Best experience ever! Our walking safari guide hemed tracked down a family of 13 giraffe that we got very close too! We also got very close to the Cape buffalo, many warthogs and zebras. Everything was living in harmony. He also hiked to a waterfall. Worth every penny! I don’t know why this place isn’t more talked about we had such a great experience

Nice National Park to spend a day. Not far from Arusha town. It’s been said is a nice place to see elephants but I was not lucky at all when I went…not even one. You can find the black-and-white colobus monkey. Also a lot of giraffe, zebras and buffaloes. You can find also leopards and flamingos among others

The walking Safari was great fun! I would recommend it any day. To see buffalo, giraffes, baboons and warthogs up close and personal is an experience for itself. We got a chance to see a rare albino baboon and some flamingos too!

Beautiful little park for a unique safari! Best giraffe encounter! One of the best safaris for monkeys and birds. No predators here :) Go with Albert from Winnie’s Adventure! He is the best!

Arusha National Park is a relatively small National Park that covers Mount Meru. It is close to the town of Arusha. The views are very beautiful. We saw hundreds or possibly thousands of Flamingos and many giraffes and zebras. Did not see elephants. Enjoyed the game drive and the scenery.

Wasn't lucky enough to see elephants, we were told they're deeper in the forrest. We did see zebras, baboons, giraffes and a bunch of flamingos. Weather was kind of chilly early in the morning, but sun came up around noon. Even though there were a lot of safari cars at the entrance, once you start driving, they get spread out around the park. The guides keep in touch with each other so they can share best sighting sites.

New building slow process Great entrance with clean bathrooms Lots of people want to sell you stuff while you waiting for your bus which is annoying. They give you visa on the spot. I wish there was a cafe inside for a coffee break while waiting. Kenya and Tanzania kiosks are side by side. If you are on a shuttle bus, you need to take all your luggage off and through the security check but you are not required if you are in a private car or a taxi.

The rainforest around the crater is amazing, but don't expect a lot of animals there, mostly they are very far away. After that park i went to Tarangire and i was overwhelmed from the amount of animals, the large size of the park. Viewing back in my opinion Arusha national park isn't worth the entry compared to what you can see in Tarangire. We went to both parks with a private vehicle.

Arusha National Park was really fun. It is conveniently located close to the city. It is an ideal choice for people with limited time but want to have a full safari experience. Both game drive and walking safari are possible. Private cars are allowed inside the part with a tour guide. Many thinga to see inside including birds, three Momela soda lakes, many different animals, a waterfall and streams and different kinds of vegetation.

Expensive entrance fee 53$, map for a location 15$ which you must pay cash only. Some roads were blocked with a trees. 🤔 Beautiful nature, forest and crater.

Do not waste your time and money ($116 for 2 people for 1 day!) If you are going to tarangire, serengeti, ngorongoro or like park later. It had plenty of animals on the close to entry place, on a plato, than only flamingos. Park is small and it's too close to city and it has mountain in it. That's why it's has not abundant wildlife. Animals don't like mountain, they like savannah. Our car stuck in this park, you need 4 wd to feel confident. Kruger is WAY better. And cheaper. Tarangire is better too. But not cheaper. Good luck!

What an incredible experience! The only thing I wanted to see but couldn't were the elephants (because it was too hot). Other than that, seeing all the animals so close yet fully in their habitat was completely out of this world! I recommend for sure

basically four communities lives here Maasai, WaArusha, WaMeru & WaChaga The Mount Meru Area was formerly occupied by Maasai pastoralists before the end of XIX century and many of places names are of Maasai Origin. The Meru are Bantu speaking people who migrated to Mt. Meru from Western Kilimanjaro and from the Usambara area in the XVII century. The WaArusha people arrived in the area later than WaMeru. In 1830 they settled west of the present Arusha town, they absorbed Maasai speaking people into their tribe and became Maasai speakers themselves. Comes to WaChaga, they are Bantu speakers who started recently to migrate to Mt. Meru from the neighbouring Mt. Kilimanjaro

Great for Mt. Meru climbers combining a walking Safari. Advice: 1. insist on walking through the animal part and not the fig tree. Amazing to have a walking safari as you start and end the climb. 2. If you know you are good with 3500 elevation consider sleeping in Saddle Hut 2 nights. This way you walk out on 4th day 13 km 2000 meter elevation drop (instead of 21km, 1000 up and 2000 meter down on climb day). 3. We opted for 4 a.m. wakeup, 5 a.m. start, 6:30 sunrise at Rhino point and then 10:30 summit. Two adults, 2 thirteen year olds. Park tries to group groups with a single ranger, then often force you to take fig tree route which is a 4wd track with some vehicles crossing you and no animals. Consider a private one for 100 dollars then you are flexible.

Arusha National Park is located in Tanzania and encompasses diverse landscapes, including Mount Meru, Momela Lakes, and Ngurdoto Crater. It's known for its rich biodiversity, featuring a variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy activities like hiking, wildlife viewing, and bird watching. The park provides a scenic introduction to Tanzania's natural beauty and is often overlooked in favor of larger parks like Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

So I'm passing through this border service place. Here is the good, it's clean, the people are fairly friendly, they have security machines to help the process go a bit faster. The bad, disorganized , unnecessary line ups due to confusion. A simple start here sign: STEP 1, then step 2 etc. They also have a lot of staff, that does not lead people. Needless to say proper management of traffic flow is needed to speed things up, a 1hr hold up, can be simply resolved by having signs or staff to great and direct people. Hopefully this small steps can be taken to increase efficiency and better service.

Enjoyed this NP. Have to admit that it was our first park so we were in awe but now that we've visited 4 other parks now, we realize that Arusha NP doesn't nearly have the diversity and #s of animals as the other parks in Tanzania. Despite all this what made Arusha NP unique was the hilly terrain (Mt. Meru), the awesome weather (cool, sunny weather), the ability to do a walking safari, and the good roads where we could drive ourselves through the park in just a Toyota RAV4 that we'd rented.

Popular border crossing for travelers moving between Kenya and Tanzania but the Kenya side of the border control seems a bit laxed with sometimes instances of security scanners breaking down thereby resulting in the border control personnel to visually inspect goods and this can be very time consuming. If you need to change currency don’t take an offer from the first person you find, if you get a second opinion you might get better rates.

It is orderly, clearence is quite fast compared to the boarder station in Loitoktok. However the officers in uniform terrorize locals for taking photos of the beautiful surrounding landscape.

Best border I have ever visited in East Africa. Very spacious and comfortable, the staff were supportive and in a very good mood. No hustles from the middle men. Bravo Kenya and Tanzania

Located in the north east of Arusha. This national park boasts with beautiful lakes of Momella famous for Flamingoes. There are plenty of Animals but no Lions, Cheetahs and Leopard. With plenty of lodges to sleep and picnic sites to camp and enjoy a day out. The view is scenic and perfect to take photos with lake and mountain as your background. Entry fees is 12000 per adult and 20000 for car.
