I am new to the area. I live in clearwater and I came to this store in 40min because I saw it on the internet and it seemed like a good place. The first day I was attended by a very nice boy from a Cuban family with very good attention. The next day I came to buy some fish and this time it was totally different. My wife, who knows nothing about the subject, told me: why is he taking the fish out of the aquarium that way? aren't fish supposed to get stressed? And obviously the fish express themselves and this guy would take the fish out of the aquarium like he hates what he does. anyway. Two of the fish I buy died and they are supposed to have a policy that they refund the money or replace the dead fish. I drove 40min with a water tube because they told me to bring water but they didn't tell me how much. to tell me that he knew a lot about fish and that I did not know anything and that that water was not enough for all the tests and that they would not replace anything. I sincerely hoped to be a more frequent customer at this store due to the experience I had with the first seller. but this second experience with the tall bearded guy was the worst. The rudest guy I've ever dealt with in my life.

Update: most every fish we bought here came with dropsy I've only been able to save one. I bought 3 shrimp, and 8 fish. Only one is still alive. I brought some of the fish back, they tested my water and since the water quality was good, they replaced the fish but the next fish died too. I have three established tanks, all if them have had zero problems until I brought home those fish. The staff here are very helpful, knowledgeable, fast and super nice. The selection of fish is huge and diverse. The water looks clean and clear. Tons of plants and corals. They have a huge selection of fluval products, aquariums, and everything you should need for a beautiful tank set up. The prices are reasonable and comparable to regular pet stores. We will definitely be back!

These pics are taken of my remaining guys. Sadly marine warehouse is a dishonest buisness who sells you fish with parasites. I had 20 cichlids in this 100 gallon and now only 10 remain. But soon there will be 0. here is a picture of a cichlid ive bad for 3 years. My entire tank was fine untill I brought in 4 cichlids costing me $200 from the shop. I now have lost fish that I have loved and cared for years and regret paying $200 to lose thousands of dollars in the long run now. I wish I listened to the other bad reviews of the place as Ive heard they had a bad rep among the fish community on facebook but I still gave them a shot and now my once gorgeous tank that I would show everyone is bare bones. Ive spent $100s on medicine and filter media trying to fix this issue but sadly its not working.

Brought 40 mollies as a donation and had to share this experience. The gentleman working up front named Lucas gave me an incredibly smug look when I walked in with my fish, even though I’ve called in weeks in advance to be sure they would accept my donations, the day prior and the day of delivery for early notice. Lucas noted my fish were kind of small and was completely unwelcoming. I told him the box my fish baggies were in was not secure at bottom and he didn’t listen and was not attentive at all because he thought they were small. He grabbed the box and the bags hit the floor. My fish went all over the floor and he showed no remorse. I had to personally run behind the counter to salvage them! The owner came to help And asked what happened. I told him the worker was not listening to me as I told him the box was not a fixed at the bottom. After rescuing them, Lucas took the fish to the side sink and very aggressively poured them into 3 containers before the final bag for transport and acclimation in their tank. He threw the old baggies to the side and didn’t even realize there was another fish left in the bag! Of which he threw into the final container. I told him he was being incredibly rough! And his response was they see a lot worse during shipping! As if it is a lesser of evils that is righteous here. This boy was so unsensitized when it came to caring for my babies and completely disregarded me as a customer. I spoke with the owner with my complaints and he told me Lucas was the star of the store! Their number 1 priority should be fish safe handling and keeping. There is no way this boy is the star of this store. I do not recommend this shop and especially do not recommend you bring your babies here for safe handling and keeping. Ruined my experience and hopes with this shop. Total disregard for the customer and the fish being donated. This is a clear sign into the ethic behind their fish handling. The owner was nice and worked to make me feel better but I still can not believe how this employee treated my fish.

Multiple times I’ve purchased thousands in fish , tanks, coral and supplies from here. The corals are dirty so u have to dip them , the fish have velvet or ick. First time I didn’t think anything of it just a sick fish (harlequin tusk) wiping out 10 other fish who were happy and healthy . Cleaned out and recycled our 550gal tank and started over . Slowly we gave the tank new life again… everyone was doing great! Then purchased 2 angels - within a week we noticed what looked like peeling and white pimples on the angels . Mind you only the angels came from marine supply. Even though the employee guaranteed all their fish are quarantined , we had the same disease wipe out another round of our fish. Water was perfect, everyone was perfect until adding the angels. Do not trust that they treat new fish , either they don’t or something in their large tank attaches itself to the fish. Safe yourself time, and thousands of dollars-GO ANYWHERE BUT MARINE WAREHOUSE!! It’s ridiculous and heartbreaking having to constantly start over due to this store. Never buying there again !!!

I’ve been in the hobby off and on for 15 years, fresh, salt & coral. Marine Warehouse is hands down the best store I’ve ever bought from. They have an amazing selection of salt/fresh/coral but more importantly, the quality. I drive over 2 hours just to shop there. They’ve always gone above & beyond with customer service & making sure you have the best experience. I highly suggest checking it out. It’s 100% worth the drive if you’re not local.

Customer service is second to none! I’ve been to all the aquarium shops in the area and will say Marine Warehouse is hands down the top choice. From freshwater to saltwater they have a tremendous selection of livestock and dry goods. They are courteous and knowledgeable. As an avid fish keeper of over 30 years and former member of the industry, this shop will not disappoint. Pedro was super helpful in catching me some rainbows and fancy guppies for my boys new aquarium. Tye was super cool and took the time to feed the saltwater puffer tank for my little guys to watch. 10/10 will be back for all my aquarium needs! -Dr. Billy

My go to fish store for supplies, advise, and to spend on my expensive hobby. Bryan helped me out when I received a faulty tank, and because of that I've never strayed away. Good people.

Great fish selection. Staff is very friendly. Only reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is because their Honey Gouramis must have some type of disease. I initially bought two. One died VERY quickly. They replaced it (they tested my water, and it is fine). And the replacement died even quicker. I did not bother returning the second fish and gave it a proper burial in my garden instead. Oddly enough, the surviving Honey Gourami is thriving happily in my heavily planted tank. I also noticed one of the Harlequin Rasboras (that I also bought here) has a bit of mouth rot... He's happy but I'll do an antibiotic treatment in their food soon. So, the fish health is mediocre at best. Now, I truly don't know if that's the store's fault or if it's simply the nature of the beast with this type of business (farming, transporting, and selling of ornamental fish). Would I recommend this store? Yes. Is it the best store ever? No.

I’ve been twice, a novice doing research. The first time we were offered assistance and gained some knowledge. The second time I was ready to purchase and had a couple people offering help. All staff members offered expert knowledge and different options. Although this is a little far to travel I will be back again because it is worth it.

DO NOT BUY ANY FISH FROM THIS PLACE We have 4 years customer in this place, they never said us if the fish have a any problem you can bring back until 48 hours. We bought more than 12 expensive fish and all of them dead. We lost almost 2000$ in this place. Last week we bought giant angel fish about 500$. The fish dead after 3 days. They did not care about anything. We bring fish and simply of our tank waters. But they said we could not refund our money. Please, when you try to buy any fish be careful about everything.

I live about an hour away from this place but I had a customer recommend this store so I decided to check it out, and now I make sure I check it out at least once a month. Plenty of great finds for hobbyist for a good price. Bought a school of rainbow shiners and all 6 survived an hour and a half drive home. Also great prices on rimless nano tanks!

I've been going here for years. I haven't found anywhere like it in the Tampa area. Marine Warehouse has the best staff, a huge selection of saltwater and freshwater livestock, and everything you need for your aquarium setup. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, I always learn something new when I visit. You simply can't go wrong with Marine Warehouse!

I’ve been in reefing for over a decade and have been to countless stores in several states that I’ve lived in, all of varying quality but this place is in a category of it’s own. This place mistreats and doesn’t value their creatures live’s as living things, they view them as what I’m assuming was the manger told me verbatim “swimming dollar bills”. Absolutely deplorable comment and attitude towards real life creatures. Also the ill mannered staff in addition to my first points was really shocking too experience, rudeness to an unnecessary degree. Do not be misguided by the positive reviews from the Tampa professional athletes who get treated better than the average customer and go elsewhere or even online (hard for me to say go online but that’s how strongly I feel) for your aquarium needs. Truly upsetting experience, can’t be more disappointed and repulsed. Karma.

Highly recommended! Marine Warehouse Aquarium is a fantastic fish shop. Their selection of aquarium fish is impressive, and the quality is top-notch. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to assist. It's a pleasure to shop there, and I'm thrilled with the vibrant and healthy fish I've purchased. If you're a fish enthusiast, this is the place to go!

They have probably the best coral selection in the Tampa Bay area. Nice baserock also. It's my go-to place if you can't find something specific. Well-staffed (like the opposite of Home Depot) 😁

Ty and many others have been so helpful everytime I've had a issue with my goldfish. He is happy healthy and thriving thanks to them. Its well worth the 45 minutes it takes me to drive there. They also carry a huge line of Seachem products which is the only brand I use in my freshwater tank.

This shop is excellent in every way. The staff is friendly, the store is clean, and the livestock is among the healthiest and best-maintained that I have ever seen in 30 years in the hobby. Even the wild-caught marine fish are in absolutely pristine condition, which is very indicative of the superb husbandry of this store and its selection of suppliers.

My first time there and I thought it was a nice and clean store. Staff was available, friendly and knowledgeable. I didn't plan on buying anything, as I had already bought a few things at another fish store but I picked up a green Apple scoly and a blood shrimp from Marine Warehpuse. All of their fish, inverts, coral and plants looked healthy and in excellent condition! It's about a 40 min drive from me but I'm definitely going back!!

A lot of good expertise at the shop. You can ask detailed questions and they’ll give you detailed answers. My only feedback is that they try and solve a lot of aquarium issues with chemicals; and while this is one way to do it, it gets tedious and expensive. The people in the freshwater section always give good advice on plants and how to properly stock a tank (without overstocking it). They have a lot of options for the nano tank hobbyist and have stock a lot of nano fish, nano lights, really good quality plants, etc.

Really like the store every time I go in. Great selection of freshwater and saltwater fish and they all look really healthy. Also a good selection of plants. Wish they carried discus though as I’m always looking to add more to my discus breeding hobby. Told me they are to hard to keep so they don’t bother, but they keep angels and other Orinoco/Amazon basin cichlids that live side by side in the same water quality. Trust me guys if your reading this you should get into selling discus too. Typically the crowd who keeps discus and altum angels and stuff is the saltwater crowd since they already have RODI kits to make perfect water for them.

  • 3/5 Kevin M. 1 year ago on Google
Decent fish selection, shrimp selection was good, driftwood and hard scape was not impressive, freshwater plant selection would be great except major nutrient deficiencies. 90% of the plants looked really bad. (Algae, spotting, yellowing). Also took way too long for us to get asked if we needed something. the manager up front seemed like a nice guy. I’d give them a shot in the future if they turned things around. Shop has a lot of potential if they had someone going the extra mile with the freshwater section.

Awesome place. The owner Brian is the best. Always helped me with issues I had. And has beautiful fish I'll always go here to get my stuff. Brian is the best. Great place for all your fish needs

Love this place! Great selection decent prices, anytime adding new fish to existing tanks do yourselves a favor and quarantine your new fish! Will continue to do business here.

Stood there for 10mins and no one acknowledged me. Felt like I had to go bother someone for help. Livestock there don't seem to be very healthy. Went to a place in Brandon called The Aquarium Place and gave them a 5 star review. Great customer service. Got lots of plants for the money and will be going back to them when I need fish.
