It has been forever since I’ve been to Brocato’s. Brocato’s has a deep legacy in Tampa that my family and I have always loved. However, without the pressed sandwiches and any cooking ongoing (besides the stuffed potatoes & devil crab)….this is just a stop and go sandwich shop now. I completely understand needing to down-size company tasks to match busy clientele, but it just doesn’t feel or taste the same. The pictures and decorations surrounding the inside of the restaurant is a nice reminder of their history in the community and it’s really fun to look at if you ever pay them a visit. Despite everything, one thing for certain is that their friendly customer service remains present.

Add me to the growing number of people that have been eating here for so many years but walked away disappointed on my most recent trip. Cuban bread seemed different than before wasn't that good chewy cuban bread I'm used to but took a bite and immediately was thrown off by the sweet bread and butter pickle and Dijon mustard that hit my taste buds. I've never until today had sweet bread and butter pickles and Dijon mustard on my cuban. Generally it's a regular mustard and mayo mix. It really throw the whole sandwich off. The stuffed potatoes and deviled crab weren't as good as they used to be and were smaller. Mind you they are still decent but just not what they were. The potato in the stuffed potato was more runny than it used to be and the crab int he deviled crab didn't have the flavor it use to and something that is in it made it have a bit more slimy of a feel. Leaving this review really bums me out because this is a long time family stop for me and it pains me to have complaints!

Ordered an Italian sandwich here. It is only 12 in but do not let that fool you. I am a grown man and can usually eat a whole sub. I could only eat half of it. It had so much meat on the sandwich and the bread was huge too. Only rating this place a 4/5 due to the bread. It was either Cuban bread or similar to it. Put it on a crusty hoagie roll and they would be unstoppable. 12 in sub with chips and a drink was $15. Other food on the menu looked good too. Decent place for lunch if in the area.

So yummy! Deviled Crab is uniquely a Tampa tradition and Brocato’s NAILS it every time. Good food but a bit pricey.

This is the thing, this is a Tampa institution. They make THE BEST sandwiches! The majority of patrons do take out! But if you’re looking for somewhere cute to dine in, this is not your spot! This place is more for the food, not the ambiance!

The BEST deviled crab in Tampa, hands down! The stuffed potato was okay, but my goodness, that deviled crab was huge and stuffed with meat. Everytime I'm in Tampa I'll make sure I go to visit for the deviled crab. I'm not really a fan of their sandwiches because they don't press them or toast them, but I respect the reason why they don't do it. Definitely worth giving them a try!

Best deviled crabs I have ever had! Highly recommend! This is a must if you live close to Tampa or visiting the surrounding area. They have been around since 1948. I was born in Tampa and still reside in the area so trust me when I tell you they have the best deviled crab

First time visiting, very friendly staff. They keep the menu very simple. Was sad to learn they stopped pressing the Cuban sandwiches. But still good non-the-less. The potato wedges were so good they didn't make it home!!

Never disappointed. Only downside is that they no longer offer yellow rice. The devil crabs are still an option along with the Cuban sandwiches. First time trying the French fries, and they were so good (and they give you enough for at least three people).

The same was delicious & huge! I ordered the 15in & could only eat half. I found this place through Groupon but I will definitely be coming back! I was also gifted another sandwich which I paid it forward & gifted to two homeless men. So it was a win-win for everyone! 🤍 I forgot to grab my desert though. Hopefully I could come back to get it another day.

From what I'm told this is a must hit local spot. So as I was passing through I stopped for lunch. This establishment is small inside and has additional seating outside and a medium to large parking lot beside it for additional parking. Apparently you cannot just buy a sandwich, you pay for and get chips and a drink. (What I was told when just trying to buy a sandwich). That being said I ordered a Cuban sandwich, it was picture perfect, portioned neatly, clean, and almost felt like I was getting a premade hospital sandwich. With a local "mom and pop" place I was kinda expecting something exploding at the seams with meat and toppings and bursting with flavor that left a mess. Or maybe even just required a napkin. The homemade devil crabs and the stuffed potatoes did not disappoint. If I ever get the chance to go back these items would be the only items I would order. This is the "mom and pop" item I was looking for. Crispy outside and full of flavor. This place also seemed like it would or could have a good atmosphere, but it was not busy at all and just seemed lonely for all the hype it received.

I have been coming here since I was a small kid. It was always great food and great service. I have been there twice in the last week . The first time I was told they no longer press Cuban sandwiches. I wasn't happy about that. So today when I went in I asked if they still have the roasted pork sandwich. I was told yes. So I asked do you press the pork sandwich? The lady responded yes we do. I said oh so the pork sandwich is pressed. She again said yes. Then when I got my sandwich it was not pressed. I asked the same lady why isn't it pressed? She stated the meat is warm. No! I didn't ask if the meat is warm I specifically asked if the sandwich was pressed! She walked away as if she didn't hear me. If customers are spending $50 or more per visit I would think they would get what they ask for. Not pressing certain sandwiches is ridiculous. They have always pressed sandwiches since I was a kid and now No! You shouldn't tell customers you do something if you don't! I wouldn't have bought that sandwich if I had been told the truth!

Basically, you can say the sandwich has no pork, lettuce, weird mustard and two sad pickles. Not very Cuban. The deviled crab does not taste like crab at all has too much seasoning and peppers, nothing like before. Disappointed.

Every time I am in Florida, this is an absolute must place to eat. I’ve had crab cakes in countless places, but none come even close to this one. The exterior breading is tasty and not greasy, while the amount and taste of the crab inside is phenomenal! They also have Cuban sandwiches and a variety of other delicious foods.

Excellent food ! Cuban sandwich was amazing the taste and the fresh ingredients it was perfectly made. The devil crab was huge didn’t expect that and it was so well seasoned! With a little bit of touch of spicy it was perfect. And the service was so friendly, the atmosphere inside and outside felt like home.

"If you're seeking a culinary adventure that tantalizes your taste buds and leaves you craving more, then Brocato's Sandwich Shop is your haven. From their devil crab balls that burst with flavor to their Cuban sandwiches that transport you to the heart of Havana, every dish is a masterpiece crafted with passion and expertise. My culinary journey began with the devil crab ball, a symphony of flavors that danced across my palate. The crab filling, infused with a hint of spice, was encased in a golden-fried shell that provided the perfect textural contrast. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, leaving me wanting more. Next, I ventured into the realm of Cuban sandwiches, a culinary emblem of the Caribbean. The perfectly toasted bread cradled layers of savory pork, tangy pickles, and Swiss cheese, all harmoniously blended with a touch of mustard. The flavors melded seamlessly, creating a symphony of taste that transported me to the bustling streets of Havana. Finally, I indulged in the roast pork, a testament to the chef's mastery of slow-cooked meats. The pork was fork-tender, infused with the rich flavors of herbs and spices, and accompanied by a tangy sauce that perfectly complemented its savory goodness. Each bite was a culinary delight, leaving me savoring the lingering flavors long after the meal was over. Brocato's Sandwich Shop is more than just a sandwich shop; it's an orchestra of flavors that harmoniously blend to create a culinary symphony. From the devil crab balls that ignite your taste buds to the roast pork that melts in your mouth, every dish is a testament to the chef's passion and expertise. If you're seeking a culinary adventure that will leave you craving more, Brocato's Sandwich Shop is your haven. Prepare to embark on a journey of unparalleled flavor and culinary delight

Brocato's Sandwich Shop is the best place to get gigantic deviled crabs stuffed with so much crab meat. So tasty and worth the money we paid. The best deviled crabs I ever tried. Highly recommended the deviled crabs and cuban sandwich. We definitely will be back there for sandwich and deviled crabs. Staff are very friendly and nice. You should visit this place if you live nearby or when you visit the surrounding area.

The size of the Cuban and potatoe balls is INSANE!!! For $25 dollars me and my wife have almost a half a sandwich and 1 potatoe ball left and are miserable!!! It is a must eat!! Staff super friendly and makes everyone feel like family!

Gave you that good ol family feelin. And amazing portions. As it was my first trip I was skeptical after viewing the prices. However once my order was prepared the portion sizes made it abundantly clear that you Definitely get what you pay for! Nice mom n pop style joint, good vibes and even better food!

I got the 1 special which is a Cuban 6’ and devil crab. Definitely get your moneys worth. I thought the food was filling and delicious. I went on a Friday during lunch, took about 7 min to get my food. I thought the atmosphere was also cool to see all the retro signs and awards they won! Definitely a go to place!!

Went for takeout after going to TGH. Have been once before & was craving a deviled crab from there. Got a extra deviled crab for tomorrow, fries and my daughter got a Cuban. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. She will have half of a Cuban and I my crab. Will definitely be back.

This place catered the last supper for Jesus and his crew. It has been around since the beginning of time. Every time I go here, the place is packed! The food is excellent and the portions are gargantuan! If you want a sandwich to feed a family of eight, then you need to eat here! The only bad part is if you go for lunch there's no place to park. Better bring the helicopter.

Inexpensive and the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Deviled crabs are incredible too. Every time I’m in the area I try to stop here for lunch.

First visit to this local long-time favorite. We were lucky to arrive at a slower time. The food is the hi-light. Of course, I tried the classic Cuban, their specialty. The sandwich comes in leftovers size. There was no way I was going to eat that entire thing for lunch. The quality is very good, the atmosphere was very old school with a spartan dining experience. Chairs and tables in the wait area seem like an afterthought. Most of the real estate in the restaurant is devoted to the kitchen. They’ve been doing what they do for many years, evidenced by the multiple newspaper and magazine clippings hanging on the walls. If I’m in the area, I’ll definitely visit again.

The Cuban combo sandwich plus deviled crab was VERY filling - I would NOT get the full size sandwich unless you are saving half for later or sharing it with someone else. Also ordering ahead seemed very advantageous so you don't have to wait if you walk in and order. I personally prefer a more traditional pressed Cuban sandwich but this was tasty.

It's 01/27/24 after calling the company to ask did they have stuffed potatoes and deviled crabs I arrived and the old lady taking orders says we don't have any stuffed potatoes here attitude was horrible on top of that. After the service and waisting my gas to drive way to this location I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I'm very upset at this point.why would they say they had them then not have any?
