I got a recommendation from a local that this would be a great spot to check out if I wanted to see birds and gators. Sadly, no gators but lots of birds! (and other critters). Be warned, there’s a $2 entry fee and they only accept cash (I had to leave to find an ATM) I arrived a few minutes after opening (8:00 AM) and was greeted by a friendly booth attendant. The parking was plentiful and there seemed to be plenty of picnic and recreational areas good for groups. The boardwalk was easy to find (though the original trail I took was flooded so I had to backtrack). I wandered around taking in all of the birds, reptiles, bugs, and other critters hanging out at the edge of the water. Bring a bottle of water and pee before you start the boardwalk. Binoculars and a camera strongly recommended!

If you're looking for a cool and refreshing outdoor experience, this park is a must-visit! The trail is easy to walk and suitable for people of all ages, and the $2 entree fee per car is well worth it for the beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings. During my visit, I was lucky enough to see alligators in their natural habitat. The boardwalks are well-maintained and provide stunning views of the surrounding landscape. I especially enjoyed the observation tower, which offered a panoramic view of the park. There are also several shelters and a playground for families with children. This is a great place to take photos and capture special memories. Overall, I highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a fun and scenic outdoor adventure with friends and family.

Really nice boardwalk hike and inland hike. A bit too short, so we managed to walk the routes twice. Loved the bench stops along the boardwalk route. The observation tower gave a nice view. Come early in the morning for better sights. I've put in a video of the boardwalk and the nature trails. There was gators when I did the walk Remember dogs are allowed, but not on the boardwalk

Bountiful of nature and beauty. . Definitely recommended activity if you are in Largo to see the wildlife and enjoy the Flora and the fauna. . We were able to spot numerous alligators , tortoises, flamingo, gillinule, heron and lots more. We spotted more alligators in this park than any other in Tampa. . They have a decent long boardwalk and also a tower somewhere in the middle . . There is plenty of parking available. . Highly recommended to wear appropriate clothing, even though there is shade of the tree the sun can get into your skin . Also have hydrating liquids. .

This is my favorite walking trail. You can walk or ride your bike on the paved loop and there are some nature trails, as well. If you walk the boardwalk, you may see an alligator in the Hillsborough River from the observation deck. There is a $2 fee to enter the park (cash only).

We loved this park! If we'd had more time, we definitely would have rented a canoe. It's a great wildlife preserve. There's one section closed on the boardwalk right now, and you can't climb the tower (also closed), but everything else was great. Lots of baby gators and birds. All the large gators were hiding when we were here but it was still worth the time and $2 entry fee. If you have the time (you can see a lot in less than an hour), I recommend coming here. We also appreciated the water filling inside the nature center.

Stroller friendly nature trails and park. We saw turtles and an alligator! The trails are beautiful, mostly walking on a board walk. The playground is brand new. It costs 2$ per car to get in, but it’s well worth it!

Cool place to see some local wildlife and go for a stroll in the boardwalk. The park is not very big and its also not much of a hiking trail, but it does have a few picnic tables that can be reserved and there's also canoe rentals on site. There is a $2 fee to enter, so make sure to bring some cash with you if you decide to visit.

Lettuce Lake is one of our family's favorite parks! You can pack a lunch and spend the whole day here. There's a playground and open field, long boardwalks, paved walking trail, public bathrooms, and lots of parking. The boardwalk goes along the river where you can spot many interesting animals. Huge biodiversity here! You can rent canoes and explore the river, or climb the observation tower to get a breathtaking view! I highly recommend spending time here.

Wish it were a bit longer of a trail but overall lots of wildlife and a few small gators. Please don't feed the wildlife or leave your trash about to be blown over the railing.

One of the most beautiful boardwalks I've ever had the pleasure to saunter through! Very accessible with a wide, level path and guardrails throughout!

This park is one of the best in Hillsborough county. Its boardwalk is well maintained and gives you a great view of the area's flora and fauna while keeping nature safe from its many visitors. Its observation tower is perfectly located and gives its visitors an awesome view of the park. If you look carefully while on the boardwalk, you may see an allegator sunbathing. Good family park. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent as well as water.

This was awesome! We had a blast looking at the Boardwalk and the nature trails. We saw several alligators, snakes, lizards, owls, fish, turtles, armadillos and much more! You can use the canoes (or kayak's ?) or even grill out for a picnic!

A long boardwalk through the swamp, we saw one alligator and lots of other wildlife. It was a nice break, and shaded by trees for the majority. This is an accessible way to see the natural Florida environment. Admission is cheap, $2 per car. You can also rent canoes and kayaks.

Boardwalk is nice and peaceful. You get to see a lot of nature. Plenty of birds, fish and alligators in the river !! Nice paved path through the woods as well but no ebikes or eboards allowed... we were asked to leave ... And I grew up here in Tampa. 🥺

Very pretty paved walkway and boardwalk through tropical woods. An easy 1.5 ish mile loop, with several offshoots through the woods. Good place to stroll or walk a dog, with no challenges.

This was a serene walk through Florida’s natural habitat. Gators, herons, turtles and more were abundant. The boardwalk is well maintained and mixed with sun and shade.

Ein toller kleiner Park am See mit einem tollen Spazierweg durch die Natur. Es sind immer Alligatoren und Vögel zu beobachten. Ein toller Nachmittags Ausflug

The board walk is fabulous! Yesterday morning we saw so many different birds, 2 Gators and few turtles. The trees, plants, flowers water and Lettuce are so beautiful. However, visitors have spoiled the look by leaving trash, water bottles and chip bags. It's five star but shame on those leaving trash.

Great community nature park. The boardwalk features more wildlife than you'll see in the majority of state or country parks in the area. Well attended and well maintained by Hillsborough County.
