the service as my Chicken Fingers were ready in no time. Upon receiving my order, I was delighted to find that the chicken fingers were hot and delicious. The fingers themselves were fulfilling and satisfied my craving for chicken. I absolutely loved the taste and enjoyed every bite.

Had 4 great meals 2 sourdough steak burger meals. A bacon steak burger meals and double steak burger meal. Fresh food and good service even though we got there 15 minutes before closing. No one rushed us just let us eat, great place will be back.

8/ 05/2023, 11:40 pm, girl working drive thru no common courtesy, spoke twice to her and did not speak back. Manager in the past working drive thru is very polite.

Came here for a quick bite and after seeing a long line at drive thru stepped inside to place my order. Food came out quick and was very good.

This Steak and Shake is on Bruce B. Downs in Tampa.. I had a double steak burger with cheese that was made while I watched.. There are choices of extra pickles, onions, mayo or mustard, etc... The combo came with fries freshly made and a drink.. The food was good, I enjoyed it.. Customer Service was good.. I was acknowledged as soon as I came in.. The restaurant was clean.. I will definitely go back.. Good job Steak and Shake..👍

I've never been to Steak n Shake. That's changed forever. The garlic double burger is insanely delicious! The manager made sure I felt welcome. Everything was great except the booths in the restaurant.

The food was good but the service was not so good. They gave us the burger but forgot our shakes. We had to wait some time for them to get them.

The people that work the night shift. 8/31/2023 need to find a different jobOrdered from there are burgers were smashed like a 2-year old putting together, nah a two-year-old would have done a better job. It's like they sat on it!!! Steak and shake just lost one of their best customers never going to a steak and shake again

They take the order and dont get it right. Make you pull up to stop sign and smile as you paid for your order but made wrong.hard earned money for this.manager should be aware of this. Experience at this place is bad

The food and service was very good this time. The shake came in a smaller container and you had to go up to the counter to order and get your food but other than that we had no complaints. We will go there again soon.

Can’t get an order right. Lack the ability to mix a milkshake or put the proper amount of flavor in it. Have given three chances in the last two months. All fails. Will not return. My last visit I tried to order a milkshake and was told the machine was broken. As I waited for my food which took over 20 minutes, The manager made multiple milkshakes to take to the front. Poor service!

The service was very friendly! Multiple employees, including the manager, checked on us while waiting for our food to let us know what was going on. The manager made a friendly conversation while we waited for our order as well. The food was hot and fresh. The fries came straight out of the fryer and were fantastic. The restaurant temperature was extremely cold, but we were just getting a togo order, so it wasn't a problem. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend it!

Excellent customer service. Greeted with a smile at the door and counter, even from employees just walking by. Some places do have great people that help restore my faith in Humanity!!

I don't get a milkshake every night from steak 'n shake... But when I do I get them from one very special manager. Tonight the manager at steak 'n shake made me feel so very special. I didn't catch her name. Young black woman with bleach blonde hair that just look overworked but still willing to get the job done. I ordered a cookies and cream milkshake made with Oreos for the cookies and I asked for some caramel to be added to it which is my signature favorite thing to do and unfortunately she said they don't have it on the menu... And then she said we're actually out like all the way. I said no big deal pulled around for my milkshake with no caramel and she took my money and then handed me the fattest most hooked up looking Oreo cookies and cream milkshake I've ever had with caramel in it that she'd gone to the back and found! Thank you so much Miss manager. You keep making people smile and I'm going to keep on living that life. Good night

Called multiple times on the status of my doordash order and no one picked up the phone leaving me hanging. Used to love this place but now i don’t know what’s going on

Awesome as always. Great burgers and fries. Don't forget the survey code. Receive a delicious milkshake!

Food was mediocre and a bit more overpriced for what it is, Steak n Shake is not how I remembered it from 10 years ago. But the service was nice and the manager checked in with us often to see if we were doing good, super friendly establishment. Ordered a double cheese burger with bacon, medium fry, and a strawberry shake, it is what it is, nothing too special. Next time I come back to any location, I'd probably just get a shake.

Went today with my son to kill some time between Dr. Offices. Food was great, so I'm not going to rate low for my experience. I had a seizure in the back booth by the bathroom. 2 feet away from us they were having a work meeting. Not one person offered to help my son. He would have appreciated a bad of ice or some cool water to help me (after) . Often times depending on how I fall, he might need a hand lifting me so I don't hurt my hand. He told me he had to wrap his entire body around mine so my legs didn't convulse into the diners across from us, they were banging on the partition. I could not belive the humanity to help a young kid while he held his mother's lifeless body afterward, either. My shake was great, though.

Do not open someone else's phone, even if they lost it, and especially don't post to Facebook on their behalf about it. The food was good enough to leave the second star up, though.

Worst experience I’ve ever had dining in an establishment. The manager does NOT possess an ounce of professionalism and models 100 percent deplorable and unacceptable behavior in front of the staff. Slammed the tray down on the counter, and when asked to correct HIS mistake on our order, he started a temper tantrum and his entire body flailed as he yelled so loudly the entire restaurant could hear him, making dining uncomfortable for EVERYONE!!! Never apologized for HIS mistake and proceeded to blame ME for his poor behavior. This place is very run down and the disgusting/filthy lobby is a perfect reflection of poor leadership altogether. Floors were black w/droppings and napkins everywhere , tables sticky and dirty. GROSS visited on 5/6/23 9 pm just in case someone cares to follow up on this!

Visited with my wife for a quick bite. This place used to livelier with servers, but now there are kiosks to order food and it's just not the same. The people that do work there are very friendly, but it just doesn't have the same feel. The food is still pretty. tasty and fresh.

This place is run by good people. The burgers are awesome. I'm not a fan of the chili but that's just me. They have a great menu.

It was okay, haven’t been there for many years. A lot changes no waitress. You order from Kiosk. It’s almost like McDonald’s. They hand in your food and have a seat. I wish they had that taco salad

Ordered a hot dog combo through DoorDash and the hotdog was far from edible. Completely burnt and black. On top of that I keep calling back and they keep picking up and hanging up immediately. Don’t go here

Walked in only had kiask for order. Tryed three of the four none worked and an employee on break told me the fourth one might work. Nope left because they obviously don't need my business. One cook one drive through window person. Steak and Shake off my list.

Asked cashier to make the order fresh. When received I asked cashier again if everything was made to order. Cashier stated that everything was made fresh. As I checked my food it was cold. The fries double dipped in oil and stale. I’m also pregnant and they served me raw bacon. This is unacceptable for the fact, when you come to order your food and you asked politely for the food your paying for is being microwaved instead of freshly cooked.
