😠 All fish had ich and the owner was selling them knowingly without telling customers. Said he was doing a copper dip, no treatment in the tanks. Dead fish in tanks and others close to death. Will not go back do not recommend. People often mention fish, selection, store, water, tank, good, tanks, saltwater, staff, aquarium,

I am seriously disappointed. I came in yesterday to have my water levels tested. I was told that the PH was a little high, and was told that I should buy a product to fix it. So I did. I added the chemical to the water as instructed, and woke up this morning to all of our fish dead. 1 blue tang, 3 clown fish, 4 crabs, and one other fish. I went to the store today after calling to see what they recommended. I was asked to bring in my water, and he said the levels were all messed up, the ammonia was between 0.25 and 0.50 and the nitrate was a dark purple. I then asked the guy what caused that, and he said the filter, & the dead fish. The fish dying caused my water levels to be erratic, but I don’t think that’s what caused the fish to die. So I decided to get a second opinion and get it tested at another location. Turns out the guy lied to me. The pH was off the carts and everything else was fine.

Bought a 13.5 gallon for $279. Later I see the same tank for $179. Was sold fish that wasn’t good for that size tank. Was told my ph was off and was sold something to fix it and all my fish died.

Photo below of one of my two blue Acaras from this wonderful aquarium shop! They have a great selection of both freshwater & saltwater (including corals). The owner/employees are very knowledgeable; highly recommend. My next purchase will be a few discus fish.

I happened upon this aquarium store when I needed to go to the wireless store in the same plaza so I stopped in. My first thought was that it was a pretty big selection of fresh and saltwater fish, coral, and inverts. They've got all the supplies and food you need as well. Seemed pretty fair when it came to pricing as well. The staff were friendly. Definitely worth stopping in and giving them a look!

Amazing small business with a huge assortment of fish, both freshwater and saltwater. Lots of specialty supplies, tanks, live plants and pretty much what ever else you could think of to put in a tank. Fair pricing and a premium vendor for Fluval!

This is a local aquarium store. It is nestled in a shopping mall and easily passed when driving around. It was staffed by one person and very busy. The interior could use more staff for care. The service was acknowledging. I left and came back because of the uniqueness of their offerings. They have fresh and saltwater fish. I would go back again. They had extra large (approximately 6.5 inches nose to tail) fancy fancy gold fish.

The store is nice, has a-lot of pretty fish, anatomies and, corals. It’s sad to say that the employees aren’t doing a good job with cleaning the tanks and there are several dead fish that are just laying around, no one collecting the dead fish so the fish that are still alive are eating them and digesting, whatever parasite they have, the “healthy” fish are now getting sick. My boyfriend and I love to go drive around Brandon,Tampa and the St.Pete area just to see what all the fish stores offer. The employees at coral reef aquariums are sweet but need more experience with salt water. We bought a fox face and 4 damsels. Acclimated and introduced them in 2 different systems once we got home. Both systems are well-established with much more delicate fish than damsels. Not even 24 hours later they’re dead. Aren’t damsels the hardiest fish? So something is definitely up with coral reef aquariums water and the owner need to do a clean out of all the dead fish in each tank and medicate the main fish display. BUYERS BEWARE! I’m putting this review for learning and growth for the company and buyers.

Knowledgeable staff and great selection. Support your LFS! I've bought neo and amano shrimps here and they have tiny mexican lobsters (crayfish) as well tons of fresh and salt water fish and coral.

Store is jam packed with items so they have a nice selection. Prices on corals are good and they have a good amount of larger ones. Frags are on the larger side too. Friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend Coral Reef Aquariums to any aquarium hobbyist or fish enthusiast. They offer a top-notch selection of fish and exceptional customer service. My visit was a delightful experience, and I can't wait to return for my next aquarium addition. Thank you.

This place was great. The staff is very helpful & you can text special requests in if they don't have it in stock. My son has been looking for freshwater puffer fish & they said they can get them within a week or 2 so in the meantime he got shrimp, plants & some other algae eater to help keep the tank clean. Will definitely be going back.

Had a good selection of fish, but if the fish hides, dont bother. the worker will try and sell you a different one because he is too lazy to move the rock to get the fish. also when you checkout make sure your order is right and do the calculations yourself. how does a $183 order go to a $93 order? save yourself the stress and go someplace else. theres plenty other places to go when it comes to a shop like this. never again.

I recently moved to Tampa and was looking for a reef supplies store in the area. I decided to visit Coral Reef Aquariums after reading the positive reviews. I was impressed by the selection and the quality of the livestock and all the supplies they carry. Justin is a wonderful, knowledgable and a professional person who cares greatly about his customers. He located a specific anemone I was looking for and then gave me a choice to pick from multiple samples. This is a great store and I am a customer for life.

Nice and clean store. I was specifically looking for a healthy looking copperband fish that was eating and they kept me updated after they received a few on the progress as the fish went through their receiving process. Great purchase!

After looking everywhere for a axolotl for my daughter's bday, Coral Reef was so helpful. They picked their phone up right away, answered all of my questions and were able to work with my on a pick-up date that would better align closer to my daughter's bday. All other aquariums I called gave me a run-around on the phone. I would highly recommend Coral Reef Aquariums.

They have a wide selection of things, really helpful people, have been in business FOREVER, and it's a great little shop. Not knocking any stars off, but the floor is a little slick every time I'm in there.

Bought my Step daughter a gorgeous lil Glow Fish. It's our first fish, Chris was very patient in answering all our questions and educating us on the do's and donts. Had a great experience. Thx guys, we will be back!

pure NOSTALGIA! Used to go here alot back in 2016, my dad bought a LOT of fish, enough that my dad had a freshwater tank, my mom a saltwater tank. I don't know if they have the fish in a bucket pond you can touch at the front entrance though. By the looks of it, layout of the store is the same, and the cool blue led lights still there which is a plus as well

Ready for an honest review? Very nice staff and decent selection of fish for a small store. Some of the employees are not very informed when it comes to aquariums. Most of the fish I’ve gotten from here have died. The tanks are dirty and overcrowded.

Saltwater section needs a lot of work. All coral tanks have majano, aiptasia and asterina starfish everywhere. Prices do not reflect the health of the coral or what the normal retail price should be. 59.99 for pulsing Xenia should tell you everything you need to know. Two Turbinaria frags were literally covered in detritus.

A salesperson sold us 4 fish that shouldn't have been in the same tank together including an African cichlid which killed 2 fish and maimed one. I took the African cichlid back and the store took no responsibility for what happened, but they did take the African cichlid off my hands for free to resale. I lost $40 .

I went into the store to buy a fish and saw an aquarium with cute crabs setup in it and asked if they could live in an aquarium. The employee said yes. I bought the crab. The crab kept going on top of my sponge filter so I knew something was wrong and I called the store and the employee told me that they really need to get out of the water and they only keep them setup that way because they sell so fast. I am very upset about this as I don’t want to set up another tank and I want to do right by this little guy. I called back and this other employee hung up on me.

If you are looking for a good selection of fish you found it here. They have some unique saltwater fish that I dont see at my regular lfs in Lutz/land lakes area like the standard 6 line wrasse and oscellaris clown but instead they have some unique wrasse and a lot of selection for nano or slightly larger tanks. I didnt see that many larger fish but my tanks are small so wasnt looking for that. The corals arent the best ive seen and a little pricey but the fish are very cheap and lots of them! ! I have been back one more time and plan to stop in whenever I am on that side of town! Nice little shop!

Didn’t have a lot of time to buy stuff today but was really impressed at the staff. Especially the little boy that greeted us as we came in. Little kid had so much knowledge. Out of the seven stores we went today this was one of our favorites. We will be back on our next trip.
