Great spot for hot dogs and sandwiches. Also have great shakes. Good place to try if you are around USF area.

Simple, straightforward, american cuisine! Everything was made to perfection. I had the Chicago dog, which I believe is a must try for any adventurous eater in their life. I have to say it is the most unique preparation of a dog I've eaten and in a good way. We also had the cheese fries, I tried the onion rings, and had a chocolate malt shake which was one of the best I've had. The order was on time, correct, and everything you'd need for to go was in the bag (napkins. Utensils, etc.) Absolutely loved the food and the environment, although I took the food to go. Only thing I'd say is their large is quite large so the portion sizes were a little big for me, especially the shake so keep in mind it'll be more than enough, even for some heavier eaters out there like myself.

It's like going to Disney but with much better food. Gorgeous interior and incredible sandwiches. You have to try the Big Italian with peppers, it's the best! Honestly eat that thing.

Authentic Chicago dogs and Italian beef sandwiches. This has become one of my new favorites in Tampa, the food is delicious plenty of seating and the prices are reasonable. Great place for families, make sure to get hot peppers on ur Italian beef 🔥 and try a slice of their chocolate cake to finish the meal experience.

I was in Tampa for a few days and to my surprise….. Portillo’s!!! This place is like no other. I had the pleasure of enjoying the location in Chicago. This was a high standard to meet and the Tampa location didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the fully loaded hotdog and I was instantly taken back to Chicago. Excellent service and everything the Portillo’s is known for. Enjoy!

1st time at Portillo's. All I can say is wow. The Portillo hot dog was awesome. The Maxwell Street Polish sausage was amazing. The chocolate eclair cake was out of this world. Everything had great taste, price is reasonable and great customer service. Joey V says, "I'll be back "

Portillo’s I think is the best restaurant ever! The food is amazing! And they have a large variety of desserts! I highly recommend the cheese sauce. Even tho it isn’t the cheapest restaurant ever, it sure is the best! Have to try it for yourself to believe 🤤🤤 (if you go at a off time you can sit inside with no one near you!)

Lots of parking. Large dining area that was neat and tidy. Our order was taken quickly and correctly, and the food came out perfect. We were very excited to see the Strawberry Lemon Cake shake still available as it wasn’t in other locations. It was so good! Really feels like any other Portillos you would go into in Illinois!

If i didn't have to leave a star to review I wouldn't. This is one of the worst food experiences since being in Tampa. I ordered the Italian beef and sausage combo. It is missing the sausage, cheese, gravy, peppers(which i paid extra for), and onions. This beef looks like it has already been chewed multiple times and tossed in a wrapper with the driest yet soggiest bun I have ever been served. Almost resembles canned dog food, I will be posting a picture. This looks like it has already been torn into by wolves. After asking for the hundredth time for the hot chili oil, I was given what looks like grease from a grease trap with a piece of jalapeno tossed in. When I gave this to my wife she nearly became sick just smelling it. My daughter's fish sandwich seemed to be okay but without wanting to take any chances we threw the whole meal away. Definitely will not be returning to this animal feed restaurant.

We love Portillos. I am from Chicago, and whenever we see one of these stores, we have to grab a wet beef and a Chi Dog. Food and service at this location were great.

Portillo’s straight from Chicago. Quick service, the cheeseburger is awesome! The only downfall is that you cannot get a combo, just order sides seperately that bumps up the price.

Reminds me of my childhood, growing up in Chicago, going to all the different themed Portillos restaurants with my mom & dad. Love this place! Staff was great and really engaged in the order placing/pick up process 😁

Great atmosphere, workers were somewhat friendly, the only problem I had was the food I got the fries were delicious with the cheese sauce but I got a steak and cheese croissant and the croissant was so soggy I couldn't even pick it up I had to eat it with a fork, it was very disgusting, I DO NOT RECOMMEND, they need to take it off the menu. It was my first and only time there, everyone else's food looked decent to be fair,

We made our first visit to a Portillo's and were not particularly impressed. The polish sausage was good, but the casing on the hot dog was so tough it was inedible. Fries were good, as were the onion rings. The chocolate cake was very good. Service was adequate for this type of restaurant. My drink (Sprite) had the distinct taste of cardboard so I traded it for a root beer (much better). Our overall impression of the restaurant was dark and a little rundown. We will not be in a hurry to go back.

Very cool atmosphere. Definitely takes you back and it's good to have restaurants that serve something different. Prices seem fare. Was clean and fast service

These are my favorite burgers and fries in the Tampa area! And the strawberry shortcake is delicious! The service is always friendly and welcoming. This is one of my "must haves" when visiting Tampa.

Visited this Portillo‘s location right around 11 AM not busy at all but still waited approximately seven minutes to receive my to go order. I saw approximately seven employees, most were just standing around. I posted some pictures of how I received my to go order. It wasn’t bagged up. But was told that “order number 104 is ready to go out the door “I asked for a bag and was just handed a bag, so I bagged my own order up, and also I didn’t get my side of gravy. The service that I received was very poor at this location. I spent $35 at this location. Food was good, but efficient friendly service is also important!!

First time being a Portillo's we got beef croissant and the big beef sandwich with fries and drink the beef was very Bland can't get into the mayonnaise or mustard packets unless your King Kong or the Hulk or the little girl behind the cash register and then she couldn't open it either so either way I give this place a three because the service was good great atmosphere just bland food other than that the tea was great the cokes were great people were friendly atmosphere was good but food wasn't so great will not recommend it to somebody you'll just have to taste as you come maybe not all food is the same

It took 15 minutes from my order at the drive thru to get my food. And…. The fries were cold. (There was only one car ahead of me). This place is always painfully slow, especially the drive thru. The staff aren’t friendly and barely speak. You sit at the window forever waiting and no one is there. What’s the point of having a person at the menu board when there’s virtually no cars. Clearly, they could be better used inside to speed things up. Very disappointed in everything here. I grew up on portillos and it was never like this.

Grabbed lunch with the kids. It was pretty empty and we ordered right away. Staff was very friendly and it all came out quick. The portions were pretty small though. We had to go back and order more because we didn't get full. Other than that it would have got a 4/5 rating.

Food was delicious. Service went above and beyond, but I want to hear more positivity coming from within the kitchen. Atmosphere is beautiful and gave me Disney vibes. Magical in there.

First time coming here. Big inside, not busy at the time we came like 9:30pm. Hot dog, Burgers and Fries. Salads and dessert. Burger was ok and fries. Cheese for the fries had a funny taste to it and the BBQ sauce also had a different taste then I'm use too. Service was quick and atmosphere was ok.

Awesome food but I've had "mixed" experiences here. First time visiting was perfect and we got everything in our order correct. Second time they forgot half of it (a salad that never got made) then handed it to me without bread....and everything just took a while. I'm guessing this was a training day :-P Either way, I still highly recommend this spot! Great Chicago style hotdogs and their chopped salad is AMAZING. Get em both.

Great service! Clean place. Employees are all decently satisfied, it seems. They all smile. They quickly notice you and ask if you need anything or a refill despite being super busy. Very polite. I didn’t like how flimsy the chili dog packaging was (we dined in but I mean what the chili dog came in). However, their good attitudes make up for it. Great service!

I have lived in Chicago for several years prior to moving to Tampa. My husband is your typical suburban Chicago guy who enjoys his beef sandwich. So yes, we indulged like fat people eating Al's, Portillo's and (insert famous Chicago beef sandwich places here) when we feel like we earned it, which is usually after we walked 5km with the dog. So when I aced my US citizenship interview in Tampa, what did we do? Celebrate at Portillo's like fat Americans that we are (ha, I am now an American!), ordered grand chocolate cake milk shakes that are around 1500 calories per drink, onion rings, fries, and beef sandwiches. It's just the price of freedom. Everything in this Portillo's is the same as with Chicago, even the onion rings and the yummy shake. But, I have to say, the beef sandwiches are too dry. In Chicago, no matter which branch you go to, if you order a dry beef sandwich, it will still be soggy enough to wet the bread. You bite into it and the sauce will explode in your mouth and melt with the beef. However, in Tampa's Portillo's, the beef sandwich is so dry, you taste the iron in the beef. It's sad. I certainly felt less American as there's less oil, less fat, and less calories enveloping my mouth in this particular Portillo's. I hope they improve it to Chicago's standard because I am willing to gain 30 pounds to get to eat those great sandwiches again.

Great place with great food that reminds me of Chicago. Their hotdogs were phenomenal along with their Italian beef sandwiches. And their chicken sandwiches aren't half bad. they also had amazing milkshakes and cake but no actual ice cream unfortunately. Loved the decor though. I do wish there were more of these then there currently is in the world.

Always a wonderful place to go with family. Me and my partner visited the day before Christmas eve, and we got some complimentary chocolate cake because our order was a tad tardy. Wonderful service and always a fun, inviting place to eat at. Polish street dog is A+ and great sides.

Traveling into Florida and found this place by passing. Food was absolutely amazing food experience. One of the staff was kind enough to share some of the history of the founder of Portillos and I was pretty intrigued and love hearing success stories such as this restaurant. Founded in the 60’s as a hot dog stand! The food was incredible and very well priced for the quality. Would definitely recommend. Music and atmosphere were applauded as well.
