I read the reviews before I went so I was armed with horrible things to expect. You get what you pay for. When I got there at 5pm on Sunday, my room wasn't available (check in is at 3pm), I asked for a different room if possible and was upgraded to a beautiful room. The staff member checking me in was friendly, I wish I caught his name. I checked the room. No roaches. Yes, the city is loud and the windows leak noise. I asked for a microwave and they brought one - a win. There was blue tape down the hallway and it looked like they were trying to do work on the walls - they were - the next day they actively fixed those divots and painted the walls. Monday check in was a nightmare for others, but didn't affect me. We stayed for three nights, Sun-Wed. Our room was never cleaned. I asked on Tuesday for them to clean it, someone came and took the trash out that was it. I asked for assistance the morning of check out and no manager was available until 1-2 hours later. By then, the line was ridiculous and I wasn't waiting to give feedback. I left a note to have the manager call me. They never did. So, I suppose they're getting it here. The valet line on checkout day was very long, which makes sense because everyone ended their exam and wanted to get out at the exact same time. The general manager was helping pull up cars - the long line moved relatively quickly. All in all, it wasn't horrible. I had a decent bed to sleep in, a working toilet and bath tub, a mini fridge and a microwave. Was it excellent? Nah. But I didn't pay for the JW Marriott and couldn't expect that. If they could just get their housekeeping staff to actually clean the rooms (and make them available for checking in guests!), I think they'd be pretty alright. Location was great right on the water. They're actively trying to improve. I hope it gets better.

This is the worst Marriott property I have ever visited. It is old, decrepit, and the staff is poorly trained and seemingly unmotivated to provide an acceptable guest experience. I am a lifetime Platinum member who has stayed at Marriott properties worldwide and this hotel easily ranked as the worst. Our initial room was musty with water stains and dripping water in the wall. This was evidently known by the staff as the AC was set at 50 to mask the smell. My daughter’s wedding was hosted at the hotel. On the day of the wedding, there was no hot water. During the reception, I received a call from the front desk asking if I was going to check out today. I left the reception to ask the front desk why I was being called. They apologized but after the wedding I discovered I was locked out of our room. I don’t understand how Marriott can continue to allow this broken down property with poor service to represent their brand.

The hotel is pretty good and the location is great. Very upsetting for me was their hiding various costs in pricing. You need to pay about $70.-/night extra for your stay ($40 for your car, $25 for pool and gym whether you used it or not and some small extras). If this would be clear in the booking phase that's fine but hiding considerable costs from clients is not ok.

The location of the hotel is very nice. We had a king, Riverview room and we enjoyed the view. However...the room is very outdated. The bathtub did not appear very clean, the walls were thin, and the carpeting was pretty gross. The furniture is old and worn, including the mattress. The sofa had stains on both sides of the cushion. The fire evacuation instructions on the back of the door showed the "you are here" for room 629. We were in 637. Minor detail but just indicative of the kind of place this is. Lastly, there is a $40 per night valet charge should you park there and a $25 amenity fee (per day). I used no amenities so not sure what that is about. It is not very clear when booking. I learned and I will not stay here again. Very disappointed!!

The manager needs to be fired, or take a serious pay cut. We booked the hotel for gasparilla weekend, was not given information on their change of plans limiting guests. When talking to the manager all she said was “I don’t care I’m getting paid”. Hopefully they find new management who can do the job correctly and professionally

Check-in experience was good very friendly and great information provided. The hotel is very clean just carpeting look worn-out. My wife and I spent the day out and returning to the room to find no cleaning service to the room. At the very least I'd expect garbage taken out. So very disappointing on the level of care and service provided

Room was satisfactory but far from polished. Repaired spots on walls not painted . No Soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Air conditioning worked fine. DO NOT get a room on the North Ashley Drive side of the hotel! It sounds like the Indy 500 all night. Unbelievably noisy. Room on the River side is probably great. Staff was excellent.

I really hate writing a negative review, but I also hate not getting my moneys worth of something. For what we paid a night of this hotel… we expected MUCH better. Our 1st room was INFESTED with roaches. The overnight supervisor was INCREDIBLY HELPFUL, & she moved us to a second room but that room still had roaches. We moved to a 3rd room and literally slept with the lights on because we were scared for it to get too dark in there. We were supposed to be staying 2 nights & checked out early. The location of this place is amazing but it needs MAJOR MAJOR renovations. Do not stay here until you want roaches crawling on your stuff.

The perfect location for all your excursions in Tampa. Great service with a friendly & helpful staff. The outdoor pool can be bigger but it served it's purpose. Nice bar @ the pool. My only complaint is that the room should be updated. It's a bit dated. Other than that I had a great time. Enjoy the pictures & your time.

I recently stayed at a hotel that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the friendly and attentive staff. They went out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The room itself was spacious and well-appointed, with all the amenities I could ask for, including a comfortable bed, a flat-screen TV, and a mini-fridge. The bathroom was also clean and modern, with plenty of fresh towels and toiletries. It was clear that the staff had put a lot of thought into making my stay as enjoyable as possible. The hotel also had a great location, with easy access to all the major attractions in the area. I was able to explore the city and its many sights. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The staff, amenities, and location all exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Beware of hidden fees with this place. 40 dollars per night just for valet, and you pretty much HAVE to valet to park at this location. The room was nasty. The bathroom had mold, hairs, dirt and grime all over the ground. The windows were heavily scratched like someone took a key to it or something. I attempted to bring it to the front desk's attention but it was like he did not hear me. He was very rude. The room keys do not actually work and I needed a maid cleaning the room across the hall to open the door. Room was supposed to be ready by 4 and it took over an hour for me to get to the room due to "cleaning." Particles were still in the carpet from the prior person. The bathroom was vile. The room was warmer than it should have been. Other people who were there had to wait way longer for their room and I could see the tension. People were filled to the brim in the lobby. The staff did not effectively communicate and lots of people were confused and aggravated in a long line. he bartender, two of the front desk workers and the man in the gift shop were absolutely wonderful though!!! The location was perfect for what I needed but I would not stay here on a regular vacation. I was taking the bar exam. This hotel should pay more attention to the number of reservations they have...no excuse for their blatant lack of preparation.

If you are looking for a Motel-6 experience at a Hilton price, this is the place for you. Checked in after a long day of travel wanting to get some sleep. The room (619?) didn't have any bedding for the pull out couch, so went to call the front desk and ask for some. However, the phone in the room didn't work. Went down to the front desk and requested bedding. Returned to room to discover AC didn't work. Another trip to the front desk. After an hour a maintenance guy showed up and said he found a tripped circuit breaker which he reset. A/C seemed to be putting out cooler air. After a two hour wait returned to the front desk to again request bedding, which was finally delivered. Following day A/C was not working again, but water was dripping out of the unit (in the ceiling) and the carpet was soaked. Complained again to the font desk and was moved to a different room. A/C there was marginal, but at least helped. Shower head cover in this room (441) was all rusty. However, it took two more trips to the front desk and 2 hours of waiting to get bedding for the couch again. Received text during my stay wanting to know how things were, and received back a canned message, just as many of the posts here receive. Does no one actually read them? My wife and I both said that while there are a few great people here, the overall service is sub-par and the hotel needs lots of work. There is a reason the Hilton site has a banner that says this is an independent hotel. Again, if you want to pay $300 plus for a Motel-6 experience, go for it, but I will never be back.

Great location and friendly front desk personnel…. BUT that doesn’t offset the AC issues! I see from many reviews on here that this is an issue with this hotel … not the fact it’s not in Tampa. I live in the Southeast US. I understand heat and humidity. The hotel has an issue with AC not cooling as it should in the rooms. The room thermostat says 65. It’s 72, at best. I do like my room cold. I keep my house at 70 and like it 68 when I sleep. So, here I am, at 1:00 am …. Not able to sleep. It’s so uncomfortable warm and zero air flow. It’s just stuffy. Awful.

I was really disappointed with this hotel. Let me preface the rest of this review by stating the front desk staff were fantastic - attentive, friendly, and quick to bring items that were missing from the room. I loved the location in downtown, but as soon as we walked inside the front doors we were smacked by a smell that was terrible. It wasn't the river, I don't know what it was. The lobby, elevator, hallways, all stunk. It made the stay unpleasant. Step out onto the balcony and it was better. There were many spots in the room where the paint was bubbling. For a large king size room there was only a sad little tv. I cannot recommend this hotel and will try something different the next trip to Tampa.

I originally booked my trip to Florida with the Floridan hotel. They closed for renovations a day before our flight which really stressed me out. The Floridan transferred my hotel stay from them to the Hotel Tampa Riverwalk thankfully. We couldn't have had a better place to go to. The Hotel Tampa Riverwalk gave us a room with a balcony on the riverside. We couldn't have had a more wonderful experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing. The staff from the front desk, to the restaurant, to the pool bar, to the valet were ALL friendly and personable. We felt very safe downtown even late at night. You have a beautiful city. When we come back to Tampa we will just book with the Hotel Tampa Riverwalk. When you find a gem you stick with it. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Really a great weekend here. Walking distance to a lot of great areas and the boardwalk of course. There is an awesome 90s bar across the street, and the front desk is super nice and knowledgeable. The room was super clean. Some wear and tear in the bathroom but that happens. I'm not sure if we had an old mattress but it was way too soft. Some people might really enjoy that though so just a personal preference. I would definitely stay again! Dog friendly as well!

We stayed for NYE. Excellent location. Staff is friendly but overwhelmed. The front desk, wait staff and valet were all very nice. The room was a little outdated but everything was in working order and was clean. The shower wasn’t that great and hot water was minimal at best. No hot tub, so that was kind of a bummer. But we enjoyed our stay and will be back. The location is excellent and the view from our balcony on the river was exceptional. We got to see all the fireworks right from our room

By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I don’t like to leave negative reviews ever but can’t stay silent regarding our poor stay. We booked 3 rooms for 2 nights. I was aware by reading other reviews that the hotel is in need of a major remodel so I prepped myself for that. The WiFi was extremely spotty anywhere except the lobby. One of our rooms was a deluxe king river view. The view was nice. The room had a pull out sofa that my daughter slept on. No bedding was in the room. I called upon getting home from Busch Gardens that night and was told by the front desk they’d reach out to housekeeping and send something up. 40 min later I call back down and a new staff member is working the desk and I was told no one in housekeeping was there and he did not have bedding. To his credit he did look and found some sheets but came with no blanket or pillows. He was working alone (or at least he said he was) so I acknowledge his effort. He was able to find an old blanket which he brought to our Roman - at this point it was midnight so we were happy to take whatever we could get. The following day we woke for breakfast with the family. As a platinum member we always get free breakfast; however, when we woke we found the hotel restaurant was closed due to a “maintenance issue”. We asked if there was at least coffee in the concierge room and were told no but that there was a Starbucks across the street in the Hilton. I was floored that they didn’t even have coffee. Post a coffee and food run for the group we get back and find that they did stock the concierge room with coffee after all… at this point it’s frustrating but still not at the point that would drive me to write this review… Day 2 my 79 MIL is woken up in her hotel room by the smoke alarm going off in the morning. She called the front desk and no one came to help. We were able to stand on a chair and press the reset button after waiting for help that never came. On the positive the restaurant was open so we at least were able to enjoy our free (or so I thought) breakfast as a family before we headed our separate directions. The service was good. I appreciated our server Michelle. We left our vouchers on the table along with tip and went upstairs to pack. And there’s more… once packed my husband went to retrieve or rental car from the valet only to be told they could not find the keys?!?! At this point we are literally just laughing at the experience. 30min later they found them and the valet staff that morning were running hard and helpful so we tried not to take our frustration out on them and even gave the guy a tip. Finally, I’m back home in Charlotte and I check my folio that was sent to me to discover 2 of the rooms have $35 charges on them for the restaurant. No clue where these charges came from except that they weren’t on my bill this morning when I reviewed. I called the hotel to question and the gentleman at the front desk said he would handle for me but would need to call me back in 10 minutes. Shockingly, he has not called back. Between no breakfast day 1, no bedding, fire alarm issues, lost keys, and $70 in food charges that should not have been on my bill, I can definitively say that I do not recommend this hotel to anyone! I’m hopeful that I can at minimum update this review and add that their customer service in resolving the multiple issues was great but I’m still waiting on my call back…

I have had a horrible experience and do not recommend staying at this hotel! Traveled with 2 adult males, reserved a room with 2 beds, they gave our room away! After driving all day they stuck us in a small room with 1 bed! TV did not work! First floor right over the city street loudest most disrupting room possible! Old out dated furniture! Pillows sink right down to the bed no support. No counter space for my items in the bathroom! Overall dirty and ghetto! The riverside rooms are much nicer and a better experience.

The two stars provided were earned strictly by the staff. The check in process was easy and everyone was polite from the valet to the front desk staff. The facility itself gets no stars. I’m pretty sure the cost of the stay is due to the location. On top of the high cost room, there is no onsite parking which made 1 night over 200.00. When I entered the room it felt and smelled like moisture was there. The bathroom was not restocked with body wash or hair conditioner, there was a hair on the shower wall, and most of the towels and wash clothes were not up to standard so I did not use them. I was awakened by loud cars early in the morning. Lastly, on my morning of check out, there were 2 roaches under the bathroom sink. I won’t be staying here again because the price and quality of the facility don’t match.

This hotel was run down, and should be closed for renovations. Not clean, filthy bathroom and nobody came to clean after being gone for 8 hours. The hotel smelled musty throughout. Jose who worked the front desk was a great guy and did his best to be accommodating, however there is just so much he could do. We ended up leaving on the 2nd night and going to Aloft next door. I would not recommend to anyone who is looking for a hotel in Tampa!

The only reason this hotel is getting any stars is because the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The room was less than average.. the photos online make it look great but you’re getting hotel CATFISHED. The room AC broken, everything felt “moist” like the bedding, the floor.. the towels. I don’t think it was ever dusted and I was not the only one downstairs complaining of the air conditioner. The beds are spring mattress, the water is so hot you can get a 3rd degree burn and it comes out extremely hard & not the “oh this is great water pressure” hard more like painful experience. The valet is $40 per night and the “amenity” fee is $30.. for 2 bottles of average water. I would not recommend. Needs a complete interior renovation. They refunded me about $100 for the inconvenience but honestly, didn’t feel like enough..

NEVER AGAIN IN THIS HOTEL. The rep I spoke with over the phone before making the booking told me the pool was heated. LIED. The pool is really cold. The towels needed to be changed. They smelled really bad. We were entering the bath and the smell would just slap our faces. The new towels provided do not smell. It seems the towels were not replaced or were stored in a very humid place. The toilet cover needs to be held to be able to pee while standing. The shower plate is completely loose. Just a 3$ tube of a silicone from Home Depot would have fixed it. The room is spacious and it is right next to the riverwalk. The hot faucet is very rusty, very difficult to open. Check the photos so you can see how little cleaning or maintenance they provide to this place. They play very loud music by the pool. You can barely stay there. It is by far my worst hotel experience ever.

I booked this hotel for a work trip because we get a corporate discount. I deeply regret not doing more research prior to booking. The quality of accommodations is that of a roadside motel. I will be checking out early on my own dime, because I do not feel comfortable sleeping or showering here given the state of the room. It is old, uncared for, and falling apart. The shower and tub look like they should have been replaced about 20 years ago. The walls and vents are covered in dust. There are several holes in the walls that have been haphazardly spackled and painted over. It’s not possible to turn off the very bright light in the balcony. Not good.

This is my 3rd year as diamond member with Hilton. I recommend avoiding this location. I booked a room with 2 beds and they changed it to a single bed without mentioning it. Then double booked that room and a man walked in on my daughter getting dressed! At checkout they charged me for parking even though the entire garage was closed for the pirate festival. Sorry doesn’t cut it.

Location was great. Beautiful view and lots of places to walk to for food. Rooms were dirty. Half used hygiene products and dirty towels at the start. The coffee was gross in our room that we made using their coffee maker. Our room key didn’t work twice which needed to be fixed. AC worked great. Parking $40 overnight which can add up quickly. We ended up parking near by for $12 all day. There’s a lot of taxes but I guess that’s normal since we’re from out of state! Camille helped break down the fees and answered all invoice questions, she was great.

The hotel is nice. The location is great! The down side is all the extra fees! They charge for everything. There is no parking only valet, which is $40 per night. Resort fee is $25 per night. They advertise a really good nightly rate then once you get there, it's nearly double! I like to know all costs upfront. I won't be staying again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable the only downside were the location was downtown and for some reason people like to Rev up their engines and speed down the street after hrs and the rooms don't get cold enough. The staff was very helpful trying to cool the rooms and did make adjustments to the bill for the discomfort. It's not really on the hotel because I like to sleep with the temperature 65 or below and the room couldn't get below 68.

Front desk workers are awful!!! We requested towels & they wouldn’t bring it to us. We went to the front desk & politely requested towels & the guy at the front desk with the gauges in his ears was so annoyed that we needed towels. He would only give us 2 even though there were 4 of us in our room. When we asked for 2 more towels he was annoyed to give them to us, but complied. Rooms are dirty, there are actual hairs hanging off of the ceiling in the bathroom. The AC in the room is sooooo loud it vibrates the entire room and sounds like there’s a car revving its engine in the room. The bartender was extremely annoyed when we ordered a frozen drink, very lazy & didn’t want to be bothered. The hallways smell like dog pee. Only good thing is the location. Stay far away.

Zero stars for the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The staff was slow and unhelpful. The hotel was under construction. The pool was closed for maintenance, and parking is extortionate. They gave drink vouchers that last 24 hours for a bar that was never even open during our stay. The worst part is that they mischarged my credit card multiple times for charges I never made. We were at this hotel for less than 24 hours and I have multiple charges to my credit card that they are claiming are food and drinks when I never spent a penny on any of it. Not only that, they post your “incidental” charge of $75 and you won’t see the money back for over ten days even if you never used any of it. Im still waiting for it back and they are rude over the phone when calling with issues that their own hotel made. I would never ever stay here again. I live in FL and was in town for a concert but I will make sure all my local family and friends never make the mistake of staying here either.

The only thing good about this hotel is the location. Front desk personnel made a rude response when I was questioning all the additional fees they surprise you with , valet fee, amenity fees, etc . He said “ you should’ve read our website” and rolled his eyes . The rooms look better on line and the place is not the cleanest. It could use some TLC . Beware of all the hidden charges before you book!

I' m not one to wrote reviews but i cant help myself on this one. This place was horrible we waited 6 hours for our room to be ready after check in. Finally got the room at 10pm and the floors were gross , the tub was absolutely disgusting and wouldn't drain, the TV remote didn't work, the pool was closed all day and the list goes on and if you complain or ask for better service you get an attitude and told they have nothing else for you. For as expensive this place is and all the "fees" that come with it you would think they could have it a little better taken care of. Won't be back .

We arrived early & tried to check in but we were told our room was not quite ready yet. Staff took our phone number down & told us that we would be contacted when our room was ready. We decided to grab a bite to eat while we waited & wanted to order a drink. We were informed from our wait staff that the bar was not open (on a Saturday at 1pm). We ordered fish tacos that had obviously been pre frozen despite being told that they were fresh. Our French fries were also like warm & soggy. We never received a call or text from anyone at the hotel letting us know our room was ready. Around 430pm, I called & asked if our room was ready & was told that it had been ready for some time. We did not arrive to our room until later in the evening due to plans, however, when we did arrive, the room had a damp smell to it, the bathtub was very dingy & did not appear to be very clean. The bed was very squeaky & uncomfortable & we had ZERO towels. I called the front desk & asked if they had any towels, they told us they were all out of bath towels but they had pool towels. We went down to the front desk to pick up the pool towels & they were very old, thin, & of poor quality. The next morning after we had checked out, I got a notification that I had been charged twice for our valet parking. I have tried to resolve this issue but have not been able to get in contact with someone who can fix the double charge for me as of yet. Much of this could have been overlooked if we hadn’t been charged $600 for a single night. Our overall experience was that of a cheap motel stay.

Rooms wouldn’t get any cooler than 74 degrees. Changed rooms three times, for the same reason, had to sleep without the covers, uncomfortably in hopes to not break a sweat in My sleep. Staff was nice and helpful, hotel location was great but the hotel is definitely in need of a huge renovation.

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, this just might be the worst Marriott hotel that I’ve ever stayed at. You get sold on the view and while it’s great, the hotel is itself is not. The hotel smells really really bad. It’s so gross that I just wanted to puke the whole time. The lobby is decent but the hallways to the rooms are dark and dirty. The hotel is extremely outdated, everything in the rooms is old. The bed feels like you’re sleeping on springs, walls are dirty, patch jobs from repair jobs on the walls are incomplete, doors look beat up, it’s just bad all around The room I was given, nothing worked except for the bathroom light. No other lights or outlets worked in the room. They did get me another room, but they did not offer to compensate me with points or anything else for the inconvenience. All other Marriott’s would have without me even asking. A friend of mine got stuck in his room as the door wouldn’t open when he was trying to leave. They had to send someone up who ended up kicking the door open. Seriously, stay away from this place as it really is disgusting.

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your room. This website will compare hundreds of booking web sites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't be let down. My company had a couple of sales events during the day in their ballroom by the lobby. The man in charge of helping us named Daryl from banquets/catering did a phenomenal job. Extremely accommodating, even though we are a very needy group, and he was so helpful and attended to every detail and request of ours. He is definitely an employee worth keeping and probably needs a raise! Our company has multiple sales events at a different hotel every day of the week, so we know excellent service when we see it and it very much helps to make our events run smoothly. Thanks Daryl!

Great location. Rooms were in decent shape, pretty standard nothing fancy. No vending machines in vending machine spots. Walked around for 20 minutes looking for water in vending machines. Not one on the first 5 floors. Finally got one from front desk at 3am. Check in was weird too. The Marriott card and reservation were under my name but they only addressed my wife the entire check in even though I was answering questions. Nothing terrible just odd.

Marriott should ashamed. This Sheraton is a disaster. I work in hospitality and I would be fired if I allowed my guest suites to fall into the state they are in with scuffed walls, rusty and scatched luggage racks, and door knobs replaced look horrible. The restaurant was out of steaks and our server, Hillary cautioned us against the grouper. She was terrific and brought us a list of other area dining options. In fact all of the staff were very customer forward. Many of the pool lounge chairs were torn up. The pool itself was cloudy. I made my dissatisfaction known with the hotel at the local level and received a partial refund, though I did not ask for it. I am happy to pay for the quality of amenities and service I typically enjoy as a Bonvoy member, but not for this experience. The front desk indicated that the hotel is due for renovations. They should have used the time during the pandemic to take care of it then.

Horrible experience! WiFi didn’t work, called the front desk and they told me they were resetting it and it would be up in a few minutes but it never came up even after calling several times! The AC in my room didn’t work and luckily it was cool enough to open the balcony door to cool the room off but didn’t sleep well due to the outside noise. Called the front desk and was just told “sorry to hear that ma’am”. No help at all. Went to take a shower and the whole faucet almost Came off the wall. The room doors slam very hard and all I heard all. Night long was slamming doors and again very early in the morning. The Bed was extremely uncomfortable, room too dim they need to add a lamp or something. Not as clean as I would expect, actually am probably glad it was dim in the room because what I could see wasn’t great. Not what I expect for an over $300 a night room!!! When I checked out and voiced my concerns I was again basically blown off like they could care less. This is the 2nd horrible experience I’ve had here won’t stay here again! As a Hilton Honors member I definitely expect better!!!

Our favorite in downtown Tampa. This is our got to. You can't beat the value/price here. Always a great stay, definitely recommend! Balcony on the riverside is always fun to people watch and to access the riverwalk or watch the sunset over the city. Can't wait to return for Lightning hockey!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! After I checked in, I had to change 3 different rooms. First room they gave me was not cleaned for a new guest. Everything was everywhere. The sheets and blankets were thrown on the floor as well as other trash. So I went to the front desk and asked for a new room. The second room I got, the lock was broken. I could not lock my room from the inside and weirdly, the door would open from the outside without any key. So I went to the front desk again and asked for another room since I did not feel safe at all. They gave me another room. The third rooms door did not lock from the inside either and I have found a used toothbrush on the floor. But I was already very tired of changing my room for 2 times and I did not ask for a new one. Had to stay in that room with only using the upper lock for 3 nights. Overall I can say that I never had such bad experience in any hotels my entire life. Definitely was not worth spending that much money. The girl at the front desk was very helpful but other than that the hotels situation is not good at all. Do not even waste your money!

Our experience with this hotel was horrible. We requested a room with a roll-in shower. What we received was the worst hotel room we've ever seen. Dark, dingy, bare bones construction and very very dirty. There was mold, mildew and insect remains in the bathroom, so much so that we could not stay is this room. When we requested a room change we were informed that there was a note in our reservation saying we could not change the room, with no explanation. The night manager was both unwilling and unable to help us. We ended up checking out and leaving the hotel. I would not recommend this hotal to anyone.

We reserved a River view balcony double room . The bathroom was so disgusting that it wouldn’t pass a health department inspection. The water in the tub and sink wouldn’t drain. There was black mold growing around the sink, the tub was stained practically black. The paint was peeling off the bathroom walls. The vents were filthy. The carpets were worn and dirty .when I complained to the manager and insisted to be moved to a different room they were only able to offer us a City view without a balcony. The second room wasn’t much better. The safe was broken and couldn’t be fixed. In addition, the gate from The river walk to the pool was not secured which allowed nonpaying people to just walk in and jump in the pool. In addition there was a homeless man sleeping on a lounge poolside, clearly inebriated, and passed out. I intend to voice my outrage with Hilton Corp. Shame on them. We were attending a wedding (not at the hotel)and other guests were complaining about the poor condition of this hotel. STAY AWAY

I booked this hotel through the association that was holding a conference at the convention center because they had discounted rates and this hotel had the cheapest rates, and only afterwards did I read all these bad reviews, so I was a bit afraid to stay here, but it turned out to be a nice place! Maybe even more because I expected the worst. The room was clean and very cool, ac worked well (too well, I turned the heat on so I could sleep at night but it was still too cold for me to sleep in shorts). The tub and its walls were a little dirty but I wasn’t planning on taking a bath so that’s fine. The toiletries are little individual bottles and not large communal pump bottles that hotels have started offering recently. Other than it being too cold at night I enjoyed the room. The location is excellent. Only 10-11 mins to the convention center. The streetcar gets very close too if you are exploring. The balcony is kinda useless when you’re facing the street and only on the second floor. It is quiet. I’m from Newark, NJ so anywhere is quiet to me. Overall, better than expected!

This 100% should not be in the Hilton program. We were moved here as our original hotel cancelled. We were booked at another Hilton, A tapestry but were moved here due to their incompetence. Our room was 512. The beds are full size so incredibly small. (We reserved king) It was originally a 3 night stay, we left after 1 night. We never would have stayed, if we had arrived earlier in the day, but we checked in at 9 PM on thanksgiving. This hotel was probably great in the 60s and 70s, but it’s very run down. There needs to be a lot of money poured into this hotel 1st before Hilton should have allowed it. The rooms have a stank to them, there’s ceiling damage, wall damages and the pillows belong in the garbage. They felt like they were past their Walmart prime. The front desk staff was cool though. They were helpful, funny and very prompt. This hotel does charge the unnecessary $25 a day destination fee that provides benefits hotels used to provide, and is a way for them to pay less taxes while increasing revenue. We did have breakfast here, but the wait staff was incredibly inefficient and slow. The food wasn’t good either. I ordered a dish, but the menu never mentioned the Cubano came with pickles. It mentioned every single other ingredient except this. It came with pickles. Sandwich was ruined. While this isn’t their fault, it is the Hotel Flor, tapestry hotels fault, I am still trying to get my Diamond breakfast benefit. The Hilton desk can not reach their front desk as they do not pick up their phones often. We would in the future consider staying here again, provided that fee be removed, and it was up to Hilton Standard. It has an incredibly long way to go.

This hotel was clean and well-managed. The valet staff are excellent and friendly. Excellent location. I had a room with a balcony overlooking the river walk and that was great. This is an older hotel so the rooms aren't dazzling but they have everything you need and are clean. We didn't go to any of the restaurants/bars but the lobby area looks nice. Overall a good choice.

The rooms are spacious and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The view from our room was breathtaking! This hotel is not the same caliber that we normally expect from a Hilton. Our room wasn't very clean, AC leaking water from the ceiling, and the beds are far from comfortable... We ended up switching to another Hilton down the road. Far better experience.

I'm being overly fair with 3 stars. For the name sake and location, this is at most 2 stars. Staff was fine. No issues on my visit with staff, but they did seem stressed. Rooms not ready on our arrival (6:30PM) Rooms requested not given (riverside vs street) BTW Street side is NOISY!!! Do not recommend staying on that side. Rooms are dated, but that is not an issue, the issue is the bath linens are old and dirty, showing age, and 2 I had were so stained I wouldn't use them. Bath room had tiny black ants on arrival and during the stay. Would I stay again... no. There has to be other hotels living up to their brand image. This one needs a reboot and refresh to get there.

I gave this hotel five star is because the front desk was super helpful. Write a check in. It was a busy night. It was New Year’s Eve and Kasey was amazing helping us get checked in quickly she gave us terrific information and was able to help us with all our needs. They even were able to loan me an umbrella because it was raining. The only thing I would say is the valet is kind of slow and in our room, the TV wasn’t working at all but other than that the rooms are clean and big and have great balconies and recommend without hesitation good value for the price.

Nice location, clean room, friendly staff. Had to make a couple repeat requests to the front desk for toiletries but they eventually came. Riverwalk is great. They need to fix the back gate - gate was mostly open but was locked when I had to walk back in the rain at night and it didn't recognize my room key. I had to double back to the front to get in. Bed was comfortable.

First time staying downtown Tampa and this was a great location close to Curtis Hixon Park and the Convention center. Right on the river so you can enjoy a morning or evening walk along the riverfront. Room and public areas were very clean. Currently repainting the exterior so may experience the scaffolding out your balcony. TV in room seemed a bit dated, not that we watched much. Ice machine was in a closet that wasn't finished but who spends too much time there? Overall was a very nice stay and we enjoyed the pool and pool bar right on the Riverwalk.

The view is gorgeous and that is about it. Be careful when you walk around the pool there are many many Broken Bricks! Every member of my party almost fell at one point or another and in different areas around the pool. When we went to the bar to get a drink the stench was unbearable. You couldn't even stand there for 1 minute waiting to receive your drink. We addressed these issues with the bartender and we were told that all of these issues have been told to the management multiple times and "they just don't care." I will not be returning there even just to take a swim!

The bar, restaurant and housekeeping get staff five stars. The wait staff were exceptional. The daytime bartender was a dead fish, but the evening bartender was GREAT. The house staff were the nicest people. Humble, respectful, always on top of it. Weren't afraid to ask me things like if I needed anything. More help in two interactions than the entire hotel staff combined and that's not even their job! Haha. As for the rest of this dump, including the Valet staff, one-star. Front desk staff, midday, terrible, non attentive, charged my card twice despite the fact I had already paid. Valet staff, are we guests bothering you!? Seriously, the Valet was the WORST part of this entire stay. Note even sorry. Overnight staff was nice. The room? Swampy, musty, overpowering. Toilet was swaying on the floor, no hot water, TV was in and out, windows are double pane, but bubbled up and blurry, curtains don't close all the way, lights all night long, can hear the other guests through the wall.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways! I needed to book a meeting room on a short notice and many of the hotels I contacted didn't even bother to call me back. Bryanna from the Sheraton contacted me very quickly and their rates for the meeting room as well as the guest rooms were very reasonable. The location was perfect so I booked the meeting room with 5 guest rooms with a one night stay. Bryanna was very attentive to our needs and responded very quickly to questions and requests. When we arrived on the first day, everything was set up as we had requested. The front desk rooms checked us all in at 10:00 a.m. (even though not all of the rooms were ready). They were so sweet to come to the meeting room to let us know when the rooms were available. A couple of us had requests from housekeeping which were handled quickly and efficiently. The guest rooms were very clean and comfortable and we all had great river view rooms with large balconies to sit outside and people watch. The staff assigned to our meeting room, went above and beyond and checked in often to see if we needed anything. The food in the meeting rooms was excellent. The next morning, I went to breakfast in the hotel restaurant and had a fabulous waiter. Very attentive and friendly. Upon checkout, our master bill was handled efficiently with no issues. I will definitely book my next meeting in the Tampa area at this hotel.

Me along with about 7 other co-workers stayed at this hotel while we were in town for work. Every person that stayed had multiple issues with their room, including myself. The AC did not work, so when it was time for bed, it was very hard to get any rest. I’m addition, I was moved to a room that the TV also did not work. This room was previously given to my co-worker and was moved out of the room for the same reasons, so I’m confused why I was put in this room if the issues were not addressed. Although the tv was fixed at the end of the last night of my stay, it was too late. The hotel was not very clean, and apparent there are a lot of renovations. I will say the staff was very nice, but it does not compare to the discomfort of staying here. The price we paid was definitely not worth it! We come to Tampa a few times a month and it’s safe to say we will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

I travel for a living and I live in hotels if it was not for the staff being down right the savior of my stay I would have checked out and went to another hotel. As other have mentioned the rooms AC does not work properly and needs to be fixed. The rooms a very big but they need to be updated for paint to tv’s and power outlets. I have been here two days with curtains closed and the room would not get below 75 degrees which is unacceptable. I hope that management puts the most needed updates to this property.

Good place to stay unless you have back issues. Their beds are well broken in (they suck). I would recommend taking your own pillow too they were awful. I understand that it's what you pay for. Great view of the city. Staff was super friendly that is always a plus.

Visiting for the hockey game. This hotel definitely caters to wedding parties using their venues. We arrived at 4pm and met up with our friends who arrived at 3pm (check-in time). They had been waiting for an hour for their room. We went to check in and anticipated them telling us we would have to wait......nope. We received our room immediately. I felt so bad for my friends who had waited now for over an hour. The rooms were reserved in their name, same size and type of room. We were told the wedding parties basically had top priority and the housekeeping was simply behind. I asked why our room was not given to my friends first, since they arrived first. Made no sense whatsoever. And then they offered them a room on the first floor that was ready, but was never offered to my friends waiting. Same price. Rooms were outdated. I work in general construction and can be very meticulous about certain things. Smelled a bit moldy. The AC unit took forever to kick in. It was so uncomfortable. The outside patio had empty beer cans from the guest before us. The metal railing on the patio was not sturdy and needs to be tightening/ fixed immediately. I guess you have to ask for a microwave. Bed was not comfy. At almost $400 a night, including parking, I was expecting a little better. They had one lady working the front desk at check out. ONE! I'd rather pay a little extra and stay closer to the arena.

Don't forget to use HotelTully.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This website will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have rates much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of my favorites in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you choose this place you won't regret it.

Do not recommend. Way better hotels that don't surprise fee you. Not worth the price. Better options in the area. Whatever you pay it'll be $75 more in surprise fees. This place is an $80 hotel disguised as a $160 hotel. Clearly cheaply remodeled. The shower plunger wouldn't stay raised and had to be taken apart to take a shower without it turning into a bath. The toilet wasn't level. Felt like 15 degrees lower on the left side. They include a 27" flat screen that looks like the TV you'd see thrown out by a dumpster because it's so old you couldn't sell it anymore. The worst thing you discover is there is no free parking on site. They have a parking garage but it's valet $40 a night only. On top of that, they charge a $28 amenities fee for wifi, pool, exercise room, the 2 bottles of water and cofee in the room already there. Say you don't want those amenities......they say the fee is for access to them even if you don't use them.

Great location and staff was friendly that’s about all the good I could say. Hotel is run down even for a “budget”. Rooms are filthy and sparse. Outside of the lobby, the rest of the facility is dingy at best. Our room temp never got below 77 degrees and struggled to get below 80 in the afternoon. We were only there for one night so we didn’t feel like complaining. I put BUDGET in quotes because by the time they rack up all the extras is it really a budget?

We booked a reservation through Expedia in February. In order to make the reservation we put a card on file in the app. We arrived on 7/8 on time for check for the room we had booked months in advance. Tina at the front desk informed us our Reservation had been cancelled the day before because "we did not have a card on file". She informed us we had been emailed and failed to respond. Standing at the desk I pulled up my emails to prove I had received no such email. Tina basically informed us that is was our problem and there was nothing she could do as they had no rooms available. I asked if they had anything for the following night thru the rest of the time we wished to stay. She lied to me and said no, finally the woman at the other computer said they did actually have available rooms and was more than helpful in getting us booked so we could enjoy our vacation. I'm thankful the other employee was able to help us salvage our vacation but based on our experience with Tina I would not recommend staying at this Hotel if that is how some of the staff treat guest.

Worst experience at a luxury hotel that I’ve ever had. For someone who stays 75 nights of the year on the road staying at nice hotels is by far was the most disappointing. Front desk was very rude and inconsiderate. Speaking on the phone while speaking to me. I was charged twice for my stay. The amenities that I paid $75 for was not included in my room. And the bartender for our complementary beverages was extremely rude as well. I would expect better from a hotel with the

This place is trashy for the price of almost 300 for 2 nights. As soon as i checked in, I didn't like the 2st room and the 3bd one wasn't any better. This place is run down and in extreme need of updating and upgrades.they make it seen beautiful online in there images but that is very deceiving. the bed its like you're sleeping on pure springs, the pain you feel on your body is unreal. The sliding doors hinges were loose, no other locks on them. The window tint on the sliding door is ripped off in places. The shower seemed like it wasn't cleaned there was hair in the shower and around the floor. The Shower head not connected to the wall. The handle to turn on the water on and off feel off. The tub wouldnt stop filling up with water. The hinges to the mini fridge door was broken. The fees and taxes are ridiculous. I don't know why they charge a resort fee. This isn't a resort style location. They charge a resort fee to use the pool, fitness center, the coffee, tea and 2 water bottle they provide. The valet parking is forced upon you because u don't have another choice, that is a 40 dollar a day charge additional to that resort fee.

I was in town for Comicon and the Hotel Tampa Riverwalk was within walking distance and priced better than some of the neighboring hotels. The location on the Riverwalk is spectacular and it is a good distance from local sites. There is also a nearby parking garage that is MUCH less expensive than the hotel's valet parking. Things I liked include the location, the view from the balcony of the river front room, the overall quality of the accommodations, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the pool, and the morning coffee in the lobby. There are some nice little reading nooks in the lobby area as well. My 3rd floor room was pretty nice with a comfy bed and a great big TV. The AC wasn't overly noisy either. I didn't eat or drink at the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows super soft (almost too soft). I appreciated the hideaway bed for the 3rd member of my family. There were a few issues though with this older property. It is kept up nicely but is showing wear in some spots. There was a mystery leak in the bathroom that led to the floor being covered in water even after a short shower. The TV remote was finicky and the channel reset ever time the TV was turned on. Mostly quiet, it could be a little noisy at times but the hotel is in downtown Tampa. We never got housecleaning and had to ask for fresh towels and waters to be brought up. The coffee in the room is about as bad as coffee gets so I would suggest not even bothering with it. The issues were minor and for the most part my family and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tampa Riverwalk and would likely return because of the price and convenience. ~ Kort (3.5 stars)

Our weekend getaway at this hotel was nothing short of extraordinary! Accompanied by my sister and a friend, we were warmly greeted by the staff upon arrival, setting the tone for a delightful stay. Their attentiveness and helpfulness, from guiding us to our room to offering assistance with any queries, were commendable. Speaking of the room, it was spacious and exuded comfort in every aspect. The river-facing view added a remarkable depth to the ambiance, especially during sunset—an absolute highlight of our experience. With convenient access to the boardwalk, exploring Tampa became effortlessly enjoyable with just a short stroll from the hotel. Without a doubt, I would eagerly return to this establishment and wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers seeking a memorable stay.
