Absolutely horrendous! I don't even know where to begin. We paid $300 for the night so that we could walk across the street to a concert. $300 for a La Quinta?!?! The place was beyond filthy. I regretted booking there as soon as I walked into the lobby to check in. Everything was dirty. Everything was sticky. The room was disgusting. Mold growing in all the corners of the bathroom, stains all over the carpet, the sheets on the bed were so thin that you could see through them, 3 tiny square "pillows" on the bed. Not surprisingly we woke up to a cockroach on the nightstand. Obviously the owners do not care AT ALL! Breakfast consisted of cereal, some hard boiled eggs and waffles. Not surprisingly, the waffle makers had not been cleaned from the day before. I was the first person to use it that morning and both machines handles were sticky and covered in pancake batter. A small bottle of generic brand maple syrup accompanied this mess. I am in contact with corporate and will be demanding my money back!

Filthy hotel. Great desk staff. They really were nice and wanted to please. The convenience to the fairgrounds was excellent. However the rooms were non refundable $200/ night plus $100/ stay fee to assure no damage. This was a joke. Our room had a filthy tub with a dripping faucet, a broken microwave and a tv remote with no volume adjustment. It had not been dusted in weeks. Dirt in every corner and dead bugs on floors. Candy wrappers under sink. Hall carpet not swept for the two nights we were there (no available rooms nearby or we would have left). Available staff tried but only 1 housekeeper and desk staff really were nice. I think they may all have lived there? However bed sheets were clean and I did check for bedbugs and found none.

This hotel is ruining La Quinta's reputation! Bad smells in the lobby, bad smells in the first room and a ratty looking (non-removeable) mat in the bathtub. We asked to be moved and the second bathroom *looked* better but the room had another bad, musty/moldy smell. We decided to stay anyway. Later, we went in the bathroom and closed the door and found litter behind the door. So, incomplete cleaning. No indication of any sanitation procedures carried out in the room. And the breakfast was so minimal it was almost nonexistent. Eight coffee urns and only one had coffee in it. Two yogurts and two kinds of dry cereal. That was it. Will never stay here again!

DO NOT STAY HERE. The rooms had dirty socks under the beds, loose old candy on the floors, toenail clippings everywhere. It was disgusting. The treatment by staff was even worse. Not only were the rooms disgusting and filthy, the older man working the counter extorted us, told us we were making him lose business, and got mad when we informed him about two dogs locked in a hot black car in 90 degree heat. I have contacted La Quinta MANY times to get refunded. I finally heard back from the manager of this location. Inappropriate in my opinion. Corporate should be handling this. We emailed back and forth and then nothing from them. I would love my money back.

Spare yourself and do not come to this location. Poor quality , not clean. La Quinta inn missed the mark with this location. Room was dirty and the nighttime manager offered to change the sheets only. He apologized and stated I'd have to wait in the morning for the manager to give me a refund. Paid over $200 for a room and got a $50 refund back. Should be grateful as there is a no refund policy But in this case at least $100 should have been refunded. Your customers are not at faulty for walking into a dirty room.Nighttime manager had the audacity to lie and say he offered to clean and give us a brand new room.we would have taken another room had it been offered. I already had an issue when they couldn't find one of the rooms originally that I had booked so from the beginning it was a hassle. Never again , never recommending this location.

I was totally dissatisfied with the room I specifically asked for a handicapped room which we did receive, with a king size bed instead we had a full size bed and it was very difficult for my disabled husband to be comfortable as well as myself in such a small bed. The grout as you entered the room was totally messed up and there were stains on the carpet and food in the corners the table that was so close to the bed you could barely avoid getting into the bed the lamps were were not secure. I have stayed in many hotels including some of yours where this was not the issue this was one of my worst experiences I also convinced my boss and daughter to stay at the same facility her room was slightly better but not worth the cost of what we paid.

Attempted to stay a few months ago, as soon as you walk in I instantly knew I made a mistake. Checked into my room and it was disgusting! Stains on the floor, and paid for a non smoking room and smelt like cigarettes! Asked for money back but they said”we can’t refund you but we can offer you a new room “gave it another shot and ended up in a room that had stains on the bed. Went to the lobby and was able to get refunded. I bought one of the nicest rooms and spent around $150I WOULD NEVER EVER STAY HERE !

I will never stay at this hotel ever again. Everything looks dirty and so old. The room smelled so musty I couldn’t stand it. We had two beds. I was sitting taking to my husband and notice a mask under the bed. As soon as I walked in notice a towel hanging from the shower rod.didn’t touch it obviously was left there from before. I didn’t even want to put my head on the pillows. Got up in the morning checked out and left. I’ll shower at home thank you!

Front desk person was extremely rude. My spouse and I travel with a service animal and the person at the front desk argued that we had to pay a $25/night fee for the “pet.” After enlightening the person on regulations regarding service animals, I finally received my room key. Went to the room, smelt musty and gross. They put the smoke detector in the worst pace (right above the bed) so the wonderful flashing light keeps you up. Also, they tried to charge me more because I booked a standard room (through the app) but they put me in a deluxe (by deluxe I mean there is a fridge and microwave) and I had to make sure they didn’t charge me an extra $150 because of their mistake. Will never stay here again. La Quinta used to be an amazing brand before being bought by Wyndham. So unfortunate.

Recently stayed at this location for 8 nights with my family. I have no complaints. I booked this hotel as a Priceline deal and Honestly the reviews here worried me but I had a great stay. I had to check in late at night because of flight delays and I had no problems. Front desk gentleman was nice and accommodating. Lobby was clean and smelled nice. Hotel is an older hotel, but was clean and quiet. We had a room on the third floor, two beds. My room did have a refrigerator and microwave. Room was clean and neat. I do think the rooms are a little dated, hotel Is family run I believe: but that did not negatively affect my trip at all. Beds were comfortable and soft. Room was quiet, air was cold. The continental breakfast was cold cereal, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, make your own waffles, orange juice, apple juice and coffee. Nothing fancy, but better than nothing. The pool was clear, clean and water felt wonderful. We never heard any loud music or loud guests. We never had a problem finding parking. The only night we had to park in the back was a Saturday night we got back to the room after 11pm and even then we didnt have a problem. Our room card worked every time with no problem. The elevator ran fine every time. Housekeeping did not clean our room during our stay, but this did not bother me as they did not wake us up and I would ask for towels or whatever we needed with no problems at all. I would stay here again with no hesitation. This was a great vacation.

This place is absolutely disgusting. After checking in, the sheets were filthy and had stains on them. Everything else was gross and you can tell that it was an adequate attempt at cleaning at best. Upon bringing it up to the clerk, he offered me another room and it was the same thing. Stains on the sheet again! Once he again he offered me another room, but I refused! Now I’m trying to get in touch with the manager. However, they’re never there or available (shocker). Don’t waste your time staying here. I’ve seen trash bins and dumpsters that are cleaner than this place.

First of all I don't usually write bad reviews because I realize that everyone has different standards. BUT ... this hotel was disgusting. We got the room so we could walk across the street for a concert. We were running a bit late for dinner so we didn't pay too much attention to the room just dropped off bags and left. When we came back and were getting ready for bed the room had a horrible smell. The smell of mold and cigarettes. My nose and eyes were burning and itchy. There were cigarette burns on the tub. The shower curtain was moldy. The toilet bowl was brown. There was dirt and dust along the mattress and headboard. I was throughly disappointed. With a charge of over 200 non refundable for the night I had no choice but to stay. If we lived closer we would have just driven home. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE clean your hotel who ever the owners are.

We stayed on Dec31st 2022 We were supposed to leave on Monday couldn’t do it. Really there is no words for the conditions of this place they call a hotel. Upon arrival I did not want to check in , we call around no availability, The carpet in the hallway make you want throw up. The elevator dirty and smelled bad., the carpet was so bad you were afraid to walk in the room without socks. The bathroom was so dated the soap Dish had a hole in it. I thought it was a camera in it I placed a piece of paper to block it. The bed was not changed I saw a piece of hair, the pillows case was not changed . I asked for more sheets, the new sheets looked worst than the one that was on the bed. The sink didn’t work. Refrigerator had mold in it. The room was so musty and stink I had to wear a mask most of the time . We left the room to spend time out , we got back in around 4 a.m trying not to think about smell. This was worst experience I ever had in a hotel . I will not allow my dog to sleep in here . Speaking about dogs I love dogs, we were treated less than a third world person. I think we should have been compensated for the room, we checked out at 9:30 could not take it any longer. Department of health really need to visit this hotel.

Don't stay here. Lobby smells moldey. The tub was broken, water damage in bathroom. Bedspread was dirty. The breakfast was cereal or waffles, good for kids, but not adults. No fruit. Really expensive for what it was. It seems like it should be a lot nicer for being across the street from the fairgrounds.

My room smelled like wet cats and when I asked about changing rooms the front desk lady who was rude and condescending.advised I would have to check out the room and check back in at 3pm like what sense did that make if I was already checked in? I simple wanted a different room Because of the smell and roaches….some hotels don’t deserve to operate under the name. And their breakfast is a joke and she tried to charge me $257.00 because it was a concert in town.

Place is gross disgusting dirty. We stayed for a convention and it's terrible. Should be SHUT DOWN BY HEALTH DEPT. STAY AWAY!! In the morning went ti use the sink and a roach was crawling in the counter. Rugs are dirty. The owners are walking around with no shoes on they are not attending the front desk. Seriously would have been better to have slept in my car.

This hotel is outdated and dirty. The hallway carpet is full of stains. There was dust everywhere that looks like it had been there for at least 6 months. A picture in our room was hung upside down. The dryer lint was in piles on the floor. The soda machine didn’t work. The staff were kind, it’s just very dirty everywhere. It needs a deep cleaning and the carpet should be replaced. Our ac unit was filled with dust and smelled moldy in the room. The room price was great, but you get what you pay for.

Booked this hotel last minute for two nights. The first room had USED washcloths hanging from the shower And The shower wasn’t working. We had them switch us rooms and the second room had adult “toys” in it with mold and old food in it from previous guests. It’s unfortunate, disgusting and not worth staying here. NOT TO MENTION, the front desk refused to issue me a refund.

Main areas and room were not clean and the guest room had cuts in the mattress and a broken safety lock. Disappointed in LaQuinta as we have stayed at other properties and they were far better in upkeep and cleanliness than this location.

I made reservation via Priceline to this hotel and I regret it 100% the place was nasty, the Elevator was disgusting, the carpet hasn't been clean in a long time , everything smells, I am not sure how this location still in business, anyways that's just part of the problem, I was there for literally 5 min and I just decided to leave because it was a bad atmosphere, 5 min and easy to charge but to get money back was a pain, almost 2hrs later trying to get $197.50 between Priceline and this horrible Hotel. Be warned before you pay deposit chk the rooms cause you will regret it. Also the rooms have a door where you can literally walk to the next room wasn't even locked like what in the heck. Makes no sense, never again I work too hard to give money away just like that. All I can say is Good luck. I was able to only get deposit but not room reservation fee what a waste, I regret not taking pictures. Priceline should have been also on my shoes they should grade or review this nasty places on their own.

I would give this review a zero star if I could. I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this La Quinta. First off check in took forever, we were the only one checking in and the process took 45 minutes at least. While we were checking in the power surged twice which added to the already long wait and the loony looked very dingy and dirty. Finally once we got the room keys we took the only elevator, which looked to barely be working, to our floor. Once we got to our room we noticed how filthy the room actually was and became very uncomfortable with staying at this hotel. The bed sheets had stains and dirt on them. The pillow cases had stains on them. The bathroom fixtures were rusted. The air container and air vents were filled with dust. And the computer chair was dirty. You can see all of these things in my attached photos. The hotel also claims to have free breakfast but all of that consisted of make your own waffles, cereal, juice, and a barely filled fridge with one or two containers of individually packaged yogurts. Needless to say after seeing the room and how filthy it was, I was very cautious to eat anything from the free breakfast. I would highly recommend never staying at this hotel and spend the money to stay somewhere where you know it won’t be disgusting or filthy.

Decent roadside motel, they had most of the basic things you'd expect from a place at this price. Rooms were ok, clean enough, shower worked very well so that's a plus. They don't give you a mini fridge, but the TV was actually pretty new. Overall it's good enough for an overnight stay in a roadtrip.

Very well located. I am newbee to the area so it was so easy to find. We didn't stay more than one night and we left pretty early they offer continental breakfast on weekends starting at 7am. Good place if you like the casino only a walking distance.

After reading reviews I was worried about how clean the place was going to be. The elevator needed cleaned, and there were some stains on the carpets in the hallways, but over all it wasn't too bad. The only complaints I had were my room didn't have a mini fridge, but we had a cooler so it wasn't too bad in that situation, and the a/c in our room SUCKED. It was set at 60 when we got in the room in the first place and there is no way it was below 80 in there. Knowing that we are in Florida and how hard it can be for a/c units to keep up, especially with the sun on them as well, we figured once the sun went down it would cool off. We left the a/c running at 60 and went to our concert, when we came back it was still in the upper 70s in the room. I took a cool shower and was ok in the room for the night, but had it been a longer stay, I would have been requesting a different room

Don't go to this hotel EVER. Horrible. Booked king sized bed got there they different have it said we where getting 2 queen sized bed. Nope we got 2 twins. The room needs to cleaned by professionals. There was some red stain on the carpet blood or some dye don't know. The tub was peeling. The beds where leaning. There was spiders in the hallway. Carpet in the hallway was dirty and had stains and what seemed to be throw up. Pothole in parking lot. First night they didn't have the light on in the back of hotel. Outside trash was over flowing. Breakfast area was dirty. Horrible experience didn't even say the whole time. Me and the wife we home in the middle of the night cause we didn't wanna stay there anymore. My advice DONT STAY HERE.

This la Quinta location was astounding, great amenities, great customer service from Sonia and Mahima. Bathroom was outstandingly clean, room presentation was very cute. All in all this was a great hotel and me and my family will be back!

Update: Upon going down for breakfast at 920 AM I was told breakfast was only until 9 AM... but after our first night, we got breakfast at 930 AM and when we checked in, we were told breakfast was 7 AM to 10 AM. I downgraded my 2-stars to 1-star. I'm so done with this place. I booked a King Deluxe Room. It's supposed to have a desk and an extra arm chair. I'm traveling with someone who is disabled so the arm chair was part of the reason we chose this room. When we got to the room, no arm chair. Fine, not the biggest deal since we're only staying 2 nights and have the desk chair. The carpets in the room and across the hotel are disgusting, I wore my sandals everywhere but in bed. The carpets are in need of a professional steam cleaning. It's supposed to be a smoke free hotel but the 3rd floor constantly smelled like weed. Both guests and employees smoked just outside the front door, barely 10 ft away, which violates the Florida Clean Indoor Air Act. The bathrooms are in desperate need of remodeling, cleaning will not save them but they should at least do better at that. It was not easy to tell who was an employee and who wasn't aside from name tags that most employees wore. They were in different types of street clothes, housekeeping included. None of the staff was professional. Housekeepers were friendly, but not professional. At one point, we saw two housekeepers laying on the (nasty) floor by the elevator (3rd floor by the laundry) just listening to music and talking. I'm guessing they were using laundry facilities? The location is great, across from Florida State Fairgrounds, less than 20 minutes to Busch Gardens, walking distance to 2 restaurants and a gas station. However, don't let that be the only reason you stay, you've been warned. Also, surprisingly, the bed was very clean and very comfortable. All linens (bathroom and bed) we're actually white and smelled like bleach. I would've left otherwise. I'm honestly saddened that I had some of the best sleep at this hotel because I will NEVER stay at this property ever again. Normally, I love La Quintas. I not only prefer then personally but I also manage a small business and La Quinta is my go-to choice when my employees need to be in the road. Not this location... it's blacklisted.

Starting for the front desk service: ridiculous. Elevator, dirty. Corridor, dirty. Room, smelled really bad and carpet old and dirty. Shower place, dirty. Breakfast environment, dirty and with mosquitoes. I can't believe in 2022 Tampa compliance authorities allow to have hotel service so dirty and low customer quality! Unfortunately I had a horrible experience staying in this Hotel.

This hotel is filthy. We had a very uncomfortable stay. The outside of the hotel is not appealing as it needs a good pressure wash. It wreaks of mold, the carpets are dirty, the bottom of the toilet was dirty, the walls and floor boards are dirty, the pillows have brown stains on them. There is no house keeping. Overall the hotel just needs a complete renovation or deep clean at the least. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's close to I-4 and right across the street from the fairgrounds.
