Not good for animal lovers. My husband and I love interacting with animals everywhere we go. The hotel has some stray cats around the property that are super sweet. We enjoyed feeding them very much until a male hotel staffer scolded us this morning at breakfast. First time I’ve ever had that happen, very disappointing as we literally base all our trips around animals. It was also our last day of our honeymoon so being scolded for something so petty wasn’t really that enjoyable

Our stay was really good! Advantages -The hotel was really organized, food and drink quality was great everywhere. -the room was amazing with all the necessary amenities -Tide isn’t a big issue in this part of the island (sea moves only a few meters) -the staff is really friendly. Special thanks to Kurwa (beach bar) and Erik (private dinner) -the beach is really nice -it gives you a more exclusive feeling as there aren’t many rooms -the infrastructure is well maintained and modern Disadvantages -if you book bbq or private dinner you don’t get any discount if you have the all inclusive package -the beach is public (as all in Zanzibar) and a lot of street performers/sellers come by at least to some distance. That impacts the peacefulness of the beach. -the breakfast box was bellow average quality (based on hotel standards) Would definitely recommend the all-inclusive package in case you plan to eat/drink there. Also the private beach dinner, seafood bbq and half-day Memba trip were great experiences!

Amazing resort, very nice and comfortable experience. They do the little things very well. Beach is one of the nicest beaches in the best beach area in Zanzibar, if that is what you are looking for. Very nice and well maintained grounds with beautiful trees and plants. Well designed resort, would highly recommend for a Honeymoon, couples vacation, etc.

Could a place get anymore perfect?? Absolutely stunning and breathtaking!!! It feels like you’re in a little boujie village in the jungle! The service is 10/10!! Fell in love with the complementary coconut biscuits from this place and I’m still dreaming about them 🥹 The beachfront is out of this world, super relaxing 😍 The bar has amazing food using the freshest ingredients… The coconut I had from here was the sweetest ever! During sunset they put on a great Masaai dance which was so amazing!

We had an amazing stay! The hotel is very beautifully designed and taken care of with attention to all details, which makes the staying so delightful. The beach is beautiful, the food is tasty. Nice activities program. The staff is all so nice and welcoming. Especially Nina, the front office manager who was so nice and helpful and her colleague Ivana. I wouldn't miss that experience and wish to come back here again. Thank you so much.

Hotel blocks a part of the beach which is technically not even in use by the hotel guests and not in sight for them. No sign, that this part is private or anything. If you want to put your towel there, there is immediately an officer, which ask you to go, because „only today“ is a very important guest in the hotel. This happened several times. Not nice, dear Zuri Zanzibar Hotel Manager!

A piece of paradise on earth. Fantastic hotel, beautiful scenery, super friendly staff, delicious food and drinks. Our villa came with butlers Pia and Malik, who could not be more friendly and attentive, making our stay here absolutely amazing. This is THE place to stay when visiting Zanzibar.

My wife and I spent the second part of our honeymoon here after the safari stay we had in the mainland. The rooms the staff and the food were all amazing. We spend our days in the wide beach of the property and did not feel bored even 1 second of the stay. The sundown entertainment they provide is a great adition to the trip. Enjoying a DJ set or live music while watching the sunset is a great way to end the day. Special thanks to Dalene in the water sports center to provide us with great equipment and advice during our stay. Would recomend to everyone.

Absolutely fantastic place. This hotel is way above the other hotels in the area. The villas/bungalows are fabulous and perfectly placed in an amazing tropical garden. Great food & service. Really nice and helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay here. Thank you!!!

Lovely resort in the middle of a tropical forest with easy access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar While the resort itself is beautiful the food was average . The breakfast buffet was limiting with not many options . However the staff was lovely and accommodative.

Probably one of the best holidays I have had. The resort is organised in an amazing manner with the villas providing enough privacy but still in a stone throw away from all the facilities. The resort manager and personnel were an example of hospitality and service. One of the best beaches I have visited, crystal clear water, thriving marine life. The facilities are more than you can ask for and the pool area is also a good place to relax and have a swim. The biggest surprise was the resort's cuisine, from breakfast to dinner and a must have is the Saturday BBQ evening event. We will definitely visit again.

Zuri Zanzibar is truly paradise. The moment you enter the property it feels like you have entered through the gates of heaven. The bungalow was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The detailed design and layout of the rooms and the overall property are truly impeccable. I love the garden, the hammock, the spice tour, the spa, the yoga classes, and the close proximity to the beach. Zuri has so much to offer! It was like a retreat with peace, calmness, and beautiful beaches. AND the food is good excellent - Zanzibar night is my favorite. Most importantly, the staff was amazing and the customer service was excellent. My partner and I left feeling like we are family.

A wonderful complex with bungalows on a slight slope. From the bungalows you can walk in swimwear to the beach of the Indian Ocean. The bungalows are completely protected with plants, flowers and trees all around. It creates the impression that you would live in the jungle, Wonderful!

amazing resort.. the beach is so nice and the service is great...the only annoying thing is the guys on the beach that try to sell you jet ski and sunset tour and bracelets.. they don't go away.. i didn't like the food but my husband thought it was ok.. I will come back again because I loved the hotel!

Zuri is a top notch resort in Zanzibar, and it is one of the best if not the best on the whole island. Everything was nice and very clean. The pool was amazing, and so were the beach activities. The facial was a bit pricy though. They also have an excellent yoga teacher, I did a private sesh with her and she was so friendly as well (I still remember her words to me). They cared about my birthday, so thanks very much! I like that inside the resort, we can contact them through WhatsApp. And yes, do not miss the spice tour garden, and all the in-hotel activities. They are really nice! Staff and hotel manager were so friendly, and they care about everyone staying. But rooms were a bit dark, fridge in the room was not that cool, also I did not like the taste of water in the room. It would be much better if they bring already bottled water from those still water international brands (When I stayed at Park Hyatt in Stone Town, water was served like this), after I left the resort I realized that I should have asked for better water in the room. The buffet was nice, but some main dishes were just average. And the longer you stay the more you get bored with this type of food. But generally, it was good and best food we had in Zanzibar. One last thing is the road to the resort is bumpy and very difficult. It made me feel a bit sick, although it was a short distance from the Main Street. But since this is a very luxury hotel, we were surprised that the road to the entrance is not fixed.

Beautiful place but lacks vision on general management. The staff is great but the services provided are poor for what they charging per night. The food is eatable, not even good. Cocktail selection and bars are great

My partner and I stayed here for three nights, and it was awesome! The service is excellent without being too in-your-face about it. We did the half board, and the food was all delicious with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The last night we ate dinner at the pool restaurant, which I highly recommend! We came in April which is the rainy season, so it poured every day we were there. I was able to sit out on the covered patio on the hammock and enjoy the relaxing sound of the rain while I read my book - it was incredible. The beach is lovely as well, with comfy loungers and plenty of shade. We also did the couple connect massage and scrub, which was delightful and relaxing. I also want to mention the spice tour! Available every day at 11 am (book in advance with the front desk), it was very cool to see and smell all the familiar (and some not so familiar) spices.

If you are looking for paradise, this is it! Zuri Zanzibar is phenomenal. The service is exceptional, each member of the team go out or their way to exceed expectations. The staff truly elevate the experience! From reception, to the beach - all the amenities and activities are designed with the customer in mind. The rooms are spectacular, we stayed in the Bungalow and I recommend the all inclusive package- great value overall. The facilities, gardens, the private beach are all clean and well kept, with the most gorgeous touches and finishes! Top class! BBQ at Bahari restaurant is a must. The boat ride to Nungwi is a nice addition. Visit the ladies at the spa for a treat. If you're looking for jet skiing, you can find some along the beach next door. The long drive from the airport is worth it! By the way, try the prawn tacos at Maisha restaurant for lunch... yum!

We had very high expectations but Zuri is actually better than in our dreams, it is more than “beautiful”, it’s close to perfection. We loved the location (the tropical garden, the private spice farm, the stunning beach and the privacy of the bungalows), we loved the relaxed and informal atmosphere, we loved the food, we loved the yoga classes, we loved the soft entrainment. We loved the feeling of being taken care of. The staff went the extra mile to make sure we had a good time; their kindness and their smiles were a daily gift. Besides we really appreciated all the small and big efforts they have done and daily do to be as green as possible; this hotel shows that it is possible to respect the environment without compromising quality and this is a huge plus. Our time in this paradise has flown by but our hearts know that we’ll make the most to be beack.

Every last detail in this hotel was thought out, it was simply beautiful. We came for our honeymoon and it exceeded our expectations! We truly loved every minute being at Zuri and the food was also incredible! Don’t hesitate to book here!

For friends and family, yes u want to be here. U almost have in-hotel activity everyday. However, for honeymooner like us looking for privacy and intimacy is not really the place. Overall, u will have so much fun here, never bored and nice beach.

World class hotel made even more special by the fantastic staff, stunning design/interiors & tropical surroundings. The food is just amazing, but beyond that pretty much everything is faultless and just so well done. So much thought, care and consideration has gone into every single minor detail. We can’t wait to book to stay here again! The only minor thing I would say is I felt so bad for the staff having to wear masks as none of the guests do. I think given the environment — and that you are mostly outdoors the whole time — it should be up to guests to wear masks if they want to, but not required for the staff to do so. They all work so hard and I bet it must be tough having to wear a mask in the heat! We are all outside and it is lovely to see them smile when you chat to them :-)

Beautiful property, great sand beaches and wonderful water. Far from the airport, plan accordingly if you would like to see Stone Town. Massage was great. Each night the restaurant had a different cuisine and large variety. Each evening there was music and bon fire on the beach. Lots of water activities, some at an additional cost. Bungalows are very nice and private. Would recommend for honeymooners.

Every detail has been intentional and well thought of. The efforts to conserve the nature and their active participation in the community stand out. The gardens are surreal and the rooms/bungalows are beyond expectations. The beach is not entirely private, but the crystal blue waters and the amenities on the beach make up for it. Sadly not much marine life close to the shore as we enjoy snorkeling. Kindest people and staff. Made our stay even better. The garden tour is a must, they are so knowledgeable, we absolutely loved it. Cannot wait to return.

The best hotel in Zanzibar hands down and the most welcoming staff who even made sure they looked after me as a former guest of the hotel. Amazing people, views , rooms and food . I’ll be back .

Zuri was wonderful from top-to-bottom— the attention to detail in building and decorating the resort was so memorable. We did two scuba dives through the Wimbi water sports center (using East Indian Diving) and the experience was so easy and safe. I got a massage at the spa and it was very relaxing. We lounged on the beach for many hours and had excellent service. I especially like how the beach has security guards preventing any rogue vendors. Most notably, I was experiencing some sickness throughout our trip and the whole Zuri team was so accommodating— Jackline deserves a shout out. She prepared some rice for me when my stomach wasn’t feeling well, and then came and found me on the beach to deliver it to me. The staff could not have been nicer. Loved our little bungalow. Hot water in the showers. Good food (from what I could eat). I feel so spoiled on our honeymoon! Four days here was the perfect amount of time.

Zuri Zanzibar is definitely a 5 star experience. The customer service is the best I've ever experienced. All of the staff are so helpful and cheerful. The resort is luxurious and had everything we needed for a quiet beach break. Thank you to everyone at Zuri for making our stay perfect!

HIS IS A TRUE PARADISE (Pavel withe family, 3-bedroom villa with ocean view, 6 days, April 2022) Wonderful beautiful complex in a charming tropical garden. If you are looking for privacy, absolute relaxation, slowing down and the charm of African romance, you will not find too many better places. Hotel - the whole complex is built on separate bungalows / villas, underlines the feeling of privacy and is in absolute contrast to the mass multi-storey resorts. Architecture is a unique combination of traditional buildings, with African details and a bit of European (international) design. The mix is magical and unique. Beach - a beautiful private beach, maintained daily and mainly guarded. Plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas, towels. Beach bars with all-day service. Just slow down, completely eliminate stress, enjoy all the time from sunrise to its footsteps like MY TIME ... "polepole" - slowly. Pools - one pool was in our villa - beautiful. And one large communal pool is above the beach - a beautiful large, infinity, romantic pool set in tropical gardens. Watching the sunset from it is pure physical joy. Nature - is all around you. It is beautiful, wild, lush. The whole garden is prepared and maintained with great feeling and underlines your captivating individual experience. Lizards of all sizes, snails, chameleons will live with you during your vacation. But it's magical. This corresponds to the open concept of all buildings and connections to the garden. A separate chapter is a special part of the garden - spice garden. Don't miss the guided walk - you will see all the famous spices in their herbal / shrub form. You smell everything, grind it in your hands, paint it on your hands or cheeks. It's really magical (and even your teenagers will be enchanted ... and that's something!). In the spice garden we also had a course in cooking African food. Incredibly fun ... and whatever you cook in a friendly and great (thank you, John) atmosphere, you can eat right in the garden. The sea - beautiful crystal clear, in varying shades of all blue according to the movement of the sun. Right next to the hotel is a sandy beach - so the sea is great for swimming all the day. We went also snorkeling by boat (about 1 hour) to the nearby coral island of Mnemba and we had a wonderful time. From the Maldives, we were already a bit ready for the "aquarium", but it was no less beautiful here. In addition, a local guide dived with us, naming us all the fish. Restaurant - just great. Once again, it is good to remember that the concept of the hotel is based on maximum environmental friendliness and the use of local ingredients with their traditional processing. I can go to a posh a-la cart restaurant anywhere in Europe, here we appreciated exactly what Zuri offers with its concept - simple local and international food, well prepared and presented. Could there be a wider choice of everything? Yes. But why? And at what cost and moving food? All restaurants and bars are relaxed and elegant. Sunsets - don't miss them on the main beach! It's a lifelong experience. REALLY! Although we had a private part of the beach at our villa, every evening we went to a shared beach and watched the sun fall into the sea with the others. It was like some community magic. Strong emotions. Staff - incredibly nice people. Really everyone. The whole stay was without a single conflict. Always a smile, always a willingness. Jambo-Mambo. Thank you in particular: Nina at the reception (total African sun !!), our butlers - Malik and Pia (incredibly kind and helpful people), John, Oscar, Mundhir (guide in the spice garden - he could name spices in Czech !!! Can you believe that?) , and many, many more... Overall? This is a real paradise. Just get ready for it and try to forget everything in your everyday life during the first 1 or 2 days ... then suddenly you will feel the time slowly stopping around you ... Hakuna matata!

Great resort, beautiful rooms, very polite stuff, nice restaurants, amazing garden, spice garden too. Best beach in Zanzibar where you can swim all day. Recommendation for sea food dinner on the beach with live music

This hotel is an absolute paradise, the best hotel in Zanzibar. Everything fits together. The hotel has its own Spice farm, an amazing pool, its own beach. There are several restaurants and the cuisine is excellent. Simply perfect. Definitely recommend it, it's worth it.
