We stayed here the night before going on a Cruise and the service was Second to None!! Top Notch Mrs. Janice!! Thank you for making things so wonderful! We even came back through when we arrived back to port from our Cruise to The Hampton and Mrs. Janice and Shuttle Driver Miguel held our luggage while we went to the Aquarium!! I was calling her Auntie by the time we left! Thank you Hampton Ybor and Team!!

I can’t speak to the rooms or location because we never made it to the hotel. Our flights were cancelled as we were waiting at the airport to fly to Florida. I am a Diamond member for Hilton so I immediately called the Diamond desk. The hotel refused to refund the points we used to book because we had checked in online. I was told that if we hadn’t check in online, that we would have been refunded. What is the point of encouraging and wanting us to check in online 24 hours prior if we get penalized for it? I pay a lot of money yearly to be Diamond and expected way more from this Hampton Inn.

Not much on writing reviews but had to. Check out is at noon. When my family arrived to drop our bags at 11am with my daughter having sustained a concussion two days prior and not feeling well, Laurie at the front desk jumped into action. She called housekeeping and had a room ready for us in 15 minutes. Rooms are clean and updated. Great service!

The bathroom door did not close correctly. You had to slam it in order to lock it. The bed was so hard hurt my back when I woke up.The bedroom curtain had blood stains on it. It’s like they never took the opportunity to really clean the room. Then I had to call for someone to bring me a plunger because the toilet was clogged and will not flush. I know what I spent was nothing compared to other people but if I’m taking my time to stay at your hotel at least make it memorable. Again the staff amazing and welcoming.

The hotel is nice and clean however, the reason we stayed at this hotel was for the shuttle to and from the cruise ports while allowing you to leave your car at their establishment. The shuttle to the cruise went smoothly but we waited an hour for the shuttle back and it never showed up. We were told at drop off to contact the front desk when we were ready to be picked up. We spoke to the front desk twice and even spoke to the driver when he was dropping others off and was still never picked up. We ended up calling an Uber. Upon returning to the hotel we spoke to the front desk who was completely unapologetic.

This review is strictly regarding the parking package. We recently stayed there one night before our cruise to take advantage of the parking and shuttle to the port. we approached the front desk with plenty of time in the morning to get a shuttle that was supposed to depart every 30 minutes. The staff (woman supervisor maybe) rudely asked us if we had booked ahead (words to that effect), we said we had told the previous night shift person. It’s a shuttle that’s supposed to depart every 30 minutes, worst case we had to wait that long to get a ride to the port. We asked her to check on the shuttle location and how long it would be, “soon” is her response. After 25 minutes and getting close to the boarding time on the cruise ship (it was only 1.5 miles away), we started to get concerned. The employee refused to help with giving us a shuttle update or contact the driver after several requests. After 45 minutes at the hotel we couldn’t wait any longer and we took the vehicle to the port with a plan to drop off the family, bring the vehicle back to the hotel, and either Uber or try the shuttle again. This added a ton of unnecessary stress to the start of our vacation. Once at the port and dropping everyone off, I scrapped the plan to return to the hotel as there was PLENTY of cheaper parking available within 400’ of the port. Convenient, not having to deal with the hotel, shuttle delivery (and I can only imagine the difficulties getting back to the hotel after the cruise!) and stress free. DON’T USE THE HOTEL PARKING PACKAGE. There are plenty of better and more convenient options near the port. Also, the hotel refused to reimburse the parking portion of the stay even though they were the cause of the issues. The hotel’s response is head scratching. I opened a complaint to be reimbursed the parking portion of my stay, $50, with their 800 number. After two weeks and 3 follow ups, the HOTEL’s response was no to reimbursing. They had several opportunities to correct the issue and avoid this review.

Great experience. All the staff were very friendly, room was clean and functional, and loved that they provided free coffee in the lobby area all day. Only drawbacks were that we had to pay for parking (which we didn't notice advertised anywhere) and when we got back from a night out around midnight all the hotel parking spots were taken, leaving only paid parking in other lots nearby.

This hotel is amazing and the perfect location to stay if you have a port of Tampa cruise as they have shuttle service to the ship. Staff is friendly and hospitable - they treat you like friends and family. Special thanks to Miguel and Laurie for great service. Rooms are impeccably clean and quiet for a good nights sleep. They provide a hearty breakfast, relaxing pool, and great location on the free city trolley route. Highly recommend.

Saturday Match 4th 2-3pm. Worker at desk said no rooms were ready. Then we saw 2+ people come in and get a room. I asked again. No, none ready. After about an hour,3 new workers came up to desk. They were hustling and cordial. They got me in a room at once. The lady that was on the earlier day shift was awful. I was polite. We are diamond members and usually don't have a problem arriving a little early. The suite was nice and clean, but we did hear neighbors taking on a normal voice-so walls are super thin. Management needs to clean house of a particular worker. Not the best part of town either, so we won't be back.

My stay was alright rooms really clean and the continental breakfast was delightful… however I had some trouble checking in and one of the staff members claimed my family and I weren’t related, and proceeded to be rude throughout checkout. I wanted to stay somewhere else after my experience but then the staff member explained to me I wouldn’t be able to get a refund and would still pay for my family weekend getaway, decided to make the best out of my the situation and stay however there was plenty of awkward tension between me and this lady for the whole weekend. Wouldn’t recommend only because of her

Hotel was nice, clean and service was good. The location and directions for parking were confusing. There weren't many places to park on the property. The room was what you would expect, beds were comfortable, however the AC never shut off even after adjusting the temp to make it warmer. Also the faucet in the bathroom was on the side of the sink, instead of at the head of it. There wasn't enough room to wash hands properly. The faucet was way too close to the edge, maybe one with a higher spout would be better.

Out of the three Hamptons I have stayed at in the last month, this king suite is the smallest. Especially the bathroom!! Barely even enough room to turn around. Just don’t stretch. Found a few hairs in the bed and the bathroom needs a better cleaning. The ice machine also must be dirty because there is particles in the ice. Parking fee isn’t shown until you’re almost finished booking your room and by that time you don’t want to leave and go somewhere else. Great location though!! Just maybe consider a good update to the smaller overlooked things.

The team at Hampton Inn went above and beyond... I was leaving the hotel early for a meeting, both UBER and the local cab firm were unavailable at the time I requested. The receptionist kindly arranged for an impromptu unscheduled shuttle service to get me to my scheduled meeting on time. (it was 7.30am and I believe the shuttles only run from 9am). Super friendly and helpful team member on the desk by the way. I was quickly driven by what I can only assume was a Manager by his attire (Ben) promptly to my destination. We encountered some challenges accessing the port by local authorities, which led to an unfortunate delay (along with an unnecessarily rude member of the Tampa sheriffs department). Ben was truly accommodating, and assisted in trying to resolve the situation as we were given the 'run around' for a drop off location and also waited in the shuttle allowing me to resolve this situation after a short wait. Ben could have just left and dropped me off but really went above and beyond. He wouldn't even let me leave him a gratuity as a way of thanks, so I truly hope he is recognized for his service and kindness.

The Only Hotel I will stay while in Tampa!! Parking was ample and easy. Front desk service was top notch 👍 Elevators secure by key card, we got the king room which was big and clean and we were able to choose which floor we wanted to be on, the bathroom with the glass shower was really nice However the location was the 🍒 on top walk right outside your hotel and your on the main street of Ybor City 🌆 all the bars, nightclubs, food...etc just everything steps away and when your back in your room, you don't hear anything!!! Oh and I got guest of the day, so nice!! 🙂

Check in was a breeze. The lady was very nice. However the other encounters with the staff wasn't very pleasant. They didn't greet us or even acknowledge when passing by. We stayed for three days and the house keepers did not service the room at all. I've never been to a hotel that doesn't check to see if you need towels, trash removal, etc. When asking for service you have to be placed on a "list" for the next day. It would have taken maybe 15 minutes to replace toiletries and remove the trash. Will not return to this location.

What a great place to stay if going on a cruise! Reasonably priced parking while on cruise. Free shuttle to ships (don't forget to tip). Room was very nice, clean and quiet. Breakfast was good (typically good Hampton breakfast). Tons of places to eat close by. Friendly and courteous staff.

The remodeled rooms were smartly designed and comfortable. The location was perfect; even though I had a rental car (parking is $18/night at the hotel), we walked or rode the free trolley to all our meals and events. Check in was smooth with the friendly Sheena after a frustrating travel day. Breakfast was tasty and Alan goes above and beyond to ensure there’s plenty of fresh food put out. The housekeeping staff are on top of it and all of the facility was clean and tidy. I would definitely stay here again! Check out Acropolis for Greek food, the Blind Tiger for coffee and don’t sleep on the Cuban sandwich at La Segunda.

I'll start with the pros. The staff was very nice, & super accommodating. The location is convenient, with many restaurants within walking distance. The room was very clean. We didn't hear any noise from within the hotel or from outside. We stayed on a weekday; don't know if that made a difference. For the cons. Beds were uncomfortable, the pillows especially so. I've read other Hilton property reviews about having trouble with the charges. We were charged twice by accident, but quickly resolved with our CC company. Also there is an added charge per night, for incidentals. Fortunately we had enough on our card to cover that, the charge for incidentals does get credited back, obviously if there are no incidents. Just be sure to have enough on your card. Side note, there is a charge for parking on the property, so make sure to read the fine print. I gave a 4 star for the pros because that to me far outweighed the cons. I also can't compliment the staff downstairs enough.

Super nice hotel room. Extremely comfortable bed, and bedding. Large, clean updated room and hotel. Plenty of towels, great lightning. They definitely need a smart TV. I do not give 5 Stars to any hotel unless it has a smart tv, amongst other things. Great location on 7th Ave which is awesome with all it's restaurants and shops.

Had a great stay at this location. Very close to all the action. Nice, clean rooms and excellent service. Tayvion checked us in and was very helpful during our time there with any questions we had. He always greeted us and was an absolute pleasure to talk to. This was very much appreciated.

In addition, The woman with the kool glasses was also helpful , I have one small issue this is the the first hotel that did not give us everyday towels every day we had to request However .... Will be coming back! Thank you so much

Hotel was nice but was disappointed with service. It took staff over an hour to respond to a malfunctioning toilet which ended up flooding the bathroom. Front desk said they regularly have plumbing issues in that area. They sent someone to unclog but not to clean the dirty floor. We asked for cleaning but it took them another 20 min to respond so we had to ask for another room. They said we had to pack up our things and come to the desk for a new room. They offered no help. The manager wasn't in until morning but still wouldn't speak to us the next day. Very disappointed.

Laurie at the front desk is amazing! She was so welcoming, accommodating, and pleasant. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The rooms are very nice and clean, breakfast is great, and the location is perfectly located. Once again thank you for being awesome, Laurie!!

Everything seemed relatively clean. Front desk was great. Laurie, a young man whose name starts with a T, and Muhammad were all super pleasant and made us feel like we were VIP 🤣. Location is great for nightlife and strip of bars and restaurants.

We stayed in preparation for a cruise out of the Tampa Bay Port, upon arrival it is evident that this team of employees strive together daily to maximize the experience of their guests. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and cozy linens. Miguel stands out as the super star staff member and goes above and beyond as If he's hosting you personally!

Janice was an awesome host, made our group of visiting Hoosiers feel welcome, and very well taken care of; even while the hotel was very busy on a weekend evening. Hotel is also clean, has great showers and comfortable beds. Highly recommend, especially when Janice is working the front desk!

Mixed Experience at Hampton Inn, Ybor City: Rude Front Desk, Exceptional Housekeeping and Breakfast Crew My recent stay at Hampton Inn in Ybor City was a mix of positive and negative experiences that I would like to share. While the hotel itself offered decent amenities, including a friendly breakfast crew and efficient housekeeping staff, I was disappointed by the rude and condescending attitude displayed by the ladies at the check-in and checkout counters. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was marred by the unprofessional behavior of the ladies at the front desk. Instead of greeting me with a warm welcome, their demeanor was cold and unwelcoming. They seemed disinterested in addressing my queries and lacked basic customer service skills. Their dismissive attitude left a sour taste in my mouth and set the tone for my stay. Fortunately, amidst this disappointing experience, there were a few individuals who stood out for their exceptional service. Firstly, the housekeeping staff deserves praise for their friendliness and dedication. They consistently ensured that my room was clean, well-stocked, and comfortable throughout my stay. Their professionalism and attention to detail were commendable. Additionally, the breakfast crew was a breath of fresh air. They greeted guests with warm smiles and were always ready to assist. Their positive energy and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences made the breakfast experience enjoyable. I appreciate their efforts in providing a pleasant start to the day. Lastly, I must acknowledge a gentleman who I believe was the manager. He was a shining example of excellent customer service. He was genuinely friendly, always ready to assist guests, and seemed to go above and beyond to ensure everyone's satisfaction. His approachability and dedication were evident, and he was quick to address any concerns or issues that arose. However, it is disheartening to note that the check-in and checkout ladies were consistently rude and condescending, not only to me but also to other guests in my company. Their lack of professionalism and courtesy left us feeling unwelcome and undervalued as guests. In conclusion, my stay at Hampton Inn, Ybor City was a mixture of positive and negative experiences. While I applaud the efforts of the housekeeping staff, breakfast crew, and the friendly gentleman who appeared to be the manager, the behavior of the check-in and checkout ladies was disappointing. I hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the need for improved customer service, ensuring a more consistent and pleasant experience for all guests.

EXCEPTIONAL STAFF!! Stayed here for two nights with my parents because my father had outpatient surgery scheduled at Tampa General. We arrived with apprehension and nervous energy about the procedure, and we left feeling like we had just spent the weekend staying with family - not something you usually feel after staying at a large hotel chain!! We were welcomed with warmth and treated with utmost care & attention from the time we arrived until we checked-out. The professionalism and attention of the staff was above & beyond any other hotel we have stayed at. Rooms, breakfast, etc were fabulous. Awesome location close to amazing restaurants. (The Columbia was delicious!) Special thank-you's to Tayvion, Miguel, and Micky from the bottom of our hearts, for being so kind and helpful - we truly appreciate you and thank you for your hospitality!

This hotel was amazing! I booked 3 rooms for the night before our family cruise. The service was wonderful and the hotel was so clean. They have a free shuttle service to take you to the cruise terminal and it is a short 5 minute drive. Really close to downtown Tampa too. We will definitely be using this hotel again in the future.

I cannot say enough great things about this Hampton Inn! We stayed here prior to our cruise out of Tampa. The hotel is clean and the staff is amazing. It is in a quiet area. I love that the trolley is right across the street so you can get to everywhere quickly and FREE! They also have a cruise shuttle for guests that is FREE. We will stay here before each cruise from now on.

A very nice, clean hotel. We had a suite and were very comfortable. Beds are spacious and comfy. The downside is that there is no free parking. you need to pay extra. For two cars its over $30.00.

Whoever is responsible for answering the phones here has a god awful attitude. They really should not be in any customer facing position with the manner in which they speak to people, they need to be retrained immediately. We were coming here for a night after a concert & they cancelled our reservation because an issue with the card on file, I’ve NEVER experienced this anywhere else, I got a new card after booking the reservation & instead of letting us rectify that at the hotel they cancelled. They apparently called at 8 am to warn me of this policy, however I HAVE A BABY, answering the phone is not always that simple. I wouldn’t have even been as upset had the lady not been extremely rude about giving me that information when all I did was ask what happened.

We stayed here for one night waiting to go to Tampa Port for a cruise. This hotel was clean, great service. The people were friendly and treated each other and their customers like family!! We flew into TPA, but this hotel did not have transport from the airport, so we took an Uber. They do have transport to the port. Miguel was our driver. He was wonderful. When we returned from our cruise, we had a few hours lay over before we could get on the plane, so he told us to call him when we got off the boat and he would come get us, and bring us back to the hotel so we had somewhere to hang out until our flight. He took us and dropped us off at the Oxford Exchange so we could eat. He took our luggage back to the hotel and stored it for us, he came back and picked us up from the restaurant, and even though he wasn't officially supposed to take us back to the airport, he did!! There was not a change, but we tipped him well!! He was so kind and generous to do that for us. We had a party of 9 people, so it would have been hard to get around without him. He had van-It's A Good Day To Have A Good Day!! Thanks so much for everything!!

A night and day difference between other nearby Hilton hotels. This property was very clean; from the rooms to the fitness center. The staff was friendly and approachable. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic. A wonderful stay, and now my go-to Hilton to stay at in Ybor.

Super nice place! We got two queens and it was a good size for me and my family. Everything was good and it’s right by the party! There’s tons of clubs and other places near by that are fun for younger folks. The breakfast was also very good and even had small to go boxes which was very much appreciated (the pictures show) great place nice workers :)

Was a wonderful stay. My wife is a germaphobe and never comfortable staying in a hotel but we both found our room clean and comfortable. Special shout-out to Tayvion at the front desk. He was very friendly, accommodating and an asset to the company.

The hotel itself was perfect for what I needed. My problem solely lies with the customer service of the front desk hired help by the name our Laurie. She had the nastiest disposition of anyone I've ever encountered that happens to work in the customer service industry. Everyone has bad days but I'd recommend she choose another profession that doesn't cater to assisting people.

  • 1/5 Matthew O. 5 months ago on Google
This review is mostly about the "breakfast". Of all the Hiltons I've had the pleasure of staying at, this by far was the worst breakfast I've ever attempted to eat. The only thing I can compare the eggs and sausage to is unflavored gelatin. There were no hard boiled eggs, or yogurt options like at most other locations ... The sausage patties were gray and looked like they were forgotten in the microwave .... The room and front desk staff were excellent. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which most of the other hotels have at least one of those empty ....

It was neat to be in a historic neighborhood (instead of downtown or in a suburb), but we didn't quite expect all of the nightlife in Ybor (we obviously didn't do our research). We liked being able to walk to get coffee/food, but made sure to stay on the main road. We appreciate the hotel letting us check-in early, as well as the friendly/helpful front desk staff.

Just wrapped up a 14 day stay here and it was great! The room was comfortable and spacious, internet worked well for me days working from the hotel room and the breakfast was great, it was nice they changed the options daily. Alicia (I may have gotten her name wrong) who worked the front desk the last few evenings I was there was a star. Really made me feel at home which says a lot when your thousands of miles away from your actual home! Will be back again in a few months for business and will be looking at staying here again!

I really enjoy my stay. To start, front desk were absolutely delightful and helpful. Room was clean, bed and pillows were comfy, breakfast was delicious and weirdly; I didn’t hear anything from room next door when you usually do in hotel rooms. Location is great, you can go walking distance to a few places and the trolley station is also close. Definitely will stay here again

  • 4/5 William E. 1 year ago on Google
Good place for nearby shops, bars and restaurants. Also a walk way to the Tampa Trolley Station. Although for big vehicles, it could be challenging for pick up/drop off scenarios in the upper level. It has a very tight drive through. It will take a very skilled motorist to navigate correctly without possibly hitting the columns. Although the hotel does presents height clearance, they need to indicate a one way path and warning signs.

Great hotel from a value stand point. Spacious and clean rooms albeit in a great location. Modern rooms and the complimentary breakfast was a bonus. I've had 2 great experiences with Hampton inn's so I'll be using them in the future

My favorite thing about this hotel is the staff! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly! The rooms are modern and up to date. Also the free breakfast options, gym and the pool. Nice Clean Modern stay in the heart of Ybor Excellent 3-night stay at this modern property. Check-in was easy, plenty of parking too. Our room was a spacious apartment-type room with a huge bed, kitchenette, and large shower room. Everything was spotless in the room and we had no issues whatsoever during our stay. The staff were professional and friendly whenever we dealt with them, the breakfast was OK, standard cereal, scrambled eggs, waffles, etc... Location wise, this place is right in the heart of Ybor so very close to most of the bars and restaurants nearby. We did stay on a Tuesday - Thursday though and found that a lot of the places were pretty quiet / closed most evenings. However, we were only a short uber away from the places we visited ( Armature works / Busch Gardens / Football / Baseball stadiums ) so the location for us was great. We really enjoyed Tampa as a city and would definitely return.

Great service, the suite was very nice. Only complaint is parking is very limited, several trucks/van parking across lines so several spots couldn't be used, and the EV charging spots had non-EV cars parked in them so I couldn't charge either. They need to monitor the parking and require license plates to be logged to enforce parking in their hotel!

When i got here the rep at front desk was on the phone with a customer trying to figure out a stay. It seems the customer was asking a lot. The rep informed him she'd have to place him on hold because her lobby was filling up. I appreciated that. Nice hotel with great service. Being in Ybor was cool you can ride free trolleys or walk to get food. Hotel parking is on the back side of the hotel and is $12 per day(that does fluctuate). I would stay again!

What an amazing perfectly clean hampton hotel ... the check in was quick with Michael! Such a great personality and vibe! Then Miguel was so ready to help with getting around town on the trolley .so kind . The room was spotless and the pool was small but really nice .... breakfast was great .. so many options ...I loved this hotel ..I will never stay anywhere else in Tampa ... so easy to get around .. parking was attached and convenient ... Micky was so great answering questions and so sweet ... cannot say enough about this hotel! Didn't want to leave! Kudos!! Hilton/ hampton didn't disappoint!!!

We were going to a concert at the Mid Florida Amphitheater and we weren’t sure where to stay. This hotel was about 17 minutes from the event which was really easy to get to. What I really liked is that it was in walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a safe location. You parked your car in a garage for a few which was safe. The staff was very pleasant and you had a complimentary hot breakfast! We didn’t use the outside pool, but it looked nice from what we could see. We would stay here again if we came back to the area!

Perfect location to Ybor City. Super clean/updated. Saff was excellent and even left us a little welcome bag in our room with some water and M &Ms and a few things. Comfortable beds and pillows. The shower has some nice shampoo/conditioner and body wash dispenser on wall. EXCELLENT breakfast and AL the cook was at your service making sure you had everything you needed. Only downside was an additional $18 parking but they said that was standard everywhere. We only stayed 1 night before a cruise and I'm glad we did.

First off let me start by saying the staff is absolutely horrible here . They all have attitude and act stuck up especially the one dude at the front during check in he has the worst attitude ever . When I got to the room the closet door was broken and the bathroom door doesn’t lock and the bed had stains on it . While this is a great location I wouldn’t recommend staying here. the breakfast was great and that’s about it . From the time I arrived till the time I checked out, and I was there for a whole week!! . Oh yeah they even had issues with giving anther person access to my room while I was staying there . (Remind you I had kids & they were totally freaked out ) when I confronted them about the situation the dude at the front desk threatened to call the police on me saying I haven’t been there and etc … They stated that I was supposed to be checked out when In fact I wasn’t.. my kids , my wife & I was just so confused !!! It was so bad they came up to our room to try to escort us out after we paid to be there .. the whole experience was just horrible and unpleasant. I don’t recommend this place do y’all research before staying here .

This is my second time staying here. Hotel and breakfast were good. Every employee we met was so nice and helpful. One man in particular stood out and made our stay even better. Tayvion (who we called Dallas because he’s s huge Cowboys fan)was outstanding! We looked forward to seeing him at the front desk. Thank you Dallas!

The first room the A/C was locked and could not turn it down they were rude when we called front desk. A man came up later said there was nothing they could do, finally they switched us rooms. The breakfast was not good. They charge extra for parking , Also we noticed another $80 charge few days after we left. When I called they said it was for linen damage could have been a stain couldn't give a straight answer to what it was said to call back in a few days speak to housekeeping, he was rude and said the charges stand and it is what it is.
