My son and I trained with Brock in Texas. Both of us had trained at other schools for a number of years. During that time I suffered a knee injury, on the mats, and was out for a year and a half. Needless to say I had a little bit of reluctance returning. When I did, Brock was the new head coach at the school we were attending. He was great to train with. Very knowledgeable, great with the teens, which my son was at the time, and the atmosphere on the mats was that of friends training together. I'm not sure we could have had a better experience.

Best bjj in the area. Brock is an amazing coach. He clearly cares about the progress of each of his students and the gym as a whole. The community has also been phenomenal, everyone is inviting and helpful. The gym does a number of after hours events as well ranging from car washes for charity and bjj watch parties. If you get the opportunity to attend, you should consider yourself lucky.

This gym is incredible! Clean, professional, welcoming, available for all ages/experience! If you have never tried jiu jitsu or had a less than desirable first experience, please check out Brock and his gym! This guy is an incredible instructor and helps everyone achieve their potential! I am so grateful to have found this gym and hope anyone who reads this will take a leap of faith and try it out!

Brock is a world-class teacher who coaches with passion and patience. It’s a privilege to have him instructing our 3-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. They look forward to class every week and have improved their overall athleticism while learning the fundamentals of self-defense. The gym has a supportive, welcoming, and vibrant community. The facility is clean and well maintained. I highly City of Palms Jiu Jitsu to adults and kids of all experience levels.

Just completed my fourth class at BQuick JiuJitsu. Being 8 months postpartum from having my son, it feels amazing to know my body can do this. I decided to take up Jiu-Jitsu, firstly, because my husband is a black belt and started this business. But the more I think about it, I want to be a BJJ mama because it will continue to teach my child life lessons. I can show my son how to handle his emotions in a healthy way through the art of JiuJitsu. I will be able to show him that it’s never to late to try something new and find passion. JiuJitsu teaches discipline, respect and courage— all core values I hope he will grow to possess. If you have any doubts about starting— I’m telling you don’t!

City of Palms is all around amazing. This gym not only provides valuable training, but everyone at the gym (including students) are so welcoming to new people that join. They constantly support one another. The culture of the school is strong and healthy. The gym is always clean, professor Brock is kind and incredibly respectful towards his students and the parents. Front desk ladies always welcome people with a smile. They support local cops (adopt a cop program) helping them prepare for any issues they may encounter in the streets while they’re protecting citizens. They have amazing merchandise! Flow N Roll gear is great quality, and affordable. My whole family trains here, including myself and I honestly wouldn’t want to ever train anywhere else in the area.

As an out-of-town visitor, I was welcomed into a great training environment. The coaches and students were very friendly and happy to have a visiting student for a short time. It's a nice big training area. The instruction was excellent. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth checking out!

If you are looking for a great place to learn new skills and make new friends look no further. Being from out of town I was a little apprehensive to try training at a different gym, however these worries were immediately taken away by the welcoming atmosphere created by the instructors and students. What was even more amazing about this academy was the variety of students from around the world eager to share their knowledge and improve the experience. Professor Brock Garlick creates an engaging and competitive environment, and is also the nicest person who will ever armbar you. Also I would like to add that this was one of the cleanest facilities for bjj I have been to, and it is apparent that great attention to detail is put into maintaining a sanitary place to train.

Brock is the man! I trained with Brock for a little over a year and in his classes he taught in a way that was simple and easy to understand. I find for BJJ that is crucial to have an instructor like that.

We are starting new as a family in jiu-jitsu and Brock and Brandon have done a great job so far being patient and teaching at our level! My boys are almost 6 and they are loving it! For me, I wanted something to challenge me physically and mentally. This is going to do just that. We have twin boys and they both are very expressive with their hands, we feel learning self control and discipline through this sport will help them through their lives.

I have known Brandon Quick for years, just recently met Brock Garlick, and both are very qualified Black Belts in Jiu-Jitsu. They have both dedicated a large amount of their time towards the betterment of art. They have taken the time to develop and build out a premier kids, teen, adult, and family training facility to promote one's confidence, courage, and character. They are committed to ensure your training with them is met with the highest standards. Experience the difference with them and you will find your home with BQuick JiuJitsu.

I joined this gym over a year ago and have attended 250 classes since then. It has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Between the thorough instructors, the atmosphere of the facility and the camaraderie with my team, I have truly found a place I love going to. I lost over 100lbs from when I first started and that is in no small part thanks to my teammates who push me daily to get better. As the saying goes, iron sharpens iron, and I can attest to this being a place where everyone is willing to help you grow daily. No matter if you want to compete or just learn bjj for fun, come check out this gym. You won’t regret it.

My two children ages 4 and 7 train at City of Palms. It has been such a rewarding experience for them. They have already gained so much self confidence and skills in only a year. The coaches are amazing and spend one-on-one time helping each student succeed. We will definitely be training here long term and I have told all my friends to send their kids here. I truly can’t recommend City of Palms enough!

Haven't trained in a long time, but my first BJJ gym back and it was a great choice. Very friendly group to roll with, and more importantly everyone was there to not only learn but get better together on the mats. Will be returning to keep on that grind!

Outstanding gym. People are friendly and skilled. The mats are very clean and comfortable. The coach is amazing and talented. I dropped in while visiting family and was warmly welcomed into a gym full of cool people and competitive rolls. Coach Brock is a highly talented jiu jitsu athlete and a phenomenal coach. Even as a visitor, he took the time to point out unique shortcomings in my game and helped me work on them every class. If I lived here, this would be my home gym.

Our 7 year old has been with this wonderful school for a month now. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. Our son is a little bit smaller than most kids his age. He’s also the youngest of 5, and gets a run for his money most days. We wanted him to learn discipline and how to defend himself if needed. We also wanted him to be a part of something that brought him a sense of community and confidence. The staff and students here are amazing, and very respectful. We were blown away at how respectful each student was and how they embraced our son like he’s been there since day one. The very environment we want him in. The coaches are very patient and get on the kids level. Each class you see an improvement with each kid in the class. Even though we have moved back to Parrish (an hour and a half north) we’ve made it a priority to attend at least 2 classes a week. We found a place for him that he loves and is improving him in so many ways. We are so grateful for finding City of Palms 🤙🏽

About a year ago I took the leap and decided to start training BJJ and honestly as cliche as it is to say I wish I would have sooner. Jiu-jitsu has really pushed me out of my comfort zone and the obsession is real. It’s real life problem solving with dire physical consequences. My workouts outside of the mats now have a purpose other than to just stay fit - focusing on mobility and conditioning. My free time at night now consist of watching competition footage and anything BJJ related . My eating habits have cleaned up and for the first time since my time in the military I feel at home surrounded by like minded Individuals. There’s something special about being in a room full hard working people who are all working towards the same goal - to be the best versions of themselves and learn something beneficial at the same time. All my training partners over at CITY OF PALMS have welcomed me with open arm(bars). It’s a safe but competitive atmosphere that Coach Brock and the rest of the leadership have created. So happy I found this sport / martial art and even more grateful For the family atmosphere, professionalism and cleanliness at City of Palms. If you live or ever visit SWFL, make sure you take the time and visit this location you won’t regret it!

The City of Palms Kid’s class has been an excellent experience for our son. He joined with no Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, or other formal martial arts knowledge at 7 years old and has been training for 8 months at the time of writing this. Since then his skills, fitness, confidence, and overall composure have improved immensely. At the start, it was an activity for him to learn a new skill and stay active but has turned into a drive to learn, compete, and be successful. We’re very grateful for the new friends and community he’s gained both on and off the mat. Coach Brock, Danielle, and all the other coaches that help with the kid’s class provide the perfect mix of technical and fundamental perfection with a firm, fair, and fun approach. From the coaches to the more experienced higher belts, everyone trains with a student/coach mentality to all get better together. Highly recommend City of Palms BJJ for those interested in learning BJJ regardless of the level of student.

The atmosphere and community here are unmatched. Coach Brock and the team have created a special place where all are welcome, encouraged, and put in a position to grow. Even in a group setting, you still get that one on one instruction which makes all the difference. Whether you're looking to just get into better shape, learn a martial art, enroll your kids, compete at a high level, or just be apart of an awesome community, this place is for you.

I was in town for Mother’s Day and was looking for a place to train for a few days as I have IBJJF Baton Rouge coming up. They were super kind and let me join them for some great technical training and an amazing workout. I definitely feel like I was able to grow visiting this gym. I’ve got some new cards up my sleeve that I can’t wait to practice back at my home gym. Much love to everyone at City of Palms! I’ll be back next time I’m in town! Oh, also I got some super sick merch from them. Y’all check em out!

City of Palms has been everything I had hoped it would be when considering learning Jiu-Jitsu. I started here about a year and a half ago at the age of 47. The vibe I got from Professor Brock and everyone there was inviting, supportive, encouraging and definitely challenging. My youngest daughter (age 9) started at the same time I did and has made some of the best friendships. I visited several locations prior to COP and I knew COP was the right choice. I absolutely recommended City of Palms as a great place to train for Adults and Kids at any level of experience!

From the moment my son started to attend BQuick BJJ the dedication and professionalism was apparent. Eventually he moved up the ranks and started collecting hardware and taken first at the Dallas state championships for his weight class. Thankyou for instilling morals, ethics and values within your teaching structure.

I've been training in the Martial Arts since 1983. I've trained in Judo and BJJ schools and competed around the Country and in Europe, so I've been to many schools and experienced lots of instructors. It's been a real pleasure to have the opportunity to come in and train and learn from Brock whenever i'm in town. Brock is an excellent instructor and true technician who understands how things work and how to apply those principles to your individual game. When we worked together pre-tournament, not only was he super-gracious, he really helped me with some trouble-spots that have became a permanent addition to my game.

Coach Brock was my sons first instructor at 10 years old and a huge part of his continued success and love for the sport at 15 now. Coach Brock and Brandon clearly know the game and taught my son to be hard nosed and resilient. It has shaped his character in the most positive way. OK and before I leave I have to brag a little......now although my son is pretty talented with a competition record of 60 wins and only 8 losses with half of those wins from kids older than him and outweighed him has a lot to do with the instructor too. Not to mention their good people as well.

Coach Brock was a wonderful coach who taught my daughter so much. She was shy but aggressive and he showed her out to bring out her inner beast. He explained in detail a certain move ir how to get out of a certain situation. He was very patient with her with showing a lot of positivity with being straight forward and serious. She took well to that and understood everything he said to her. He was very professional with the parents too. Overall an awesome coach!!! My daughter misses him so much.

I wanted to leave a quick review for Coach Brock. My son trained with Brock for more than one year. Coach Brock was always very professional, very positive, and extremely knowledgeable about BJJ.My son thoroughly enjoyed training with him. Coach Brock has since moved from Texas to Florida, but given the chance, we would definitely train with him again. If you have the chance, I highly recommend signing up at his gym. Gene Smith

I have been training at Bquickjj since the day the doors opened in February and I couldn’t be more satisfied! Brandon and Brock are amazing Black Belt teachers, training partners, and now friends of mine. They have created an incredible family atmosphere that I absolutely love. Their commitment to saftey and the creation of strong bonds with each other is palpable very quickly. I have seen this gym and it's professors radically change the life of close family members around me. Don't take my word for it though, go see for yourself. OSS!!
