Beautiful and historic location to bring the family on a DA vacation or for locals to reminisce on Dominica’s past. Well maintained, very walkable, and a tremendous view.

Very interesting fort and nature area, with well tended paths for hiking. Be sure to check out the Douglas battery, not just the main restored area of the fort. It's in disrepair, with vines and trees covering the masonry structures. Not often you see a 250 year old cannon lying on the ground, with the British crown seal on it! Really amazing, eerie sights. Highly recommended!

The buildings are in great condition, the educational signs were faded and hard to read. We could not find hours that there would be staff and buildings open. Nice small hikes and view of Portsmouth.

Fantastic national park on a peninsula consisting of two peaks. Great for hiking, several points of historical interest (Fort Shirley and the east and west batteries, as well as the ruins of the commandant’s residence and other buildings). Lovely nature. Beautiful views. And a cafe at the parking area. Highly recommended as a highlight of Dominica, where nature and views are plentiful but well-preserved historical sites are often not.

Nice national park near Portsmouth, trails are fairly easy, nice view of the town from the East Cabriys Trail.

Do walk the trails! The fort is absolutely worth the visit, and the trails are simply "very natural". The view from the trails are absolutely breathtaking. After you do the trails and visit the fort, do enjoy the beaches close by!

We had a wonderful private tour of the fort, learned a lot. Fort has been restored and is well worth the visit
