The 4 person dorm is ultra tiny. Outside there is a little Chillout area that can be nice, but often there are too many people of which you don't know if they are staff or just random people hanging out and often they drink konyagi early in the day. The owner mukzin is really nice though. Lots of kittens. So if you are allergic you should avoid the place. If you love kittens your heart will melt.

Built on dirt, literally not a blade of grass or soft landscaping in the guest areas, visited in February I hate to see this place during the wet season. Rooms are claustrophobic, very hot due to poor ventilation, generally not somewhere you can just sit back and read a book. Breakfast was good, though.

Best stay I've ever had. If you're looking for a friendly community that can help you around Tanzania it's the place. Every evening there's a dinner with lovely and interesting people, after a days of heavy exploring. Rooms are nice, toilets are clean... Lemons and avocadoes grow in the garden!

It's the best accommodation I've ever been to so far. Muskin and his team are so friendly, attentive and creative. You can expect a unique accommodation providing a great service. I hope I see you soon brothers

Stayed at Mountain Bikes House in August 2018. Muksin kindly welcomed me and showed me around the ongoing creation of a great refuge for cyclists and travellers looking to relax and unwind for a few days. The slopes of Kilimanjaro and tracks around Moshi provide some great cycling opportunities, ranging from one to multiple day rides. A hub for cyclists who have their own bike or are looking to rent a bike and get some information on the riding options around, is much welcomed. The accommodation here is peaceful, relaxing and provides a good opportunity to meet other guests. Hope to return one day.

Mountain bikes house is an awesome hostel! The workers and owner are really awesome people and are willing to go above and beyond for you. We stayed here before our Kilimanjaro hike and decided to stay there after also. Just a short walk to Moshi town.

I booked the hostel since it’s a popular place but I was quite disappointed once I got there. My dorm was full of dust balls. For those dust balls to have formed, no cleaning had been done in that dorm for a hot minute. I left the place with bad bad flu. The only thing I loved about it is that it’s away from town in a quiet neighbourhood apart from Sunday mornings (there’s a church around). The host is also a nice person. I can only book it again if the hygiene levels of the hostel are looked into.

I did the best choice in booking in this cottage! The cottage owner is wonderfully, friendly, pleasant. Beautiful Mountain View. Everything you're looking for nature feeling is in this Lodge. . Price is fair enough. Highly recommended. We had a good time, fun, laughters and wonderful experienced. We will definitely come back here again...

Mountain Bike House is a accommodation to feel at home! The owners are just easy going and friendly, that I would always come back for a stay! Also the breakfast is a huge portion and very yummy and the garden or treehouse lounge is a lovely place to rest and relax :) Asante sana!

The place is ok to stay for a few nights, the old rusty vintage look is a nice idea, but in combination with the lack of cleaness it becomes uncomfortable. The cabins need improvement like a real floor and blankets and a good bathroom floor that allows it to be cleaned. It is quite noisy at night, the breakfast is too small, beer and food is expensive. It does not seem like somebody takes good care of the place. But the owner is very nice and can organize affordable trips that you should not miss! So all in all it's ok but needs improvement.

The accommodation is very stylish in traditional ways and designed to provide comfortable and safe stay. The hospitality and environment is incredible. I recommend for having a cool time in less fancy place and get relaxed 👍

This is a great place to stay in Moshi. The host is amazing. He cooks breakfast and dinner for free. He also offers free rides to the bus station in the morning. There's tons of outdoor space for relaxing. The nightly bonfire was a huge highlight. I can't recommend this place enough.

Wonderful place to call home. I intended to stay for a couple nights but ended up doing a month. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The people here make you feel like family, sharing stories, breakfast and dinner. Rahim will help you with anything you might need. And Tito of course, will make you laugh non stop. The best hostel/home I've stayed in on my world travels.

The best stay we had on our trip to Tanzania was undoubtedly at the mountain bike house eco lodge. It was comfy, cozy and the staff was super friendly. You are going to meet a lot of interesting people, because of the wonderful vibe. We were sleeping in one of the eco-bungalows - and I can’t say enough how beautiful those rooms are. Just stunning! Every detail is handmade and you can see that it was created with a lot of love and effort. The food was awesome and offered variation for every one. We loved to hang out in the social areas of the lodge, just to relax or to discuss the next steps of our trip. The lodge is run by Muksin and his brothers, who are having a tour-company as well and can offer you all kind of adventures in Tanzania. So there is no way you are having a boring second during this stay! Thanks again for making this the best time of our vacation.

I really enjoyed staying at Mountain bikes house. It’s close to the city centre and way better for experiencing the ‘local life’ than staying in a hotel. The owner and staff were helpful and friendly whenever I needed advice or ideas for either day trips or finding the best shop. The house and rooms were clean, the garden perfect for a day to relax and there were always fresh fruits to grap between the delicious homemade Tanzanian meals. I’m happy that I stayed there and can only recommend to others!

An ideal hostel for backpackers and travelers on a budget. As the name suggests, it's theme is bikes. For those looking for bike adventures the owners organize for off-road biking in the wild. Owners are very kind and hospitable. Food is available on order.

Avoid if possible. Full of dirt in the room, and dusty and dusty. Overbooking is taken also. My room is already taken to another customer, and i had to find another hotel. The problem is there are no one who can speak english or communicate with customers. ㅇㅡ왠맘함몀감짐맘욤

Wow.... how to describe my stay at mountain bike house? What a place! Not knly do Muskin, Ibra, Catherine, Junior and Noel make you feel like one of the family, they welcome you to one of the best families I've known. They care for each other, for their guests and for the world around them. I was there for five days and enjoyed everything from dancing in nightclubs to singing by the campfire, I saw golden sunsets and the icy peaks of Kili glowing silver in the moonlight... no word of a lie: the place is magic!! Also recommend borrowing a bike for a tour of the coffee plantation followed by some of the best beef I've had for a long time! If you're feeling more adventurous, they can arrange for a motorcycle to visit the local hotsprings - just make sure you double check that you're visiting the right one!! I know that the family have exciting plans for the future as well, so, depending on when you read this, you might find you get even more!! Best place in Moshi by a long way....

One of the pleasant experiences in Tanzania, the reason I give this place 5 stars is for the ambience. The staff is very friendly and some of the Tanzanian locals hanging around the establishment can actually have interesting conversations!! We did not stay in the bungalows because they were booked but they looked very cute and obviously simple.

Best place in Moshi! Authentic experience and special bike tours. The lodge tree houses are amazing and well equipped, good vibes meeting travelers from all around the world and great location.

The deluxe suite is good, the rest of the spaces are too rustic and need good floors, so that visitors aren't Dusty all the time . The breakfast was not good, there is need for real blankets/duvets as Moshi is cold. Change of bedding is also important . The staff members are friendly

    I loved the SUNSET BUS

  • 5/5 Paul H. 4 years ago on Google
Absolutely amazing atmosphere, super friendly staff and the owners become your friends over your stay. This is a popular place for people to stay who are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Dorms are on the better side for a hostel, but everything else was so much better than any hostel I've ever stayed at and for everything that is offered, it is incredibly inexpensive. If I am ever back in Moshi, I will stay here again no doubt

We had an amazing experience in Tanzania. The biggest contributor to that was choosing the right place to stay. We flew into Tanzania to hike Mount Kilimanjaro and enjoy our honeymoon. Mountain Bikes House made everything seamless. We booked our hiking accomodations through the hostel. They provide airport transportation, breakfast, dinner, laundry service, wifi and so much more. The rooms were clean and everyone was very inviting.

Its a good place to be as it is locally made but some designs of the interiors of the house are Modernized

The Mountainbike house is one of a kind - high, comfortable standards accentuated with beautiful African features. You will detect colorful patterns all over the compound, along with artworks from local artists. Muksin and his crew are so welcoming, caring, kind, attentive and above all, fun! The food is super delicious and the sunset bus ride pure magic. The African TV aka bonfire brings together locals and travelers and always assures great company. If you are coming to moshi, make sure you stay with Muksin, either in one of the dorms or the super charming bungalows. From there you can visit the hot springs or be taken away by the breathtaking beauty of materuni waterfalls, only a brief car ride away.

The mountain bike house was such an amazing place to stay!! It’s definitely home away from home. I have traveled all over the world and this has to be the best place I have ever stayed. There is no place else in moshi that comes close. The staff are so friendly and helpful! Each morning eating breakfast with views of Kilimanjaro is hard to beat and the family style dinners will have you feel right at home! I definitely will be coming back, thanks for all the great memories!!

Great Hostel with a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast is not that big, but with a magic view on Kilimanjaro. Good to meet people, but also to relax. Home cooked dinner is served at night. I really recommend the bungalows. And last but not least, Rahim the owner is great, kind and makes you feel at home. We were a little sad when we left.

A great place to stay in Moshi. The place is locally owned, which I prefer over foreign owned places. Staff is very helpful and always in for a chat. The rooms are ok, I hurt my feet on the cobblestones several times and the corners were a bit dusty, but the beds were clean and soft. They organize several activities such as a sunset tour.

(Translated by Google) Last week 1 night. If we knew this before ..... Very hospitable. Traditional cottage with twin beds. Sunset in the corn fields with an excellent view of the Kilimanjaro. In short, an unforgettable evening! (Original) Afgelopen week 1 nachtje geweest. Als we dit eerder wisten..... Heel gastvrij. Traditioneel huisje met twin beds. (Translated by Google) I highly recommend it, especially to young people. Owners and service treat their guests with unfeigned hospitality. Against the background of other facilities in which I had to stay the night was outstanding (it comes to the atmosphere, because the interiors and equipment are rather modest). (Original) Bardzo gorąco polecam, szczególnie młodym ludziom. Właściciele i obsługa traktują swoich gości z nieudawaną gościnnością. Na tle innych obiektów w których przyszło mi nocować ten był wybitny (chodzi o atmosferę, bo wnętrza i wyposażenie są raczej skromne).

A brilliant new eco hostel in Moshi! I LOVED my stay here- it has a really homey, comforting vibe. The breakfast is delicious (eggs of your choice, pancakes, fruits, toast, and cassava) and so are the dinners (which have vegetarian options!) DEFINITELY do the sunset tour- you take their army green bus, drive to a watermelon field and drink beers on top of the bus beneath Mt Kili while watching the sunset! It was a true highlight of my stay! I stayed for 4 days and can't wait to return next time I go to hike Mt. Kili!
