Best place in Jambiani! Chef very open to guests, showed us some great kitchen tricks. Food always very fresh, we ate lobsters that had to be ordered in advance. We have eaten 6 times at the panyopa and have always been satisfied. On the last evening, Joseph organized a campfire on the beach with a barbecue especially for us and it was the best party! greetings from Poland, see you next year !!

We tried 5 different dishes and they were all amazing. One of the best restaurants we visited in Zanzibar. Chef Josh is an amazing host, explains a lot and clearly knows his profession. Zuri sana! 👌

We were promised the best restaurant in town, and Panyopa did not disappoint! The food is absolutely delicious and super fresh. I highly recommend the coconut crusted fish with fries - so good! The octopus curry is great, too! I‘m sure everything else is amazing as well!

Panyopa was our first interaction with a local restaurant and really set the bar high. The food was always delicious and well prepared and the people working there were always kind and helpful. The prices are fair and the food was always fresh. We tried as many items from the menu as we could and we were always impressed by the taste. We stayed at 2wazungu Beach Bungalows accommodation which is right next to this place and Panyopa was our go-to place to eat or order. Panyopa is a great place to experience the local cuisine and to relax and enjoy your meal right on the beach. I strongly recommend it!

The place to go. Chef will cook for you the best local food, sometimes with an original twist. You will wait for the food long enough for it to be made with care and love. You will learn the latest local suahili slang greetings. In the meantime you will enjoy the ocean view. Give this place a try, it's possible you will love it.

Josh is a really good and friendly owner/cook We ate fish cakes and tuna omelet style, with chips He always asked if it's good but I thing he knew since our plates were empty We definitely go one more time before we leave

Josh runs a very small yet really nice restaurant. Simple menu but made with love. Fresh and homemade sea food and fish was on the menu for us. Josh was very concerned about us enjoying the experience too and asked multiple times how we liked everything. The only thing that needs an upgrade is the bathroom but we will overlook that due to the otherwise outstanding experience!

The food here is delicious! The owner and employees are very kind and hard working, making sure all guests have everything they need. It is situated right on the beach, making it the perfect place for meals or just a cold beer. The prices are very reasonable and the menu is varied, you can find here authentic food, which is always fresh and extremely tasty! Be sure to try it out.

We had our best meals at Josh. All delicious!Never had such strong avocado juice before. We asked for a soup as well - which is not on the menu - and that could have been the one that we cook at home.

Food is super fresh!! Josh cooks everything on the spot… even the coco milk he prepares it on the spot for every meal. The food has the taste of the hard work and love he and his cooks put on it. Very recommended if you want to have a local great meal at a reasonable price in a simple place in front of the beach.

Very good restaurant on the beach. It was right next to our beach house, so we ate there every lunch and dinner. The samosa are amazing, also the coconut crusted fish (17000 TSH) was a favorite. Highly recommended!

We visited at a quiet time between lunch and dinner, so the chef took his time to show us the process of preparing our dish, which was a traditional family recipe. Perfect octopus, fresh and flavorful.

I was today there and I had chips with calamari and it was delicious. Even if the location is not very fancy, more local, the food worthed. The chef was very nice and friendly and the food come to the table about 40 minute. Affordable price. Highly recommended!

We went there twice for dinner. The food was awesome. If we would have stayed longer, we would go again. The service is nice and the prices are fair and cheap compared to the other restaurants/hotels nearby. You might need to plan a little extra time, because the cook the food freshly.

Every single thing we tried on the menu is delicious! Best food & honest prices We visited every day on our week stay over the road then even came back a few more time after moving locations.. Great spot for enjoying a beer while watching beach activities and then filling your belly with amazing octopus, hand made chips, fish samosas yum-yum They have a fire on the beach after sunset and offer cooking class too... They made us feel like family and looked after us well... highly recommend honestly the best place on the island...
