I stayed here for two weeks during my volunteering activity. Good place to stay and spend time with a variety of activity offers if wanted (yoga, painting class, pool). Everything is being cared for and managed quickly by the owner T.

I stayed as a volunteer for over two months. It truly felt like home, hence the name, nyumbani is Swahili for "at home". Nice, tidy rooms, bathroom and kitchen, good food and amazing staff. I will definitely come back in the future.

Super spacious hostel appointed with nice art work and amenities. Very good breakfast included, decent wifi throughout the larger building, a kitchen for communal use with filtered drinking water, clean rooms with large beds and hot showers, attentive staff that cam also arrange tours in the area, pool and a rooftop lounge with bar and laundry services. A lot of perks packed into an affordable price. Neg- hot water heaters are low capacity. Only get a few mins of hot before is runs out. Kitchen could use some more basic cookware like frying pans and decent knives, a colander.

Book a 2-nights stay with 4 persons, only two hours in advance. Rooms were prepared as soon as we arrived. Rooms and beds were very clean and well maintained. The hostel has a nice pool with sunbeds and a rooftop bar that serves a variety of cocktails for a good price. Included breakfast was made fresh every morning. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice hostel with private rooms, about a 40 minute walk to the center of Arusha. Beautiful rooftop bar but sadly not attended during my stay. Great pool area but very cold water. Shower also has cold water only. No generators so pack your power bank and flashlight for the possible 6 hour evening blackout. Getting into my room involved walking through a small gym and each time I went, I had to interrupt a yoga class. The place is fine but could be better.

Had a decent stay here at Nyumbani. The staff and guides are friendly and the facilities are good, especially the pool and the rooftop bar. The place wasn't really social when I was there but that's probably because there were only a handful of people staying in the whole complex at the time. The place is also a fair way out of town and getting around anywhere will mean you will have to drive everywhere. All meals which are pretty plain will need to be onsite as there is nothing around either in walking distance. The rooms get quite hot during summer as well and don't feature fans or even air-conditioning.

We had a great time at Nyumbani hostel! The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating, always at hand to support with any questions. The facilities are great with a lovely pool for during the day and a fun roof top bar for the evenings! I highly recommend for anyone coming to Arusha.

I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks as a project volunteer. Accommodation included breakfast and dinner. it was always delicious. It’s a super well organised and clean hostel with so so so much space. I met so many people that I’ll have for life and now I know I have a safe place to come back to in Arusha. The hostel has a lot of facilities, activities and treatments making it impossible to get bored.

This is the hostel I stayed at while volunteering in Arusha, and it was perfect! Such a nice surprise to get to a place that not only offers activities for your stay, but also many areas to get acquainted with the rest of the guests. Amazing stay at Nyumbani Hostel! We got a ride from JRO which made it so convenient. It was great having the option for dinner at the hostel and all the breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Also, the day trip options were great and affordable and all the guides are great! The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and had everything I needed. I would highly recommend this for your stay in Arusha!

Just one Word: Perfect! Tizia and Tini are so nice! The Food is so good :) the Service is perfect. They made everything possible! Wether its about Tours, get a tanzanian number, of anything else. They helped us everytime! We are looking foreward to come back :)

Very nice hostel in Arusha! It’s a bit far from the centre, but in a nice area. The staff is very nice, the hostel is cosy, with everything you may need! They cook dinner for the guests everyday, Tanzanian food which is delicious. Cosy beds, nice living room and they help you with everything you may need. Transfers available to book too. Great hostel! Very clean rooms/bathrooms and good food! I stayed here for one week and have absolutely no complaints. Everybody is very friendly and helpful. I am convinced that the Nyumbani Hostel is one of the better, if not the best hostel in Arusha. They also offer/help you organize trips/airport drop-off/literally anything. They also offer yoga/painting/cooking classes which is a great way to meet other people. Not to mention the rooftop bar. I made friends, literally the first day I arrived. I highly recommend it.

I can not express enough how welcoming and friendly the people are at this hostel. The owner and staff go above and beyond to make your experience a great one. I literally can’t say one bad thing about it. They offer a free breakfast that is delicious! They also can set you up with many day trips to choose from if interested or if you would rather hang out and relax they have a well maintained pool! You truly will feel at home when staying here. I really can’t express it enough!

The hostel was in a great location, close to the centre but still peaceful and you could see a lot of nature from the rooftop. The staff is absolutely wonderful and want to help you with everything they can. It really feels a bit like home instead of a hotel. It was also very clean and there is such good food!
