I've been super excited about the park opening, it's nice to not only have the Hawks Prarie location to take our dogs. Lots of great space to run around, parking is so so though. I wish they would have put a water spigot for the dogs and a garbage can inside, not just in the gated area. A couple obstacle events or tunnels would be great as well for the dogs. A port a potty would be fabulous as well, but if the idea is to have people stay till they need to use a restroom it works. I give a 4 only because of the lack of bathroom/port a potty or water for the dogs. But overall a great new spot and local area we can walk to from our house if we so wanted!

Nice open field with lots of friendly big dogs. Only issue is lack of running water for our thirsty furry pals.

This is a lovely grassy area that is fenced for dogs to romp around in. My Louie had a great time here, and its so much closer to home than the one in hawks Prarie. Bring your own water for your dog though as there doesnt appear to be a water source available. Parking can be tight also. Walk there if you can.

Great park! Lots of space for your fur-babies to run. Has a separate area for larger dogs. We absolutely love it!

My boy could finally behave himself here. What a relief. Peaceful place indeed. No restrooms, could not find where they were finding fresh water for all the bowls around. I had wanted to rinse my muddy boots. Great place and will go again.

I really liked that there were two separate areas for the dogs. One area for big dogs, or dogs that are good at socializing, and another area for small dogs, senior dogs, or simply dogs that are a bit timid. This was great since one dog I have is old and not super social, and the other one is very young and pretty shy. Both areas were a good size for the pups. 🐶

Such a great local dog park. Not muddy at all! Would be great if they added water for the dogs

Great park, especially when Olympia previously only had one to choose from. This one has trees for shade. There are no agility items, just a nice open field to play fetch in or let your dog run with other doggos. No running water so there were jugs of water to use, not sure how often water runs out so maybe bring your own. Also bring your own poo bags.

First visit to the new dog park at Ward Lake. Thanks to the City of Olympia for creating this and the other two new dog parks. Now just needs a couple of picnic tables and a portapotty and it will be perfect.

It's a dog park. Big fenced area with lots of dogs. Great place to let your dog run like a maniac so they will go home and sleep. Other than chatting with other dog owners, there isn't much else

I guess some people think that this is a doggie daycare. Today I learned that owners sit in their cars while their dog runs free inside the dog park. The park is nice. Most of the people here are friendly and care a lot about their dogs. My favorite part is the walking path that circles the large breed park. There is seating available if needed. I would not recommend bringing small children with you to this dog park.

I've been here several times and really like it. I usually take mine to the small dog area and have seldom come across poop as is mentioned in the other reviews. The big dog area is huge so that must be where the problem is. Getting here is the problem for me as I have to take the 3rd exit at the roundabout and try to avoid being hit by the people cruising down Yelm Hwy NOT yielding to me but otherwise I recommend this park. As an added bonus there are fruit trees here, lots of Italian plum trees full of fruit, apple trees, pear tree and I think there's a fig tree on the small dog side. I've not explored the big dog side far enough to see what types of trees they have there. Bring your dog, pick up your dogs poop and have fun The photo isn't a great one but it gives you a hint of how large the small dog side is.

I love having a safe place to let the dog run and play with other dogs. It really depends on people cleaning up and keeping aggressive dogs out of the mix. Remember adult swim? Not the TV show but the lame hour when the pool was closed to kids. There should be a mean dog hour at the park. Thank you to the people who think to bring water!

At last a local place to let our mutated wolves run free. There is no place to sit and relax with your latte while you watch your dog cram in some butt smelling, nor is there shade. When it rains you and your dog will emerge muddy. A seat cover is necessary for the vehicle. About 99% of the owners pick up after their dogs. Poo bags are provided...so there is no excuse. There are two sections, one for smaller and more delicate dogs and a larger area for the boisterous. Tennis balls abound except after the area is mowed, then tennis ball debri abounds. There is a communal water bowl, bring your own water.

Great park! Two separate areas for big and little dogs. Plenty of open space for dogs to run wild. One star removed for no water spigot to fill water bowls and limited parking area.

PSA: Please stop bringing your energetic children to the dog park. My dog is afraid of kids who are high energy/running/throwing balls to one another that are meant for the dogs. It's super lame that y'all expect dogs to not be in your children's school grounds, or park areas, but think it's appropriate to use dog parks as playgrounds for your kids. I don't have kids, please stop forcing yours on others unless they're in a Calm state and Know not to run at dogs. My dog loves this park. Generally speaking, respectful crowd, stocked poo bags, folks bring out jugs of water which is great, shadey spots for dogs and people.

Very nice park well kept with friendly customers. Could use a water source and a porta potty for owners but overall a good place to take pets!

Lots of people seem to come to the park whether the weather is cold and wet or hot and dry so I'd say it's not the worst park. it's big and full of dogs if that's what you're looking for.

Great area for dogs to run. Other dog owners were real people with real expectations of dog behavior. Only basic amenity missing is a human rest room. Parking lot is small so walk there if you can or avoid peak times.
