Hotel is unsafe and management is incompetent. My wife stayed here last week for the first time since it’s close to the concert venue. She found her room was missing it’s smoke detector (which is required by federal law). She went to the front desk and the attendant asked if she was a smoker and proceeded to tell her he thought she’d be okay since she didn’t plan to smoke in the room. Zero help. The condition of the hotel overall is also nasty and unacceptable. I urged her to contact their corporate office to complain and so she did. The general “manager,” Gina Santiago, apparently got her feelings hurt when informed of what a terrible hotel manager she is and sent an email attacking my wife. We are currently talking to the corporate management once again and also have started the process of filing complaints with the state and county health departments and regulatory agencies regarding the unsafe and unsanitary conditions at this hotel. Do not waste your money.

When Belinda Carlisle said “heaven is a place on earth” she was talking about the Econo Lodge. The view of Tampa from the window left us all speechless. The carpets were clearly brand new, and the scent in the room could only be compared to a deep breath of fresh mountain air. Guessing what the mysterious fluids on the wall were always kept us on our toes. The pool (pictured) was the perfect temperature. Will definitely be coming back here in the future for another resort getaway.

The drip coffee was to die for. The staff made me feel alive again. The beds were extremely comfortable I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. There weren’t even any cigarette holes on the sheets! If I could move in here full time I would. Probably the best hotel I’ve ever been to in my entire life.

We were a bit hesitant to book this place pre-flight out of Tampa where we had a very early departure, based on some reviews. But, it turned out great. Decent room was old but clean and comfortable, and we left our car for 11 days there without any problems and for a great price. Highly recommended.

If I could give it a 6 I would! They say there are seven wonders in the world but after my stay here at the Econo Lodge I think we should re consider that. This place was one of a kind. The aroma left us all speechless when we walked into the door. The front desk was welcoming and extremely helpful! I will be making up excuses to come to Tampa Florida as often as possible to get myself another slice of paradise!

One of the worst hotels I've stayed at in Tampa, better yet Florida, no wait a second America! On 2nd thought the world. I am a diamond elite member and it meant 0 to them. This one location was so horrible I am contemplating if Ill ever book with any choice hotel ever again in life! The issue rudeness and no regard for a patron's time. I tried to check into my king room and got the run around for 3 hrs. At almost 5 pm my room still wasnt ready. The front staff were powerless to help and the customer service line in India wasted a hr of my time with no resolution. Then to make matters worst when my friend exploded in rage for waiting 2 hrs after check in time for a room we were told to leave or get arrested! And on top of that the unsavory drew park characters there....do yourself a solid save your money!

This is an Econo Lodge, which may possibly stand for ECONOMIC LODGING. We have been staying here for a job for around 3 months, in different rooms (not generally on weekends and not for the Swift concert) and the rooms may vary in shape, but they have the essentials of bed, bath, sink, desk, and even some things that lower rate hotels don't provide like a TV, mini fridge, and a microwave. The staff has been nothing short of pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. We stay in many hotels of varied status and based on the reviews I've read here, there are things people are forgetting to mention. After COVID many places do not clean the room unless asked or between turnover of guests. Simply ask for fresh towels or sheets and they are given to you. This is an older hotel, so there are bound to be things that need fixing. I've seen some renovations they've been working on, and unlike some hotels that close out a floor to renovate, it seems they do it slower room by room, making it so those staying here are not inconvenienced by the sounds of construction or smell of adhesives for the floors. This is a wonderful, economical choice if you are needing a place to stay and don't require a mint on the pillow or a red carpet entrance.

I recently stayed at Econo lodge airport @RJ Stadium and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Upon entering my room, I discovered a significant roach infestation, which made the room completely uninhabitable. Despite immediately informing the hotel staff, they were unable to provide me with a suitable alternative or offer a full refund for the inconvenience. The presence of roaches was not only unsanitary but also unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. It was disappointing that the management did not take the matter seriously and failed to address the issue adequately. As a result, I had to find alternative accommodation at my own expense. I believe that a hotel's primary responsibility is to provide a clean and comfortable environment for its guests, and in this case, that expectation was not met. I strongly advise potential guests to thoroughly inspect their rooms upon check-in to avoid such an unpleasant experience. I hope that the hotel takes this feedback seriously and implements measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Unfortunately, due to the lack of satisfactory resolution, I cannot recommend Econo lodge airport @RJ Stadium to others."

Filthy. Needs updating and cleaned thoroughly. I checked in & checked out all within an hour. Lady who checked me was quite kind. I talked to management on phone, my cell phone, didn't want to touch phone in room. I explained all issues with room (bugs, mold, too big of a gap in door/daylight & Bugs, hair & cigarette burns on sheets, mold on AC filter, peeling/chipped paint on walls & ceiling) she asked if it like Housekeeping to come or change rooms. I said it like full refund and check out. She said ok.

$145 for the most terrible stay I’ve experienced. The room did not get colder than 80 degrees. The bed was uncomfortable. The stairs leading up was held up by a pallet of wood. The bathroom vent look like it hasn’t been dusted since 1999. The smoke detector was exposed with wires. The ceiling looked like it was going to fall due to extreme water damage that has not been repaired. When asking for more towels, they said they only had 2 left. Avoid and pay extra to stay somewhere else.

145$ for 1 night plus 100$ deposit for this trash place is a laughing matter. Vents in the bathroom look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. Carpets were dirty AC Hardly worked smelled like dead fish stairs looked like it was being held up by a pallet fridge didn’t work no pillow cases on pillows 1 towel and when asked for more they said they ran out. Should I keep going???? This place is hands down the very worst place I have ever stayed in. You are better off sleeping in your car in a target parking lot.

Had to wait 20 minutes to check in which I was the only one there supposedly doing a shift change at 4:13 in the afternoon then the phone rang but they were able to speak to the person on the phone making me wait even longer. Then I had to put $100 deposit down for a room that was already paid for. Now let’s get to the room horrible! They tell you no smoking in the room yet it smelled of stale cigarette smoke no garbage can holes in the wall walls not write down had a hold the toilet handle down to flush in the past night because neighbors were too loud.

I mean the front desk ladies are cool but the room it’s self is gross & definitely not worth the price. I got a smoke free room but the sheet to lay on was covered in MULTIPLE cigarette burns. & the toilet was disgusting. I wouldn’t come back. Could definitely use a lot more effort. I understand what it’s like being a cleaning lady I’ve done it for years. But this was unacceptable.

You get what you pay for. My sister and I stayed for 2 nights and I would NOT recommend two women staying there by themselves. Cant walk out your room without trying to be talked to by a creeper. Room smelled a little musky but wasn't terrible. Didn't see any bugs the the mattresses are BROWN AND YELLOW. Sheets had stains, pubic hair in the shower, big nasty yellow wet looking glob on the floor next to bed in corner, head board had greasy finger swipes on it. Water smelled like rotten eggs. Our AC did work fine and the mini fridge worked well. Girl at the front desk was nice. We stayed because they do not offer refunds but will not be back.

First couldn't get the door to open after at least 20 tries finally opened. The sheets and blankets had cigarette burns. The toilet wouldn't flush properly. The air conditioning was cool at best, never got cold or comfortable after running for 8 hours. Close proximity to Raymond James is the best thing it has going.

Hotel rooms r extremely dirty and hotel staff can care less when u tell them you were given a dirty room. The rooms r old and outdated. The keep nasty garage cans in front of outdoor hotel rooms which is really uncleanily to care to keep trash bans in front of guest doors make no sense. Located is pretty dumpy. It low budget hotel that most likely will not meet your expectations

Our room was actually fine. Our issue was the staff. We were told the hotel was pet-friendly by the staff over the phone, only to be woken up rudely by another staff member telling us we have to check out because it's actually not pet-friendly. The staff were unprofessional and un-empathetic. Would not recommend giving this place more business.

They did not return the deposit amount to me. It's been twelve days since I checked out and still nothing. When I entered I noticed that the headboard of the bed was loose. They said they made a note but I don't know if it's valid as they didn't return the deposit.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! It’s located close to the stadium, but you’re better off sleeping in your vehicle! We checked in and immediately booked the hotel next door. The amount of LIVE roaches in this place was absolutely disgusting. We knew we booked a price friendly hotel because it was just for after a ball game, but unless you are comfortable sleeping with crawling bugs on you, I’d suggest you just stay away from this hotel. I’ve stayed in some pretty bad hotels, but this has been by far the worst’

It was a busy Saturday Night Billy Joel was in concert. I had a reservation it took over 30 minutes to get checked in. The location is great with in walking distance to Raymond James stadium. The room is very outdated, dark and musty. Bed was sagging, and pratically on the floor. The comforter had cigarette burn holes in it. We found. Dirty wash rag in the shower, and there was no water pressure the pull to turn the shower on did not work properly. There was a black ring in the sink. The room serves its purpose of a place to lay your head. I knew I was not staying at a Marriott, but this place was barely a step up from sleeping in my car.

Filthy place. Moldy and dank smelling room. I couldn’t even stay here. Called to cancel the room and left immediately. Their customer service reps said that I couldn’t do it over the phone. I’d have to come back in after Im half an hour away at the hotel I should’ve stayed at in the first place. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone worst accommodations ever, and i was in third world countries while in the marine corps so that’s saying something.

By far one of the worst places to stay.. checked in late. Took 25 mins to get checked in.. There is no pool. Where the pool was. Is now where all the drug users hang. When i opened the room door. First thing i see is roaches. Room was disgusting yellow walls from smoke. Water dripping from bathroom ceiling. This place is a safety issue.

Flew into TPA with my children and chose this place due to how close it was to the airport, the big pool, and free breakfast . We walked in our room and even my children were disgusted. There are definitely roaches ! We requested a refund and left immediately but the inconvenience tied up some of our money from having to book a knew hotel and Ecnolodge does not give you back the 100 deposit immediately. It’s been 4 days and it’s still not back in my account . Do not stay here unless you are looking for a cheap, dirty, place to sleep. Expect to take “little friends” home with you too .

Dirty rooms, not one but two rooms with broken fridge. They did not perform daily housekeeping as expected. Denied my request for extra or even new towels despite a 3 night stay. And an employee referred to my Uber driver (a person of color) as ghetto based on his car and how he drove away. When they were confronted on this they denied ‘saying anything like that.’

I am leaving this review here since we cannot leave one on Hotels.com due to cancelling stay even though we checked in and went to the room. We were in Tampa for the Gasparilla Bowl and need a hotel for the night. We booked through Hotels.com and checked in a 3pm. Needless to say we checked out within 20 minutes due to the condition of the room. Mildew smell, poor paint job with chips and holes, dirty tub with wet toilet paper in the drain, etc. Exterior was also unkempt leaving me the feeling of being unsafe just walking from the parking lot. My wife and I chose to check out and after hearing other guests being told it would take 2 hours to have their room serviced, we knew we were making the right decision. The front desk was helpful though. You know the facility is bad when they don’t t ask what the problem was with the room and offer advice on how to handle Hotels.com with their no refund for cancellation policy. Still waiting Hotels.com to make this experience right with a refund even though we canceled only after checking in and seeing the rooms condition. And, I believe that Hotels.com should not offer this place on their site. Will update this review when we hear from Hotels.com.

Checked into first room air-conditioned set at 60 and room was warm and air-conditioner was leaking inside on floor. Gave use another room put I luggage in and went out for the evening got back and the toilet is running. I opened the tank and the flapper does not cover the drain unless you move it by hand. Shower is to dirty to take a shower and has mold so no shower tonight. Carpet dirty too.Too tired to go get another room. Would not ever stay here. I should be getting this room free. Don't waste your time. I dont think they have any rooms without problems.

This is by far the most horrific place to stay. Our rm carpet was so dirty smells disgusting and the entire rm smell like wet dirty fungus. The bathroom tub was so dirty. even a hole in the wall behind the toilet. There we're People outside drinking loud music middle of the night. So unprofessional and dirty place. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ONE OF THESE LOCATIONS AGAIN. Will post pictures of the rm on my social media Page. So you can see. Don't ever stay here family and friends.

Bug infested, lot of transient people hanging out. A fresh coat of paint isn't a form of cleaning. I would sleep on the asphalt in the parking lot before the bed.

  • 4/5 Krystle T. 9 months ago on Google
This is a very inexpensive option in the area. For the price we paid, the room was perfectly fine. Everything is definitely outdated but for $50 it was acceptable. The room was clean, cold AC no bugs as I've seen others say. The bedding was clean. If you just need a place to sleep and don't want to spend too much this is a good option. Room had mini fridge, full size microwave and large desk.

Everything about this place just pure nasty!! The front desk is not even pleasant definitely not people servers, and you have to put down an extra $100 for room keys!! Was shown 2 rooms both were filled with bugs, roachs, and smelled like it has never been cleaned definitely not livable even for a night to get to the airport

This hotel was decent. No bed buds or weird smells in my room. Location was Convenient. We were only given one towel, the shower water flooded onto the carpet, and they don’t serve breakfast

  • 1/5 Joshua S. 1 year ago on Google
This place is disgusting. The room smells. There are roaches everywhere. There are cigarette burns in the sheets and blankets. The carpet feels both wet and sticky all over. And there are stains everywhere (walls, carpets, ceilings, etc). The only thing this place has going for it is the proximity to Raymond James Stadium (easily walkable). But if I knew how gross this place was, I would have definitely opted for a hotel a little farther away and taken an Uber instead.

Wish I could give negative stars. This has been the worst place I have ever stayed in. Motel 6 is much better than staying here. Save your money don’t stay here! For starters they want an extra security deposit for cleaning and “just in case you smoke inside” like that’s even remotely a good reason to charge extra fees for such an awful room. Secondly, the AC was atrocious and did not even make the room less than 75 degrees (that’s being generous too.) constantly blasting the fan and cool at 60 degrees just didn’t suffice enough to keep us cool during our stay. And lastly, there was some type of room remodeling going on upstairs at all hours of the day except between the hours of 1am to 6am. So if you want to sleep in on your vacation or whatever is your reason for staying here, don’t stay here.

Got a room 09/02/2022 was that Friday everything seemed ok, me and my kids have stayed there befo my son comes to me and I notice a bunch of bite and seen the there were welts on him from some kind of bit. Well let’s just say something told me look a the corner of the bed and it was bed bugs😩 they moved us to another room, but didn’t even offer our money back for that night. My whole left arm and elbow burns and I got bites in my stomach. I didn’t even know I was bit. I have pictures and all. I’m just really mad my son had to go through it. And they didn’t accommodate us.

I had an emergency and needed 1 night. Found this hotel through Priceline for $73 and change with taxes. It was okay, nothing really special however their bed and pillows were so comfy. The AC goes to 60 and it's COLD which I love. TV, little fridge, bathroom, sink. It was perfect for what I needed. I didn't see any bugs, which I looked for and there is NO CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST; just coffee. Employees were very nice and helped me with my luggage to my room.

Terrible smell. This place is filthy... and I'm not a picky person. The carpets were gross and whoever cleaned, did a sloppy job. Mostly the smell was bad. Would NEVER stay here again. Everywhere else was booked, so no other choice but to stay. Did not sleep much, finally left at 4 am.

The best reception staff I've had in a hotel. Most just do their Job with a friendly demeanor nothing wrong with that but the girls here are genuinely friendly and caring. The rooms are a bit run down but hey it's a cheap hotel what do you expect. No bed bugs or roaches or bad smells. Just old.

  • 2/5 Guillermo M. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms weren’t terrible, but the building looks like it’s about to fall over though. Also, no free breakfast. Walked in to the lobby and asked where the breakfast was and the receptionist pointed me to a basket of twinkies, and a juice machine with no juice. The orange and other natural juices were empty. Only mango water. So no free breakfast, only chocolate twinkies and mango water. Also had odd people knock on the door asking for some obviously-made-up persons name. No batteries in the remote in the room. Key cards didn’t work upon first entry. Again, not the worst, just wish they were more honest about how on the “low” side of the hospitality spectrum they fall on. Seems a little dishonest to post fake edited photos and promote free breakfast. Super sketch.

Nice place. Older rooms but clean. The lady at the reception area was wonderful. Clean linens and it was a good stop over. I would stay again.

extremely dirty. mold in a/c vents, chair with one arm, hair in bed sheets, cigarette burn holes in top blanket, a roach in the bathroom, ceiling cracked, doors very hard to open. we saw at least 4 other rooms struggling to open their doors. I spent $450 a night there and the clerk upfront checking me in let me know they normally only charge $90 a night. we went for a concert so I knew the up-charge for that, but didn’t need to be told. $450 a night to stay in a falling apart, dirty, moldy hotel. I don’t know how that place passes inspections. I will never stay there again and have told everyone I have talked to, to stay away!

I booked a night for the Taylor Swift Era Concert. It’s about a 15 min walk to gate A of the stadium (although the entrance to the hotel does go down a dark street) and a lot of parking for guests. The staff is helpful and friendly. However, the hotel is nothing special. The stairs are run down, only bare essentials in the rooms, bed is passable. But for a one night stay after a concert, it’s not too bad; but if you are doing an extended stay I would recommend a nicer place.

1 thing on arrival no front desk person at desk. Waited about 30 minutes to check in. I called choice hotels they called the GM .She finally checked us in . Said we needed to call the front desk person on there cell phone. Room is very out dated. Shower dirty. Sheets torn . Bed's old . Choice hotels website says free coffee and juice 24 hrs a day. No juice website shows things for Breakfast.i was told by GM no breakfast only coffee. That is false advertisement .Room was cheap we got a friends and family rate. Choice needs to change a lot of things.

The location is very convenient to RJ Stadium and the only reason we reserved a room here. It made walking to the Tampa Bucs game easy; definitely a plus that we could leave our car at the hotel and walk to the game. The room itself was pretty basic and blah. It looked clean but it smelled of stale smoke and old interiors. I wouldn’t stay here for any other reason except attending an event at RJ Stadium, when it isn’t ideal to drive to/park at the stadium.

  • 1/5 Alyssa M. 2 months ago on Google • 2 reviews New
When we arrived we noticed the room was very humid and there was water on the floor. No towels in the bathroom either had to go ask for them. Checked the damp floor and it was the fridge leaking because the ice from the freezer melted. Then powered on the AC and it hardly worked, never got above 80 in our room. And in fact our second day there the AC didn’t work at all as there was a “brown out”. I was pouring sweat the whole time we were there. The worker did his best to help us and was nice, but some things are out of his control I’m sure. There were also no other rooms available for us to stay in. I’ve already been refunded but I just wanted to warn everyone before they rented a room here. Only good thing about this place was how close it was to the stadium.
