Editing
my
review
and
taking
off
two
stars.
This
building
is
under
a
new
management
company
as
of
January
1st,
2021.
Which
coincidentally
is
the
day
after
we
moved
out.
The
new
company
is
called
Pacific
Living
Properties
and
is
a
mega-corporation
based
in
California.
If
you
look
at
their
site
-
they
manage
hundreds
of
properties
and
have
clearly
made
a
ton
by
hiking
up
rent
up
and
down
the
west
coast
and
apparently
in
Montana
as
well.
I
knew
that
we
were
going
to
have
a
delay
in
getting
our
security
deposit
back
because
of
the
change
over
and
I
didn't
mind
because
we
understood
it
was
under
new
management
and
the
property
manager
was
probably
busy.
I
sent
an
email
the
day
we
moved
out
with
our
forwarding
address
as
well
as
included
it
in
our
intent
to
vacate
notice
sent
and
we
confirmed
that
our
forwarding
address
was
updated
in
our
file
that
would
be
transferred
to
the
new
company.
A
month
went
by
which
is
when
I
started
to
wonder
why
we
hadn't
received
and
email
or
any
kind
of
update.
WA
State
law
states
that
landlords
have
21
days
to
either
send
you
your
deposit
or
notify
you
that
they
will
be
witholding
part
of
the
deposit.
I
emailed
them
again
-
letting
them
know
this
-
and
they
responded
that
they
didn't
have
our
forwarding
address
but
they
sent
it
to
our
old
address
(the
unit
we
vacated...
At
the
building
we
just
moved
out
of).
Which
I
thought
was
interesting
but
whatever
because
I
enabled
mail
forwarding.
Two
more
weeks
go
by
-
nothing.
I
contact
them
again
asking
them
the
status
and
they
say
they
don't
know
so
I
asked
have
their
corporate
office
(in
California)
reissue
a
check
and
cancel
the
one
they
sent
previously
(which
never
did
show
up
by
the
way...).
They
obliged
and
sent
another
-
which
we
actually
got
pretty
quickly.
Then
a
lot
of
confusion
ensued
on
their
part
if
that
was
the
original
check
or
the
live
one.
Mind
you
-
there
was
never
any
mention
of
us
being
charged
for
anything
this
entire
time
so
you
can
imagine
my
surprise
when
I
opened
the
check
to
see
they
had
taken
$150
of
the
$300
deposit
for
carpet
cleaning
and
cleaning.
The
apartment
was
perfect
aside
from
the
knick
out
of
the
flooring
in
the
kitchen
that
was
there
when
we
moved
in
and
was
annotated
on
our
move
in
inspection
luckily.
When
I
tell
you
that
apartment
was
spotless
-
I'm
telling
you
it
was
cleaner
than
it
had
ever
been.
I
absolutely
loved
that
apartment
and
it
was
really
an
emotional
experience
to
leave.
I
found
cleaning
it
for
the
last
time
completely
cathartic
and
used
the
time
to
reminisce
and
give
the
place
some
love.
While
living
there
-
I
did
deep
cleaning
weekly,
as
well.
Every
inspection
we
ever
had
while
living
there
(at
least
annually)
would
get
notes
written
on
it
that
would
say
"extremely
clean,"
"spotless,"
etc.
With
pics
and
docs
to
prove
it.
The
new
company's
policy
is
apparently
to
charge
everyone
that
moves
out
a
cleaning
and
carpet
cleaning
fee
-
no
matter
the
state
of
the
apartment
unless
you
hire
professional
and
give
them
the
receipt.
That
WAS
NOT
indicated
anywhere
in
any
of
the
previous
leases
we
signed
with
the
old
company.
We
never
signed
a
single
shred
of
paper
with
this
new
company's
name
on
it
but
I
guess
they
still
feel
entitled
to
taking
money
from
working
people
to
increase
their
profit
margins
on
some
of
the
only
affordable
housing
that
was
left
in
that
area.
It's
not
about
the
money
they
took.
It's
the
principle
of
the
thing.
I
should
say
this
isn't
to
knock
the
on-site
property
manager
or
maintenance
(Richard
is
the
best)
-
just
the
company's
policies
and
practices.
Original
review
when
Dobler
managed
the
property:
My
wife
and
I
have
been
living
here
since
October
2015
and
we
have
no
plans
to
leave
any
time
soon.
This
building
is
in
a
great
location.
It
is
within
walking
distance
of
Fred
Meyer,
Target,
many
restaurants,
the
Lacey
Transit
Station
and
more.
The
current
leasing
office
maintenance
staff
is
awesome.
They
are
available,
understanding,
and
helpful.
The
apartment
layouts
are
nice
and
many
of
the
units
have
walk-in
closets.
Parking
is
bad
late
at
night.
Great
place
to
live.
