I have purchased a firearm directly from them as well as had them handle an online transfer. Both times the staff was very helpful and polite. They even field stripped the handgun I was purchasing and upon finding it dirty, insisted on cleaning it even though I wasn't bothered. There was a couple there who seemed to be buying their first firearm and the guys spent a lot of time discussing their needs/wants and rather than trying to "sell" them something. They were actually listening to the customer's needs. I am surprised to see a one star rating by a guy ranting about not being able to buy a firearm without a Florida ID. A basic understanding of the law would tell you that you cannot purchase out of state unless you have an FFL. I guess he only gives stars to places willing to commit a felony sale or straw buy. Yes, the shop is small and you may need to wait a bit to be greeted if they are busy. Having been to many places that sell firearms I can tell you that it is not as common as you may think to find people who don't treat the potential buyer with disrespect or even contempt. I would feel comfortable sending a first time buyer here. Their prices are fair as well, very much in line with what you would pay ordering online+shipping/Transfer.

I usually have -okay- experiences here, more firearms than most pawn shops. The problem is, they'll try to sell you a used gun for around a hundred dollars MORE than MSRP. They also have refused to negotiate prices the last 2 times I've come, even though their location on Waters has never given me any problems doing such. I was not in a good mood after walking 5 miles to purchase something, only for them to ADD 100 dollars to it's MSRP. They're nearly doubling the price, and refusing to even go down at all. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I’ve gone to this establishment several times purchased from jewelry to guns! Attendants very knowledgeable and friendly. Staff listens to needs and are not out to just make a sale. I’ve recommended several friends to go there to purchase first firearms because the time the staff takes to make sure customers leaves happy with purchase and knowledge of use. Yes shop may be small but has a vast variety with excellent prices. Prior to purchasing I always check online and when you look at online and transfer/shipping your best off walking into A1 Pawn and Guns.. Have bought two and will be looking forward to my next purchase from them!!!

Rick is a great stand up guy and will treat you with respect and answer any questions you have for him! Highly recommend this shop for anything from antiques to jewelry.

Their customer service is a joke. My husband showed up at the time they opened about 1 week ago to buy bulk items and cars and he was first in line. Other customers came into the store and they completely ignored my husband, not knowing that he was there to spend nearly $1,000 for our 2 online stores as we needed mass inventory. Instead they focused on people who were looking to pawn and take their money versus us who wanted to actually spend money. Their store also looks disgusting and it looks like they havent cleaned in years. Wear a mask walking into this nasty location.

Very friendly and Knowledgeable about many guns and servicing of guns. The Gunsmith on sight is a wealth of knowledge And a Vet with real world experience! Did as review said talked with them and I bought a PA-63 9mm and a Remington 870 shotgun they knocked the asking price down for a deal. Fast background check and Made whole buying experience from start to Finnish very pleasurable. I will most deff be buying more guns from these guys. And i know that there Gunsmith can help if and issue's should arise with my weapons. Another satisfied American Gun Owner!!!

Absolutely fantastic prices, if you’re looking to buy a gun, look here first, laid back homey atmosphere and staff are very knowledgeable and courteous, frankly probably the best gun store in Tampa, couldn’t recommend more.

I bought an amplifier here w.o checking it out, because the store was pretty busy. The Guy told me I had a couple of days to use it, and if I didn't like it, to bring it back. I hooked it up at home, and it had only 1 channel working. The next day I took it back, and returned it w/o any problems. Very nice people at this store!

Guy is very unreliable talked on the phone with him confirmed I was coming he sent address I drove 40 miles to get to him for him to tell me he sold it a few minutes before I got there couldn't even call me to tell me pretty much laughed in my face
