We stayed here on our drive through to VIC. We booked it last minute with ease. The staff were friendly and the office was open until 8:30 for our later check in. The room was slightly on the smaller side compared to other motels we've stayed in however it was really clean and comfortable. The RSL is a convenient 5 min walk with a standard pub meal menu with the additional Asian influenced meals which were pleasant. It had a small playground for the kids to stretch their legs too. Overall we were happy to stay here again at such an affordable rate.

We had a VERY noisy neighbour on our first night. Mentioned this to the management next morning. They bent over backwards to help us avoid this for the remainder of our stay. Moved us to another room and apologised profusely, even though it wasn't their fault the people were so noisy. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed. Would return again.

Great place to pull in when you're on the move. It was quiet at night, and the rooms were alright. They weren't that busy the night I stayed, so they gave me a free upgrade.

It may be a bit old, but the beds are comfortable, and it is like the old way with a bar in your room with snacks and beer and wine and soft drinks at a really good price. The staff are friendly, and it is within walking distance to the RSL which it has the best food around. What more do you need to stay a night to get where you are traveling? Highly recommend.

Took a last minute booking and were happy to put a fold out bed in the room because we had five people. Very friendly and helpful!!

Not the flashiest of places but the room was tidy and clean, the owners lovely, friendly and helpful. The location was quiet and peaceful not far from the Pacific Motorway (I couldn't hear the traffic) and it was a short walk to the water's edge. I'd go back again

A great little motel and a cute little town close to the highway. Great stop over on the drive from the south coast to the north. Good quality clean rooms with lovely service. Family room with 2 double beds was the perfect size for our family of 4. Even has a selections of beers, wine and snacks for purchase in rooms like the good old pre Covid days. We’ll definitely be back!

Great find paid $115 the rooms were super clean, quite even had a mini bar. Free Wi-Fi which was fast enough to stream Netflix. Great meal at the RSL down the road and good breakfast and coffee opposite the RSL. IGA across the road of motel.

After spending $165.00 for a lower quality Motel in Holbrook, this motel was luxurious and only $135 for a similar twin option, queen and single. It has ALL the usual items toiletries, hairdryer, coffee and plunger, and so on even a stocked bar fridge. The room was fresh, clean and of a generous size. Situated approx 50km north of Newcastle, Karuah is a lovely place. I'd recommend a stopover here on your travels.

The room was clean and comfortable with some nice decorating touches. Parking was well layed out. Host was friendly and helpful. The position is great... Right near the local services club and also near a Riverside rest area(I recommend visiting the rest area it's peaceful and pretty). Cheers

IGA and bottlo across the road, 24hr BP just down the road and newly renovated RSL 2 min walk Room is clean with good sized fridge, a comfortable couch, and good shower There is also room to park a rigid truck near the front. Even has a mini bar with snacks and free plunger coffee

Friendly Staff Air conditioned Rooms were Modern & immaculately clean. King Size Bed was firm but comfortable. Dressing Robes on offer. Location is great. Walking distance to Karuah RSL & there is a lovely Cafe across the road. I will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic little motor inn, conveniently located far enough off the hi way ,so you can't hear traffic, but on a loop road, so you can easily get back on. Good bed, clean bathroom. Short walk to RSL for dinner.

Quite nice place to stay ...35 to 40 min drive from Nelson bay ..rooms are tidy and clean beds are comfortable ..air conditioned..you get beers chocolates chips ..value for money you git rsl and few good resturants at walkable distance...

Stayed 4 nights at Karuah Motor Inn on recent road trip of NSW holiday coast. Chose Karuah for it’s central location between Newcastle, Nelson Bay & Myall Lakes tourist attractions and it worked fantastically. Hotel is spotlessly clean, quite, has large rooms, barbecue area and friendly helpful staff and within walking distance to RSL.

Had a great stay here. The rooms are nice, clean, bed was good .... and 2 min from the local RSL which has great food ... make sure you go as well worth it. As a stop over I'll definitely use again

Rooms are a little small, and maintenance is needed here and there. Otherwise quiet, and comfortable.

The inn is exactly as you’d expect from the photos; clean, neat, comfortable and basic. You’ll be meeted by a very friendly man at reception. There’s a nice rsl nearby with uncomfortable bright tl-light and loud raffles, but food is tasty and affordable. Though both bakery’s were closed for unknown reasons, we’ll be back!

Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The amenities are modern and in a good, working condition. Certainly feel like we got value from this accomodation

Very easy to book direct with them. Room was really really clean (esp bathroom, even curtains), which is just so nice to walk into. There is the usual offer of tea, coffee, biscuits etc - but here a coffee plunger and fresh grounds is added, even a sort of mini bar - just want you want to relax with after a long drive. Dinner is easy to source from the restaurant at the RSL (five minutes walk away) and there is a pizzeria close by too (I haven't tried). Then to sleep in good comfortable bedding. Room service breakfast is yummy and hot. Good hot showers. Friendly owners. I have had a different room each time and can see they are well maintained. There is a nice rest area on the waterfront (below the RSL) for stretching the legs - Karuah is a very pretty and quiet spot.

Stayed Wednesday night. Must be new owners have stayed many times before it was always great. Not this time. Went to club for dinner, came back for showers. No hot water. Went to reception, was told all the guests must have had showers at the same time to wait half an hour and try again. Bed was like sleeping on a brick. No hot water in the morning either. Extremely disappointed . Room 3.
