This was life-changing and I don't think I'm being hyperbolic. Mead is something I usually enjoy mildly, whereas here I absolutely loved most of the 10 meads we sampled (8 from flights, 2 from the server's generous samples). Also the server was very helpful.

Wow! This place is amazing. I love mead and could not pass up the opportunity to pop in while I was in Tampa. Like many places, because of covid, it was to go only. You could purchase 100ml size sample bottles of mead and they had quite a selection! Their taproom was small with a nice rustic decor, proudly displaying their award winning mead. They have a great selection of merch like bottle openers, stickers, glassware, tshirts, hats and even jars of honey! The customer service was exemplary! Brian was very knowledgeable about the different types of mead and his recommendations were spot on! He made my experience even more enjoyable. Hopefully they will be open soon so we can sit in the taproom and enjoy the lovely ambiance and mead.

Got a flight with recommendations from the staff! Super delightful experience, especially since it was my first time tasting mead. Loved the unique flavors and elements to each drink. Definitely want to try more in the future. Limited parking, consider street parking and walking to the location!

This was a unique find this evening... I stopped in at a local Brewery and while there asked if they had any Mead. For those that don't know, Mead is a type of wine but fermented from honey rather than grapes or other fruits. He surprised me when he said yes about 50 yards away. Apparently just down an adjacent alleyway there was the entrance to Garagiste Meadery where they sell nothing but different types of Meads. This was my first time in there and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about how mead is made, something of which I've taken an interest in lately as I've started to brew my own. Anyway, they had about 15 varieties on tap and all of the ones that we tried were outstanding. But there's two things that I have to say detract a little bit from the overall appeal of this place. First, all of the meads are fairly complex in that they have several ingredients in them. While they do taste very good, sometimes you just want a plain mead with one flavor. For instance, just strawberry or just pineapple or something along those lines rather than three to four or five things mixed in. The other thing is that it is a little bit on the expensive side for sure. Two flights of mead was just shy of $60. But I'm glad that I stopped in. And I'm also glad that Mead is becoming a little more of a common drink these days. It's really good and if you haven't ever tried it, you definitely need to find it somewhere and give it a shot.

Mead is what i prefer over wine for dessert. These guys make only dessert mead and each and every one of them are fantastic. I couldn't pick one if i wanted too. A must visit spot considering there are almost no places in tampa bay which specialize in mead. The only complain being that its a tad bit pricey for a flight.

We break for mead spots. Such a unique product. The selection was extensive and expensive (as high acl mead can be) and the ones we selected were very sweet and port like. Service was meh, the bar was very small and full of locals. We sat at a table which was nice. Kid friendly spot as well. Pro Tip: Grab a board game and sip honey wine.

My son has recently started brewing his own mead and is really getting into it and enjoying the experience and the products he produces. He wanted to go to Garagiste Meadery, a very famous and highly rated meadery, for his birthday, so we went and chose the 15 Mead flight for $85. It was such a fun experience for all of us and we thoroughly enjoyed sampling, sipping, tasting each mead and comparing it to the others and trying to identify specific berries or ingredients in each one. They were all so very delicious and it was very hard to pick a favorite. I was so surprised at how much I enjoyed each one. I do remember the one with the peanuts that I particularly loved. We also played games while we were at the meadery sipping our mead and just talking and comparing our opinions on each one. It was such a fun experience and a truly memorable birthday celebration for my son and all of us. I'm sure it gave him something to compare his homebrew to and gave him some encouragement to try different ingredients and to refine and improve his processing.

Going to Tampa? This place is a must! I went not being a fan and left a convert. Chad knows his stuff and is a real talent. Visit and support this place you won’t be disappointed he is a true wizard of his craft.

I liked mead before coming here, but I was absolutely blown away with what the owners here have made. The mead here was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. Anyone who would give this anything less than 5 stars really doesn't understand the complexity of mead and how much of a labor of love it is to make, I can only imagine how huge of an endeavor it is to open a meadery and make a success of it. Also the 1 star reviews here are some of the most ridiculous nonsense I have ever seen and should be removed by Google. Keep up the good work and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Tampa.

From Chicago area. Visited Beer Bazaar in Grayslake and they had Garagiste's Hydra on tap. We knew the next time we visited Florida, we would be visiting Garagiste. Finally made it and worth every mile of the drive. If you can't find a mead that you enjoy here, you don't like mead. Our bartender was awesome! Incredibly knowledgeable and very patient answering all of our questions. What they do here is truly an art form and hope you appreciate the work, thought, and time that goes into making their product. Highly recommend, whether you're a local or tourist visiting any other part of the state! Thanks again for everything to our very awesome bartender!!

We decided to come here to try something new and change up our usual brewery scene. Their meads are amazing. I came in expecting something similar to Viking’s Blood, which I really don’t care for, and it’s nothing like it. These are dessert meads and they match the notes perfectly. We ended up getting two flights; They smell different from the taste and that’s a great surprise for me. The server, wish I caught his name!, was very informative and carried great conversations. This Meadery is located by Hidden Spring and a 5-10 minute walk from Armature works. If you like a background story of local places, looking for date night, or just checking out local brews, this would be a great option.

I recently visited Garagiste Meadery in Florida and had a fantastic time indulging in their delicious meads. It was a laid-back and enjoyable experience from start to finish. The meadery had a cool and relaxed vibe that instantly put me at ease. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to guide us through their selection of meads. They were knowledgeable about the different flavors and happy to answer any questions we had. Now, let's talk about the meads themselves. Garagiste Meadery offers a nice variety of options, and I appreciated the chance to sample different flavors. From traditional meads to more adventurous fruit-infused ones, there was something for everyone. The meads were flavorful, well-balanced, and made with quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed their BA Reboog Vitis (Rye) —it had a lovely sweetness that was refreshing and delightful. The meadery also had a cozy outdoor seating area where I could relax and enjoy my mead. It was a perfect spot to unwind with friends and soak up the pleasant atmosphere. The staff even provided recommendations for food pairings, which added an extra touch of enjoyment to the experience. In summary, Garagiste Meadery in Florida is a great spot to kick back, try some delicious meads, and enjoy a laid-back afternoon. The friendly staff, tasty meads, and relaxed ambiance make it a wonderful choice for both seasoned mead enthusiasts and those new to the mead scene. So grab some friends, head over to Garagiste Meadery, and get ready for a fun and relaxing mead experience!

Found this little gem just north of Downtown Tampa. Great variety of tasty meads. Around $29 for a flight of 4. Live music was there the night I was.

Super friendly service and just consistently amazing meads. There wasn't a single thing my husband and I tried that we'd be unhappy to have a bottle of in our house. We will definitely be having shipments to our place in OH when we are back home, and we won't hesitate to stop back in when we are in Tampa. Thanks for a great visit!

I came in here only knowing a bit about mead, but the bartender explained quite a bit to me and was able to make some great recommendations as we talked about what flavors I liked/disliked. I had a flight in order to try as many as possible. They also sell both small and large bottles, so I was able to take one home for my husband to try as well. Highly recommend!

I was in the area so I decided to swing by and check these guys out. Mead is typically sweet since the majority of the beverage's fermentable sugar is derived from honey. Garagiste Meadery is perfect for those who are in the mood for a more liquid dessert since their mead is on the super sweet end. I enjoyed the fruit based mead especially the ones with hints of vanilla. If you love sweet dessert wine but would like to go the mead option instead, swing by this meadery and they'll meet all of your needs! Cheers!
