Secret little rooftop bar hidden in the Tampa Midtown area. If you blink, you might miss the entrance located next to the hotel entrance. It may be self explanatory, but hit number 7 on the elevator to get to the top. The restaurant is super swanky inside but no reservations necessary for the outdoor bar area. The drinks are very reasonably priced and well crafted. The bar area has a ton of space and the views are great at sunset. Definitely recommend for a special date night.

Breath-taking views and a great rooftop dining option. The drinks and food were all delicious. The only flaw was the service. For a simple lunch, it took over 2 hours with 30 minute intervals for our waitress to return. The restaurant wasn't even full (only a handful of table outside were seated, and no one was seated inside). I've eaten in many places and I've never had service like I did here. All-in-all, the food, drinks and views were amazing.

Oh my goodness! We chose this restaurant to be together for my birthday & it did not disappoint! The chef Johnathan was the hostess with the most. He treated us like queens along with his friendly attentive staff. The view is amazing & the food was was over the top with flavor. I got the lamb & it was cooked to perfection. Not one of my friends had a single complaint. That is rare when you go out these days. From the drinks to the desert everything was amazing! It was the best birthday dinner out I have ever had! Hands down a must go to restaurant. If you haven’t been …. You must…. Thank you SAl y mar staff & chef we will be back. 🙏🏻

We took our good friend to a Birthday Brunch and had an awesome time! Shrimp and grits were phenomenal! Peach Bellini was delicious! Awesome outside view! Kayla was amazing, attentive, and personable.

This place is phenomenal. It's a nice laid back atmosphere. Food is worth the price. The staff is friendly. Drinks were awesome. Had a few different drinks, none of them bad. The view on from the roof top is just nice to see and kick back and chill. Even the Valets who aren't part of the restaurant were cool. Must go place! Especially if you have good company.

Walked in at 1 pm and was asked if we had a reservation we told her no. So she starts looking at her iPad for tables and tells us “okay i can put you on a wait for an hour. We have reservations at 2 pm” so we sat at the bar, although there were a million open tables without the reservation signs on them. I ordered the chip trio and the salsa was literally out of jar not homemade. Taste like Tostitos. The cheese was also jarred not homemade. The guac was mashed avocados and that’s it with a lime. For 15 dollars this is so disappointing that the chef can’t even make salsa or guacamole. Too over priced for jarred items. I will not be returning to this place ever. It sucks because the atmosphere is so nice but the service and food quality are poor.

We recently visited Sal Y Mar for my husbands birthday with a group of friends and had an absolutely wonderful experience, which moved me to write a review. My husband and I eat a very particular diet (by choice) and don’t typically go to non vegan restaurants because there just aren’t any options for us to enjoy. I reached out to the restaurant prior to our reservations and heard back from Armando who was a bigger help than I could’ve imagined! He truly went above and beyond to answer all of the questions pertaining to the menu that I had and even took it upon himself to further explain particular ingredients used in certain dishes on the menu. He described in detail how the food was prepared and even provided options just for us for the night we were there. He even greeted us at the door to confirm to us face-to-face that our food would not be cross contaminated that night! The vibe at Sal Y Mar was exactly what we were looking for on that night-open air, good music, and all around good vibes. But it truly was Armando taking it upon himself to create a personalized experience for us that will have us going back. We know we can be difficult when eating out and we do not expect any place to cater to us so we usually eat at home first and then just get some drinks when we go out. Armando made us return customers and we look forward to going back for other occasions in the future. I’ve eaten at restaurants across the world and have never had someone take such initiative to ensure our happiness. I can’t thank you enough Armando, truly!

First time at this restaurant! The manager, Isabel was very attentive and professional. Her interaction with the staff and checking on patrons was impeccable!! Our server Ellie had a vibrant personality and bubbly smile! She was knowledgeable on popular cocktails and great recommendations on the food menu. The view of the city was an added bonus!! We will be back for sure! Thanks

The spot is really well maintained, spacious, well lit or much, its a huge venue. The downfall is a combination of a slow service. The price of the food are extremely high given its quality. Same opinions were shared among my peers and many decided not to return. The potential is there, but the quality of the food and drinks must be better. Obviously it is my opinion but given the many restaurants in Tampa its quite easy to recognize where this spot is lacking. Hope they can improve on the food taste, drinks quality/ quantity, and overall price. For the price im expecting almost perfection and very high quality food and service. My group of 8 plus me Def expected more. Awesome venue though.

Beautiful view, great food and drinks but slow service. Hostess and waitress by the entrance on their phone. When we got to the restaurant there was only 3 tables taken our waitress was very nice and friendly but super slow when giving us our drinks he took forever. We waited a very long time for our food and it’s fine because we ordered a tomahawk but either way they took forever to bring it out my husband it’s a chef so I know it should have not taken that long when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. The table next to us was only having drinks and appetizers and they ended up leaving because of the service was too slow. When we order the tomahawk we were told the chef would bring it out but come to find out it was just the manager and there is nothing wrong with that but I was expecting a more professional looking person.

Rooftop bar is hands down the best Tampa experience. Drinks were good, a little pricy but so is fine dining. We went when it was really windy, so take a coat, this bar is on the 7th floor of the element hotel. Getting there was kinda hard but when we found it, it was great.

The place is beautiful. Servers are very attentive and the atmosphere is super chill. The drinks were on point but the food made me sad. Very poor menu unlike it used to be with the prior chef. Will never go back to eat but will definitely go back to have drinks with friends.

I stayed at Element for two weeks and loved Sal y Mar. It’s breathtakingly beautiful with modern bougie vibes. The crab cakes were delicious, jalapeño margarita and old fashioned were my favorites. Beautiful pool, furniture, great tunes and all around classy vibe.

Beautiful atmosphere! The staff was great, very courteous and friendly. The brunch menu has not many options to choose from but all of our meals were delicious. The avocado toast was excellent! Will definitely be back to try the dinner menu (already have reservations for later this month)

Excellent atmosphere with the tulum Mexico vibes. Bird best swing chairs along with great food makes it a must go too!! Service was fantastic and the staff accommodating to everything we asked for. Ask for the chef’s special of the day and let her decide what’s she is going to make!

The restaurant itself is beautiful but that's about all that impressed my party and me. The food and drinks were extremely expensive and the service was very slow. For the money that I spent, I expected the food to be better and my table to be maintained. It took the staff about 15 minutes to check on us after we were seated and there were only a couple other tables there. There is potential to make this a really nice place, but not a place I'll be returning to.

Went during the weekday. Absolutely loved being the only ones there. Great wine, amazing food and a beautiful view.

The atmosphere was fantastic. The chicken and waffles were enjoyable; the chicken was perfectly seasoned. However, the waffle was a bit too crispy for my liking—I prefer them more fluffy.

Came for a dinner with friends. The cocktails were delicious, the ambiance was a beach upscale feel. The food was different but tasted nice. I was really impressed by their charcuterie board, it had a great assortment of meats and cheeses. Their key lime pie was also a large slice and paired well with their coconut ice cream. I will say that they are a tad bit overpriced for the food but the atmosphere, ambiance, and roof top bar were really what you paid for.

The vibe is casual and inviting in this rooftop restaurant and bar. Offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor has some good views of the nearby attractions. Steak salad was fresh and had a nice lite dressing in it. Steak was tender but a little difficult to cut through without a steak knife. Inside tables are small cross sections of tree trunks which look great but can make it difficult to balance and manage your plate and drinks on. Interior is well designed and would be a great date night option.

Great place, however, $58 for 3 small scallops and 3 ravioli is way overpriced. It should be at most half of this price.

Vibrant atmosphere with rooftop views. It's definitely an instagrammable place. The food was okay, not great. The alcoholic beverages were not that strong either, but they were rich with flavor. The cucumber fresco cocktail was refreshing. Would explore again for a different experience.

Honestly love how warm and energetic the outside bar is on the weekends! From the atmosphere to the drinks and music was just absolutely amazing. I do wish I could have had some yucca fries - the kitchen not being open later is what upset me the most but took a turn when I ordered a drink! MARK is the most amazing bartender- from his warm customer service skills and his charismatic smile plus his accent to his TOP TIER drinks! Marks espresso martini was to die for so I had 3! ( very handsome) he made it an experience to remember and I will come back with my friends! LOVE YOU MARK! p.s. he’s a GREAT hire!

I had a great time. A very friendly atmosphere with a blend of the old and the new. My server learned my name upon introduction and used it. The food was tasty, healthy and plenty. And the drinks were also great. The bar staff was outstanding, they really knew their stuff. We literally partied for a few hours and had a blast for less than three hundred dollars. An all around very nice weekend away in Tampa, Florida. Thanks Sal Y Mar 👍

It was not ideal for a group. it was very difficult to accommodate our wedding party of 14. (Even with reservations) we sat at 9:30 and received our food at 10:45. Inside bar closed at 11pm so where only able to get a glass of wine with dinner before we had to go outside. (It was kinda drizzling outside) the food was highly overpriced for the food size and taste. Our table ordered, Tomahawk 4 steaks (only 2 where available) they also ran out of broccoli. We had Sea bass, crab cakes, and fried yucca. Everything tasted just ok. They did offer us a dessert for the inconvenience. THE KICKER! $45 dollar charge to bring a small cake for the celebration. Even if you cut it yourself. Even if you take it outside to the patio. Even if you just open the box to take pictures and put it back. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Decor was delightful. Nice for a romantic date, nice outdoor vibes. Inside is way too crowded.

Charnae was our server, she was friendly, explained the menu and all the recommendations she gave us were amazing, we had the pork belly, burrata and tuna tartar from the appetizers and for dessert the bread pudding! Everything was amazing! The cocktails were good! The view is super but near the sunset because it was raining.

Tried the BLT - pretty good and good portion for the $15; tried tuna tartare - it was ok but you’d finish it in like 3-4 bites; friend tried chicken & waffles - it was a chicken wing with half a waffle & stacked like a sandwich, and you’d finish it in a few bites. Point is - don’t think you’ll leave full coming here for brunch. The mimosas were awesome and the rooftop location/ambiance, but the food - 👎🏽. This is allegedly a Spanish place but the food had nothing to do with Spain just random stuff placed on the menu

Sal Y Mar is a great place for drinking, hanging out and great ambiance... Food wise woooowzers I was truly truly disappointed we had ordered all expensive meals chef special, cowboy 16oz, chicken all..(NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!) This made me so angry! The appetizer was better than the food. The drinks absolutely on Point! Loved it! Waitress I had tried her best but wow no utensils for food, no interactions, idk & I can't. But 1 positive thing I can say is the HOSTESS was better than anyone there came to us like 3 or 4 times... she deserves 5 stars. Like I said drinks 100%, The food SUCKS!!! What's funny is looks great but tastes horrible! Smh SAL Y MAR!

The food and drinks here are amazing. If you’re looking for a place with great personable service, and a bright moody atmosphere, this is definitely it. I was wary because of the old reviews but new management has really revitalized this place! Definitely recommend.

This place is gorgeous and the view is amazing! We came without a reservation and we thought we were not going to be able to eat here but they squeezed us in. It took awhile to get a server but once we got one, he was awesome! He made sure that he knew names and what each one wanted to order. Reggie (Chris Rock) was very attentive to us and make sure everything came out on time and good. Thank you Reggie for your great service!!
