Lack of consistancy is all over. Today Caribe joined the ranks. I drove past 3 other places to get my sandwich here since it was so good last time, even though it costs more. Hugely disappointed with what I got. Could have paid half at any one of 2 places I past on the way there. I generally come here for a sandwich or morning coffee w/ a pastry. Pleasant atmosphere, groups conversing while getting breakfast to start the day, families w/ kids and young couples crowding in to this small locale. Small eating counters at the front and by the kitchen. Serving breakfast, lunch, soups, sandwiches and specials. Foods good.

I’ve been here a few times and each time has been above average in taste. Picadillo- Absolutely delicious. This was not overly salty which is common in restaurants picadillo but this was flavourful with Pugh dehydrating you! 5/5 Yellow rice- this was an optional side. It was great, paired well with the picadillo. On its own, it was a little dry....maybe I didn’t get the freshest rice. 4/5. Black bean Soup- this was an optional side. Delicious on its own and on top of the rice. Not overly salty also. 5/5 Salad- this was an optional side. This was not very flavourful with whatever dressing they provided. 3/5 Spaghetti with Jaiba sauce (daily special)- I was not a fan of this. It was fishy in flavour. I would not take this again. Luckily it’s not permanently on their menu. 2/5 Mofongo with shrimp in sauce- I don’t know why I expected this to be mixed in with the mofongo. The shrimp was “seafood boil” in flavour, which is not my favourite. The mofongo was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and came with butter with garlic in it. It came also with this cold soup/broth which I had no idea what to do with it. I drank it and did not like it. I then poured it into the mofongo and it added a little bit more flavour but I did not add the whole thing. I’d probably get it with pork the next time.3/5 Ropa Vieja Sandwich (no picture)- it was a good sandwich but the meat was a bit tougher than I would have liked. But the flavour was there. 4/5

Cafe caribe has always been one of my favorite spots to eat at. The food is insanely cheap and the quality does not suffer at all for it. Plenty of amazing options down to the hearty broth of the chicken noodle soup to the crispy breading of the fried chicken. This place will forever be one of my favorite places to enjoy some food that tastes like it was made by a real person. Love this place, so much.

Man the food in this spot was great!!!. The Cafe con Leche was exquisite. No wait time to get in, nothing fancy but they got the food and the service right. That's what's important. I would give this place 4 stars but for the plastic/ styrofoam wear for in house customers.Trust me I get it but pre or post Covid that's not economical. Your food is great show it off on real plates.

Very friendly staff, good value. Maybe more of a preference thing, but the Cuban bread was lacking the crunchy flakiness I prefer, had more of a soft bready feel. Also the parking lot is awful.

It was OK. Cuban bread was too thin for my liking, the ham was lunch meat, and the pancake reminded me of the frozen type. My coffee, eggs and potatoes were spot on delicious. Would had preferred my utensils, plate, and cup to be the real deal.

Need a pick me up before work ? Stop by and get yourself a cafe con leche with Cuban toast /butter . Very simple and good . You can easily order ahead of time and they have a pick up spot up front . But once you walk into the place you are greeted and your order will be taken and placed . They have many options for breakfast with reasonable prices .

Cooked to order. Cuban breakfast sandwich was great. Veggie Cafe Caribe was good. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced.

Cafe caribe has always been a favorite of mine and my family since their inception. All their servers have a sense of urgency, they are very courteous, and most certainly the food is delicious. Cafe Con leche is always hot and tasty, the Cuban toast is never short of butter, and is always toasted. I must also mention that the variety of food they have, although I have not tasted it all, is always looking delicious. You must try it!

The prices is the best one! Service fast! Love this place, for breakfast the best place here in Tampa!

Great fresh hot and tasty food! Danny is one of the best server there. When we come in even before we sit, she knows what we are planning to eat and the food come out quick.

Our waiter was great, super friendly and helpful. The food was okay flavor wise. The only thing I’ll say is the price a little pricey for the kind of food. But def worth a try. The portions were good.

The last few times we ate here the bacon, egg, and cheese Cubans have been completely flavorless, thin, and just not good. We kept coming back hoping one would be delicious like the first one we had a while ago. I don't think we will back now, even though the location is great, along with the prices.

Online order of croquet sándwich and smoothie . Smoothie did not taste like smothie at all ,even when it says it was supossed to have ice cream ,it was and icy weird favor drink Croquett sándwich ? Un pan gordo casi quemado con unas croquetas frias adentro y ya esta Horrible

This is a wonderful diner with excellent food and delicious coffee! We loved the Cuban sandwich and also their iced latte. Will definitely be back to try more things off of the menu!

Love the cuban sandwich and Cafe con Leche. You can't go wrong. All the workers are very friendly and even the owner. I'd visit anytime to this Cuban Cafe! Lots of other stuff to try as well!

I have wanted to find a good Cuban in the area and this place was recommended by someone that loves the breakfast. My Cuban was soggy and luck warm to cold. It was tasty so I ate it and the staff were extremely friendly. But I'll go elsewhere for a cuban.

Best Cuban Sandwich that I've had in a long time! I've lived here in Tampa for 35 years. Tried many. This place is the best! I will be back!!! Can't wait to try their pastries next time!

Love this place! My family and I go for breakfast regularly and the food is delicious, quick, and well-priced. The servers and staff are very attentive and always kind! I always go in hungry and leave full and happy!

Very cozy, clean diner with a very friendly staff that actually remembered me and my son from my very first visit. They are always checking on you to make sure you have everything you need. The Cuban sandwich and black beans with yellow rice is delicious and the cafe con leche is addictive. The meal price was less than the cost of parking downtown Tampa.

I ordered a cuban sandwich (no pickles & no mustard) and sweet plantains. It took them 35 minutes to make my order. When I got the order my sandwich was slathered in mustard and had tons of pickles. My sandwich was never heated as the cheese was not melted nor the bread toasted as is typical of a cuban sandwich. Overall a really disappointing experience both in the quality of their service and their food.

We used to order from them every weekend and everything was always great. The past two times we ordered from them the orders were completely wrong. I ordered the breakfast special with corned beef hash and they gave me no protein at all. The second time we ordered it was through Uber eats and it was wrong again. I ordered the breakfast special with corned beef hash, extra corned beef hash and bacon. Potatoes on the side and extra toast on the side. We received the breakfast special with one piece of bacon, no corned beef hash again, no cafe con leche and the toast was super burnt. If you don’t have the corned beef hash please tell customers that when they call and order and remove it from the menu. We live right up the street and are sad to say we won’t be ordering from a place we frequented all the time ever again.

You cannot deny that the croissant bacon egg and Swiss is absolutely amazing. Once I took a bite I couldn't stop until it was gone. Delicious. I don't like the Styrofoam for the coffee but apparently you can request it in a different glass, so that's helpful to know.

Usually i love this place, ive brought friends here before. But today only half my order was taken before waitress walked away, nobody checked on my table once the food was served with the check, and the large coffee was taken away before i could drink half of it while i was using the restroom. Experienced was very rushed and un-welcoming, nobody smiled. There were plenty of open seats so i dont see why i had to be rushed out, sadly i dont think I'll be returning. Everytime before this was fantastic but i can no longer reccomend this place to friends.

Ordered a philly sandwich and chicken noodle soup combo. Was very dissapointed. The Chicken noodle soup came with an entire chicken wing in it. Now that I wasn’t too upset about because that’s how I usually make it at home, just take the meat off the bone first because it just makes sense too. But the soup had bones in it from the chicken wing!! The philly sandwich was also lackluster, seasoning on it was alright, but the steak strips were so over cooked that they required a lot of chewing that it made my jaw hurt!
